The decor is cozy with a quirky edge to add some happy to your stay.

Just a short walk away is a large deck overlooking a beautiful stream - a perfect place to pan for gold or have cocktails. You may run into Katie, our miniature donkey, who loves to have her ears rubbed or see horses grazing in the pastures.

There is a large pond on the farm that has lots fish. You are welcomed to bring your poles/bait and try your luck. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Catch and release only please.

- "I would return again and again! The location was perfect, one street back from Main Street with access to sidewalks and a nice field to walk our pup. Cindy was always available for our questions and it's obviously she really cares for her property and 'clients'. The bungalow is in a nice safe neighborhood and everyone we met was helpful and friendly. Sitting on the porch just greeting people as they walked by! I will say on the weekends, about every 10-15 minutes a bus from Cool River Tubing goes by that can get loud, but you don't hear it from inside the house; and they didn't go down the street during the weekdays. The bungalow was super clean and had plenty of kitchen ware (that we didn't use!), soap and body wash in the shower, laundry detergent etc. We honestly brought to much with us. The couch and chair were extremely comfy, as were both bedrooms. Sleeping on the twin trundle wasn't bad, but it will move and squeak a little. I like soft mattresses so it worked out great for me. Everything is really within walking distance. Plenty of restaurants and stores. We really enjoyed the location for traveling to numerous nearby waterfalls and hikes (within a 30 minute car ride). The only thing I will say is the porch furniture could use a few cushions, but that may be because we are a little older! The semi-adjoining bungalow did have seat cushions in their rockers. We will definitely be back!!"

The Guest House is located on a ridge overlooking the Chattahoochee National Forest and is accessed by a gravel road. As you drive in, there are views of Tray & Chimney Mountains. The picnic table & swing are perfect places to relax and view the mountains.

This cozy renovated fishing retreat has lots of windows to view the beautiful lake from every room . The yard is fenced in and has six Adirondack chairs surrounding a large fire pit. Cade's place is our 100 + year old "Guest cottage" at Shady Oaks Farm. It has been restored, keeping a rustic theme with the modern creature comforts of today including usb ports, wifi, heat , a/c, a large patio with a hot tub and a super cozy and romantic fireplace.

The living area has a plush sleeper sofa, comfy wingback chair, Roku smart tv and cozy gas fireplace. The adjoining kitchen has full size appliances including a dishwasher, microwave, a kuerig coffee maker and is fully equipped with paper goods, coffee, etc. There is a bistro set for 2. The cottage has nice wine glasses for that evening glass on the patio and spices and foil for grilling. Just bring your meat and veggies.

The bedroom has a queen bed with a new pillow top mattress, nice linens, closet, sitting area and Roku tv. Our Roku tvs are great for your Netflix, Hulu, prime and other subscriptions , ( CBS NEWS and a few others are free to view (we do not have cable or satellite tv)

The french doors in the great room lead out to a large patio, perfect for breathing in the fresh mountain air, enjoying morning coffee or relaxing with a glass of wine in the evening under the rustic tin roof (and the outdoor ceiling fan for those warm southern nights). We created this outdoor living space from the former stables where our horses were kept. It is furnished with a table for 4, cozy sitting areas and a hammock for those mid afternoon naps or curling up with a good book. we have also added a new hot tub with fun lights and a waterfall. Our guest can stream music, work on laptops or surf the internet outdoors as the wifi works great indoors and out. A gas grill and is located on the patio. A fire pit with wood provided is a few steps away from the cottage. this patio is not dog proof and dogs must be attended by their humans at all times.

Just outside the patio area is our repurposed chicken coop that now houses the outdoor shower. Enjoy a refreshing hot shower in the great outdoors, totally private from the surrounding property. (outdoor shower seasonal)

For our 4 legged guest: We are extremely dog friendly as is our area and surrounding towns.- There are sidewalks to walk your furry pal. Having such a nice place to call home away from home made our vacay in Clayton that much more enjoyable. I work in Clayton every couple of years. They loved the cabin itself because of the pool/ping pong/air hockey table and the falls on the property. So many days they just wanted to stay in the cabin. If you hike the property, you will find beautiful creeks and actual falls. It is all breathtaking. We are from Miami, FL, so we are not used to seeing so much natural beauty. Additionally, the actual location of the cabin itself is perfect. We drove easily to Helen, GA, which is a must visit alpine town. We traveled to Dahlonega, GA to tour the underground mine and gem mining for the kids. We drove to Athens, GA to see UGA. We also drove to Highlands, NC for some snow tubing on Scaly Mountain. Moreover, the hosts were amazing. The Drapers were fantastic and so easy to communicate. No need to doubt this location, book it! Thank you for the experience!"

Arborwood Cottage offers you a relaxing, cozy, charming retreat. This cottage in the woods is nestled on 3 acres surrounded by mountain laurel and hardwoods. You’ll love the quiet and solitude, evenings spent on the screened in porch or next to the firepit with a nice glass of wine. Kayaking, tubing, horseback riding, waterfall visits and more are all just minutes away. This is a great romantic getaway, girls week end, and just an overall great way to experience all Dahlonega has to offer.

The space
The cottage has a front porch and a back screened in porch with a twin size porch bed swing. From here you'll enjoy a beautiful wooded view while having your morning coffee. Each bedroom has French doors leading to the porch – one in the front of the house and one in the back of the house. The stone fireplace has gas logs with a remote starter. There is an outdoor fire pit, but you'll need to bring your own firewood. We suggest stopping by The Tomato House Farms on your way to the cottage. They offer firewood all year round and it’s only about 10 minutes away. If you plan to grill out on the Brookstone Griddle you’ll want to head there to the butcher shop also.

PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS DESCRIPTION REGARDING THE ROAD: We're in the woods/mountains, so getting here you’ll drive about 1/2 MILE on a GRAVEL/DIRT ROAD. For those of you from the flat areas of the country, it will feel like you are driving forever on this road (but you're not). Since it's a gravel road, you will experience a bumpy ride due to the fact that gravel roads can never be smooth all the time. With rain and basic wear and tear from driving on them, they will get some pot holes and dips in the road. This road is not owned by the county, but our Property Owner's Association does a great job of keeping them in really good shape. Just take your time driving and you’ll be fine. We think you'll love the seclusion it offers. By the way, my husband drives his small sedan on this road and our daughter has driven her small sports car up there.

Our internet service is with Hughes - a satellite service (25 Mbps). On cloudy days it may not be as effective as on sunny days. It's just the nature of the area. We have a 2.4GHz and 5GHz option. It’s NOT good for gaming or extensive downloading. My husband and I are able to work up there and use the internet without any problem. You may need to disconnect from the WiFi on all your devices in order to watch TV. You will be able to log into your accounts for Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and other services, but make sure you log out before you leave. There is also a DVD player with a few movies available for you to watch. But you’ll want to bring some of your favorites.

TLC is a comfy cottage on a private 6-acre lake 15 minutes from Helen, and very close to many vineyards and hiking trails. Paddle a Jon boat or paddleboards, fish, swim, relax on a large deck, walk, dine on the screened porch, grill, and enjoy the fire pit. Comfortable new sleeper sofa obtained in 2022. We are handicapped accessible, and pet friendly. Wifi and smart TV are provided as well as many DVD’s, books and games. No cable TV or satellite TV.

Staying in the Schoolhouse Cottage is staying in a piece of history. When you walk through the living room and master bedroom you are walking on floors that school children walked on 170 years ago. The photos hanging throughout the cottage are historic images of Dahlonega and North Georgia from an archived collection that you’re unlikely to see anywhere else. What's more, the modern amenities and attention to detail allow you to savor the history that surrounds you while still enjoying the comforts of the 21st century. To top it off, the cottage is less than two minutes from the main road yet it's surrounded by wooded land, hills, and privacy.

The Schoolhouse is located in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains minutes from the town of Dahlonega and a variety of North Georgia attractions. It is ideal for those who appreciate a unique and thoughtfully cared for home-base as they venture out to explore the rich history, natural wonders, and local activities in the surrounding area. The owner, Callie, is also the caretaker and the person you will be communicating with as you plan and prepare for your stay. This is Callie's only vacation rental property and your experience is truly cared about and matters to her.

Finally, please read the full description of the cottage, the amenities, and the house rules prior to booking. And if you plan to bring your pup along for your stay you must register him/her as part of your booking party and follow the pet policy in order to be refunded your pet deposit.

The master bedroom (part of the original schoolhouse) has a queen bed, bath with shower, and a private screened-in porch accessible through a door that was once the entrance to the original school building.

The second bedroom has a full size bed with a full-size bath with tub/shower.

The living room is also part of the original schoolhouse and has a big cozy couch that can comfortably sleep one person.

There is no cable television service however there is a smart TV where you can watch most major networks and Roku for streaming of free and subscription services.

Dog Policy:
We love dogs at the Schoolhouse and are happy to welcome yours free of charge under the following conditions:
-Canine companions must be clean with trimmed nails and up to date on flea and tick prevention.
-Guests will remove any waste from the yard.
-Please bring clean blankets to cover furniture if your pup likes snuggling with you.
-Wipe dirty paws and wet dogs with the towels and cloths found under the kitchen sink as opposed to using guest towels from the bathroom.
-If any furniture, rugs, or bedding gets soiled, guests should treat the area with stain spray found in the laundry cabinet.
-PLEASE vacuum floors, furniture, and lint roll where necessary to remove pet hair prior to check-out.
-A $75 pet deposit will be charged to guests after confirmation of booking. Guests who follow the dog policy, i.e. there is no additional pet related cleaning required after checkout, will have their deposit returned to them.

Wilkommen to “Das Vogel Haus” in Helen, GA! This family-friendly cottage offers the best of indoor and outdoor living, with easy access to downtown Helen. Gathering Moss Cottage is a wonderful family getaway or 2 to 3 couples retreat on Lake Burton. Great views from the screened porch while reading a book or watching the kids play in the lake. Make some great memories at this fantastic cottage. New firepit is in just off the steps leading to the lake. Kayak's are available on site as well as pontoon boat rental from your host delivered to the dock, no pu or drop off. Tubes for tubing behind the boat available for the kids!

The space
Gathering Moss cottage has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. Great screened porch overlooking the lake. Dock and boathouse are yours to enjoy but not the boats inside the boathouse. Three bedrooms total, two on the main level and one on the terrace lower level. Dogs are allowed but off the furniture please. Terrace level patio has dog gates and bowls.
Gas grill and outdoor dining on the patio under the porch also.

The cottage is in a prime location! It is on a mountain where you feel secluded and have your privacy yet only a 5-10 minute drive from town, so you are getting the best of both worlds! Plenty of unique restaurants and also a great selection of chain places for you to choose from. Grocery stores, shopping, and anything else you need right around the corner. Also, a great location for day trips, with the quaint city of Helen, Georgia less than one hour drive away! State parks, apple orchards, vineyards and farmers markets are close by as well, leaving you with plenty to do in this beautiful town!

Our home comfortably sleeps seven (7) guests. There is one king bed in the open concept loft upstairs, one queen bed in the main level suite and a bunk bed downstairs with two full beds and one single twin bed. There are two full bathrooms, one in the main level adjacent to the main level suite which has a spacious custom shower and double sinks and another full bathroom on the lower level. Additional details of each room are below.

MAIN LEVEL:

- MAIN BEDROOM – Queen bed with premium mattress, 50” smart TV, two nightstands for storage and double door entry to patio with mountain views!

- MAIN BATHROOM – Very spacious full bathroom with double vanity with two sinks, upgraded walk-in shower and linen closet.

- KITCHEN – Upgraded kitchen with all new appliances, drip/pod Keurig coffee maker, all the cooking essentials you need, and seating for 4 at the counter. Additional counter table (which has built-in charging ports) with seating for 3 against the window with mountain views. The kitchen has an entry door to the back part of the wrap around porch which has a beautiful black walnut dining table with seating for 8.

- LIVING ROOM – Best view in the house with the oversized windows almost extending from floor to ceiling! Beautiful stone wood burning fireplace, comfortable recliner, two wooden rocking chairs and a 3 seater coach perfect for gathering together to just talk or to enjoy the 50” smart TV on top of the fireplace mantle.

LOFT:

- BEDROOM – Open concept loft with a king size bed with a premium mattress. Two nightstands (on each side of the bed) come equipped with USB charging ports. Also includes a writing desk that has the option to use sitting down in the chair or adjusting the table to a standing position workspace. Use the lamp on the desk which has a built-in charging port for all of your charging needs! Includes a large window with views to the east side of the property. Additionally, has views through the large living room windows of the mountains.

- LOWER LEVEL PORCH – Includes a porch on the lower level that is partially covered over the additional outdoor dining table that seats up to 7. A Weber grill is also provided for house guests use (22 inch original kettle premium charcoal grill with built-in thermometer). The porch also extends with no coverage for extra room for activities.

- OUTDOOR PATIO - ***NEW*** Newly built outdoor patio as of March 2025 that is located in front of the driveway and separate from the home. Approximately 10 x 17 feet, covered and with beautiful mountain and forest views! Another great outdoor space to relax and enjoy your stay!

- MURAL - Beautiful local artwork on both sides of the wall in the lower level porch perfect for taking pictures and social media posts!

- FIREPIT AREA – Stone fire pit surrounded by 4 Adirondack chairs with cup holders and tray tables underneath STRING LIGHTS in a cozy space with partial mountain views.

- EXTERIOR SECURITY CAMERAS - There are four (4) security cameras with video and audio on the outside of the house to help us keep an eye on the property remotely. The entire outside of our property is covered by these security cameras and they will remain on 24/7.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

- PETS, EMOTIONAL SUPPORT AND SERVICE ANIMALS - We love animals, however, NO pets are allowed in the home. Additionally, please note that due to certain circumstances, we are not able to accommodate service animals or emotional support animals in our home and have been granted an Airbnb exemption. We encourage you to contact Airbnb directly for further information regarding this policy.

- HOUSE RULES - No parties permitted in the house or on the property. Additionally, NO smoking or vaping is allowed in the house and we ask that you DO NOT leave cigarette butts on the ground, outside porches or property.

- CHANGES TO RESERVATION - If there are changes to the number of guests from booking to arrival, please let us know at least 72 hours prior to arrival and additional fees may apply. Guests above the maximum capacity of 7 are not allowed.

- LOCATION - The home and parking area are located directly off of a paved neighborhood road.

- ACCESS TO HOME - Access to the home requires three steps down on garden rocks and then 5 steps up to the patio to enter the home. Multiple steps required to get to the loft upstairs and also multiple steep steps to get down to the lower level. Alternative entry to the lower level through the bottom patio area which requires 5 steps down plus walking down a sloped path. No ramps available.

- ACCOMMODATIONS FOR CHILDREN - Upon request, we have a pack and play with sheets, high chair and stroller available for our littlest guests. Please note that the surrounding area of part of the outdoor fire pit does not have a fence and has a slope down the mountain. Additionally, there are stairs in the home. This is our home away from home so we visit often and take our little ones. It is a great place for the family, however, adult supervision is required at all times.

- TOILETRIES - Some toiletries MAY be provided as a courtesy to our guests but are not intended to cover full stay; including but not limited to toilet paper, shampoo/conditioner, bath soap, hand soap, kitchen soap and sponge, dishwasher powder packs, laundry detergent, firewood, trash bags, coffee pods and tea bags.

Located on 24 acres of pasture with a panoramic view of the North Georgia Mountains, we are also home to the Barn at Young Harris, an event venue. You are welcome you to use the pavilions, fire pit, corn hole games and deck over looking Brasstown Bald Creek. Schedule an hour during your stay to meet our Scottish Highland Cows. Deer love our pastures and can be seen in the early morning or at dusk grazing in the fields. We also have the occasional turkey roaming the property. In addition to the wildlife, we are now home to several Scottish Highland Cows who have stolen our hearts and are such a joy to have on the property.

The Cottage at Pine Ridge

A whimsical and enchanting place to gather with loved ones. Nestled on the edge of a pine ridge, this five bedroom cottage boasts three full bathrooms and a laundryroom. There are plenty of spaces for you to enjoy. The first being our lovely porch that greets you when you arrive.
You can cook a meal for the masses in our updated and fully equipped kitchen featuring two, five burner stainless stoves. The dining room seats fourteen around a large farmhouse table.

The space
In the dining room, you will also find The Country Cafe` offering complimentary coffee, latte, cappuccino, and hot tea, that you prepare with our Keurig K-Cafe. The living room has two seating areas, a seasonal gas fireplace, and a flat-screen TV that you can choose from our DVDs or stream, from your media providers using our WiFi.
The fun starts in our game room where you can shoot some pool, play air hockey, or try your hand at foosball. You can gather around the pub table for a game of poker or pick from our large selection of board games and video games. From here you can step out onto our back porch where rocking chairs and other seating are provided just right for conversation, or a quiet moment listening to the sounds of nature.
The fun doesn't stop there head outside to our long field bordered by a babbling brook, where you can enjoy a picnic, making smores around the firepit. Let the games begin, starting with volleyball and badminton. Then throw a few horseshoes or set up a game of good ole croquette.
When you are ready to venture out, you are close to all that Northeast Georgia has to offer: Unicoi State Park features waterfall hikes, swimming, fishing, or boating at the lake.

We do accept two dogs upon request with an additional cleaning fee of $100.00 that will be billed as a special request after check-in.

Please keep bedroom doors closed. Any excessive pet hair found in bedrooms will incur a extra charge.

Pets are not to be left unattended at the cottage.

Pets brought in without notifying us in a message request and accepting our pet policy will be charged $500.00.
