Hope's Cottage at Red Top Estate, is a quaint 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home located in the heart of Aiken's Historic District. Built originally for Mrs. C. Oliver Iselin (Hope) while she constructed her home on what is now Hopelands Gardens, this house is the original house on the Red Top Estate. Hopelands Gardens, with the Aiken Thoroughbred Racing Hall of Fame & Museum, is located across the street. Downtown Aiken, minutes away, offers shopping and culinary experiences galore. The Green Boundary Club is a 5-minute walk and the famous Palmetto Golf Club, which is open to visitors during Masters week, is a 2-minute drive or 5-minute walk. The owners live next door so if you needed anything they were right there, we did not but it was nice to know that they were right there. Location is very quiet but also close to downtown. - "Beautiful little vintage 2BR, 1 BA brick cottage with original wood floors, back deck, and screened front porch. Despite being on a main road, it was surprisingly quiet and felt secure. Just minutes away from downtown Augusta, shopping, and restaurants, you couldn’t ask for a better location! The beds were super comfy. Bedding was soft and cozy. Full kitchen with original cupboards, porcelain drainboard sink, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, new electric range and refrigerator/freezer allowed me to cook for myself, family & friends. Ceiling fans in all the rooms helped the A/C keep it cool despite very hot days and high humidity. Plenty of seating in the living room for our family movie night! Bathroom was vintage with penny tiles on the floor and a bathtub/shower. Plenty of hot water too! Suggestions: I donated pull chains for the fans in LR, kitchen, and one bedroom so I could control fans & lights separately. Task lighting was a little sparse - but night lights were strategically placed where needed most. A small kitchen table and chairs would keep guests from eating in the living room! Nightstands in the back bedroom and a rod and hangers in the closet would make it perfect. Loved having a smart tv in that room for sure! Regardless, the host was amazing and I will definitely book again for my next trip to visit my son. Loved it. ❤️👌🥰"

Boundary Ave. where the Live Oaks create a "canopy" over the street and the historic Colleton Ave. The cottage has exposed wood beams, butcher block countertops, tiled shower/floor, with a soft leather couch & new tempurpedic mattress and quality bedding/towels/linens to make your stay more comfortable.

Beautifully appointed, quiet, and private 2-br, 1.5 bath guest house on one floor, just 10 minutes from downtown Aiken. The space
The property can accommodate up to 8 horses short-term, with 4 dry stalls and 7 paddocks available for self-care. Horses are $25/night/horse or $300/month. The entire property is fenced with with 3-board fencing and a gated entry. For stays over one month, additional cleanings will be provided every 30 days upon request. For shorter stays, additional cleanings can be provided at your request for an additional $80/cleaning at guest's expense.
Guest access
Guests have full access to the guest house and the yard. You are welcome to walk the property and meet its many residents (horses, dogs, cats, and chickens). All we ask is that you don’t feed any of the animals without permission. There is also an empty lot next door owned by the neighboring church. We do have permission to use the ball field and walk their trails.
Other things to note
One friendly, well-mannered, house trained dog or cat is welcome with a $25 non refundable pet deposit. Additional pets welcome on a case-by-case basis. Guest is responsible for any damage done by their pet. Please communicate that you would like to bring more than one pet before making your reservation. Please note that while the yard is fenced for large animals (horses), the yard is not fenced to contain dogs. It is highly recommended that your animal remain on a leash at all times outdoors.

Up to 4 dry stalls and paddocks available for an additional $25/horse/night or $300/month. Additional space for up to 4 horses available for full turn-out.

We are on well and septic. NOTHING can be flushed except toilet paper. Do NOT flush feminine products, “flushable wipes,” baby wipes, paper towels, napkins, etc. Any plumbing emergencies due to flushing anything other than toilet paper will be the sole responsibility of the tenant.

Air conditioner and heat are central units. Please keep A/C around 72 degrees or higher and heat at or below 71.

The cottage sleeps six with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. In the middle of the cottage is the great room with an open floor plan and high ceilings. The atmosphere is relaxed and secluded yet you are only minutes away from downtown Aiken and Aiken’s Horse Park and polo fields.
During your stay you will have access to all modern amenities. The kitchen is fully equipped with brand new appliances. Laundry facilities are in a built-in closet by the kitchen. The cottage has beautiful cedar hardwood floors throughout. Get cozy with an electric fireplace in the living room, a fire pit outside and wood burning stove in the master bedroom.

The Black Sheep Cottage is perfect for equine travelers and for those looking for a unique stay. Convenient location to most Equestrian events. Bruce's Field is only a 5 min commute. Stable View is an 18 min commute.

Welcome to the Charles Hammond House Cottage. This structure is as old as the main house, dating back to the 18th century. It has been thoughtfully renovated with the intention of giving you modern day amenities wrapped in the nostalgia of being wrapped in a rural cabin during the 18th century. The hand-hewn beams have been preserved and left open for display in living room space. You can still see the axe mark strikes of the colonial era carpenters shaping trees not building materials.

This fully stocked retreat offers quality linens, a complete chef’s kitchen, wood-burning stove, BBQ, beautiful back porch, and fire pit. With 3 independent heating and cooling zones, it comfortably sleeps 4.
Tucked into a private corner on a working horse farm, “The Shed” offers serene views and abundant natural light, all balanced between a short drive to downtown Aiken and the surrounding horse venues.

To get you started during you stay, the kitchen is stocked with fresh spices and condiments, basic baking needs, storage containers, coffee, a selection of teas, paper goods, dishwasher and laundry supplies, charcoal for the grill, and split wood for the wood burning stove.

The space
The Black Sheep Cottage offers a tranquil nature setting located only 2.7 miles from Downtown Aiken.

The cottage sleeps six with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. In the middle of the cottage is the great room with an open floor plan and high ceilings. This large communal space connects the kitchen to the dining and living area that opens to the outside deck where you can enjoy the beautiful tree canopy, bird song and horses grazing in the background.

During your stay you will have access to all modern amenities. The kitchen is fully equipped with brand new appliances. Laundry facilities are in a built-in closet by the kitchen. The cottage has beautiful cedar hardwood floors throughout. Get cozy with an electric fireplace in the living room, a fire pit outside and wood burning stove in the master bedroom.

The Black Sheep Cottage is perfect for equine travelers and for those looking for a unique stay. Horses will enjoy a green paddock and a horse run-in shed during their stay on the farm (additional $30/night).

Need to travel with your horse? We have a paddock (turnout) and run in shed. We have a second run in for the hot summer months under a cool, shaded tree canopy.

Horse fee: $30/night. Equine travelers must provide their own feed.

Equestrians must clean stall/paddock daily and return it to its original condition. Wheelbarrow and pitchfork provided.
Manure must go in the designated container behind the shed ($100 pickup fee or take it with you).

We have neighbors with horses surrounding our estate and you will see horses grazing in the paddock close to the cottage.

Original siding on the exterior sets the stage for the front porch's inviting entry. Inside, modernized in 2017, you'll find 2 queen bedrooms, 2 full baths, 1 working gas fireplace, a dining room, a living room and a large eat-in kitchen. The brand new kitchen has granite counters, a dishwasher, and electric stove and microwave. Spend time on the covered back porch and immerse yourself in the beautiful gardens and the surrounding equestrian properties.

Guests have access to the entire cottage. Entry is provided using a keybox code at the side door of the cottage.

As the cottage is in the horse district, we ask that guests respect the quiet neighborhood and understand that horse and rider have the right of way when passing on the dirt roads.

Also, you may inquire as to availability of horse stalls nearby for rent.

The "Community Fee" listed in the pricing is the 3% occupancy tax charged by the City of Aiken and will be remitted to the City.

Pets are welcome but there is a $50 pet fee. Please let us know in advance if you plan to bring your dog.

The Colley Cottage is a 3 bedroom, 2 full bath, cottage with a spacious living room and a fully equipped kitchen at Stable View that sleeps 5-6 people. The master bedroom has a king size bed and a chaise lounge. Bedroom two has a queen bed and the third bedroom has a twin trundle bed. There is a washer and dryer within the house.

The stalls and paddocks are available on the property (for an additional charge), and you are welcome to bring your horses.
