Welcome to our quaint little cottage nestled in the heart of old Summerville. The cottage is a little over a century old.; and, actually pre-dates the main house. We tried hard to strike a balance between updating the property and preserving its authentic historic charm. The cottage enjoys the shade of beautiful, majestic oak trees whose limbs almost touch the ground. Guests are allowed to tour the gardens next to the main house, built by the Prettyman family when Summerville was a sleepy little town.
The cottage has 2 bedrooms, one with a king-bed, the other with a full bed that accommodates 4 comfortably . Brand-new range, microwave, refrigerator, and washer/dryer . Also, new 4K HD TV's in living area and master bedroom. Kitchen is fully-stocked with coffee-maker ,toaster, blender , cookware, and utensils for those that like to fix their own meals. However, with so many stellar restaurants in the area, dining out is often the best option.

- "Perfect for us and our two kiddos. Location was perfect for where we needed to be and wanted to go. Property was clean, decorated and furnished nicely. Very quiet. Nice to have access to the garden and whatnot. (Tip for families with little littles - I wouldn’t say the inside is toddler friendly - too many tempting and breakable items. Luckily, My kiddos are older.) Our only negative was internet was a little slower than what we needed/expected as husband had to work remotely while there but it wasn’t a deal breaker; he simply used his hotspot and was perfectly fine and set up his stuff in the dining room. George (lives in main house) made sure we had paper each day and is sweet and friendly. Allison (owner/VRBO) is fantastic - prompt to reply to any questions and extremely helpful. The meticulously restored Cottage is a former servants' quarters for this property which has one of the oldest homes in Summerville dating from ca. 1812. The main house and the Cottage have been the focus of over 40 years attention to proper restoration by many fine craftsmen from the historic preservation community of Charleston and the Low Country. The Cottage measures approximately 800 sq' and is approached by its own private paved drive with private parking. Outside the Cottage is a large brick patio surrounded by boxwood, azaleas and camellias and a pleasing water feature. Many magnolia trees and live oaks surround the Cottage which is about 150' behind the main house. The Cottage is completely self-contained with a full kitchen, bath/shower, living room with fireplace as well as a large bedroom with Queen 4 poster bed and sitting area. The living room and bedroom both have high cathedral ceilings. The roof of the Cottage is standing seam tin and makes for magnificent sleep during a rain storm. Guests have been telling us for many years that nothing has been overlooked in the decor or amenities for the Cottage. The kitchen is fully equipped with new stainless appliances and a granite counter top. There is a range, refrigerator/freezer with ice maker, disposal, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, Keurig coffee maker, pots, pans, dishes and utensils. The bath has a tiled tub/shower and pedestal sink. Wide board heart pine floors are throughout. Linens are provided and a washer/dryer is available for guest use at the Cottage.

The beds were super comfy. The estate grounds are spectacular set in a quiet neighborhood and within a leisurely walk to historic Summerville. The kitchenette was stocked with coffee pods and the fridge had courtesy bottled water. Use of the full-size clothes washer & dryer was a plus. Host Allison & Ron were excellent hosts welcoming us to enjoy Happy Hour on Friday evening with them and other cottage guests. We were able to use their outdoor grill top to cook up our breakfast. Their pool was also available for our use. We would definitely return for another visit. Thank you, Allison & Ron for making our stay comfortable and relaxing."

We spent every morning on the large front porch drinking our coffee and in the afternoon enjoying a happy hour drink. The cottage is located behind the main house Bed and Breakfast and has every amenity that you can imagine. The location is quiet, yet you are close enough to walk to town where there are many restaurants and quaint shops. There is a large grocery store 1 mile away and a 14 mile walking/bike path within walking distance. Carol & Jerry are great hosts and were very thoughtful about our stay. We enjoyed staying there so much that we will have already booked a 2 month stay at the end of the year!"

- "Our 5 weeks here were a joy. We feel lucky to have found this garden-wrapped property for our working escape from Michigan's gray and cold. The house's 4 king bedrooms each have privacy, colorful uncluttered decor, luxury linens, and excellent lighting. Three of them include desk areas, which we needed. Our various guests had ensuite bathrooms and the well-equipped kitchen could feed us all. A dining area could seat 8 or more, and the tableware was of good quality, with a choice of fine stoneware and glass, or less breakable sets for outdoor use. Excellent cookware and fixtures. The photos don't really do justice to the expert color and texture choices which went into creating this ample space for us and our visitors. A covered verandah has three seating areas facing a landscaped garden. A side deck encloses yet another place to lounge or work and also eat outside. Birdsong all day, owls at dusk. Wifi coverage is excellent and reaches outdoors. Parking for 2 or more guest cars is safe and well off the street. Laundry, power points, 5 flat screen TVs, fans, A/C, dehumidifiers, window blinds, mirrors, all the "little" things which if off-key can mar your vacation, WORKED. You don't need to bring clothes hangers, beach towels, laundry baskets, hair dryers. Our host was 100% available and reliable for any house issues, local info, and Charleston tourism in general. Quiet local streets of historic homes, mature trees and family-owned shops made every walk out the gate a good one. The drive distances were worth the peaceful spot: 21-27 mins to lower, historic Charleston. 20 mins to plantations on the Ashley River. We were so happy with this property!"

Sacred Pine Cottage is a tiny home, your tiny home away from home. When designing the SPC we wanted to put emphasis on some of the things we love most about our town. The SPC has a very earth toned feel with live plants and wood finishes. We captured the beauty of our town with photography throughout. The appliances are retro and the ambiance of the cottage should give you a peaceful and comfortable experience. The yard is manicured & maintained with a beautiful outdoor experience.

The space
The SPC has a fluid open floor plan. We designed the layout to have minimal doors and walls. The entire condo we designed from the size (300 square feet) down to every small detail and color scheme. Building SPC was a vision 2 years ago and are so excited to see it come to life. We want our guests to have a pleasant stay while they are here enjoying our town (Summerville) and our beloved Charleston.

***Please let us know if you have a dog allergy! We have 2 Frenchies and a Doberman. The dogs have not been inside the condo, but occasionally are in the yard with us!

The cottage is in downtown Summerville's Historic District. It is 1.5 blocks from Main St. behind a Victorian home built in 1890. The cottage is very comfortable and cozy with a queen size bed, sofa, easy chairs and fast internet. The bathroom is roomy with handicapped railings beside the commode and bathtub. A skylight provides light even on cloudy days. There are plants in the cottage and lots of artwork. Restaurants and entertainment are within walking distance. Ceilings are 9 feet.

The space
Expect to be comfortable! Summerville is a charming town with lots of small shops and restaurants. Many are within walking distance of the cottage. There are also events in the town square from time to time. The cottage has a roomy bedroom with the bathroom off the bedroom. Enter into the large living area with a small kitchenette to the rear left side. To the right are french doors leading to a sunporch. There is a small workstation on this sunporch.

The cottage is a stand-alone structure. The whole house is yours. Please note it is a self-catering house. We do not provide food, etc.

Other things to note
Our cottage was built as an extremely sturdy house - not a converted garage or out building. The location is extremely safe, very close to Town Square. We do not have security cameras because we believe guests should have privacy during their vacations. Smoking is allowed on the Charleston battery bench, right outside the front door.

Gorgeous 1 bedroom cottage nestled in downtown Summerville. The cottage is tucked back with a private fenced in yard and outdoor space overlooking a beautiful live oak tree. The cottage is fully equipped and includes a full size kitchen and separate private bedroom. Walk to boutiques, day spas, restaurants, and bars just 4-5 blocks away. Downtown Charleston and several beaches are located just 35-45 minutes away. NO SMOKING OR VAPING INSIDE OR OUTSIDE. No pets.

The space
The cottage is set back from the street on a wooded corner lot. It is private and completely fenced in. The newly built 400 sq ft cottage feels spacious with vaulted wood ceilings and lots of natural light. The interior is a blend of contrasting natural wood accents with chic touches including a large crystal chandelier. The main room features an open living room/kitchen concept. The kitchen offers full-size appliances including a refrigerator, microwave, oven, toaster, personal blender and coffee maker. The kitchen is fully equipped with cookware, silverware, bowls, plates, glasses, mugs etc. There is a separate private bedroom with a double pillow top queen mattress and ceiling fan. The walk-in closet includes storage for guests to hang their clothes along with an iron/ironing board, emergency supplies, games, and extra pillows and blankets. The bathroom features a custom walk-in tile shower, bath towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and a hair dryer. The private exterior includes a small deck with a bistro table for guests to sit outside, listen to the birds, and enjoy nature.

Guests will have private use of the cottage and fenced in yard. Access to the loft above the bedroom is prohibited for safety reasons.

SMOKING/VAPING:
We do not allow smoking/vaping of any kind on the property, including outside. We appreciate your respect by not booking/requesting/inquiring our place if you or any other guests are smokers.

PETS:
While we ourselves love animals and have plenty of them next door, we have some family members with SEVERE allergies and for the health and safety of them and other guests with severe allergies, we have committed to making this an animal-free zone. We ask our guests to please make other arrangements for their pets while visting our cottage.

EARLY/LATE ARRIVAL:
If you need an early check-in/late check-out, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate such requests.

TV:
The TV is a smart Fire TV. You may watch free channels or sign into your own accounts (such as Amazon Prime, Hulu, Netflix etc.). Guests are responsible for signing out of any personal accounts they use.

CLEAN & COMFORTABLE:
Your comfort is a top priority! The space is thoroughly cleaned between each stay, and ALL linens, towels, and bedding (including bedspreads/throw blankets) are freshly washed after every guest. You can relax knowing everything is clean, fresh, and ready for you to enjoy.

DEHUMIDIFIER:
For our guests comfort, we provide a small dehumidifier that can be used if needed depending on the season/humidity comfort levels. It is kept in the closet. Guests are welcome to turn it on/off, whichever they prefer. If needed, the instruction manual can be found in our Guest Welcome Book.

NOISE:
A train track runs through downtown Summerville and is active. Due to the proximity, the train can be heard from the cottage. We live next door and when we first moved in we were concerned it would wake us at night but it has not been an issue for us. However, for any guests that are light sleepers, we do provide ear plugs and have a white noise machine in the bedroom.

GROCERY STORES:
There is a Piggly Wiggly located 6 blocks from the house. Aldi's is 1.4 miles and Harris Teeter is 2.1 miles.

Our 100 year old cottage is in town within one mile of shops and restaurants. You can drive to the beaches in less than an hour or Charleston in 30 minutes. Fully yet simply furnished. Window units and radiators. Wi-Fi. Smart TV (no cable). Off-street, gravel parking. The cottage is 350 square feet. The cottage is close to West Richardson Avenue. We typically rent monthly and the rate is discounted from our nightly rate (the only option to show price).

The space
While positioned very close to the main house, the door opens to it's own private outside area. It was originally only one room. We added a step down into a bedroom and carved out space for a small kitchenette in one corner and the small bathroom (shower only--no tub) in the other corner. There is a built-in closet with a new washer and dryer unit in the bedroom. There are 5 brick steps into the cottage and also a small step from the parking area into a small front yard.

The cottage sits very close to a busy main road--West Richardson Avenue. This can be noisy when outside but once inside the cottage is quiet. For this reason we no longer keep outside furniture for this cottage. Also, while close to town and walkable, you will have to walk along the side of our property and the next one for a few yards before reaching sidewalks.

PLEASE READ!! Our backyard cottage is 948 sf (this is small y’all) with one bedroom and one sunroom -both downstairs. The bedroom has a queen sized bed and sunroom a day bed- a twin sized mattress on top and twin sized trundle (this is a mattress under the bed that rolls out and stays on the floor).

!! The cottage has one bathroom that is only accessed by going through the master bedroom!!

PLEASE NOTE:

Our unique space is really best suited to single-family units. And no more than two adults.

We are unable to host events or parties.

We have a unique tight/ shared driveway that can accommodate only one vehicle. No oversized vehicles.

Please note, there is NO cable television- there is Apple TV.

The fireplaces are decorative. Due to the age of the home, NO FIRE please.

Nina's is your own full, private cottage nestled in the backyard of an historic home in downtown Summerville. Park right by your door.
It is a charming, cozy, comfortable spot in the heart of a vibrant, southern town.
An easy, two block walk to restaurants, bars, shops (boutique and antique), historic theater, and the arts. Stroll through the 16 acre Azalea Park/Sculpture Garden across the street, or relax and enjoy the sunset from your large screened porch.

The space
When I travel, I insist on clean and safe. Privacy is a plus to me. That's Nina's........clean, safe, and private. The cottage’s interior is not large, probably 500-600 sq ft. It has a high ceiling with a loft, previously used for storage. (You may notice the ladder in the photos....). There is a nice, airy feel to the living area and full kitchen.
The bedroom is quite small, with a comfortable, new queen bed and television.
The screened porch is huge, with comfortable sofa and chairs, chair swing, and table and chairs for dining al fresco........and relaxing serenity.
There is a Pet Fee in place, with breed/weight restrictions. Please ask before you bring your pet. See “other details” in listing.
Also, there is a 50amp outlet outside, for charging your vehicle.

Guest access
You'll have the entire backyard to yourself. Enjoy the sound of birds, owls, church bells, trains, and an occasional Friday night football game in the distance, but mostly the quiet!
My yard is fenced, but unfortunately your yard is not fenced.

Walk to the Farmers Market on Saturday mornings, behind Town Hall.
Enjoy "Third Thursday" every month, 5:00pm-8:00pm, with shops open late, live music, civic and art shows.

The space
Life is simpler at the Cottage for so many reasons. It's in the country on 3 quiet acres, and is just 2 easy minutes to I-26.

30 minutes to Charleston's Meeting Street Exit.
45 minutes to Atlantic ocean beaches.
20 minutes to fresh-water beaches on Lake Moultrie.

There's a new basketball court with several basketball hoops. Basketballs provided.

You'll sleep well, and many of our guests ask about the comfortable mattresses to purchase one for themselves. There are darkening shades, TVs and plenty of space in every bedroom.

The hot water tank and HVAC system are new, so you'll have plenty of steaming hot water and ice cold air conditioning.

The Wi-Fi is strong, reliable and easy to connect to anywhere on the property.

BEDROOM #1 - KING
Very spacious and charming. Historic architecture from a home in downtown Charleston (late 1700s) makes it even more beautiful. The bedroom also has heavy darkening curtains, mood lighting, a vaulted ceiling and fan, a smart television with premium cable, and deep His/Her closets to get your luggage out of sight. There's also an antique fireplace mantle and relaxing sitting area. The bedroom features a small private deck facing the back yard. Enjoy some star gazing, morning coffee or the quiet of the back yard.


BEDROOM #2 - 2 TWINS
This bedroom is very large with vaulted ceiling and fan, new large Smart TV, and a desk.


SLEEPING AREA #3 - TWIN
This comfortable bed is in a large hallway closet, with air-conditioning/heat, oscillating fan, and louvered doors for privacy. The mattress is on the floor and the ceiling is low, but it's very cozy and many guests tell us that there are arguments about who gets to sleep there.

Bedrooms and the bathroom are on the 2nd floor.

Stairs are gently sloped and easy to manage.

Wi-Fi is fast and strong throughout the house, decks, yard and driveway.

There's a full eat-in kitchen with plenty of counter space and full-size appliances.

The bathroom is large and has two pedestal sinks, a separate shower and a separate jacuzzi-bathtub. Soft mood lights surround the ceiling. Put on some relaxing music and pour some bubble bath into the warm tub, get in and feel all of the stress float away and sore muscles disappear with the jets.

The private screened-in porch can be used for extra eating and living space. It faces the barn and accesses the property.

There are 2 parking spaces within a few feet of the front door, and more parking is available if you need it. The entry is step-free.

Pets are welcomed, so be sure to read that section.

The owners live beside the Cottage, and can quickly help with anything you need. They share the driveway, but you might not meet unless you want to.

Extra cleaning supplies are in the kitchen and bathroom. Extra linens are provided on each closet shelf.

Guests have private full use of the Cottage, two parking spaces, and the front and back yards.

There are 3 evolving acres that you're welcome to explore.

There is space for larger vehicles. Just let us know so that we can direct you to the special parking area.

There's a new basketball court with basketballs provided, too!

Owner occasionally uses garage, which is attached to the Cottage.

The owners also live beside the Cottage, so they can help quickly with anything that might come up.

Since the property is in the country, the occasional bug might get in the house. However, the property is treated every quarter by a professional pest control agency who is happy to re-treat if requested.

You also might see deer, small green lizards, owls and other wildlife. Currently, Andy the Armadillo lives in our backyard and is nocturnal, so you might see him, too. New Notice...Andy now has a wife!
