Tucked away on 54 acres in the Lowcountry, this rustic cabin is the perfect retreat for those seeking solace and relaxation while visiting Summerville or Charleston.
This 1000 sq ft cabin includes a full kitchen & bath, 2 bedrooms, a large living room, and gorgeous views of our hobby farm. Fresh eggs are provided for guests.
We are just 15 minutes from Historic Downtown Summerville, Middleton Place, Drayton Hall, and Magnolia Plantation. Charleston and local beaches are a short 40 min drive.
The space
Our unique cabin is located on what remains of an old rice plantation property located in Summerville. The two bedrooms are a modern day addition to this previously dry cabin from before the 1970s. You'll enter the property through a private gate under grand oak trees and down a gravel driveway to a serene setting on the pond.
The cabin features original weathered exterior siding that was likely milled on site during it's construction. Inside, the cabin features warm, honey-colored wood walls that impart a cozy and rustic ambiance. Large windows allow ample natural light illuminating the room and highlighting the rich tones in the wood.
You'll find a fully equipped kitchen with full size refrigerator, gas cook range, oven, microwave, toaster, drip coffee pot, and fresh eggs from our chickens. The living room is equipped with a gas fireplace for winter months and a ceiling fan for summer. The entire cabin has central air & heat with an additional window unit for extra comfort. Please note, the cabin does not have a dishwasher.
There are two large bedrooms with a King and Queen bed available for sleeping. Memory foam mattresses will help ensure you have a restful sleep. Extra blankets and pillows are also provided. Both bedrooms have ceiling fans and an extra box fan is provided for white noise if needed.
The bathroom has a tub/shower combo with grab bars installed. Shampoo, conditioner, fluffy towels, and a hair dryer are available. Enjoy endless hot water from the tankless water heater.
The cabin is equipped with Wi-Fi, a smart TV, and Netflix. There are also card games, books, and wildlife guides to help identify birds and plants you may see around the property. This is a nature preserve and the cabin sits on the edge of a large pond.
Enjoy your morning coffee on the screened porch & deck overlooking a huge pond full of wildlife. You'll be sure to see wild turkey, wood storks, blue herons, green herons, white ibis, egrets, anhingas, cormorants, turtles, and even alligators. In the evening, enjoy star gazing or sit around the fire kettle.
We operate Cool Blow as a Hobby Farm! Don't forget to schedule a private time to visit the farm animals. For safety, please let us make the introductions to livestock. We have 2 longhorn cows, 2 golden retrievers, 4 orange farm cats, and over 100 chickens! Follow the fun on our Cool Blow Farms social media pages.
The Legend Oaks Public Golf course is a 10 minute walk from the property. Downtown Summerville is a short drive and offers numerous dining options. Don't miss the local Farmer's Market every Saturday morning. Historic downtown is filled with fun shops and antique stores. The charming city of Charleston is also a short drive from our location.

This property contains an electric fence for farm animals. Please do not explore without discussing with the host for safety reasons. This property may not be suitable for young children, especially if they are unsupervised.

Nestled on the pond, this rustic cabin, with weathered exterior, tells tales of years gone by. It's a place where imperfections only enhance it's character and signs of wear add to it's charm. While it's not brand new, it exudes a unique character that only time can bestow. It's not about perfection here; it's about embracing the beauty of imperfection and creating lasting memories. The cabin is kept very clean and in spite of all our best work, please don't be surprised if you see some of South Carolina's infamous critters during your visit. Don't be startled if you come across Palmetto bugs, small lizards, and other insects as they are very common in our state. This is a nature preserve and the cabin sits on the edge of a pond. In a place as lush and humid as South Carolina, they tend to make themselves at home too. In an older home, these are even more difficult to eliminate completely.
