Tip Ellen is an arrogantly shabby home on Pawleys Island and a survivor of Hurricane Hugo. Built with love and care, this home creates a wonderful setting for an affordable, family beach vacation.

Just steps to the ocean, guests will love gathering on the wide screen porch with brand new rockers and furniture where they will hear and smell the warm ocean breezes. Featuring new furniture throughout, all new bedding for the 2022 year, hardwood floors, granite countertop and so much more. Inside the home features a cozy living, dining and kitchen combination that features cable TV, microwave, dining table, comfortable seating and more. If only the beautiful knotty pine walls could talk..oh the stories of families playing cards or enjoying a meal would be echoed.

The home has four bedrooms and two bathrooms. Bedding accommodations are one queen, two doubles, one double, and two doubles. Waverly Cottage comes complete with the expected uneven floors and other “flaws” of a historic home. We like to think that’s part of its charm. However, it is not appropriate for the elderly or anyone with mobility issues.

We strictly prohibit smoking, pets, parties, and children. However, we strongly encourage long walks on the beach, wine on the screened porch, and exploring the beauty and history of the Waccamaw Neck.

Cindy, the manager, is super efficient and responded to all our texts and messages in seconds. The communication was great. There are miles of sidewalks just out the door, for walks or bike riding . This was by far the best property we have rented over the years . Thanks to the Gilmores and Cindy for making our stay in Pawleys such a wonderful experience"

Vaulted ceilings in large living area w/ palladium window and shutters, hard wood floors, ceiling fans, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, updated tiled bathroom w/ glass shower door and new vanities, small, lean to, carport in back, front door and back door, WiFi and cable, master has updated full bathroom, 2 car driveway, room for a camper. New HVAC, washer and dryer, deck, you can see the ocean from the home but you can’t walk to it without going down Hwy 17. No HOA, live on a corner, no neighbors to speak of, ADT security, 62” tv. Everything anyone could need is here! I still have pictures to upload but it will be soon! One of the bedrooms is more for storage. There isn’t a bed in there but any air mattress would fit great in there. And so extremely convenient to EVERYTHING in Pawleys Island.

Feel the original Pawleys "pull" from this remodeled 1950’s cottage just one block from marsh and the South Causeway bridge. One king and one queen bed will accommodate up to 4 guests. Out back you will find a large deck space under a very large beautiful old oak tree. The front screened in porch provides the perfect place to sip on a glass of sweet tea and watch the neighbors go by. Guests will find a newly fenced yard and an outside beach shower.
The space
Small, historic cottage that has been remodeled with modern amenities but still retaining the charm of Pawleys Island.

The home includes a small living room, a dinette set for four, a TV room, first bedroom with a king size bed, smart TV, dresser and a large desk, second bedroom with a queen bed and small closet. There is a laundry room off the main bedroom with closet shelves and a hanging rack, the kitchen is fully equipped, including a stocked coffee stand. Both bathrooms have showers with a bench.

Out back you will find a nice wood deck with a table, umbrella and 4 chairs, also an outside shower and propane grill.

The front of the home includes a traditional Pawleys Island screened in porch, 4 rockers & 2 side tables. Either porch is perfect for relaxing while sipping sweet tea and telling stories.

There is a driveway which can park 2 vehicles easily.
Other things to note
Our guests rent both bikes and golf carts for their trips to the beach. The closest beach access is a 12 minute bike or cart ride. The marsh is a beautiful landscape with picturesque birds and tall sea grass. It provides the perfect picture setting. Many folks fish or crab off of the Causeway Bridge one block away. Please note we do allow a dog with pre-approval. There is no fee but there is a higher cleaning fee so please list your dog on your reservation.

Originally part of Woodville Plantation (managed by Gov. Robert F. Alston for his nephew until he attained his majority) and later the site of a country store, the cottage is surrounded by live oaks, magnolias, azaleas, and camellias. Old hardwood floors, Persian carpets, and original shiplap walls, create a cozy ambiance while the renovated kitchen and bathrooms sparkle with pristine modern fixtures and marble. The immaculate kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, flatware, cookware, Keurig coffee pot. Two bedrooms offer a king-sized bed each, luxury mattresses, and fine linens. The cottage has one full bath (walk-in shower) and a powder room (half-bath). Cable television (49” flatscreen) and wireless internet are provided. The cottage also offers central heat and air and a full-size washer and dryer, with ironing board and iron for your convenience. Complete with the uneven original floorboards and other “flaws” often found in a historic home, we like to think that’s part of its charm. It is probably not appropriate for anyone with mobility issues. In fact, there is a small lip up into the kitchen that must be taken into consideration. No pets, no children, no parties.

This historic home comes complete with the quirks of a house of some age, which is part of its charm. It is not, however, advisable for those with mobility issues.
