- "Well, the house is nice inside, plenty of space. Clean. But there are some things that were a little....well, there's a "shed" chicken coop looking building in the back that's full of garbage. There are pictures of it in the pics and it's not how it looks in the pocs- its just a place where trash was thrown and there's trash stacked on top of the sinks etc so you can't use any of that area. There is no gas grill, just a rusty charcoal one among the junk at the building. It says private walk to the beach- not true. You are about a one mile walk from the beach across busy roads, mostly without sidewalks. Not a Walk that I wanted to make with 2 adults 2 kids and a dog. It says on site snorkeling and hunting in the description. Unless you're driveway snorkeling I don't see how that's possible. And the pics of a swing next to what looks like a lake- no idea where that came from. Never saw it. So yes the house itself is nice but the location is very misleading on many different levels. The beach is nowhere to be seen without a drive to it. And the fenced in backyard is very small and the junky building inside it full of trash with rusty items etc should've been cleaned up long ago. Nestled in the quiet woods on Oak Island and within street view of the Intracoastal Waterway, Snapper Cottage offers a spacious layout to make your visit as easy, comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
Relax on the platform deck under the Oak tree draped in Spanish Moss, or take an afternoon nap on the screened-in back porch. At night, when it's quiet on the island, you can hear the ocean waves in the distance and see millions of stars in the darkness.
The living room, dining area and kitchen have an open floor plan. We have a large Smart TV with a DVD player, which allows streaming. Just bring your passcodes! We also have with several family friendly movies in our DVD library. If you need to work, there's also a small desk for your use.
The kitchen is fully equipped to prepare, cook and serve meals. Included in the kitchen: Refrigerator, glass top cooking stove and oven, dishwasher, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, food processor, and blender. We have stainless steel pots and pans, pyrex baking and serving dishes, serving utensils, knives and cutting boards, a knife sharpener, whisks, spatulas, stirring spoons, spatulas, a colander, salad spinner, corkscrew and a bottle cap opener. There are plenty of plates, bowls, cups, glasses, wine glasses, and silverware.
There are two bedrooms, both with memory foam mattresses. We provide sheets, pillows, and quilts. The two beds in the bedrooms will be made up when you get here. Both bedrooms have king sized beds.
The sleeper sofa in the living room opens up to a queen size bed, and the cot is twin sized. Sheets, blankets and extra pillows for the sofa bed and twin cot are stored in the Captain's bedroom closet.
Both bathrooms are full baths, with a shower and a tub. There is a HE washing machine and dryer in the closet in the hallway. We also provide a set of bath towels and a beach towel for each guest. There are also extra towels in the hall closet for your dog.
Your dogs will love our fenced in backyard, and you'll love the ease of letting them out. We kindly ask that you to clean up your dog's solid waste, along with a $50 pet fee for each dog.
We strive to keep the cottage clean and fresh for everyone who visits-including for our guests without dogs.
We provide a small supply of paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, dish soap, dishwasher detergent, and laundry detergent for your stay. We also offer a high chair, booster seat, and step stool for the little ones, along with plenty of games and books.
We are located less than a quarter mile from the 14th St NE Veteran's Park on Yacht Drive, which is a great place to have a picnic or to go fishing. There is a small gazebo where you and several others can get out of the sun and relax on the benches. From spring to fall you'll love watching the ships, sailboats, and fishing boats go by. If you're lucky you might spot the occasional dolphin swimming, or possibly one of the smaller cruise ships.
Of course, there's the beach. It's a 0.9 mile walk through the nature trail to reach the closest beach access on foot, or a 1.4 mile drive to the closest beach access by car.
Don't overlook going through the nature trail over the marshes and Davis Canal. It may be your favorite walk ever! This area has one of the most scenic nature spots on the island, and you can only see it on foot or by small boat. Davis Canal is a fantastic place for watching sunrises and sunsets, along with spotting birds such as pelicans, hawks, cranes and great blue Herons. The water bridge trail cuts straight through and over the marshes of the brackish Davis Canal, between two rows of beach houses and ending at the 9th Place beach access.

The road you have to cross is quite busy and there are no crosswalks so keep that in mind. The teens gave their seal of approval on the house and both my husband and I enjoyed our stay immensely. Our island cottage is perfectly placed under a canopy of magnificent live oaks, just steps away from the ocean. Nestled on a quiet beach access street, central to all the best attractions, shopping and eateries on Oak Island; close to nearby Southport. Public sidewalks along E Oak Island Drive make it easy to walk or bike to your favorite spots.

Our classic cottage has been recently renovated and cheerfully decorated. With 1212 square feet and an open floor plan, there is plenty of space for you to comfortably relax. There are two living/entertaining areas in the home, both centrally connected through the galley kitchen. Two bedrooms provide enough sleeping arrangements for 4 guests. The master bedroom offers a queen bed, television and private en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom offers two twin beds (one is a trundle with an extra memory foam topper). Two full bathrooms with walk-in showers. Linens are provided (sheets, towels/washcloths) along with shampoo and soap. A full-size washer and dryer is available just off the master bedroom.

If you decide to cook in during your stay, the kitchen has all the essentials you’ll need - refrigerator, oven, microwave dishwasher, pots/pans, utensils, coffee pot, dishes. A roll of paper towels will be provided, along with dish soap and detergent.

Cable TV, wi-fi, bluetooth speaker along with some games, books and puzzles are available for your enjoyment.

For the most amazing location, there’s a restaurant right at our pier called Koco Kabana. It’s Oceanview and very good food. For Thai food we recommend Thai By The Sea-take out only. It’s just a few blocks away from the house. For great Italian food we recommend several restaurants but probably Joseph’s the most. It’s on the intercoastal right by the boat docks. For a great clean grass fed steak we recommend Traquil Harbor-they delivered our dinner to our door yesterday and it was absolutely delicious. It’s across the street from the Food Lion and not fancy but great vegetables and food. Duffers is at the Oak Island Country Club, is delicious and only 2 minutes away. We would also highly recommend you going to Southport for several amazing restaurants there that are very “hole in the wall” but totally classic. That would include Fishy Fishy, Provisions, Mr. P. and Oliver’s. This is for the local seafood. And, plan on walking around the older parts of Southport because it is really charming. Many older homes have survived all the hurricanes for some amazing reason. And it’s romantic.

The house is small and wouldn't work well for a larger group but for a single family it was great." - "Our family of four had a great time at the cottage - couldn't ask for a better location, steps from the beach - and the view from the deck is simply amazing, wonderful for morning coffee and for happy hour. The beach is wide open and perfect for all ages - great for morning walks with the dog, playing in the surf and sunbathing late into the afternoon. Fishing was easy from the beach and the pier, and loved the outdoor shower! Sitting on the porch for dinner at nearby restaurant Koko Cabana was so good, we went back twice - and we also loved going to Provisions in Southport for excellent seafood by the water. The Friday night free concert i. town was also a lot of fun, and don't miss sunset on the west tip of the island - gorgeous. We also rented a pontoon boat on the intracoastal which made for a great day trip. Beatrice was so helpful with recommendations - our only regret was we missed the turtles hatching - but we will be back!"

The cottage is nicely decorated and recently renovated with LPV flooring. It is perfect for small families, a couple's getaway and spending time with your furry friends. The cottage is a 6-minute walk to the beach for shelling, sunning and sunsets and to the Intracoastal waterway (ICW) for kayaking, SUP, crabbing and fishing! The Island's shops, restaurants, grocery and other amenities are also within a short walking distance.

The shaded fenced backyard is perfect for a game of cornhole or letting the kids or dogs run around. An outdoor shower and a separate foot shower are perfect for rinsing off the sand after a long day at the beach! A fully equipped kitchen, a gas and charcoal grill are perfect for meals at home. In the evening, relax in the wooden swing, the cozy rocking chairs on the front porch or under the string lights on the deck and feel the ocean breeze.
Linens and towels are included. Professionally cleaned prior to arrival and upon departure. Beach towels, beach wagon, beach umbrella, games and boogie boards provided. The cottage has a variety of indoor and outdoor games perfect for all ages, including cornhole. Baby gate and dog crates provided.

The Pink Cottage started as a fishing shack in 1955, the year after hurricane Hazel. In 1968 the 2 bedrooms and a bathroom were added. Also the back porch was enclosed and the kitchen was added including a large deck facing the water. In 2021 the shack was completely renovated and became The Pink Cottage. An enclosed outside shower with hot and cold water was added. The kitchen is fully furnished including a dishwasher. The pink cottage overlooks Montgomery Slough with its tidal creek where at low tide the many species of birds feed, at high tide watch for the dolphins. You may access the Slough at 17th Place West where you can catch your own shrimp, crab, or just explore the marsh with all its abundant life. You can also launch your kayak from this access. You don't have to worry about beach parking - it is just a short walk to the beach.

- "Great little house and awesome hosts. We really enjoyed the waterside views. Will definitely be back!" - "We had a wonderful stay at the Pink House.The house and furnishings are prettier than the photos and the views of the ever-changing marsh exceeded our expectations. The owners live next door and were available right away if we needed anything, but we still felt we had a private place of our own. The kitchen is very well stocked, including coffee (and decaf). If you want beach chairs and umbrellas you can rent them from a local company, but plan ahead if it’s the busy season, and if you prefer big beach towels, you might want to pack some. There are rocking chairs on the porch facing the marsh where you can relax and enjoy plenty of bird watching. It’s an easy 2-3 block walk down residential roads to get to the beach, which was quiet and absolutely gorgeous. We enjoyed long walks on the beach, and one evening we were lucky to witness tiny hatching sea turtles scrambling into the surf. The Pink House is one of my favorite places we’ve stayed and we hope to return soon."

This home welcomes up to two dogs. All pet-friendly homes include a $175 fee that covers bringing up to one dog. An additional $50 fee applies if you are bringing a second dog. Please note that dogs are the only pets permitted.

As you will find when selecting dates on the calendar, there are minimum stay requirements based on the season. There is a 7 night minimum with a mandatory Saturday to Saturday rental pattern in the peak summer months, and there is more flexibility in the slower seasons. - "This property is older however you cannot beat the location and the access to that beautiful ocean. The windows are awesome you have a direct view to the sea from the whole back side of the house. Just open the blinds and enjoy. The bathroom is standing shower only and kind of small but we made it work. Make sure to bring linens or order them. I would definitely stay here again." - "The best part of this property is the area of the strand it sits on- not many rentals so less crowded and a gorgeous area. There are many little shooed to visit just a short drive away- check out the Seaside Mermaid, Oak Island Sub Shop, Strand Outfitters… so many good places. The house itself is very dated, which isn’t a huge issue. The problems arise with a few unexpected surprises. The first was no wi-fi so uploading pics or finding things to do via the cell signal was a bit hard but it wasn’t a huge downside but definitely inconvenient. Other issues were the beds- very, very uncomfortable and old. The shower was extremely small, 32”x32”, making showering uncomfortable at best. For most people this wouldn’t be an issue but if you have a younger child it’s definitely troublesome. These were the “worst” issues and if it were just my wife and I it wouldn’t have been such an issue. The house itself could use some major updating. It needs a serious deep cleaning- light mold on some peeling wallpaper in the bathroom, decades of dust in every crevice, corner and crack and the lighting is barely serviceable and some cracking on the walls. It doesn’t make the house bad but definitely would improve the experience if it were cleaned up. On the plus side, it has a solid AC (which we kept at 76-78 when it got too muggy or lacked a breeze to keep the windows open at night). The kitchen is in decent shape and even has a dishwasher and the deck has a gorgeous view. Beach access is one house over- you have to go down the ropes access point so you don’t ruin the dunes). Since there isn’t a washer and dryer we packed over a weeks worth of clothing, towels and brought our own linens. No reason to rent those. Under the circumstances it was a good deal. We booked as a last minute whim in late February. There weren’t many left that were as good a deal as this one. Would I stay at this house again? Not with with a small family (two adults and a young child). If it were two adults only it would probably be fine."

With a beautiful Golf Club open to summer travelers and over 100 public water access points, there is an abundance of all things adventurous to do on Oak Island!
If you'd like to keep your fitness routine going while on vacation, you can get an out-of-town Gym pass at Oak Island Recreation Center. Utilize the Rec Center's ample parking, put in at the Kayak ramp, and spend hours kayaking our beautiful marshes. Sit on the lawn and enjoy a night off cooking at our Weekly Friday night "Summer Concert In The Park" with a couple of local food truck options at this family-centric Live Music event. Beach Day takes place in Oak Island on the Friday before July 4th and features all-day activities followed by fireworks on the island that evening.
Visit Historic Southport, a seafaring town just five miles from our island, for a bigger nightlife. Southport, at the confluence of the Cape Fear River and the Atlantic Ocean, features a variety of different restaurants, bars, live music and shopping. It is one of our favorite places to walk around and check out different food and live music on the weekends. There are free parking options all over town, and you can easily walk to dozens of places while enjoying the breeze from the riverfront and admiring historic homes and general store buildings that date back to the early 1800s. Southport's State Fourth of July Festival is a three-day street fair with artists from all over the state, vendors, and food. It is truly like being in an Andy Griffith episode with the parade and grand finale fireworks show over the riverfront in Southport.

The Space:
'Folly Hills' is the second house built on Oak Island. Designed by my grandfather, A Leon Capel, it was built in 1945 by a team from the Capel Rug Mill in Troy NC. Those days the island was accessible only by barge, then tractor or Jeep. Now it's a convenient 2.5 hours from Raleigh. The house has 4 comfortable bedrooms and lots of common living space to accommodate the activities of everyone in your family.
Your rental helps to preserve arguably the most special property on Oak Island, featuring a beautiful private walkway to the ocean, commanding 360-degree views, a large bowl of virgin maritime forest often filled with wildlife, and a wonderful private dock from which to fish, crab, or just watch the sun set.

Guest Access:
You'll have full run of the house, front beach, undisturbed maritime forest and dock, 68 stairs down behind the house. The parcel is just short of 5 acres. Bring mud boots if you're interested to explore the wilder parts of the property... and do remember the insects, chameleons, songbirds, raptors, deer, raccoons, and other animals you'll see have made their home there long before you.

Note: a $1000 security deposit will be held at the time of booking and released 5 days after departure. We reserve the right to withhold any amount of the deposit after evaluating the condition of the home upon departure.

The Neighborhood:
It's said my grandfather bought this property (and built the second house on the island) when he learned it was the highest point directly on the water from Maine to Florida. We don't know if that's a fact (and it could be, depending on your criteria), but it is true that from Folly Hills's lookout you have an unimpeded 360 degree view, from horizon to horizon, Bald Head Island to the South Carolina border. Behind the house runs Davis Creek, and behind it, the Intracoastal Waterway. Sixty-eight stairs lead down the back of the hill to our dock where you can catch fish, big blue claw crabs, or just watch the wildlife.

Getting Around:
A reasonable grocery selection is 10 minutes away by car at Food Lion in Yaupon Beach; a new Lowe's Foods is better, across the new Middleton Island bridge. Haag Seafood, also in Yaupon, is considered one of the region's very best. Many fresh vegetable stands pop up during summer. Driving to Southport (with its many restaurants and retailers, Walmart among others, and ferry to Bald Head) takes about 25 minutes. Here you can open the windows to let the warm ocean breeze blow through, nap while ceiling fans turn lazily in every room, enjoy sunset cocktails on the lookout tower, luxuriate in your private access to an expanse of white sand beach, rinse off in the world’s most wonderful outdoor shower — this is an enchanting experience of original North Carolina beach living like you’ll find nowhere else.

Our Renter's Agreement must be signed and $1000 security deposit and $250 pet fee must be paid prior to rental. If no issues are encountered, deposit will be refunded within 7 days of evacuation. Thanks for leaving no trace!

Interaction with Guests:
The property is managed with the help of local cleaning and repair staff. We'll be available to help as much as we can given other obligations. Please keep in mind that, no matter how hard we work to make your stay issue-free, spending time in a 80 year-old beach house is a participatory sport! House features internet, Nest thermostats and Sonos sound (please understand everyone must do his/her own tech support nowadays — try ChatGPT, it's amazing!).

The space
Donkeys Inn is 1300 square feet of fun and a place to make memories with family and friends. It has three bedroom and two bath. The kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pan, utensils, microwave, drip coffee & Keurig coffee marker for ease in cooking. Backyard has a picnic table and charcoal grill in the back yard. We supply kitchen towels, hot mitts, bath towels, and bed linens for the bedrooms.

All of house is for our guest use - 3 bedroom and two bathrooms. We also have an outside picnic table and charcoal grill for your use.

Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Book your Oak Island vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.

Oak Island is a family-oriented beach with a large variety of activities to choose from. Not only can you play in the sand & sun, but there are museums, parks, concerts, a skateboard park, a splash pad, 2 piers & a large variety of restaurants & shopping opportunities. The bike trails are great way to explore the island. Rent a golf cart for your stay. Pete's Golf Carts are a half a block from the cottage. Also there are bike rentals nearby on the island.

Our cottage is centrally located in the Heart of Oak Island. Public beach access is at the beginning of our 46th street 2-1/2 blocks away approximate 8-9 minute walk. Within walking distance to lots of great shops; restaurants; Publix grocery store; and Middleton Park with a skateboard park, basketball hoops, tennis & pickleball courts, splash pad water park, multiple playgrounds and more!

Convenient to putt-putt and arcade; Ocean Crest Pier; Oak Island Golf Course; sky diving; helicopter rides; Oak Island Lighthouse; and other fun activities.

Short 10-15 minute drive to historic Southport where there are two ferry rides: one ferry to NC Aquarium and Civil War Museum in Kure Beach and the other ferry to Bald Head Island with one of the oldest lighthouse sites built in 1794, and the present tower "Old Baldy" built in 1817.

Nearby Southport is a walking town. Park & within a short stroll are eateries from breakfast, lunch, coffee & a muffin to seafood with a view & upscale dinner. In the heart of Southport, you can visit various beautiful parks, art galleries, museums, the visitor center & charming shops.

This is a custom built dog friendly family beach house on the quiet west side of Oak Island, a five minute drive or bike ride to the beach, and one block to the Intercostal Waterway. Artfully decorated, with a fully equipped kitchen, safely fenced back yard for dogs, screened back porch, super dog friendly beach, and a tiny house in back with one bed, sleeping; this house is a place for beach lovers who appreciate comfort and art and want their pooches along with them.

The space
We’ve been coming to Pinch of Peace for years and this is less a rental than our beloved family beach house that we’ve decided to share with others. I think you’ll feel at home here. It’s not a sterile environment. It’s a lived in, art-filled, high-ceilinged, sunlit and shaded oasis of skylights and pocket doors that my mom says is the nicest home we’ve ever had! The kitchen alone has custom cherry cabinets and drawers numbering over 50. It’s a lived in place. The napkins and placemats and silverware are the same we’ll use next time we are there. It’s a real home and I think that shows. Please treat it like your would your own place. Our neighbors are terrific. The neighborhood is quiet.

The Spider Box is a tiny house in the backyard, with a full bed, a desk and a chair, and is a nice place to escape, and possibly a place for a teenager to sleep. Or an adult who likes a bit of privacy. In spite of its whimsical name, there are no spiders in it!

Bring your own beach towels. Do not take house bath towels or linens to the beach. And please bring your own bar soap and shampoo.

Bed linens are provided for your stay, and bath towels per number of guests.

Do not raid the linen closet or use sheets and towels stored there, please, or you will incur extra cleaning/use charges at our discretion.

The master bedroom has a queen bed and a twin, if needed for a little one. The other beds are full not queens so may not be suitable for all people.

There is a two car maximum please.

There is a hose and spigot to the right side of the house. Please rinse off sand there from dogs and people!

Vacuuming mid stay is a good way to keep sand off floors and out of beds. The back bedroom closet has a portable vacuum. DO NOT attempt to use the built in house vacuum.

95% of the guests at our airbnbs bring pets, mostly dogs, and they appreciate our friendly pet policies. We work very hard after every visit to clear up any left behind dog hair, and there’s often quite a lot of it! If we miss some, it’s not for lack of trying like crazy to get it all. But fair warning: if you are not dog people or are not bringing dogs, and will be upset by stray left behind dog hair, you should probably seek other accommodations.

This Cottage offers 2 full bedrooms (Main bedroom w/Queen Size bed and Twin Bunks in the other bedroom).

Excellent for a two-family vacation as they can be rented together. Having beach access across the street it can also host a small wedding with pre & post ceremony gathering as well as a small beachfront ceremony - inquire with owner as vendors and wedding packages need to be quoted/approved - wedding packages only available from October to April.

Pets are limited to no more than 2 dogs, and we kindly ask that you confirm the breed of your dog(s) when booking. No other pets are permitted. A one-time fee of $125.00 per pet, per stay, will be added to your booking, regardless of the length of your stay.

*If any dog exhibits aggressive or threatening behavior to neighbors guests may be asked to leave the property without a refund. Dogs must be controlled on a leash at all times unless they are inside the home.

Linens and towels are included with this rental. This does not include beach towels so please plan accordingly

This Cottage (Unit B) provides accommodations for 2 adults and includes on-site parking for 1 car. If you'll be bringing a second vehicle, please let us know to see if we can accommodate your request. Please park vehicles as close to your corresponding unit as possible and be mindful to leave an adequate parking spaces for 2 cars next door (Unit A). Note, most of the time travelers are bringing only one car so parking is not an relevant but we need to be mindful in certain circumstances when there's more than 2 vehicles on the property. Driveway is designed to accommodate 3 total vehicles so there's ample space on most occasions. Note, Unit A next door is provided 2 parking spaces since it accommodates 4 adults (which can be 2 couples traveling in separate cars at times).

Routine maintenance may be required during your stay. This includes lawn care and pest control. The companies will only access the exterior of the home unless you provide consent for the interior of the home to be treated as well.

Bring the whole family to The Inkwell…a great beach cottage with lots of room for fun. The Inkwell is beautifully decorated, clean, well maintained and stocked with everything you need to make your beach trip worry-free. Beach access is at SE 40th Street…a short walk away. The Inkwell features a newly renovated covered porch with rocking chairs. You can also enjoy a nice evening out on the screened in deck...dinner on the patio…or enjoy an outdoor fire at the firepit.

The Inkwell bedrooms include (2) queen sized beds, (2) double beds and (1) twin bed. Beach chairs and umbrellas are stored in the outdoor storage cabinet for guests to use. Basketball, football and pickleball set is available. Several board games are available to entertain for those rainy beach days. All guests are encouraged to use the NEWLY RENOVATED outdoor shower after a day of fun in the sun.

We are located only a few blocks from the best stores and restaurants on OKI but on a quiet, clean and secluded street. Our island cottage is perfectly placed under a canopy of magnificent live oaks, about 300 steps away from the ocean. Nestled on a quiet beach access street, central to all the best attractions, shopping and eateries on Oak Island; close to attractions in Southport.
It is one of our favorite places to spend time together and we look forward to sharing it with you, your loved ones and friends.

The space
Our classic cottage has been recently updated and cheerfully decorated. With 1212 square feet and an open floor plan, there is plenty of space for you to comfortably relax. Two bedrooms provide enough sleeping arrangements for 4 guests. The master bedroom offers a queen bed, television and private en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom offers two twin beds (one is a trundle with an extra memory foam topper). Two full bathrooms with walk-in showers. Linens are provided (sheets, towels/washcloths) along with shampoo and soap. A full-size washer and dryer is available just off the master bedroom.

If you decide to cook in during your stay, the kitchen has all the essentials you’ll need - refrigerator, oven, microwave, dishwasher, pots/pans, utensils, coffee pot/Keurig, dishes. A roll of paper towels will be provided, along with dish soap and detergent.

There are two living/entertaining areas in the home, both centrally connected through the galley kitchen. Cable tv, wi-fi along with some games, books and puzzles are available for your enjoyment.

The spacious fully-fenced backyard with charcoal grill and outdoor seating offers the perfect place to relax. A deck off the side of the cottage faces the ocean - an ideal spot to enjoy your morning coffee, enjoy dinner off the grill, or watch the sun set while listening to the relaxing sounds of the nearby ocean. A private, outdoor shower is available. Plenty of off-street parking for 2 vehicles in our driveway.

Guests will have access to the entire cottage, outdoor deck, driveway and yard. There is one locked storage closet inside and a storage barn which is not accessible to guests. The fireplace is not for guest use.

Guests are welcome to check in anytime AFTER 4:00, unless notified otherwise. Please do not park in or block the driveway before check-in time.

Ocean Front! ~ Kick your feet up and enjoy the laid back atmosphere of this 1950's beach cottage on the deck or in the house. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets over the Atlantic Ocean. Deck has chairs for relaxing to the sound of the gulls and the ocean. Fall asleep to the sound of the ocean.

Rates vary from $130 a night to $480 a night depending on the time of year. During season is rented by the week, Sunday to Sunday with the remainder of the year available for nightly rental. The cottage is ideal for small families, 1-2 couples and singles. The maximum occupancy is 6 people. It accommodates up to 4 adults.

Please note the bathroom sizes. One full bath with sink, toilet, shower/tub combo and one half bath has a sink and toilet but no shower.

This family-friendly beach cottage is just a quick walk ( .7 mi ) to beach via the NE 31st St path/footbridge. Simply cross the street over Oak Island Drive and you will be on your way!

The space
Sage by the Sea is impeccably clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. It features beautiful wood flooring with an eat-in kitchen including additional seating at the island.

Note for guests: All beds come with freshly washed linens, folded and ready for use upon arrival. This is for the peace of mind of our guests that linens are washed between every stay.

One bedroom features a queen bed with an attached bathroom.

The master bedroom has 2 full beds and an en-suite bathroom, perfect for a family with children. The open-floor-plan kitchen allows meals to be prepared while conversing with family and friends.

There is a second living area with two twin-sized sleeper sofas. This area is perfect for families with different interests - picture cozying up with a good book in one living area, while a board game goes on in another.

Outside, you'll find a spacious fenced-in back yard, an outdoor shower, gas grill and patio furniture. Beach gear, chairs and bikes are available to you as well.

The home is pet friendly as well. We allow up to two dogs with an additional fee of $75 per dog (sorry, no cats).

**We HIGHLY recommend that all guests obtain trip insurance for their own protection and peace of mind. We do not have any control over the weather or things that occur on your end that may impact your trip.**

Cancellations
A full refund will be issued if a cancellation is made within 48 hrs of booking. After 48 hrs, no refunds will be issued for cancellations less than 60 days prior to the arrival date. A 50% refund will be issued if canceled more than 60 days prior to the arrival date.

THE COTTAGE:
We are located in the "heart of the island" meaning all of our favorite restaurants, ice cream shops, grocers, etc are close by; many within walking distance. Large living spaces and cottage-cozy bedrooms makes our charming home perfect for 6 guests but will accommodate up to 8 with a pull out sofa. For your comfort our maximum number of guest allowed is 8.
Enjoy free Wi-Fi and use of TV's in both living rooms and all three bedrooms.

-KITCHEN-
Our kitchen is spacious and is equipped with everything you need to prepare meals. A desk area is provided.
You will also have access to our double stacked washer and dryer also located in the kitchen.

We have two full baths with hot water supplied by a tankless hot water heater so you never run out.

Bathroom #1: Walk-in shower, vanity, storage shelf, two towel rods, towel hook, hair dryer, curling iron, bath towels, wash cloths, and blue washcloths for make up removal.

Bathroom #2 Tub/shower, vanity, 3 tier wicker storage shelf, two towel rods, hair dryer, bath towels, hand towels, washcloths and blue washcloths for make-up removal.

*Each bathroom has dispensers hanging in the shower filled with shampoo, conditioner and shower gel.

-OUTSIDE-
There is a deck on the front of the house with two rocking chairs and a side chair.

Our "fish shack" is home to two bikes and beach equipment that you are welcome to use during your stay. We strive to keep at least three bicycles, two beach chairs, a beach cart, fishing cart and cooler at all times but we can not guarantee what's available at any given time.

There is a full size refrigerator and freezer inside the fish shack. This is the perfect place to store bait and caught fish. Guests may also use it for extra food and drink storage.

-PETS-
Our cottage is able to host dogs for a non-refundable pet fee of $100 per visit for up to two dogs. $25 for a third dog if approved. We do not allow more than 2 dogs unless an exception is made in writing. Please note that the pet fee will be charged after the booking is approved if not charged during booking and must be paid before check-in

We provide the following amenities for dogs:
-Dog crates located in the fish shack. All dogs must be crated when unattended unless special permission is given by the owner to do otherwise.
-Several dog bowls and a raised dog bowl stand.
-We supply "dog towels" for drying dogs off and wiping their feet after being outside.
-We have "dog sheets & blankets" for covering furniture and beds if dogs are going to be allowed on the furniture.
*All dogs must be approved by the owner prior to arrival. Guests will be charged for any unauthorized dogs on the property.

*If any dog exhibits aggressive or threatening behavior to neighbors guests may be asked to leave the property without a refund. Dogs must be controlled on a leash at all times unless they are inside the fenced yard and the gate is closed.

-HOUSE RULES-
Guests must 1) Read our entire listing and rules sections, 2) Be 25 years old to book unless a written exception is given by the owner, 3) Sign our rental agreement prior to check-in. 4) Max number of guest is 8.

-A security deposit may be required and will be billed separately 3 days prior to check in. It will be returned within 7 days after check out absent any damages.

-Check in after 3 p.m. and check out before 10 a.m. The booking guest listed on the summary must check in before any other guests may enter the property and must be physically present at check out. You are subject to a late check out fee of $30 after a 10 minute grace period. Late check outs of more than one hour will be subject to a $100 per hour fee.

-Please do not park in the yard.

-Do not disconnect or tamper with security camera or other electronics.

-Illegal activity of any kind will result in immediate removal from the property without any refunds.

-No smoking or vaping allowed inside the cottage or fish shack. $250 fee for smoking or vaping anywhere inside the property.

-No parties or unauthorized guests allowed. A $150 fee will be charged per occurrence for each unauthorized guest. Maximum property capacity is 8 people at all times unless approved in writing.

-Quiet hours are 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.

-Rinse bikes and beach equipment after each use.

-Please do not use bleach anywhere in the house, even on our towels.

-Please do not use diffusers or burn candles.

-Bonfires must not be left unattended. Pour water over fire to distinguish it and make sure it is completely out. Firewood can be purchased at one of the local grocery stores.

-We understand that accidents happen. Please report any damages and/or breakages when they happen so we have plenty of time to purchase replacements before our next guests arrives.

-Trash pick up is on Tuesdays. If staying or checking out on a Monday please roll the bins to the street. If you are there on Tuesday please return the bins to the designated area beside the privacy fence.

*Any intentional violation of house rules may result in termination of the booking and eviction without a refund.

Other things to note:

*The owner’s closet in the bathroom is locked.

*Security cameras are located at the two points of entry to the cottage on the exterior only.

*While rare it is possible to see a palmetto bug inside any beach home. We have a subscription with a local pest control company to control pests but should you see any we will address it right away.

*We supply laundry detergent and dryer sheets for washing and drying beach towels, dog towels and sheets used to cover sofas (if used by dogs). Please use your own laundry detergent for personal use.

Additional Rules for Our Guest With Dogs

-Dogs must be pre-approved by the owner. Only the dogs that are listed in the booking are allowed including service dogs. We allow up to 2 dogs with a non-refundable pet fee. Violation of this rule will result in a $250 fine for each additional dog.

-Dogs must be housebroken, crate trained and current on Rabies, Distemper and Parvovirus vaccines. Dogs must be on a veterinarian approved flea and tick preventative. Please keep proof of vaccines with you at all times.

-Dogs are only permitted on furniture if it's covered. There are extra blankets and sofa covers provided in the fish shack. After use please wash all dog sheets/blankets and put them away. If this is left for the housekeeper to do extra cleaning fees will be charged.

-Do not leave dogs outside unattended at any time.

-In order to respect our neighbors please keep your dog(s) from barking excessively.

-Please fill any dug holes in with dirt.

-Please pick up waste and toss in outside garbage can.

-All dogs must be crated when left unattended. Owners will be charged accordingly for damages to the property caused by their dogs. We do have a few crates on the property. They are stored in the "fish shack" and can be used.

**Any incidents involving your dog while on the property should be reported to owners immediately.**

We have free parking for up to four cars. Please do not park in the yard or along the road.

There are 3 steps onto the front deck for entry into the cottage.

Guest access
We have free parking for up to four cars. Cars may be parked in the driveway but the Town of Oak Island prohibits parking on the street. Please do not park in our yard as we are trying to grow and keep our grass healthy.

The cottage is single story but guests will need to walk up three steps onto the front deck for entry.

We have a smart lock on the front door and we will provide you with a code 48 hrs prior to check in.

Cancellations
A full refund will be issued if a cancellation is made within 48 hrs of booking. After 48 hrs, no refunds will be issued for cancellations less than 60 days prior to the arrival date. A 50% refund will be issued if canceled more than 60 days prior to the arrival date.

We are located just two blocks from the 20th street walkway. The beach is a short 5-10 minute drive in a car or 12-15 minute walk.
During your stay you will enjoy free Wi-Fi and use of smart TV’s in the living room and all three bedrooms.

There is a deck on the side of the house with a bench, two chairs, a cocktail table and bar with four stools.

There is a patio underneath the sunroom with 4 rocking chairs, 2 side tables and hanging lights.

There is a private dock with a table with bench setting, a swinging chair and two Adirondack rocking chairs and side table.

There are two security cameras located on the exterior of the home. One at the front entrance and one at the side entrance. Cameras are in place for the security and protection of our home and guests. Footage is only reviewed if we suspect unusual or unauthorized activity.

-COTTAGE DISCLAIMERS-

*The downstairs bedroom can only be accessed from outside.

*Our cottage is adjacent to other homes.

*We do not have any control regarding activities outside our property lines nor do we have any control over the weather.

*Our cottage is located on a large body of water and marshlands. Kids and dogs should be closely monitored at all times. We do not recommend swimming in the canal due to alligators and oyster beds.

-HOUSE RULES-

Guests will not be able to check into the property without a completed rental agreement.

-A security deposit of $400 is required and will be billed separately 3 days prior to check in. It will be returned within 7 days after check out absent any damages.

-Check in after 4 p.m. and check out by 10 a.m. The booking guest listed on the summary must check in before any other guests may enter the property and must be physically present at check out. It is very important to check out on time so that our staff can begin preparing for the next guests right away. You are subject to a late check out fee of $30 after a 10 minute grace period. Late check outs of more than one hour will be subject to a $100 per hour fee.

-Maximum number of guests is 10.

-Park only in the driveway or underneath the cottage. Please do not park on the street.

-Do not disconnect or tamper with the wireless router, security cameras, smart locks or other electronics

-Illegal activity of any kind will result in immediate removal from the property without any refunds.

-No smoking or vaping allowed inside the cottage, downstairs bedroom or storage room. $250 fee for smoking or vaping anywhere inside the property. Please properly dispose of cigarettes. Do not toss cigarettes in the canal or on the ground.

-No parties or unauthorized guests allowed. A $150 fee will be charged per occurrence for each unauthorized guest. Maximum property capacity is 10 people at all times unless approved in writing.

- Please do not relocate any furniture with the exception of the rocking chairs on the patio. Those can be moved out to the grass area in order to sit around the fire pit.

-Be respectful of neighbors. Quiet hours are 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.

-Rinse beach equipment after each use. Please make sure everything is dry prior to putting it back in the storage room. Occasional breakage of equipment is expected with normal use. Please alert us if anything breaks.

- We have provided a few beach towels for your convenience. They are located in the hall bathroom.

-Use blue wash cloths provided for make-up removal.

-Please do not use bleach anywhere in the house, even on our towels.

-Please do not use diffusers or scented candles.

-Per town ordinance fires are to be used only for cooking and warmth. Fires must be contained in a commercially made fire pit or grill and only natural and untreated wood can be burned. Yard debris and trash should not be thrown in the fire pit. Fires must not be left unattended. Firewood can be purchased at one of the local grocery stores nearby.

-We understand that accidents do happen. Please report any damages and/or breakages when they happen so we have plenty of time to purchase replacements before our next guests arrives. In the event that damage to the property or its contents is not covered by insurance or it exceeds the security deposit, the cost to repair or replace will be billed to the guests.

-Please lock exterior doors each time you leave.

-Trash pick up is on Mondays. If you are staying or checking out on a Monday please roll the bins to the street Sunday evening. If you are there after trash pick up please return the bins to the designated area under the carport.

*Any intentional violation of house rules may result in immediate termination of the reservation.

Guest access
We have free parking for up to four cars. There is covered parking under the house and cars can be parked in the driveway.

The cottage is on pilings and guest will need to walk up 13 steps onto the side deck for entry.

The third bedroom is located on the ground level and has it’s own entry door and keyed lock.

We have a smart lock on the side door and we will provide you with a code 48 hrs prior to check in.

There is a sliding glass door on the front of the cottage.

Guest may launch kayaks from our floating dock. Guest are responsible for bringing their own kayaks or renting them.

We have a fenced dog play and potty area to the side of the house with plenty of shade and a doggie clean up station.

The dock is not suitable for a motorboat.
