Quaint, private space with separate entrance located in larger vintage home (circa 1915). This space is located on the upper level (must climb outside stairs to enter). Just a short walk to historic downtown, the Andy Griffith Museum, Wally's Service Station, Squad Car Tours, and the amphitheater. (Not ideal for handicap or disability situations due to entrance stairs)

Our Duplex is conveniently located in the heart of MAYBERY, but tucked into a peaceful setting. Located right off Hwy 52 & Hwy 601. We are located 1 mile from Downtown Mount Airy. We are right across the street from the Emily B. Taylor Greenway. Make our home your "home away from home"! Our apartment is a perfect getaway to take advantage of all the extras Mt. Airy has to offer: hiking, biking, antique shopping, tours, distillery, breweries, wineries, state parks, on and on and on!

*PET FRIENDLY: there is a $25/night per pet fee that will be due after booking. They are required to be crated when you leave the house. No pets on the furniture. Please pick up after your pet. Let the host know if you will be bringing your pet(s) to advise on Pet Fee.

The Mountain view is breathtaking and always changing! Drive slow we share our property with wildlife. Fifteen minutes to downtown Mt Airy, twenty minutes to Galax and Elkin. The entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway is ten miles away. Located in the midst of Surry and Yadkin County wine country, the home of Bluegrass music. So many things to see!

Feel free to walk around the front yard or side yards and watch the chickens! Since this space is a basement and we do have dogs, some noise is to be expected. We make every effort to keep things as peaceful as possible.
To get to the hot tub, walk up the front yard steps. Take the sidewalk to the left side of the house.
Since we have chickens and roosters, some peeping and crowing is to be expected.

Enter through the back patio sliders into the dining area with a wood table and three chairs. Afternoon sunlight streams in window facing partially wooded yard. Back of house completely private. To the right inside is a small living space with a rug, loveseat, large wagon wheel coffee table, a chair which converts to a single sleeper or lounge, and a large wood burning fireplace. Wood stored outside patio. You may step up through a single door into a bedroom with a full sized bed, two nightstands, an antique dresser with mirror, and a small tv. Remotes for tv and ceiling fan with light. There are no windows and room is embedded underground with one foot block walls on two sides, so it is like sleeping in a cave!
Step down through other door into small hallway to access bathroom with large step up shower with custom stonework and removable shower head and sliding glass doors. Extra towels in bottom of sink cabinet. All towels and sheets are 100% cotton.
Step up into small kitchen with everything needed to prepare and serve a meal except your ingredients. Some seasonings provided and I am sure we will be getting more! A window box in kitchen provides light as well as a nice view of a large oak.
Outside patio with chairs and a wicker glider with cushions. In the evening you may see deer grazing in the yard. At night you can gaze at the stars!

The Cardinal is in the top floor of one of the oldest buildings in downtown Pilot Mtn. When you enter the unit, you will walk into an open living, dinning and kitchen space. The living room is simple and roomy with a view of downtown main street as well as Pilot Mountain. The open floor plan gives the unit a loft feel. In the back you will two private bedrooms with their own closet and mini splits in each room. Full bathroom with shower is located off the living room. Laundry closet with washer and dryer is in the kitchen area.

The Cardinal Getaway has a private entrance just off of Main Street. The entrance is at the top of a grated staircase that leads you from the street up the side of our building. The door has a touch keypad which you will receive a code to unlock the morning of your check in. There is a security camera on the side of our building that shows the entrances to this unit and the one we have below. It also sees the parking lot and side street.

Please look at the photos and take note of the staircase to enter the loft. It is a two flight, grated, metal staircase. The unit looks like images there is not any additional spaces or furnishings. Also note from the photos that you are staying directly on the Main St in downtown. You will be able to hear music from local shops as well as the town. (Business close down around 10pm unless events are being held.) Events are held on the street the building sits on. There are two security cameras on the outside of this unit. One shows us the alleyway and outside entrance to this unit. The other shows us the parking lot.
