This GeoDome sits on a lush piece of land off on a private gravel road immediately off of 321 in Blowing Rock. We don’t have many neighbors, but the ones that we do are very friendly and you’ll may see them driving by as You are on your way in and out. The Blowing Rock Geodome sits at the very top of the only road in and out of the community, so please be sure that you do not block the road in any way that might impede our neighbors from getting by.

ACCESS REQUIREMENTS: The GeoDome is nestled in the mountains and accessible via a beautiful mountain road. Please note that in order to drive to to the GeoDome, a front wheel drive, 4x4 or AWD vehicle is required due to the terrain. High clearance is not required but AWD and 4x4 is recommended and at a bare minimum front wheel drive is required.

For guests without front wheel drive, 4x4 or AWD, there is a dedicated parking space and does require a 350’ walk to the dome. You’re welcome to enjoy the walk or drive in if you have front wheel drive, 4X4 or AWD.

Driving to the GeoDome is unlike navigating a typical city street. Drive cautiously, take your time, and you'll have a safe and enjoyable journey.

This cabin is located on 20 acres of land off a private gravel road that is just off of Highway 321 in Blowing Rock. While we don't have many neighbors, the ones we do have are very friendly and you may see them driving by throughout the day. The cabin is situated at the top of the only road in and out of the community, so please make sure to not block the road in any way that could obstruct our neighbors' access.

Highway 321 will be cleared appropriately in winter months. As for the road off of 321 to this cabin, it is paved but in the event of inclement weather - 4WD or AWD is suggested in winter months.

While the road to the house does melt quickly, it can be tricky with snow.

If you’re headed further into the High Country, we’d encourage you to take a drive. We highly recommend taking the longer route on the Blue Ridge Parkway to get from where you are to where you’re going. If you’re looking for another scenic route, be sure to take Shull’s Mill road if you’re headed toward Banner Elk or Valle Crucis.

While you stay, there will be plenty of room to park. Feel free to park on the concrete next to the garage or on the gravel.

We live in downtown hickory. You will have your own private space located in the back of our home. It is a studio with a kitchenette. No stove/oven and only a beverage fridge. Adjoining your studio is an un air conditioned game room with pool table/ping pong and workout equipment. We have an outdoor shared space with a grill and fireplace.
We also have a super cute golden doodle named Louis, who might be inside the fenced area. Please keep all fence gates locked.

The space
My attached apartment space is well lit and is on the lower level with a separate driveway and entryway. The home and apartment is at the end of a cul-de-sac and offers privacy. My home is only two miles from lake Hickory and a local boat access used for boating, fishing, and walking (exercise). My space is a 50 minute drive from Blowing Rock/Boone Area and about an hour from Asheville, Charlotte, and Winston Salem.

I am about an hour to hour and a half from the Biltmore Estate, the Bank of America (Carolina Panthers) Stadium, Apple picking, snow and water skiing, great hiking, the Blue Ridge Parkway(beautiful scenery during the fall when the leafs change color) and great shopping in Charlotte or the Outlets in Blowing Rock. I’m less than ten miles from the CRAWDADS stadium and Hickory Metro convention center.

Guest access
Guests have access to the walkout basement floor apartment. Private outdoor patio seating area. All guests have access to a bathroom, a living area with wood burning fire place, and a kitchen space.
