The McCauley House was built in 1920 as a single family home. From what we can tell the McCauley Family owned it for nearly 100 years and at some point in time they did a conversion to a 4-plex apartment building. We bought the building in 2022 and have worked hard to restore every room. in this apartment you will find 2 original fireplaces, 11' Ceilings and all of the modern amenities that you would expect to include a King Bed, Fully Stocked Kitchen and Large Soaking Tub. The apartment features High Speed Internet with an access point for ethernet and Smart TV's in both the living room and the bedroom.

The listing is made for 2 but we understand you may have children or a guest. Please register all additional children/guest and we are able to accommodate with an air mattress or pack and play if needed.

- "We stayed 2 nights in apt B. This home is in a location close to so many things, very close to downtown. The property was just as listed. It has large, open spaces in bedroom, living room, and kitchen. The bathroom was nice and larger than many. There was a bench and a cart that sits next to the sink, to hold toiletries and curling irons, etc. This is not in the photos, and we found it very helpful. The bed was comfortable and the curtains allowed us to have it good and dark. We appreciated a private parking lot just for guests. There were several washer/dryer units available for use. The doors all had touch pads for unlocking and it was good to be key-free. Gayla was responsive and helpful, a great host! We would recommend this stay."

Loved the water pressure in the shower and how fast it got hot. They were a little sparce on some kitchen items. No tea kettle and no pepper. But otherwise we were able to make our breakfasts just fine. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy and the house is on a main road so its loud, but that's not a deal breaker for us. It was convenient in that the places we went to were all within 15-20 minutes. Check out downtown Graham when staying here. It's quaint and there are some great restaurants. Filled with contemporary original art (by the host and for sale), Tranquility offers a comfortable queen sized bed with high quality linens and towels. Tucked away on 5 acres of forest. Stocked with essential appliances and dishware, dependable wifi, and less than 5 minutes from local restaurants, shopping and parks! Perfect for couples! One bedroom with king size bed and en suite bathroom with cozy bedding, high ceilings, full-length mirror and room-darkening shade. Spacious living area has a 50" flat screen Roku TV (streaming and local antenna only), fireplace, dining area and open kitchen. Living room has a queen sleeper sofa. Front door is also equipped with privacy room-darkening shades. Kitchen with cooktop, microwave, Ninja 10-in-1 oven, coffee-maker and full size refrigerator. There are enough dishes for four. We provide linens, toilet paper, soap, shampoo/conditioner, hair dryer, laundry with supplies, coffee, basic cooking, and basic cleaning supplies.

Other Details to Note:
Although the suite can accommodate up to four guests, it is best suited for couples. We do not allow children or infants due to safety considerations. We also charge $20 per night per guest after two people.

Although we don't have a dedicated workspace, the dining area could potentially serve as a workspace.

GUEST SUITE LOCATION: The guest suite has a private entrance located on the (walkout) basement level of our home. It is under our office and guest room (no children/no access to pets). There will be limited foot traffic above. We also installed two layers of insulation in the floor to minimize noise.

The guest suite is accessible by the gravel driveway that goes down toward the basement level of the home. When pulling in, you will see the gravel driveway off to the right. Take this all the way down to the parking area/turnaround.

PARKING:
Parking is available in front of the guest suite. Currently, we can accommodate one vehicle. The turnaround is TIGHT and is really only suitable for one vehicle. If you plan on bringing more than one vehicle, please let us know and we will try to accommodate additional parking. Please do not block our driveway or garage located on the main level of our home.

Neighborhood:
We are located 5 minutes from the quaint and historic town of Jamestown which has all the conveniences such as restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores as well as public parks. Our property is entirely wooded and is at the end of a dead-end street. Our home is tucked back on 5+ acres in a very quiet, safe neighborhood. We know all of our neighbors and look out for one another.

We have security cameras on our driveways and at the doors of our home, including smart doorbells. They are strictly to view the activity in public spaces. They will be on during your stay.

- "My son and I booked Brett’s Vrbo for 6 days for the Boys ECNL National Playoffs and it suited us down to the ground. Brett was very friendly and communicative before we arrived and was there to meet us upon arrival. He immediately set about showing us around and making us feel welcome and comfortable. It was a thorough orientation and was appreciated! The location itself is excellent with shopping and restaurants a 15min walk or a 3min car ride away and easy access to I-840, which we used to get to the fields. The apartment was in a nice quiet neighborhood and was spacious and very comfortable for 2/3 or 4 people. It has brand new appliances and quality amenities. The apartment was very clean and allowed us to relax after a hard day on the fields, coaching and playing. We could not have asked for more. The next time I am in Greensboro for Soccer or indeed anything else this is where I will be staying, assuming it’s not solidly booked, which it should be. 👍"
