The apartment is a short walk from restaurants, coffee shops, and the Riverwalk recreational trail, which is accessed out of the parking lot in back of the building. Nice big T.V. and high speed wi-fi. Bedding is o.k. If you're really particular about your pillow, bring your own (I always do). A note to you light sleepers: there are train tracks close to the building, and the whistle can be heard in the still of the night. Bring ear plugs if that might be a problem for you. Smith Mountain Lake State Park is about 45 minutes from here which offers various outdoor activities, including lake swimming, boat ramp, hiking, and fishing. Caesars Virginia Casino - 28 min drive.
Virginia International Raceway - 44 min drive. The living space has a 20x20 outdoor patio as well. This is a basement portion of the home and does not include the main level of the home. We apologize for any inconvenience but we do not allow any animals.

When you enter the driveway and pass the large pine trees, feel free to park in the grassy area off to the left .

On the wall to the left of the garage door is a lockbox with a key, as well as a light switch to illuminate the path to The Big Tiny House (and also to the adjacent Rusty's Retreat).

Follow the path to your left between the garage and the large white propane tank (looks like a submarine). Walk approximately 20ft and you'll see a large pine tree with a sign for The Big Tiny House. Open the wooden gate to your right and you'll see the tiny house ahead :)

You'll have full use of the tiny home as well as the outdoor space that surrounds it.
Other things to note
Although separate, The Big Tiny House shares a property with the well-known property Boogie Nights Manor as well as fellow listing Rusty's Retreat. Parking and access points are separate for the listings, but it's possible that sounds may travel between the respective outdoors spaces :)

The house also has a great firepit that looks straight out of an episode of The Flintstones. As we can't guarantee the availability of large deliveries of firewood locally, we recommend you pick up a couple bundles at your local hardware or grocery store. The IGA grocery store (10 mins away in Nellysford) generally has bundles that sell in the $6-7 range.

The property has a whole house generator, so you can be confident you will not have to worry about being inconvenienced by the occasional power outage caused by storms or overloaded city circuits.

Host is a VIR Club member and instructs with many HPDE organizations and may be available to give some local pointers for those that are visiting VIR to drive or spectate. Just ask and we are happy to share our insights as a VIR Club member.

We do ask that our guest limit persons to a total of four, however your stay will be more comfortable with only two. The sofa bed is the second bed and we have been told by guests it is the most comfortable sleeper sofa they ever slept on. The pillows and extra bedding are kept in the coffee table which also serves as a lift table for your laptop. When requested, the sleeper sofa can be made up with fresh linens in advance of your arrival, and left open if arriving late.

This is a second floor apartment and safety considerations for small children should be made due to the stairs. No infant furniture or safety provisions are made so please consider if this property is for you if you have those needs.

Please no parties, large gatherings of people, smoking or pets. We love our dog, but in respect of the property and those guests following, that may have allergies, we must insist on a firm no pet policy.
