The Cottage is a cozy STUDIO guest house in Downtown Greensboro--thoughtfully furnished, comfortable, and immaculately clean and disinfected apartment in the heart of downtown.

The two beds are a queen sized murphy bed, and a full-sized futon couch--the space is best suited for people that feel comfortable sleeping in the same space.

The space
The Cottage is quaint and homey, clean and comfortable and centrally located, but also quiet and very private. Walk to all the best that Downtown Greensboro has to offer. It will feel like a home away from home!

Apartment is thoroughly disinfected between each guest with special attention to frequently touched surfaces. Laundry is done with hot water and laundry sanitizer on heavy duty cycle and high heat dry. Discounts for longer-term weekly and monthly stays.

You can instant book our place until 2 pm on the day of your stay. You are welcome to message me to see if the apartment is available that day if it is after 2 pm. I hope I will be able to accommodate your last minute booking!

Please note that there is a coin-operated washer and dryer in our garage for my guests' convenience. If you would like to use them, then please message me and I will explain how to get into the garage. If you need quarters, just send me $ via Airbnb and I will give you the equivalent in quarters. Iron, ironing board, and distilled water are provided for you if your clothes need pressing in the apartment.

We have games, board books, a pack and play, stroller. and some other things that will make life easier for families traveling with small children. These items are available upon request and are not normally stored in the apartment.

IMPORTANT: When using the murphy bed, stand in front of it and pull on the hardware firmly and slowly to chest height. Then with one hand, bring down the feet of the bed--there is a foot on the right and left side. After feet are down, then bring the bed down.

When stowing the murphy bed, pick the bed up gently, RETURN the feet to the original position, and gently guide the bed to close. IF you do not return the feet back to their original position, you will scratch the murphy bed and will be responsible for the repair.

There are steps leading from the parking lot to the unit and the walking path is made of a combination of pavers and loose stones. Additionally, the bathroom is well equipped but small. This may make the unit less than ideal for guests with mobility issues.

Unique Treehouse apartment in center of the city. This new construction space in my backyard was built as a toxic-free, super energy efficient, natural, healthy, foam-free project. Beautiful views and quiet space in the trees offers a perfect retreat or long-term stay.

The space
Building The Roost has been a labor of love for me and my community of friends. The purpose was to build a beautiful structure that focused on natural, healthy, and local materials where possible. Many have contributed to it's success, and the result is a unique and beautiful, peaceful and healthy structure. Every time I enter The Roost, I love the fact that the only smell is that of wood!
If you're interested, I will be happy to go into details about the materials we used, such as the cork siding, the cypress posts that hold The Roost up to it's lofty position, the locally made formaldehyde-free plywood, or the efficient HRV ventilation fans.
The Roost is located 9 feet in the air and only has access via stairs. You can enjoy the cool breeze of the trees from the deck, where you also get a great view of the sunrise. The kitchen includes a two burner induction cooktop, refrigerator, and toaster oven. The bedroom area includes a large built-in closet storage area with plenty of hanging space, drawers, and a storage place under the bed for your luggage. The bed is a Queen size all- wool mattress tucked into a cozy bed nook! And the full bath includes a tub and shower.

The Roost is located behind my house, and you will have access to parking in the drive just under The Roost.

Other things to note
I designed The Roost to optimize storage. So it's a great place to stay long-term! It's also just 2 miles north of downtown Greensboro, and close to hiking and biking paths. It's also very conveniently located to Wendover Ave and Battleground Ave which takes you to most places in Greensboro.
If you're interested in a long-term stay, inquire about it even if it seems like all your dates aren't available.

Mid-stair landing has access to deck for quiet evening, cocktails, or should someone care to smoke. Ashtray is there. Please discard butts in ashtray and not yard. I will dispose of them.

$75 dog fee for up to 2 dogs. Fee is for entire stay which will be billed via AirBnB website. This is necessary to maintain high quality cleaning standards prior to next guest. Dog size is limited to 40 lbs each. Contact me directly for exceptions/requests.

Please feel free to have your dog roam the fenced in yard. There is a shovel there to dispose manure in the ivy at the back of the yard.
