The space

Apartment is thoroughly disinfected between each guest with special attention to frequently touched surfaces. Laundry is done with hot water and laundry sanitizer on heavy duty cycle and high heat dry. Discounts for longer-term weekly and monthly stays.

Please note that there is a coin-operated washer and dryer in our garage for my guests' convenience. If you would like to use them, then please message me and I will explain how to get into the garage. If you need quarters, just send me $ via Airbnb and I will give you the equivalent in quarters. Iron, ironing board, and distilled water are provided for you if your clothes need pressing in the apartment.

We have games, board books, a pack and play, stroller. and some other things that will make life easier for families traveling with small children. These items are available upon request and are not normally stored in the apartment.

IMPORTANT: When using the murphy bed, stand in front of it and pull on the hardware firmly and slowly to chest height. Then with one hand, bring down the feet of the bed--there is a foot on the right and left side. After feet are down, then bring the bed down.

When stowing the murphy bed, pick the bed up gently, RETURN the feet to the original position, and gently guide the bed to close. IF you do not return the feet back to their original position, you will scratch the murphy bed and will be responsible for the repair.

Unique Treehouse apartment in center of the city. This new construction space in my backyard was built as a toxic-free, super energy efficient, natural, healthy, foam-free project. Beautiful views and quiet space in the trees offers a perfect retreat or long-term stay.

The space
Building The Roost has been a labor of love for me and my community of friends. The purpose was to build a beautiful structure that focused on natural, healthy, and local materials where possible. Many have contributed to it's success, and the result is a unique and beautiful, peaceful and healthy structure. Every time I enter The Roost, I love the fact that the only smell is that of wood!
If you're interested, I will be happy to go into details about the materials we used, such as the cork siding, the cypress posts that hold The Roost up to it's lofty position, the locally made formaldehyde-free plywood, or the efficient HRV ventilation fans.
The Roost is located 9 feet in the air and only has access via stairs. You can enjoy the cool breeze of the trees from the deck, where you also get a great view of the sunrise. The kitchen includes a two burner induction cooktop, refrigerator, and toaster oven. The bedroom area includes a large built-in closet storage area with plenty of hanging space, drawers, and a storage place under the bed for your luggage. The bed is a Queen size all- wool mattress tucked into a cozy bed nook! And the full bath includes a tub and shower.

Other things to note
I designed The Roost to optimize storage. So it's a great place to stay long-term! It's also just 2 miles north of downtown Greensboro, and close to hiking and biking paths. It's also very conveniently located to Wendover Ave and Battleground Ave which takes you to most places in Greensboro.

Your bathroom is an en-suite, with a vanity with drawers and cabinet space below the sink. The shower is fully tiled with a nice sized seat. The shower head has multiple settings and is adjustable.

***Park at the basement garage, it is the driveway off of Little Oak Dr. and it has a double gate, which at least one side will be open for you. Feel free to open or close the gate, your preference.

From your car, walk straight to your door and self-check into the keypad. Your code will be the last 4 digits of your phone number. There are no stairs or steps and it is level and paved.

You’ll have full access to the basement apartment area. This includes the bedroom with en-suite bathroom, the fully furnished separate kitchen, laundry room and the fully furnished separate living room. Also, included is the outside patio area with a swing and a settee. Make yourself at home!

There’s a TV in the bedroom and living room, both on Amazon Firesticks.

Curl up in the queen size bed to read a novel or scroll social media. Unpack and organize your belongings in the spacious custom-made wardrobe closet. The Sunshine Home accommodates up to 3 guests with a comfy queen bed and a Mopio Chloe Futon Sofa Bed in the living room.

This private room with shared bath is located on the guest level (2nd level) of a newly renovated home originally built in 1905 in historic Fisher Park. There are two additional guest rooms on this floor, and guests will share common breakfast area equipped with a microwave, mini-fridge, Keurig coffee-maker, toaster oven, and hot water kettle.

Guest access
Guests have access to a kitchenette/breakfast nook (microwave, mini-fridge, Keurig coffee, toaster oven, water kettle). Guests will enjoy a pre-packaged Continental breakfast each morning consisting of items such as cereals, oatmeal, pastries, frozen breakfast sandwiches, juice, coffee/tea, and water. Please note that host does not provide a hot, prepared breakfast.

During your stay
Host will be available most mornings and evenings. Guests will have their own private, second-floor entrance at rear of home. Guests must be able to climb 21 steps to reach private entrance.

Other things to note
The property is located in the heart of downtown Greensboro, within walking distance of three lovely parks, casual and fine dining, shops, museums, live theatre and nightlife.

Please note that guests may hear street noise at times so the host has provided white noise sound machines in each guest room if needed.

The temperature setting for the second floor is 72 degrees in summer and 68 degrees in winter. Ceiling fans and extra blankets are available in each guest room for comfort.

Lastly, please also note that the owner has two very friendly dogs (Ethel and Lucy) on property which do not have access to guest level (2nd level) or guest rooms.

The space
The lower main area includes a living room, Full Kitchen including Microwave, Refrigerator, Drip Coffee Maker (coffee included) and toaster oven. Two Hand crafted bar area and bathroom. The stairs lead to the loft that has a king size bed. In the loft area there is also a dresser and place to hang clothes.

Guest access
You will be able to pull right up to the house and have the entire space to yourself. There is a keyless entry. We send the code close to your arrival. When you leave the house, the door is locked by pushing the button in the center of the keypad.

Other things to note
The property has a beautiful pond to sit by or go fishing (fishing equipment not provided) (catch and release only) and trails to take a nice relaxing walk. There is also access to Pasture with pond for all the horse lovers coming to town. But not any available stalls. There is a $20 pet fee per animal which will need to be received upon arrival or altered to your reservation. We require pets to be completely house broke and do not chew on things. As you can see from the pictures we have allot of beautiful wood work that we take allot of pride in. We also ask that they not be left alone at any time and have to be crated if that situation happens. We can provide medium size crate if need be. The owner will replenishes fresh towel and bedding if it’s an extended stay.
