LIABILITY WAIVER: Our property provides you with a unique opportunity to enjoy the hot tub, backyard, and fire pit. We want you to take advantage of these amenities and have a memorable visit. However, by agreeing to our House Rules, you acknowledge that there are inherent risks involved with participating in these activities and that hot tubs, stairs, bunk beds, indoor/outdoor stairs, and campfires may present dangers for adults and children. Children must be carefully supervised at all times when near the water. The gate to the hot tub area must remain closed at all times. If you swim or use the fire pit (especially children) we strongly recommend the use of life jackets which can be provided by request for you and your guests. Because the water in the entire hot tub is only a few feet deep, no diving off of anywhere is allowed. By agreeing to the House Rules, you acknowledge the potential risks discussed above, agree to accept full responsibility for any bodily injury that may occur to you and others in your party, and waive any claim whatsoever against the owners for accidents or claims arising from these activities.

GUEST SUITE LOCATION: The guest suite has a private entrance located on the (walkout) basement level of our home. It is under our office and guest room (no children/no access to pets). There will be limited foot traffic above. We also installed two layers of insulation in the floor to minimize noise.

The guest suite is accessible by the gravel driveway that goes down toward the basement level of the home. When pulling in, you will see the gravel driveway off to the right. Take this all the way down to the parking area/turnaround.

PARKING:
Parking is available in front of the guest suite. Currently, we can accommodate one vehicle. The turnaround is TIGHT and is really only suitable for one vehicle. If you plan on bringing more than one vehicle, please let us know and we will try to accommodate additional parking. Please do not block our driveway or garage located on the main level of our home.

Neighborhood:
We are located 5 minutes from the quaint and historic town of Jamestown which has all the conveniences such as restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores as well as public parks. Our property is entirely wooded and is at the end of a dead-end street. Our home is tucked back on 5+ acres in a very quiet, safe neighborhood. We know all of our neighbors and look out for one another.

We have security cameras on our driveways and at the doors of our home, including smart doorbells. They are strictly to view the activity in public spaces. They will be on during your stay.

The space
When I started my Airbnb career, in June 2016, I really had no idea what was required of a host so I provided what I thought a visitor unfamiliar with the area, country or even continent would want. It seems to have worked since, for last seven consecutive periods, I have been awarded the title of 'Super-host'. Guests have been very happy and have enjoyed their stay with me and I have enjoyed meeting and getting to know them. Come and stay!

My house looks English and I am English. Be warned, you might experience some laconic Anglo-Saxon humour. I can accommodate six people in three rooms. So if you want to stay with an elderly Brit being as Jeeves-like (but not Fawlty-ish) as he can, then my rooms will suit you well.

The house is almost elegant and I am very proud of it. It is a large house, almost a 100 years old but fully modernized. It is situated in the historic neighbourhood of Westerwood comprising mostly early 20th century houses, just to the west of downtown Greensboro. You can see downtown from my house yard. But it is rather like living in the country - in the middle of a town.

Over the years, many guests have stayed in the various rooms for months at a time which reflects how comfortable each room is.

The fully-equipped kitchen can be used up to 8PM, I allocate fridge and cupboard space for your personal use.

The house also has a living room and kitchen (both with TVs) and a dining room all of which guests are free to use.

Other amenities include a laundry, steam iron with ironing board and a hair-dryer (found in the common bathroom).

Outside the house there is a fairly large water garden where you can sit and enjoy the tinkling of the water – very conducive to deep thought. Just across the road, there is a stream and a running path which extends for miles either way. These are always very popular with guests.

I assume you'll be respectful of other guests and their rooms. For your security each room has it’s own lock.

I have bicycles for guest use, just ask and I’ll show you where they are kept.

During your stay
When I started my AirBnB career in June 2016, I really had no idea what was expected/required of a host. So I provided what I thought a visitor to an unknown location, country or even continent would want. It seems to have worked because, for each period thereafter, I have been awarded the title of 'Super-host'. That must mean that guests have been very happy and have enjoyed their stay with me. I am now in my early eighties, live in the house and I love classical music. I have a beautiful granddaughter and a handsome grandson who spend an hour or so a day with me, keeping me young. Quite often guests bring their children and it's so sweet to see them play together.

I am usually around the house and available to help with whatever you need.

Once you have booked, I will send you detailed instructions so that you can gain entry to the house and your room at any time after noon on your arrival date. My guests often comment how easy the process is.

Greensboro, known as the Gate City because of the confluence of several railroad lines from the north to the Deep South, still commands a vital position because of its various Interstates. Thus exploring North Carolina – a very beautiful but a seemingly little known state – is rewarding. With the Blue Ridge Mountains (Asheville, Winston-Salem and Tennessee) to the west and the coast (Raleigh, the Outer banks and Kitty Hawk) to the east within a few hours easy drive.

High Point is about 12 miles away where you can attend the bi-annual furniture market or shop for top class furniture all year round. Winston-Salem, a really old, interesting city, is around 30 miles west.

There are also plenty of attractions in Greensboro itself. An Olympic size swimming pool complex, more small breweries than you could stagger from, all the multi-cultural dining you could want, along with museums, exhibitions (including the Civil Rights Museum at the old Woolworths) and the site of the Battle of Guilford Courthouse – there would be plenty for you to do within City limits.

So come and savor this house and this City. I will do my best to make your stay both pleasant and memorable.

The townhouse is located in a beautiful and safe neighborhood, which is close to everything, but far away from the hustle of the city.
The nice sized bedroom with private bath (in hall), is equipped with a Queen bed (new Mattress), a high dresser, a dresser with mirror, nightstand and a closet.
The dinning and sitting room offers comfortable dinning and resting areas including a new 56"TV with basic channels. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is a new washer and dryer.

This a nice little home, open to all walks of life!
My spare room is open, with a nice cozy queen sized bed. With complete access to a Wifi and Netflix up stairs and down.

** But I do still live in the home in the main bedroom. But I have a busy schedule. So I will not be in your way!!

You can access the entire down stairs, which include kitchen, if you need to eat with snacks. The back porch, if you want to stare at my beautiful hill. And up stairs you have access to the laundry room, if you have ONE load of laundry to do.
As well as watching Tv down stairs and upstairs.

Depending on my work load, I am usually available. But with running a business, things get hard sometime.
But if you would rather relax, I completely understand, you just have to let me know.

I am a non smoker, so I politely request our guest/s that smoking is NOT allowed inside the house but within the outside of my residence.

Parking is available on the side, in reserved spots.
