Welcome to our cozy and stylish 1-bedroom apartment, perfectly situated in the heart of Burlington, North Carolina. Whether you're in town for business or pleasure, our centrally located AirBnB offers convenience, comfort, and easy access to all that our "little" city has to offer just minutes from I40/85.

The McCauley House was built in 1920 as a single family home. From what we can tell the McCauley Family owned it for nearly 100 years and at some point in time they did a conversion to a 4-plex apartment building. We bought the building in 2022 and have worked hard to restore every room. in this apartment you will find 2 original fireplaces, 11' Ceilings and all of the modern amenities that you would expect to include a King Bed, Fully Stocked Kitchen and Large Soaking Tub. The apartment features High Speed Internet with an access point for ethernet and Smart TV's in both the living room and the bedroom.

The listing is made for 2 but we understand you may have children or a guest. Please register all additional children/guest and we are able to accommodate with an air mattress or pack and play if needed.

The Haw River Trail is currently open to the public are four recreational parks, 20 miles of hiking trails, approximately 40 miles of paddle trail, and 14 paddle accesses extending through Alamance County from Guilford County to the Alamance County-Orange County line.

- "We stayed 2 nights in apt B. This home is in a location close to so many things, very close to downtown. The property was just as listed. It has large, open spaces in bedroom, living room, and kitchen. The bathroom was nice and larger than many. There was a bench and a cart that sits next to the sink, to hold toiletries and curling irons, etc. This is not in the photos, and we found it very helpful. The bed was comfortable and the curtains allowed us to have it good and dark. We appreciated a private parking lot just for guests. There were several washer/dryer units available for use. The doors all had touch pads for unlocking and it was good to be key-free. Gayla was responsive and helpful, a great host! We would recommend this stay."

Loved the water pressure in the shower and how fast it got hot. They were a little sparce on some kitchen items. No tea kettle and no pepper. But otherwise we were able to make our breakfasts just fine. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy and the house is on a main road so its loud, but that's not a deal breaker for us. It was convenient in that the places we went to were all within 15-20 minutes. Check out downtown Graham when staying here. It's quaint and there are some great restaurants. We enjoyed out stay and would recommend it to others."

We were in town for a UNC-CH graduation and Mother's Day weekend, but we'd wanted to stay further out from the Triangle, away from the hubbub and closer to other family in Winston Salem. Vanessa's home was PERFECT, and when my husband and I missed our flight down from NYC, she was flexible and coordinated with my sister to do check-in. Then, after check out, when I realized I'd forgotten some items (including my ID, ugh!) and needed return later that afternoon to pick them up, she was friendly and accommodating, even though it was a holiday (Mother's Day). Other reviews mentioned the comfortable beds, the beautiful garden/outdoors spaces, and what a steal it is for the cost—all of which I can confirm. The neighborhood is pretty and quiet, and it was so nice to have a place for us (sisters & mother) to get ready for the big days together & unwind/relax at the end of the day. We had considered hotel rooms, because we knew we'd be out for most of the day, but I'm so glad we stayed at Vanessa's house, because the mornings and evenings sharing space together (rather than being in separate hotel rooms) made the weekend relaxing with plenty of family time—even though so much of it was running around for graduation!"

The well-appointed kitchen features stainless steel appliances and a large granite island with 8 barstools. The great room with bamboo flooring has a large flat screen TV with high speed internet, a wood-burning fireplace. Two carpeted master bedrooms (one king, one queen) on either side of the great room/kitchen have dramatic double tray ceilings with concealed lighting and retractable blooming flower ceiling fans. The king bedroom’s bath features a tiled walk-in shower along with an ADA height Kohler toilet and double sinks, while the queen bedroom’s bath has double sinks and a jacuzzi tub/shower. A half bath off the great room is convenient for guests. All rooms open to the 1,500 sq. ft. deck overlooking the water, where you can kayak, or cast for bluegills and bass. The deck has a stone fireplace, charcoal grill and comfortable seating with lots of space for outdoor entertaining. A large carport off the kitchen comes in handy on rainy days. The seclusion of being located off the beaten path in a bamboo forest will add to your delightful stay. No smoking of any type inside the home. The 600 sq. ft. sunroom has 4 garage doors opening to a 600 sq. ft. deck overlooking the water to create a perfect outdoor retreat. There are 5 bedrooms and 2.5 baths; two of the bedrooms have lofts for additional sleeping areas. The kitchen is modern and fully furnished. The setting is very tranquil and private, nestled in a 10 acre compound with a bamboo grove and majestic oak and hickory trees providing shade and privacy. Lots of wildlife around including deer, foxes, rabbits, squirrels, and herons. The location is close to everything (grocery stores, restaurants, shopping, hospital, movies, etc) but it feels like you are in another world. Try to catch a bass or bluegill in the two acre pond, hike thru the bamboo trail or use the kayak or canoe over by the gazebo. The setting has to be seen to be believed. Up to two well behaved dogs are welcome.

The garage doors opening to a view of the lake really made this house extra special. I thought in the heat of the summer that it would either be too hot or too buggy. There were only a few very hot and humid days where I kept the doors shut, but the bugs were not a problem at all. The house is spacious and conducive to large gatherings. The beds were very comfortable. Note that only nimble people (i.e. kids) will be able to climb up to the loft beds! The McCauley House was built in 1920 as a single family home. From what we can tell the McCauley Family owned it for nearly 100 years and at some point in time they did a conversion to a 4-plex apartment building. We bought the building in 2022 and have worked hard to restore every room. In this apartment you will find an original fireplace and all of the modern amenities that you would expect to include a King Bed, Fully Stocked Kitchen and Tile Shower. The apartment features High Speed Internet with an access point for ethernet and Smart TV's in both the living room and the bedroom.

The main house has Smart Locks where all tenants will enjoy common space, laundry room and a great front porch seating area - this porch is the best spot in the house for watching storms! All apartments are rented as full units with two entrances/exits for safety and convenience.

We are not far from the property and we will be able to help if you were to need anything but we will not be stopping by or checking in unless you specifically needed something.

BEFORE booking, please read! Studio space with a convertible couch that lays back into a full size (people either really enjoy this or not at all, there’s no in between 🤣). Pillow top included for extra comfort. Full bathroom with original claw foot tub. Monitor to connect devices to. Coffee maker, microwave, small fridge, and toaster oven. This space is above a garage so there is a stairwell. PLEASE NOTE: our home is over 100 years old and with plaster walls, so wi-fi is spotty!

Street and driveway parking. Neighborhood is walking friendly with sidewalks everywhere. Walk to arboretum and shops / dining downtown.

We are new! We’d love to host you so that you can provide feedback for us! As noted there’s a convertible couch for sleeping and wi-fi can be spotty with the 100 year old plaster walls! There are stairs to reach the studio, which is above the garage. We do make space for you in the driveway, but that does mean a car will be in the garage. You might hear us lifting / lowering the garage door, but we do try to minimize that.

From what we can tell the McCauley Family owned it for nearly 100 years and at some point in time they did a conversion to a 4-plex apartment building. We bought the building in 2022 and have worked hard to restore every room. in this apartment you will find 2 original fireplaces, 11' Ceilings and all of the modern amenities that you would expect to include a King Bed, Fully Stocked Kitchen and Large Soaking Tub. The apartment features High Speed Internet with an access point for ethernet and Smart TV's in both the living room and the bedroom.
