PLEASE NOTE for November- March bookings: During these winter months, we strongly advise that a four-wheel drive (4WD) or all-wheel drive (AWD) vehicle is required. While there are plenty of dry weekends during those months when a regular vehicle would be fine, you cannot know that in advance. Please take this warning seriously for those months. For the rest of the year, regular 2wd vehicles are fine.



Dogs are welcome! There is a limit of 2, with a pet fee of $50 per. Unfortunately, we can't accept cats. Sorry about that!



Check-in is at 3:00 PM, and check-out is at 11:00 a.m. Early check-in or late check-out may be available; ask us!



There is no trash service in the area, so please take your trash with you.you where to take it, Instructions in the cabin tell so you don’t have to take it all the way home! Alternatively, the house manager can take them for a tip of $5 per bag.



Please note: The optional firewood charge of $10/night is for firewood. If you don't think you will use the firewood or would like to bring your own, please let us know! We are more than happy to refund that to you.

The Cowboy Cabin is one of two non-connected duplex cabins. The Cowboy Cabin is dog-friendly, with two dogs the maximum number allowed. We kindly ask that all dogs be kept on a leash while on the premises, for the safety of both our farm animals and your pets.

The cabin features one bedroom with a queen bed, one bathroom with a shower & jacuzzi tub, fully equipped kitchen, comfortable dining and living space, flat screen cable TV and Wi-Fi. Linens and kitchenware are provided. They both have a covered, wrap-around porch with rocking chairs and stunning views of the property, as well as an outdoor common area with fire pit and gas grill. Propane and firewood also provided.

The cabins are spaced out so there is no worry of being on top of other guests. The location is a short drive into town and about 20 minutes to the National Park. Honestly, the best part of our weekend was sitting on the porch in the rocking chairs watching the mountains, clouds and birds. The only item that was unfortunate was that there is no seating that is comfortable for watching TV. But we really didn't have much time for that anyway with the hot tub, swing and rocking chairs. We have a high speed Comcast internet to make it easier for guests to work from cabin, or watch your favorite shows. For the safety of the property and the guests, we recently installed a ring camera on the light pole . The camera cannot capture any activity happening outside or inside the cabin or backyard.

*Please be advised this is a Mountainous Property. The main and secondary roads are paved. However there are many side roads which are gravel or hard packed dirt surfaces. You may experience potholes, ruts, steep inclines and rough terrain. Most front wheel drive vehicles have no trouble accessing the property from these roads as long as you drive safely and slowly. We do not recommend low profile vehicles such as sports cars or motorcycles. During the inclement weather of the winter season such as snow or ice you will be required to have 4 wheel drive or tire chains. We also recommend Travel Insurance during winter months. We will consider service dog on case by case basis.
Please Note that we do not give refunds for road conditions and electricity outage that are out of our control. We strongly recommend a 4 wheeled drive vehicle or a truck to access this property during the winter season.

We did have issues hooking up to the TV but it wasn't a top priority so didn't impact our stay. Cabins 9 and 10 are the first two you see when you drive in, so I can see how other cabins might be more ideal but we didn't have any issues with privacy even with tenants in the neighboring cabins. Notes for the future: bring charcoal if you want to grill, fold out chairs for the bon fire would be helpful (there's only a bench), and just FYI the bed is a queen size. Great stay. "

The main roads are easy to navigate and there is a elongated uphill drive to enter Tanner`s Ridge Mountain. Once in the neighborhood you would need to drive on gravel roads cautiously for about 10 min, we highly recommend 4x4 especially during snow days. There is a steep driveway with lots of flat space to park at the top.

This unique setting up in the mountains is accessed by a gravel State Road and steep 1/4 mile long gravel driveway which requires a sufficient Front-Wheel Drive Vehicle (i.e. Honda CRV, Ford Explorer, Toyota Highlander, Volvo XC 60). FWD sedans generally do NOT make it up the driveway. Most FWD drive minivans do not make it all the way up the driveway due to the weight distribution. A Rear Wheel Drive Vehicle will not make it up the driveway. AWD vehicles have no issues accessing the property and are preferable to ensure complete mobility.

Guests should enable Wifi Calling in their cellular phone settings to achieve optimal service when making phone calls. There is limited to no cellular service for Verizon / AT&T customers. T-Mobile users tend to have the best results for cellular calls.

- "We were unable to stay at the cabin due to heavy rain and possible flooding in the area for that day and the next few days. We live a few hours away and were coming up for a day for my husband to fish and for me to make Vlog videos of the scenery. We are in our 70s and travel for us was dangerous so we turned around and came home. I inquired with the Seller if they would be willing to allow us to change to a few days later, given the cabin was not rented the night before we would come up. We were only staying a day and requesting the change within a few days. It's not like we were trying to rebook f6 months down the road or for a week or more. It was a simple request that we feel could have easily been accommodated. They refused. We had an air-bnb for 5 years and we would have gladly worked out this simple arrangement with a renter. We will be planning the trip again but we will not rent this cabin nor any others this Seller may have. It's a shame because had we liked the cabin, we would have rented it multiple times in the future since we live in the area."

This studio cabin has one large room for living, dining, and bedroom areas. The kitchen is separated by a wall and the bathroom is private. In the fall, there is an apple tree in the yard that provides a sweet snack for you to pick! Internet is very slow- enough for you to access your maps and your email, but not enough for streaming and not always guaranteed. A landline is provided for emergencies.

The roads to get to the cabin are STEEP gravel roads. They can be tough to navigate in the winter. We strongly encourage all-wheel or 4-wheel drive vehicles, especially Oct-March. If there is no snow, we have no problem getting around in our small car; however, sometimes the break light comes on when we are driving back down Tanner’s Ridge Rd. because it is so steep.

There are also 2 houses within sight of the cabin. When you look out the large windows in the living room, they’re behind you so they don’t obstruct your view.

Newly remodeled cabin nestled in the mountains of the Page Valley in Pine Grove, this cabin is the perfect retreat from the hustle & bustle of a busy life. This cabin is named after my grandmother Brownie, who always wanted a cabin near here.

This cabin has a queen bed in the bedroom and a sleeper sofa in the living room. This cabin also features a full bathroom with shower/tub and washer/dryer.
Work from the cabin with high speed internet! Please note there is absolutely no cell phone reception at the cabin. You will have high-speed Wi-Fi that will allow you to make wi-fi calls.
Also to note, this is a cabin in the woods by the Shenandoah National Park! There are a lot of beautiful scenic views around the cabin, but also visible is a small family cemetery that is not on the property. This is well maintained and should not take away from your visit.

This is a 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom rustic cabin with a basement. The basement has a washer and dryer for your laundry convenience. The master bedroom has a queen sized mattress with closet. The living room has a pullout couch which is a comfortable queen sized foam mattress and boasts a 50" flat screen TV with over 250 DVD's/Blu-ray and Wi-Fi internet. The Roku offers free TV programming. There is also a phone landline. Outside you will find a deck with seating and grill. There is also a firepit with firewood for your usage.

The Wild West Cabin is one of two non-connected duplex cabins. It features one bedroom with a queen bed, one bathroom with a shower & jacuzzi tub, fully-equipped kitchen, comfortable dining and living space, flat screen cable TV and Wifi. Linens and kitchenware are provided. It has a covered, wrap-around porch with rocking chairs and stunning views of the property, as well as an outdoor common area with fire pit and gas grill. The space
Duplex Cabin

The Wild West Cabin is one of two non-connected duplex cabins. It features one bedroom with a queen bed, one bathroom with a shower & jacuzzi tub, fully-equipped kitchen, comfortable dining and living space, flat screen cable TV and wifi. Linens and kitchenware are provided.  They both have a covered, wrap-around porch with rocking chairs and stunning views of the property, as well as an outdoor common area with fire pit and gas grill. Propane and firewood also provided. Each cabin is ramp-accessible for easy entry.

On the ranch, guests can enjoy fishing, birding, and walking trails. Trail rides along our piece of the Shenandoah's South Fork are available to guests and the general public, and can accommodate all ages and abilities. RBR offers something for all ages and interests, with convenient access to Luray Caverns, Skyline Drive, the charming town of Luray, hiking trails, kayaking, canoe rentals, and more. Kids (and adults!) will love meeting our farm animals, including sheep, cows, chickens (and sometimes baby chicks!), horses, barn cats, and our friendly, attention-loving dog.

Red Gate Cabin is a one-of-a-kind luxury retreat adjoining the Shenandoah National Park. At an elevation of 1,800 feet, the air is cooler in the summer and the views are spectacular year-round. The cabin is only 225 feet from the Shenandoah National Park and has no neighbors in sight. During your stay you will enjoy modern amenities including a level 2 electric vehicle (EV) charger, spacious outdoor decks, rocking chairs, smart TVs, a Breeo firepit (with firewood provided), views for miles and miles, and so much more! This cabin was designed by David & Lauren, who are local owners/operators, on a truly unique property as their personal retreat with nature and privacy in mind.

The Location
The property contains 20 secluded acres and is exceptionally private. It is not located within a development or subdivision like many other cabins in the area. There are no houses or neighbors in sight. The cabin is located just under 2 hours away from Washington DC, 1.5 hours from Charlottesville, VA, and a little over 2 hours from Richmond, VA.

Private Access to the Shenandoah National Park
For outdoor activities the cabin offers guests hiking, biking, running, and walking DIRECTLY into the Shenandoah National Park from the cabin. This access is private, not shared with any other properties, and is only available to our guests. Just one of the many things which makes the Red Gate Cabin truly unique!

Just let us know what items you need so we can accommodate (we have a highchair, pack n’ play, baby monitor, noise machines, a vintage L.L. Bean hiking backpack carrier (a true throwback to David’s childhood), plastic dishes/cups, and kids’ toys / books / games)!

Other things to note
Access Road
The cabin is surrounded on 3 sides by the Shenandoah National Park. The private access road to the cabin is a gravel / paved road for 0.5 miles and gains elevation. In winter months and snowy conditions we strongly advise driving a 4WD or AWD vehicle. In all other seasons / conditions the cabin can be easily accessed by all vehicle types (except RVs, if you have an RV lets talk as we might have a parking solution on the property!).

Rules / Policies
Only guests included in the booking reservation are allowed on the property. Therefore, it is important to include the correct number of guests in the reservation. Please update your reservation accordingly if that number changes after your initial booking. The guest booking must be 24 years of age or older and must be present during the ENTIRE stay (i.e. you may not book for others if you are not actually staying at the cabin). No parties or events, visitors, or guests not on the reservation.

We love our pets (our family dog is a standard poodle), but pets are not currently permitted at the cabin or on the surrounding 20 acres. We can recommend a great local pet boarding facility for your furry friends!

Quiet hours of 10pm to 8am are dictated by local ordinance. To enjoy all the sounds of nature around you it is important to be quiet and listen! You may hear a deer walking through the forest or a turkey in the yard (but hunting is not allowed).

Fireworks are strictly prohibited. Smoking/vaping/hookah is never allowed inside and anywhere outside the cabin. A $500/day penalty will be incurred if any sign or smell of smoke is encountered after the guest checks out and the costs of deep cleaning to remove the smell will be billed to the guest. The cabin is surrounded by woods and we don’t want a forest fire!

At the sole discretion of the hosts, an additional cleaning fee of $250 will be incurred if additional clean-up is required that rises above the standard cleaning process. Any damage to property or furnishings will be billed to the guest. We don’t anticipate this will ever be an issue (it hasn't yet), just clean up after yourself please!

If a guest violates house rules and thereby triggers a refund/discount for the next guest scheduled to stay at the cabin, you will be responsible for any loss of income incurred. We don’t anticipate this will ever be an issue either (it hasn't yet), but we ask you abide by checkout times, if you get in a jam just message us and we will see if we can figure something out.

By completing an online reservation, you are confirming that you read and agreed to the terms, rules and conditions in this listing and under Additional Rules section. The initial payment will act as an electronic signature accepting rules and policies. If a pet is found to have been on the property a deep cleaning fee of $500 will be charged plus any material damage caused by the pet. We reserve the right to request a photo or scan of a government-issued photo ID and require additional documents signed. Violations of any rule / policy may result in the immediate removal of all guests without a refund in the sole discretion of the hosts.

Red Gate Cabin is less than 4 miles to the Pavilion at Shenandoah Woods / Brenwood Lake Weddings, and is within 15 minutes of many other venues including Stover Hall, South Fork Barn & Event Venue, Riverbend Ranch, and Stoneyman Valley Ranch. Many couples choose the cabin as their home base. Sometimes a bride stays at the cabin to get ready with her bridesmaids, or parents stay to have a few moments away from the hustle and bustle. To help you look your best for the big day, we have a full-length mirror, iron, lint roller, ironing board, and much more! Newly married couples can also enjoy their honeymoon at the cabin, where they can relax in its seclusion and tranquility.

Hemlock Hollow cabin is located on over 6 wooded acres at the end of a private drive. on secluded property offering peace and quiet. Night Sky is great for stargazing. Bird watching is excellent too!

There is a stream at the border of the property about 60' from the front porch and deck! The Shenandoah Brook Trout can be found in the stream.

Hemlock Hollow is Named for the Hemlock Trees that needed to move to be replaced by the Cabin. There are still Hemlock Trees Located on the site.

Guests are renting the entire home. There is a stocked pond for fishing , swimming, 1/2 Mile away. Nature trails and Gated Foot, Horse, Bike, Access to the Shenandoah National Park is located 1/2 mile from cabin. SNP access is Gated FOOT, BIKE, HORSE(bring you own) access only

Please Note: This cabin is perched on a hilltop at higher elevation, where it can be noticeably windier than the valley below. From time to time, strong winds or storms may displace the hot tub cover, grill cover, or outdoor furniture—we’ve already lost several covers due to this.

To help prevent damage, we kindly ask that you secure the covers to the deck railing when using the hot tub or grill. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated in helping us maintain this beautiful space for all guests.

Other things to note
*Please be advised this is a Mountainous Property. The main and secondary roads are paved. However there are many side roads which are gravel or hard packed dirt surfaces. You may experience potholes, ruts, steep inclines and rough terrain. Most front wheel drive vehicles have no trouble accessing the property from these roads as long as you drive safely and slowly. We do not recommend low profile vehicles such as sports cars or motorcycles. During the inclement weather of the winter season such as snow or ice you will be required to have 4 wheel drive or tire chains. We also recommend Travel Insurance during winter months. We will consider service dog on case by case basis.

Please Note that we do not give refunds for road conditions and electricity outage that are out of our control. We strongly recommend a 4 wheeled drive vehicle or a truck to access this property during the winter season.

The main roads are easy to navigate and there is a elongated uphill drive to enter Tanner's Ridge Mountain. Once in the neighborhood you would need to drive on gravel roads cautiously for about 10 min, we highly recommend 4x4 especially during snow days. There is a steep driveway with lots of flat space to park at the top.

-‼️🌟The driveway is a long, uneven, and somewhat steep gravel road. AWD is recommended. It’s how we’re able to have the seclusion we have!🌟‼️
-We charge a one time $50 pet fee regardless of how many pets. If you indicate in your search i.e. 2 guests 1 pet Airbnb will divide the pet fee across your nightly rate. If we put the nightly rate as $300 it will actually indicate it's $325/night for a 2 night stay due to it incorporating the fee automatically.
-$150 cleaning fee (now that the app doesn’t break down the costs)
-We do NOT provide firewood for the outdoor fire pit/indoor fireplace nor charcoal for the grill.
-The water is well water and is safe to use. We have upgraded the filtration system and installed a softening system. Expect bubbles in water from the system doing its job and they will dissipate.
-We have a tankless water heater, so hot water takes a minute to heat up.
-We upgraded the internet to a faster speed, but it is satellite internet. (We've had no issues)
-The property does use a septic tank.
*we do try to overstock and provide as many items as possible, but sometimes smaller items go missing in between guests and unnoticed, so if something is missing that you expected to be there, our apologies! There are plenty of stores within 15mins to grab whatever you could possibly need though*

1. 🏠 Full Access: Guests will have full access to the Evergreen property.

2. 🚗 Driving Conditions: In dry conditions 2WD vehicles can make it. However, we highly recommend using an AWD/4WD vehicle, especially from November to April due to snowy and wet conditions. The property can be accessed via a short gravel road with a steeper section at the end; feel free to use the designated parking area before the steepest part. Please plan on arriving before dark.

3. 🔒 Security: For your safety and the security of the property, there is a locked gate at the entrance and a Ring camera is installed by the front door.

4. 🛁 Hot Tub Etiquette: To keep the hot tub clean and enjoyable, please shower and clean your feet before entering.

5. 🚭 Smoking Policy: We ask that you refrain from smoking indoors to maintain a pleasant environment for all guests.

6. 💧 Well Water: The property is supplied with safe-to-drink well water; however, the natural minerals may cause some staining in the tub and toilets.

Please note that The Evergreen is a mountain property. While a two-wheel drive vehicle can typically access the cabin, we highly recommend using an all-wheel or four-wheel-drive vehicle, especially in wet conditions. From November to April, we strongly advise having a four-wheel-drive vehicle for navigating snowy and wet roads. Virginia may experience plenty of dry days during these months, but conditions can be unpredictable. Take this warning seriously, as the property is located on a gravel road that, although short, contains a steep section in the last 50ft. There is a lower parking area that avoids this last section if needed. Please plan on checking in before dark. Refunds for cancellations due to weather conditions are not offered, so please be aware of these factors and prepare accordingly before booking your stay.

As The Evergreen is located in the mountains, it is surrounded by diverse wildlife, including bears. To avoid attracting animals and prevent pest issues, we kindly ask guests to clean the kitchen thoroughly every evening and ensure all food is securely stored. Please refrain from leaving any food or trash outside, as this can draw wildlife. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe environment for all!

- Game room and 3rd bedroom are part of an open space layout.
Easy access via a flat gravel road. AWD/4x4 strongly recommended in winter or during snow, ice, or heavy rain. In inclement weather, for added precaution, we also recommend carrying tire chains, even if your vehicle has AWD or 4x4 capabilities.
- There are two homes visible from the cabin (quiet neighborhood , cabin is not secluded, but the backyard is private).
- No smoking or parties allowed.
-Firewood and charcoal are not provided, so please bring your own if you'd like to use the fire pit or grill.
- Your well-trained pup is welcome for a small pet fee — we love furry guests!
- Basement is not accessible to guests.

Rustic Ridge Retreat is located on a mountain road. While it’s on a flat gravel road, please note that during inclement weather, such as snow or icy conditions, AWD, 4x4 or tire chains are required. On that note — although regular pest control measures are taken, the property is in the woods, which means insects may occasionally find their way inside.

The most common insects that may be encountered are flies, stink bugs, and ladybugs. It is important to note that these insects are not harmful, and their presence is merely an annoyance rather than a threat.

Luxurious Private River Cabin nestled 50 feet from the bank of the Shenandoah River!

The space
The cabin is a cozy, quaint and private "tree house" type of dwelling, overlooking the Shenandoah River. It has a fully-equipped kitchen, with all the usual appliances, tools, and utensils, including coffee maker, blender, and microwave. The kitchen and living areas are combined and offer a leather sofa with queen pull-out bed. Most of my guests truly love the giant XXL bean bag available for serious rest and relaxation! The balcony overlooking the river is also a hot spot for guests to let go of city life and modern stresses. The upstairs bedroom offers a king bed and queen bed with accompanying dressers. Bedspreads, blankets and pillows are always available and I do offer sheet sets and towels at extra cost. Most of my guests prefer to bring their own. The bathroom is a shower with full-sized stack washer/dryer unit. The riverfront area is perfect for fishing, and launching a boat or canoe or kayak. The cabin does come with access to a canoe with jackets and paddles at no extra charge. There is also a nature trail which crosses right in front of the cabin and goes for about 1/2 mile downriver in which guests have permission to use. The cabin is in a very private setting with no dwellings in eyesight or earshot, including across the river. It is truly relaxing, beautiful and rejuvenating for most everyone who has enjoyed a visit!

The entire two story cabin, plus the balcony and the patio below the cabin. Also 500 feet of river frontage starting at the creek. The adjoining landowner has agreed to allow my guests to use the adjoining nature trail which stops at about 1/2 mile downriver.

Other things to note
Many of my guests get to view interesting wildlife while at the cabin. During the canoe/kayak/tube season, guests will sometimes see fishermen, fisherwomen, and other river-lover folks floating down the river.

Enter through a hallway into the kitchen/dining/living areas and find rustic modern decor that creates an atmosphere suitable for romance and families alike. The cabin features an open floor plan, vaulted ceilings, a fireplace, and a well-stocked kitchen. One king bedroom + one queen bedroom + two baths are also on the main floor.

The main level is accessible with only two steps up from the outside.

Experience serenity at Balk Oasis! Come stay with us and make memories in our 2 bedrooms, 2 bath cabin. We are close to Luray zoo. The area is close to various vineyards and offers hiking opportunities. We are just under 2 hours from Washington DC, and about 1.5 from Charlottesville, Virginia.

Where you’ll sleep:
Primary bedroom: king size bed with en suite bathroom, TV.
Bedroom 2: 2 twin beds.
Bathrooms: Two full bathrooms.

The cabin features a living room with modern decor and smart TV. We ask that you bring your own Roku login credentials. Enjoy Mountain views from the living room. There are board games in the living room.
The dining area is equipped with a dining table with ample seating.
The washer and dryer located in the cabin for your convenience. We provide starter supply of laundry detergents. Please bring your supply of laundry detergents if you anticipate needing more.

The kitchen is fully equipped with appliances, including a refrigerator, electric stove with oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, 2 coffee makers (drip coffee machine and kuerig machine), kettle, pot and pans, dishes and utensils. We provide coffee, including coffee pods, select teas, creamers, sweeteners, select herbs/spices. We also provide starter supply of dish soap, dishwasher tablets, laundry detergents, toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags. Please bring additional supply if staying more than a couple of days.

Outdoors: enjoy endless panoramic mountain views from the porch. There are 2 rocking chairs for your relaxation.
There is a 6 person hot tub in the back of the cabin for relaxation.
There is a charcoal grill (we ask that you bring your own charcoal), a designated fire pit area with Adirondack chairs, all in the back of the cabin.

We provide linens and towels for your convenience. We also provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash.

* PETS:
Dogs are allowed with prior approval from the host. By submitting this online reservation, you agree to the following:
- Only dogs that have been approved by the host in advance of the check-in date are allowed on the property.
- The guest may bring a maximum of 2 dogs, each weighing 50 Ibs or less to the property, as specified in the host's approval.
- The guest agrees to be sorely responsible for the care, behavior, and actions of their dogs while on the property.
- The guest agrees that that pets will not be left unattended in the property unless they are properly crated or confined in an appropriate manner.
- Pets are STRICTLY NOT allowed on furniture or beds. It is difficult to remove pet hair and dander from furniture and we are trying to be mindful of guests that may have allergies.

Pet wastes and accidents:
The guest agrees to pick up and properly dispose of any fecal waste produced by their pets while on the Property. The guest also agrees to promptly clean up any pet accidents that occur within the property using the provided enzyme cleaner. Failure to clean up after pets or address accidents properly will result in additional cleaning fees.

Damage and liability:
The guest acknowledges and assumes full responsibility for any damages caused by their pets to the property or its contents. The guest agrees to promptly report any damages to the host. The host may charge additional fees for repairs or replacement necessitated by pet-related damages.

Pet Cleaning fees:
The guest agrees to pay a non-refundable pet cleaning fee of $175 at the time of signing this Agreement. The pet cleaning fee covers the additional cleaning required to remove pet hair and dander from the Property. The fee is separate from any potential fees for damages caused by pets.
Additional fees of $200 per pet will be charged if not previously on the reservation.

Additional fees:
In the event that pet-related damages occur, the guest agrees to be responsible for all additional costs associated with the repairing or replacing damaged items or restoring the Property to its original condition.

** We cannot confirm early arrivals or late checkout until 1 day prior to your check-in date. If we can accommodate your request, a $50 fee will apply for each request. Early arrival is 3 pm, and late checkout is 10:30 am.

Please note: we own another cabin next to this one and they both share the same driveway. However, each cabin has its own separate parking space.

We use a third party company, Truvi for ID verification and damage waiver/security deposit. You’ll be contacted by Truvi to complete this process after booking.

We are located in a wooded area, which means there may be bugs and animals, including snakes, spiders, bear, ladybugs especially during the warmer months. Even with extreme carefulness, some bugs may find their way into the cabin. For these reasons, we ask that you KEEP ALL DOORS AND WINDOWS CLOSED AT ALL TIMES. We also ask that you DO NOT LEAVE FOOD OR TRASH OUTSIDE, as this would attract wild animals. We have regular pest control services at the cabin.

No illegal substances and activities. Violation of this rule will result in immediate eviction.

This is a non-smoking cabin. A penalty of $300 will be imposed if any signs or smell of smoke are detected.

Strictly no weapons are allowed at this cabin.

We use private well and septic system. Despite our use of filtration system, the well water may have high mineral content and may have odor/color. We recommend using bottled water.
The septic system is effective under normal conditions. Feminine hygiene products should never be flushed. Only toilet paper should be flushed. Guests will be responsible for repair charges resulting from damage caused by improper use of the septic system.

Waiver of liability for use of hot tub:
Guest agree to exercise extreme caution while using the hot tub at the cabin. Guests are responsible for any repair charges due to damage to the hot tub or property caused by their actions. It is mandatory that anybody using the hot tub should shower and clean their feet beforehand. Glass products are strictly prohibited in and around the hot tub. Guest acknowledge and accept the risk inherent in using the hot tub and release the host/ property owners from any claims, liabilities, or losses arising from hot tub usage, including but not limited to personal injury or property damage, regardless of negligence.

The cabin is child friendly but not childproofed. Please supervise your child at all times.

We own the cabin next to this one and they both share the same driveway. However, each cabin has its own separate parking space.

Perched on 1 acre on the East side of Roundhead Mountain, its namesake, Roundhead Mountain Lodge, is a beautiful, newly-renovated chalet offering spectacular, panoramic views of the Shenandoah National Park across the Ida, Pine Grove and Tanners Ridge.  With pine paneling throughout, 3 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, 2 of which are master suites with 15-foot vaulted ceilings, along with a large wraparound deck, and upstairs balcony, you will be in the perfect place to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing getaway.   The Master Spa hot tub is conveniently located on the deck where you may contemplate the idyllic surroundings and benefit from its exclusive therapy features: Stress Relief Neck Seat, Bio-Magnetic therapy system, among others. And, of course, you will be a stone’s throw from the many activities that the Shenandoah valley and its national parks have to offer.

A Video Surveillance camera monitors the exterior parking/driveway of our home. A photo of what is monitored can be seen in the photos. Footage remains private and may be used for liability reasons and to monitor occupancy/pets and other policies noted in our lease agreement.

Enjoy this beautiful and spacious, family oriented mountain cabin near Luray Caverns, with great views and 2,400 square feet of living space! The cabin has 3 bedrooms (1 king and 2 queen beds, 1 full hide-a-bed sofa) , Two and a half baths, and a LARGE HOT TUB, Pool Table, Firepit, TVs with Blu-ray players (42 inch upstairs, 65 inch smart TV downstairs), and excellent wifi. Book 7 nights and receive a 5% discount! ACTIVE DUTY DISCOUNT 5%!

The space
The cabin has a large king master bedroom, with en suite half bath upstairs, a full bath upstairs, and two queen bedrooms and a full bath downstairs (3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths). Clean and fresh linens are provided for the 3 bedrooms in sealed bins for your safety and convenience. A hide-a-bed provides extra sleeping space. A beautiful slate pool table in the lower finished basement for challenging your friends, and a 65 inch smart t.v. round out the large and bright lower level. Upstairs is the full kitchen, dining area, and sitting area with 42 inch tv and the king bedroom with half bath, and full hall bath. Two sliding doors provide access to the full length deck (partially covered) with great mountain views, the large hot tub, fire table, and gas bbq grill. Great opportunities for star gazing on the open deck and from the hot tub! A large fire pit and horseshoe pits are also on the property. The property is in a remote, mountain development with access to a small fishing lake, and Big Meadows Park is within hiking distance (not driving). The large and bright finished full basement has a wall of windows and walkout atrium door leading to a lower deck, parking area, and the fire pit. In addition to a Mr. Coffee drip machine, we have a Keurig cup machine.

GUEST RATES : The charge for a night's stay provides for up to FOUR persons (for additional persons over 4 (up to 8) there is a charge of $25 per person /per night. Please note we do allow pets, but ONLY ONE HOUSE TRAINED DOG UNDER 75 POUNDS. We charge a flat pet fee of $100. Sorry, no cats or other pets permitted. Please clean up after your dog. Your dog may not be left unattended in the home, and must be on a leash when outside on the property.

FOUR WHEEL DRIVE OR ALL WHEEL IS RECOMMENDED.

Mattis Mountain Getaway is located on a mountain road. While it’s on a flat gravel road please note that during inclement weather, such as snow or icy conditions, AWD, 4x4 or tire chains are required. For added precaution, we also highly recommend carrying tire chains, even if your vehicle has AWD or 4x4 capabilities

On that note — although regular pest control measures are taken, the property is in the woods, which means insects may occasionally find their way inside.

The most common insects that may be encountered are flies, stink bugs, and ladybugs. It is important to note that these insects are not harmful, and their presence is merely an annoyance rather than a threat.

Most cellphone providers do not work in the area; however, we have Starlink internet and you will be able to stay connected during your stay.

Also, we don’t want to kill the fun, but please; no smoking or parties are permitted.

Finally, your well-trained furry friend is welcome here for an additional fee.

Autumn Ridge is located "up Tanner's Ridge," as the locals say. Secluded enough to give you the private getaway you're craving, but with all the comforts of home (and a hot tub!) Pet friendly! Even Spot can come and enjoy! Make sure to stop on your way up at some of the scenic overlooks and take ALL the pictures- you'll see some of the beautiful views from the road up in the cabin pictures.

PLEASE NOTE for November- March bookings: We strongly advise that a four-wheel drive (4WD) or all-wheel drive (AWD) vehicle is required during these winter months. While there are plenty of dry weekends during those months when a regular vehicle would be fine, you cannot know that in advance. Please take this warning seriously for those months. For the rest of the year, regular 2WD vehicles are fine.

Dogs are welcome! There is a limit of 2, with a pet fee of $50 per. Unfortunately, we can't accept cats. Sorry about that!

Check-in is at 3:00 PM, and check-out is at 11:00 a.m. Early check-in or late check-out may be available; ask us!

A separate security deposit is required for this property. Please feel free to ask us if you have any questions—we are happy to answer them!

There is no trash service in this area. Please take your trash with you—there is information in the cabin on where to take it so that you don't have to take it all the way home with you!
