- "Loved this place! The views were amazing and the hot tub was a bonus. It was close to Shenandoah and the Caverns. The place is well maintained and clean. It was a perfect getaway for the two of us. If only we had more time to enjoy the hot tub. Hope to be back again!" - "I planned a trip out here with my wife while we had some time off to travel. (Early Spring 2024) It's a 15-20 minute drive to Luray Caverns, and just past that there is a Wal-Mart where we picked up some groceries for our stay. Several National Parks are also in close proximity. We would definitely stay at The Chalet again, it's a quiet and relaxing place to spend a couple of days."

The Falling Leaf Cabin sleeps up to 4 guest, features 2 bedrooms with Queen Beds and 1 & 1/2 Baths. The main bedroom is a spacious loft, while the second downstairs bedroom has a private half bath. The fully equipped Kitchen leads to a Dining and Living area with hardwood floors , 18' vaulted ceilings with a Gas Log Stone fireplace. A cozy upper back deck has a beautiful view of the Massanutten Mountain. Outside, listen to the sounds of nature as you relax in the Hot Tub. - "This is the perfect location to get away from screens and get off the grid. Close and easy access to Shenandoah National Park, Luray Caverns, and the Appalachian trail. Andrea was so super helpful and solid with communication!" - "The property was charming and beautiful. The cabin felt very cozy. The kitchen was perfect, I loved all the appliances and it had everything you could need to cook. Pots and pans, dishes and bowls, mixers and utensils. It has it all. The hot tub was wonderful especially in the early morning when it's chilly. Perfect size charcoal grill that we cooked a couple of amazing meals on. The Wi-Fi is a little spotty but all in all worked surprisingly well. My son brought his gaming system and it worked quite well. I wasn't impressed with the cleanliness. We encountered a few things like the refrigerator was dirty inside and also the microwave. The oven hasn't been cleaned in awhile. Silverware, pots and pans were dirty and we found a pair of dirty underwear left in the dresser drawer downstairs. But even with that I would definitely stay there again. It was very relaxing and that was most important."

This beautiful cabin is calling all nature lovers. Sitting on the bank of the Shenandoah River, you will enjoy hearing the sound of the majestic water roll by throughout the day and evening as you partake in various outdoor activities or simply relax and take in the scenery from the large back deck of the cabin. The cabin is nicely appointed with updates to the kitchen and both bathrooms. Two rooms have queen beds and one bedroom has two full size beds. The large, open family room with river rock stone fireplace (gas) makes for a warm and enjoyable entertainment setting. There is an outdoor pit by the river for cozy "campfires" -- and an outdoor gas grill for cooking.

The cabin has been well equipped with all the household necessities -- you just need to remember to pack your own bedroom linens and towels to use because linens are NOT provided. (2 Queen and 2 Full). There is a washer/dryer at the cabin.

The town of Luray is less than five miles from the cabin. Luray offers shopping, dining, and entertainment options for the entire family. Luray Caverns is one of the largest and most popular attractions in the Eastern United States -- and, of course, it is hard to beat the Shenandoah Skyline Drive in the Fall. There are a number of local outdoor companies that provide kayak, canoeing, tubing, horseback riding, and many other options. Two ski resorts are within one hour of the cabin.

The cabin really is a little oasis away from the hustle-and-bustle of modern life. We hope you might consider visiting us -- and we guarantee you will find something you will enjoy!

Spent lots of time in the river and enjoyed the riverside fire ring. And, we were lucky enough to be there for a meteor shower. I've rented riverside cabins in the area a number of times and, while they have all been enjoyable, this one was my favorite."

The cabin accommodates up to four guests (with the possibility of accommodating two additional guests upon request) and is fully equipped for handicap accessibility.

Inside, you'll find two queen beds and a double bed in the third bedroom, with sheets and towels provided. Air conditioning keeps you comfortable in the summer, while an electric fireplace adds warmth and ambiance during cooler months.

Outside, two spacious decks beckon you to relax amidst the trees, while a luxurious hot tub and gas BBQ grill offer additional opportunities for enjoyment.

Plan to relax away from it all! The cabin is out where you can see all the stars at night. Don't forget your eggs and bacon as it is a 17 mile trip back to Luray, and 7 miles are gravel road. So just plan to stay and chill or not--in the hot tub!

Below the cabin is a picnic table, fire ring and charcoal grill. Across the 7.5 acre field is the driveway to the river frontage and boat landing (#20). There is a fire pit there too. Great fishing.

The cabin is on 7.5 acres along with three other cabins which share the river frontage/landing (#20). Shenandoah River Outfitters uses this private boat landing. Plan to reserve canoe, kayak, raft and tubes trip with us, Shenandoah River Outfitters, for lots of river fun between April and Nov 1st.

We have a two-night min stay on weekends, one-night min during the week. (3-nights on holiday weekends) We offer special 4-day mid-week rates and week long rates.

Plan a longer stay and explore Luray, Luray Caverns and the Shenandoah National Park--great hiking. Do some shopping and catch dinner before driving back out to the cabin and the hot tub!

-Please note: YOU CANNOT SEE THE RIVER FROM THE HOUSE. Due to the flood plain in the area, all houses along this side of the river are built back from the river's edge. There is a large yard in between the house and the river and you cannot see the water from where the house is. We leave the canoes down by the river's edge so that you don't have to carry them back and forth.

-There is no trash service in this area. We ask that you please take your trash with you- there is information in the cabin on where to go to take it so that you don't have to take it all the way home with you! Alternatively, housekeeping can remove it for you for a tip of $5 per bag.

The kitchen is better stocked than many rentals I have been in, with plenty of cookware, dishes, spices, etc. There was firewood, and the shed was very well organized with lots of canoe paddles, life jackets for adults and kids, inner tubes, lawn chairs, etc. The two canoes were in good shape and are kept close to the river. That section of the river is gorgeous. Also, the management company (Shenandoah Rentals) was easy to work with and has their act together when it comes to cleaning and maintenance. Overall, we were all very happy with our weekend retreat here."

I loved sitting outside in the hot tub in the morning with the sun shining through the trees, listening to the birds. There was a mix-up with the description of the property being their other Stepping Ttone property, but the owner is working to resolve it. We provide pillows and bedspreads but not Linens and Towels which would be extra at $25/bed/visit but we are not renting them during COVID. You will need to bring your own.

Below the cabin is a picnic table, fire ring and charcoal grill. Across the 7.5 acre field is the driveway to the river frontage and boat landing (#20). There is a fire pit there too. Great fishing.

The cabin is on 7.5 acres along with three other cabins which share the river frontage/landing (#20). Shenandoah River Outfitters uses this private boat landing. Plan to reserve canoe, kayak, raft and tubes trip with us, Shenandoah River Outfitters, for lots of river fun between April and Nov 1st.

We have a two-night min stay on weekends, one-night min during the week. (3-nights on holiday weekends) We offer special 4-day mid-week rates and week long rates.

Plan a longer stay and explore Luray, Luray Caverns and the Shenandoah National Park--great hiking. Do some shopping and catch dinner before driving back out to the cabin and the hot tub!

We email you directions to the cabin you reserve along with the lock box code. These cabins are on Page Valley Rd, which is north of South Page Valley Rd..

Imagine looking out from the comfortable couch & seeing the most amazing view! This cozy tiny cabin has some of the best views anywhere. It’s just over 600sq ft, but has all the amenities - full kitchen, 2BR & 2 baths, deck, Hot Tub, & wood stove. Lookout Cabin sits on the edge of the Shenandoah National Park, w/wildlife all around. The Shenandoah River is just a short drive and Skyline Drive is only a half an hour away. This is THE cabin for a relaxing or romantic getaway!

- "Originally booked a smaller cabin, but a couple issues arose so the owner hooked us up with a better cabin right down the road. Great views off back deck with a hot tub. Items that might be helpful to others: Pros: Amazing sunset views Very private and peaceful and had lights outside. There was a very small wood burner inside, but we didn't use it. Beware on your hikes and walks my dog ended up with 5 ticks so make sure you spay yourself and check your pets. Note: River Lodge is part of a large private retreat, with three other small cabins on the property – about 150 feet away from River Lodge. You will likely see guests at the other cabins, and they may also be enjoying the river (and kayaks/canoes/tubes) during your stay. That said, the property is very large – so you should easily be able to find a quiet spot on the river to call your own. And of course you’ll have your own personal hot tub and, fire pit. Our cleaning team sweeps the deck, stairs, and walkways before each arrival, but due to the natural setting, you may still notice some leaves, pollen, or similar—especially during certain seasons. We appreciate your understanding as nature tends to leave its mark, no matter how often we tidy up!

- "Excellent property at an excellent location. Clean, and not too tough to get to. Literally on the river up about 15 ft. from water. The kayak/canoe launch site is a short walk down a well maintained path. Our two issues are that the sofa bed has a very thin foam mattress and is rock hard even with the duvet cover. Also this is a TINY cabin with little space once the sofa bed is opened. Be prepared."

The dining room boasts original wood floors, picture windows with mountain views, and ample seating (14). In the basement, you'll find a seating area, foosball and a dart board, as well as another large screen TV and a selection of board games.

KITCHEN: The fully equipped kitchen features stainless steel appliances, including a refrigerator, dishwasher, electric stove, toaster, microwave, French Press, coffee maker (16 cups) electric kettle (Breville), mini air fryer, cake pop maker, waffle maker, rice cooker and various pots, pans, and utensils. We provide folgers ground coffee.

Dish soap, dishwasher tablets, laundry detergent, toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags are provided as part of the starting supplies.

A washer and dryer are available on the main level for your convenience.

Linens/Towels: We provide all linens and towels to ensure you have a comfortable stay.

Toiletries: Shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, body lotion, and hand soap are provided. We also have a small 'in case you forgot' box contains toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant and feminine hygiene products.

OUTDOOR LIVING: The cabin offers a screened porch off the main level with comfortable seating furniture perfect for enjoying the outdoors. Ground level has a 6-person hot tub and more seating with views of Shenandoah River and stargazing allowing you to unwind and enjoy the picturesque surroundings.

BOAT HOUSE: Steps away from the main cabin is your own private boat house, featuring a large patio and a 300 sqft deck and 260ft of waterfront right on Shenandoah River. Boat house has a fridge, freezer, small sink, and Weber grill and ample space for storage. It has several life jackets, single and multi-person tubes. We also offer 2 canoes for our guests.

Access/Road:

Please be aware that the cabin is located on a mountain property. To reach cabin last mile is accessed via an unpaved, gravel road. Drive slowly and exercise caution.
We recommend arriving at the cabin before dusk. No refunds or cancellations will be provided due to weather or natural disasters. Consider purchasing travel insurance for unforeseen circumstances.


Nature Alert!

This cabin is located in a secluded wooded area, which means there may be spiders, bugs, critters, and animals, especially during the warmer months. You may even encounter a bear. Even if you are very careful, some bugs may find their way inside. To minimize the number of bugs inside the cabin, please keep all doors and windows closed at all times. Additionally, at night keep the blinds down and it is important to clean the kitchen thoroughly every night and securely package all food to prevent bug intrusion. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE ANY FOOD OR TRASH OUTSIDE, as doing so will attract wild animals. We have quarterly pest control services, but no refunds will be provided if excessive bugs or critters are found in the house.

WiFi available through Starlink satellite internet. Cell service may be limited; an at&t cell signal booster is installed.

• Pets are NOT allowed on furniture or beds. It is difficult to remove pet hair and dander from furniture and we are trying to be mindful of guests that may have allergies.

Little Red Wolf is a beautiful, private cabin located on the mountain ridge with winter views of the Shenandoah River. The space
The cabin is big enough for a couple or a group of 2-3. One bed and a sofa bed are available for sleeping.

Bedroom has one queen-sized bed with a dresser and smart television with Netflix provided.

Bathroom has a sink, toilet, and tub/shower combo.

Kitchen is galley style with a refrigerator, stove/oven combo, microwave, and Keurig coffee maker. There is also a small dining table.

The living room has a queen sleeper sofa, formal chair, and smart television with Netflix provided. Other apps are available to use with your personal accounts. Lots of board games are available for your use.

The deck has a four-person hot tub, Weber propane grill, table and chairs, and two additional lounging chairs.

You'll also find a firepit with four chairs outside and a hammock nestled between the trees.

Guest access
Ridge Road is a narrow, gravel road with some hills. You shouldn't have a problem getting to the cabin in good weather in any vehicle, but be prepared for it to get a little dirty. In the case of snow, ice, or excessive rain, an AWD or 4WD vehicle is recommended.

Other things to note
The hot tub is available year round for you to enjoy. Please adhere to all posted rules for your safety and the continued good working order of the tub.

There is a wood stove in the living room that is NOT operable.

The cabin is nestled in the woods, so you can't see any neighbors when the trees are full. When they are not, you'll see a few other cabins, but you'll also have a great view of the Shenandoah River.

You may see some wildlife, so bring your cameras!

There is wifi, but please remember that rural areas have slower speeds and sometimes experience delays.

Nestled in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley- Welcome to The Hundred Acre Wood, a sweet retreat from the hectic every day. Relax and connect with nature in Pooh’s cozy A-frame. Because doing nothing often leads to the very best something.

Prep meals in the new kitchen, work remotely (if you must), and stream movies. Hang out on the deck or at the firepit enjoying mountain, river and valley views. Spend afternoons hiking countless trails nearby. But most of all, come do a little bit of nothing.

The space
This A-frame has a living area with high ceilings, a wood stove and cozy furnishings to relax and watch the 55" TV. The kitchen has recently been remodeled and provides a lovely space to cook and make specialty coffee or tea at the coffee bar. Upstairs, there is a loft bedroom with a comfy queen bed and views of the mountains. Nothing better than to wake up with a view!

Guest access
You'll have entire property to yourself during your stay! There is an adorable treehouse on the property that we plan to renovate and offer to guests, but unfortunately, it's not quite ready for guests at this time.

Please note that the property is 0.75 acres and please respect neighbors’ properties.

Other things to note
This cabin offers privacy due to its remote, rural location, only accessed by a steep gravel road. We do recommend 4WD or AWD, especially in the winter when snow is possible. You’ll realize the trip is worth it though, once you see those views!

A Bittersweet Retreat Cottage sets in private community, just 200 feet from the river, with access for water recreation. The cottage has all the comforts of home, peaceful, private, cozy, and serene. There is a fire pit & I provide the wood at no charge, comfortable Adirondack chairs are perfect for a fireside chat while taking in the mountain and river views.

It is my responsibility to collect county taxes of 5% for your stay including your pets.

The cabin has two rooms--the back room has a double bed with a bunk bed over it, and the shower stall bathroom. The front room has the kitchenette, Dish TV and a double bed futon. This cozy, luxurious cabin sleeps 4 guests, with room for two more upon request. Turtle Rock Cabin is handicap accessible, and boasts two queen beds, while the third bedroom has a double bed.

Air conditioning keeps things cool in the summer, and an electric fireplace in the main room is sure to promise cozy stays in cooler months. Outdoors, there are two large decks, a luxury hot tub, porch swing, large fire pit area, and a BBQ grill.

At Sundance you will can roam the 54 acres and take the short walk through the field to the Shenandoah River. There you can unwind in the shade of the sycamore trees and the sounds of the Shenandoah River.

Sundance is located on 54 acres. The river access is only for out guests and is shared only with the guests in our other property called Walden. The two properties are not within sight of each other and the river access is the only part of the property that is shared.

The space
Our modern, beautifully-designed tiny cabin has all the comforts of home, just nestled away in the Shenandoah mountains. River Edge is packed with amenities and fun for couples or a special personal retreat – and is the perfect home base for your getaway!

The best part about the cabin is its location: River Edge is located directly on a 1,200 foot section of the Shenandoah River. When it’s warm, it’s perfect for swimming, tubing, canoeing, and kayaking, with the public access just 25 feet from the cabin. We have canoes, kayaks, and tubes for you to use too! There’s also great fishing (we’ve caught bass and channel catfish). And at night, we love dozing off listening to the sound of the river rushing by. If you would like to access the river from your cabin, from the fire pit, walk upstream through the woods for approximately 25'. This will take you directly to the public access.

Beyond the cabin itself, we love how close we are to downtown Luray and the famous Luray Caverns – both just a 10-minute drive away. Beyond the caves (which we recommend you definitely check out), the town has fantastic breweries, restaurants, and shops for you to enjoy! And of course, you’re also just minutes from Shenandoah National Park – with amazing hiking trails and views!

The cabin includes:
- High-quality pullout queen sofa bed (it’s very comfortable and large)
- Fully-stocked kitchen with fridge, microwave, and two-burner hot plate
- Central heat and AC to keep you comfortable, no matter the weather

Outside, you’ll also find:
- A large hot tub, perfect for relaxing after a long day exploring
- Outside fire pit with seating for the whole gang

- Kayak and canoe (and paddles) – available on the property for you to enjoy

Please Note: River Edge is part of a large private retreat, with three other cabins on the property – Two other tiny cabins about 50 feet from River Edge, and another larger cabin about 150 feet away. You will likely see guests at the other cabins, and they may also be enjoying the river (and kayaks/canoes/tubes) during your stay. That said, the property is very large – so you should easily be able to find a quiet spot on the river to call your own. And of course you’ll have your own personal hot tub, and fire pit. The cabin has an EV (Electronic Vehicle) charger that you may use during your stay. There is an additional charge of $15 per stay. Please let us know if you would like to add this to your stay.

(By the way, the other two tiny cabins sleep 2 people each and the lodge sleeps 5 people – so if you’re looking to book a stay with a larger group, please contact us. Between River Edge and the other three cabins, we can accommodate up to 11 people on the entire property.)

You're staying in a tiny cabin, which means things are a bit more compact—including the bed! It may not be your standard mattress or frame, but it's cozy, thoughtfully designed for the space, and many guests find it perfectly comfortable for a restful night in the woods.

Our cleaning team sweeps the deck, stairs, and walkways before each arrival, but due to the natural setting, you may still notice some leaves, pollen, or similar—especially during certain seasons. We appreciate your understanding as nature tends to leave its mark, no matter how often we tidy up!

The Paddler is tallest of 3 cabins--makes the Mountain views that much better! The river is behind the tree line so not as visible. You can walk to the river or drive down road way on other side of the 7 acre property. We have a fire pit there too. The cabin is cozy with living area, back bedroom and loft. The kitchenette has all you need--pots, pans, dishes, 2 stove top burners but no oven. Bring your food/drink! Grill by the picnic table and firepit. The stars shine BRIGHT out in the country!

Hello from The Retreat at River's Edge! This is a peaceful waterfront property, with 4 total cabins, tucked away along the Shenandoah River. You are looking at Cabin #1, "Cottonwood Cabin". We have two large grassy riverfront acreage with 100' of river frontage that is perfect for a bbq and outdoor games during the day and there are multiple fire pits for you to roast s'mores once the sun sets. You can inner tube or kayak the river on your own or book a tour with Shenandoah River Outfitters right up the road. If you like fishing you will love our South Fork location, which is on a wide, shallow bend perfect for fly fishing. The National Forest is just a stone's throw away with endless hiking possibilities. You’ll be sure to have a delightful time immersed by nature and enjoying all the excitement the river and Luray have to offer!

Cottonwood Cabin will be your exclusive 600 square foot cabin with a sizable 200 square foot patio. There are majestic views of the river and grounds. Inside, the cabin has been splendidly renovated in a modern style. There is a kitchen with a full-sized range, stainless steel refrigerator, microwave, toaster and a Keurig coffee maker. Next to is is the living area, where you can relax in the cushy sofa (this converts to a queen bed), and a toasty electric fireplace to curl up around with hot chocolate on cooler nights. We provide a DVD player with a wide selection of DVD’s for the large flat-screen TV. There are also many games, puzzles and books for you to enjoy during your unplugged break. In the zen-like bathroom, you will find a shower/tub combo plus vanity and ladder-style shelf with plenty of storage space for all your traveling toiletries. You will have no trouble sleeping like a bear cub on our king bed with a cloud-like memory foam mattress topped with fresh, quality linens and comfortable pillows.

Start your morning with a hot cup of coffee lounging on the comfortable patio furniture listening to the birds begin their day, or perhaps catch a glimpse of a doe or wild turkey eating breakfast by the river. On a summer afternoon, you’ll be sure to see some kayaks, canoes and tubes float by on the water, or better yet, you’ll be out there yourself! Book a river excursion with Shenandoah River Outfitters just 3 miles up the road or bring your own toys and discover the river yourself! There is a large space under the patio perfect for storing your water toys.

After a full day of exploring and adventure you will be hungry! Enjoy your private charcoal grill and get those hot dogs and burgers sizzling! And save room for dessert – the fire pits will make the perfect gooey s’more! There are grill tools in the kitchen and campfire skewers hanging right outside your cabin. There are also plenty of complementary firewood on the property for you to use. Cabins #1 (Wildflower) and #4 (Honeysuckle) have private campfire pits right outside of the cabins, and all guests can enjoy the two large fire pits on the lower portion of the property.

Once evening comes, unwind in the fresh air and watch the tranquil sunset while nature sings you a goodnight song. On a clear night, there is endless stargazing, as far as the eye can see. There is nothing better than watching the night stars settle over the surrounding mountains.

We encourage guests to unplug so they can enjoy our peaceful natural habitat. However we understand the importance of being connected in today's world. Satellite WiFi is available in the cabin which will allow light internet usage such as checking emails and web browsing. Streaming and downloading will not supported, so please do not try as it will jam up the bandwidth for everyone else. The TV is set up for DVD player use only. Enjoy a movie from our provided selection or bring your family's favorites. Feel free to bring your gaming console as long as it does not require an internet connection (Mario-Cart, anyone?!).

The cabin is stocked with a beginning amount of K-cups, toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, and hand & dish soap. Fresh towels, pillows, and king sheets for the master bed, and queen sheets for the sofa bed are provided. The kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans, dishes and utensils. We do recommend stopping by a grocery store (Walmart & Food Lion are about 25 mins away in the town of Luray) to stock up on your favorite groceries and any extra items you may want before you arrive. There is not a laundry on-site so be sure to pack accordingly.

Dogs are welcome on this property, however, please keep them on a leash while outside and don’t forget to clean up after them. There are 2 dogs maximum per cabin. The fee is $40/dog per stay.

After you book, you will receive comprehensive arrival materials, including information about what to pack, as well as a detailed outline of all the local adventures, experiences and restaurants. The entire cabin is yours to enjoy privately. Each cabin has a private entrance and patio (as shown in photos). We have an easy self check-in process with the electronic keypad. The yard and fire pit areas by the river are shared, however there is plenty of space for all guests to enjoy the property as they wish.

Interested in booking two, three or all four cabins concurrently? Please message us to inquire about availability for multiple cabin rentals. Each cabin can comfortably accommodate up to 4 guests. Bring some friends and book two cabins, (up to 8 guests) or bring the whole family and enjoy the entire lot to yourselves (up to 16 guests)!

Our property is off of Page Valley Road which parallels the Shenandoah River. The road turns to gravel for the last 3 miles. Smaller cars are fine during normal weather conditions, however during snow or ice we recommend 4x4 vehicles.

There is plenty of parking available at the top of the property, perfectly positioned so as not to block any views of the woods or river. 2 cars max per cabin. If you plan to bring a trailer, please inquire before booking to make sure we have enough space for it. Please, no riding ATVs or dirt bikes on our property. Also no guns or weapons are allowed.

You can expect to see plenty of wildlife around the property. Please respect the wildlife and do not feed wild animals. Bugs are unfortunately a part of wilderness so be sure to bring plenty of spray, keep the doors and windows shut, and limit light usage at night to keep the bugs out!

Luray is less than 10 miles away and Front Royal is also nearby, so restaurants, quaint shopping and wineries are all nearby. This is a must see experience!

LIVING ROOM. The main level living area has a small vaulted great room with floor-to-ceiling windows that fill the space with natural light and offer stunning mountain views. There is a plush comfortable sectional, electric fireplace and a Smart TV. The living room opens to the deck.

DINING. In main level great room area with formal dining table that seats 6. Two additional seats at kitchen island.

KITCHEN. Appliances include refrigerator, electric stove, microwave and dishwasher, keurig coffee maker, rice-maker.

READING NOOK. A lower-level reading nook is a cozy space for reading, quiet conversation, yoga or meditation.

**SLEEPING ACCOMMODATIONS**
Perfect for 4 people with 2 queen bedrooms, however, can accommodate up to 6 with the queen bed in the loft.

**OUTDOOR SPACES**
DECK. The outdoor deck extends the main living space. It includes bar height table seating to enjoy a beautiful sunset cocktail hour, a comfortable sofa sectional and a gas grill.

HOT TUB & FIRE PIT. The hot tub is on the lower-level covered patio which leads out to the backyard and firepit.

Other things to note
4WD/AWD VEHICLE RECOMMENDED/REQUIRED. The cabin is on the mountain, about a half mile up a gravel/dirt road, which is steep and bumpy in certain areas. 4WD/AWD is the safest option both for clearance, and in case of any inclement weather. Many guests consider traveling up the mountain part of the adventure but be sure you are comfortable with this before you book.

TRAVEL INSURANCE RECOMMENDED. Please book Airbnb travel insurance to cover inclement weather cancellations.

NEIGHBORS. There is a cabin on the lot next door that is visible through the trees.

LOFT SPACE BED. This space can get warm in summer and since open to main living area below, can be noisy if others stay up late.

We have two large grassy riverfront acreage with 100' of river frontage that is perfect for a bbq and outdoor games during the day and there are multiple fire pits for you to roast s'mores once the sun sets. You can inner tube or kayak the river on your own or book a tour with Shenandoah River Outfitters right up the road. If you like fishing you will love our South Fork location, which is on a wide, shallow bend perfect for fly fishing. The National Forest is just a stone's throw away with endless hiking possibilities. You’ll be sure to have a delightful time immersed by nature and enjoying all the excitement the river and Luray have to offer!

Wildflower Cabin will be your exclusive 600 square foot cabin with a sizable 200 square foot patio. There are majestic views of the river and grounds. Inside, the cabin has been splendidly renovated in a modern style. There is a kitchen with a full-sized range, stainless steel refrigerator, microwave, toaster and a Keurig coffee maker. Next to is is the living area, where you can relax in the cushy sofa (this converts to a queen bed), and a toasty electric fireplace to curl up around with hot chocolate on cooler nights. We provide a DVD player with a wide selection of DVD’s for the large flat-screen TV. There are also many games, puzzles and books for you to enjoy during your unplugged break. In the zen-like bathroom, you will find a shower/tub combo plus vanity and ladder-style shelf with plenty of storage space for all your traveling toiletries. You will have no trouble sleeping like a bear cub on our king bed with a cloud-like memory foam mattress topped with fresh, quality linens and comfortable pillows.

Start your morning with a hot cup of coffee lounging on the comfortable patio furniture listening to the birds begin their day, or perhaps catch a glimpse of a doe or wild turkey eating breakfast by the river. On a summer afternoon, you’ll be sure to see some kayaks, canoes and tubes float by on the water, or better yet, you’ll be out there yourself! Book a river excursion with Shenandoah River Outfitters just 3 miles up the road or bring your own toys and discover the river yourself! There is a large space under the patio perfect for storing your water toys.

After a full day of exploring and adventure you will be hungry! Enjoy your private charcoal grill and get those hot dogs and burgers sizzling! And save room for dessert – the fire pits will make the perfect gooey s’more! There are grill tools in the kitchen and campfire skewers hanging right outside your cabin. There are also plenty of complementary firewood on the property for you to use. Cabins #1 (Wildflower) and #4 (Honeysuckle) have private campfire pits right outside of the cabins, and all guests can enjoy the two large fire pits on the lower portion of the property.

Once evening comes, unwind in the fresh air and watch the tranquil sunset while nature sings you a goodnight song. On a clear night, there is endless stargazing, as far as the eye can see. There is nothing better than watching the night stars settle over the surrounding mountains.

We encourage guests to unplug so they can enjoy our peaceful natural habitat. However we understand the importance of being connected in today's world. Satellite WiFi is available in the cabin which will allow light internet usage such as checking emails and web browsing. Streaming and downloading will not supported, so please do not try as it will jam up the bandwidth for everyone else. The TV is set up for DVD player use only. Enjoy a movie from our provided selection or bring your family's favorites. Feel free to bring your gaming console as long as it does not require an internet connection (Mario-Cart, anyone?!).

The cabin is stocked with a beginning amount of K-cups, toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, and hand & dish soap. Fresh towels, pillows, and king sheets for the master bed, and queen sheets for the sofa bed are provided. The kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans, dishes and utensils. We do recommend stopping by a grocery store (Walmart & Food Lion are about 25 mins away in the town of Luray) to stock up on your favorite groceries and any extra items you may want before you arrive. There is not a laundry on-site so be sure to pack accordingly.

Dogs are welcome on this property, however, please keep them on a leash while outside and don’t forget to clean up after them. There are 2 dogs maximum per cabin. The fee is $40/dog per stay.

After you book, you will receive comprehensive arrival materials, including information about what to pack, as well as a detailed outline of all the local adventures, experiences and restaurants. The entire cabin is yours to enjoy privately. Each cabin has a private entrance and patio (as shown in photos). We have an easy self check-in process with the electronic keypad. The yard and fire pit areas by the river are shared, however there is plenty of space for all guests to enjoy the property as they wish.

Other things to note
Interested in booking two, three or all four cabins concurrently? Please message us to inquire about availability for multiple cabin rentals. Each cabin can comfortably accommodate up to 4 guests. Bring some friends and book two cabins, (up to 8 guests) or bring the whole family and enjoy the entire lot to yourselves (up to 16 guests)!

Our property is off of Page Valley Road which parallels the Shenandoah River. The road turns to gravel for the last 3 miles. Smaller cars are fine during normal weather conditions, however during snow or ice we recommend 4x4 vehicles.

There is plenty of parking available at the top of the property, perfectly positioned so as not to block any views of the woods or river. 2 cars max per cabin. If you plan to bring a trailer, please inquire before booking to make sure we have enough space for it. Please, no riding ATVs or dirt bikes on our property. Also no guns or weapons are allowed.

You can expect to see plenty of wildlife around the property. Please respect the wildlife and do not feed wild animals. Bugs are unfortunately a part of wilderness so be sure to bring plenty of spray, keep the doors and windows shut, and limit light usage at night to keep the bugs out!

-ACCESS
Mountain Moonshine is located on a mountain/gravel road. That said, AWD/4WD is highly recommended for traveling to the cabin. Some higher clearance vehicles can drive up as well but, again, if you have AWD/4WD that would be the better option especially for extreme weather conditions such as excessive rain, snow or ice.
-SHEETS/TOWELS
Neither sheets nor towels are provided but there are plenty of blankets, comforters & pillows at the cabin. If you prefer, I can provide sheets & towels for an additional linen rental fee.
-PETS
Pets are welcome with prior approval & a $60 fee (per pet). Please review & abide by the policies regarding pets under the House Rules.

**PHONE**
AT&T gets an LTE connection here. Guests have reported that Sprint and T-Mobile also get a good connection. Verizon does not get a good connection here. We have a house phone in the living room.

**OTHER**
Sheets, bath towels and large beach towels for the hot tub are provided.

The property uses both a well and a septic system. We enjoy drinking fresh water out of the well and we have a state of the art well filtration system. However, those that are particular about their water may want to bring their own water.

The Shenandoah area has over 50 species of mammals that also call the Shenandoah Valley Home. We have bears, raccoons, deer, rabbits and a variety of birds. Please do not leave food outside or in your car to decrease the chance of extra visitors. We have a Bearicuda (animal proof) trash can outside for trash storage.
