There are no hidden fees in our price, everything included. There are no fees for linens, firewood, cleaning, or charges for extra people. We supply all paper products, and the kitchen is stocked for your gourmet cooking. We try to supply all the staples and spices that you may need in preparing meals.

Smile Inn sits on 3 acres, bordered by woods and fields on 3 sides, and boasts 400 feet or river frontage in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley. The cabin sits near the end of a gravel road in an area we call cabin alley. The nice thing about the location is it is beyond traffic, noise (except for geese), and dust of vehicles travelling on the road. The road you travel is a country road through forest and along the river, 5.8 miles on the gravel road, and is about 17.5 miles from downtown Luray. It takes 30 minutes to travel to town so get your food before you travel to the cabin, but you are in easy reach of enjoying everything Luray (dining and movies) and the Shenandoah Valley has to offer....or just remain at the cabin and relax in the hammock near the river.

The cabin sleeps 6 comfortably, with 2 bedrooms and a loft. The downstairs bedroom has a queen bed, upstairs bedrooms has 2 double beds and a half bath, and the loft outside the upstairs bedroom has a futon. The downstairs bathroom is divided into 2 separate rooms next to each other, one includes the toilet and vanity, the other a walk in shower and whirlpool bath. (user friendly) The kitchen has updated appliances and includes a microwave, toaster, blender, and combo coffeemaker. The dining area seats 6, and leads out to the screened in porch with another table to dine. There is an open deck beside the screened in porch that also has a table and a gas grill. The living room has a sofa with 2 reclining sides, a separate recliner situated around the gas fireplace. The front porch has a swing and other seating.

Down by the river we have a fire pit and firewood, a picnic table and a hammock. There is a set of stairs down the hill to make access to the lower field easier. There is a canoe and other flotation devices that you may use, but they are use at your own risk.

All the amenities of home are provided including cable TV, WiFi, a DVD player, and phone service.

The area below the cabin that borders the river is perfect if you are planning a small event or family gathering. There is plenty of room to set up tents if you or your kids want to have the full camping experience beside the river. There is an access road that runs along the bottom of the hill below the cabin. To get on that road, travel beyond the cabin 1/4 mile and turn right at the gate, stay on the right hand road until you reach the bottom field. You can use this to bring supplies to the bottom field if you wish.

Again, the drive to town is about 30 minutes on a country road, so make sure you stock up on groceries before you travel to the cabin.

The historic town of Luray, Luray Caverns, Lake Arrowhead, and Jellystone Park are located about the same 30 minute drive. Shenandoah National Park and Skyline Drive are about a 45 minute drive, Wisteria Vineyard and New Market Battlefield will take about an hour of travel. The cabin is located at the base of Massanutten Mountain and borders the George Washington National Forest. There are many hiking trails nearby including the Habron Gap, and Indian Grave Ridge trail. There are multiple trails located along the Massanutten and the Shenandoah National Park.

We do have a VHS/DVD player and mini library of offerings for it.

Go into the dining area, with seating for 4. Hand hewn logs are on the dining ceiling , with lighting and ceiling fan. The wrought iron spiral staircase leads to the loft area.

Eaglet cabin is a newly-built vacation rental cabin. It's near our Eagle's Nest, Tree Top and Oak Tree cabins and, like them, is near the river, sitting up high above the river with an area to walk down to the river's edge. It's part of an 18 acre "fish trap" location that was used by ancient American Indians hundreds of years ago.



Eaglet is a cozy cabin with a modern beautiful exterior and interior. Hardwood floors, stainless appliances, flat-screen TVs - everything is new, luxurious and waiting for your personal enjoyment. In terms of size, Eaglet is meant for single families or two couples for a max of 4 guests. There is one bedroom and 2 twin size air mattresses, with one bathroom and a laundry room.

Welcome to Lake Chateau in Luray near the Shenandoah National Park

Our cabin is located in Luray -- less than a 30-minute drive from the Shenandoah National Park's Thornton Gap entrance. You can escape the city's hustle and bustle and enjoy the lake view from the double decks (NO lake access). Four lounges on our upper deck that are perfect for sunbathing or stargazing, and a dining set with an umbrella to accommodate your outdoor lunch/dinner with a view. On the lower deck, we have a hot tub for your soaking, and a lounge area to kick back or play cornhole. We also have a fire pit with 4 Adirondack chairs, a park-style grill, and a picnic table in the front yard for you to enjoy (please bring your own firewood and charcoals). If you see a medium-sized dog with black and white fur, she is Aggie--a super friendly dog my next-door neighbor owns. She wants to say hi to everyone she sees. No need to be alarmed because she is harmless. If you do not feel like interacting, just ignore her.

Inside the house, we have two bedrooms—one with a king-size bed, and the other with two twin-size beds. These two bedrooms accommodate 4 adults very comfortably. We have a full bathroom with a tub. We have a full-sized kitchen with a dining area. In the living room, you may stream your favorite shows or movies on the smart Roku TV (with your own subscription log-in) while enjoying the warmth from the fireplace with a remote click. The house has a central air system, a stacked washer and dryer, a microwave, a range oven, a dishwasher, and a refrigerator. We offer a Keurig coffee maker with both dripping and K-cup choices as well as a French press.

In the basement, we have a game room with a shuffleboard, a foosball, a cocktail arcade game console with 412 games, Tic-Tac-Toe, and a cornhole in a bag. We also have chess, monopoly, Jenga, and Uno on the middle shelf of the coffee table in the living room (main floor). You will never be bored staying in our cabin even if your outdoor activities get spoiled by adverse weather conditions.

ROAD CONDITIONS—We are located on a dirt/gravel road 600 feet from the paved road. AWD/4WD and high-clearance vehicles are strongly recommended (it is required during and after a snowfall to ensure your safety). There are some bumpy sections in the first 200 feet, please drive very slowly (under 5 mph) to avoid damaging your vehicles.

WATER—We are on a community well system. Although we already installed a water softener and a water filtration system, the water may still smell occasionally. We also installed a reverse osmosis filtration system under the kitchen sink to provide water safe for drinking.

INTERNET—We use Starlink satellites for our Internet connections. Although it is reasonably fast, the speeds cannot compare to cable or fiber broadband speeds. Please be patient if you experience slow-down or buffering.

HOT TUB—Clear water is a scarce commodity in this area. We need to truck in clear water because the well water has discoloration issues. To reduce excessive use of chemicals, please make sure you shower before entering the tub. Keep the hot tub covered and running while not in use. You may adjust the temperature (control panel at the end of the cover lift). When you enter the hot tub, please flip half of the cover (from the deck center towards the back door) and rock the cover lift backward towards the back door. After your use, please lower the lift, and cover the tub with the lid so leaves and debris won’t get into the tub. An additional $150 will be charged for full drainage and refill of the spring water if food or drink is present in the tub. When you check out, please set it no lower than 95 degrees. The water may reflect some yellow/green hues because of the iron in the water as well as pollens getting in from the air. But please rest assured that we service and balance the water during each turn. If we drain and refill the water in the hot tub on the day you check in, you may have to wait until the next morning to enjoy it because the water may not reach the desired temperature on the same day.

FIRE PIT & GRILL--We have a fire pit and a park-style grill in the front year. Please bring your own charcoal and firewood if you plan on using the grill and the fire pit. For fire safety, please do NOT leave any open fire unattended. After each use, please extinguish the fire using the water hose in front of the house and clean up after your use. During the wintertime, please DETACH the water hose from the spigot after use to prevent freeze damage.

PET POLICY—Only dogs are considered. No other animals are allowed without the host's prior approval. Up to two dogs (under 50 pounds) that are vaccinated and ticks & flea-free are allowed and are subject to a pet fee of $79. Dogs are not allowed on any furniture or in the hot tub. Do not leave your dogs alone on the property. Please let us know if your dogs are traveling with you in advance. To prevent incidents, we will prepare a sofa cover for you to use. We may charge for any extra cleaning, pest control, and/or damages caused by your dogs. Any unauthorized pet(s) found in or about the Rental Property will be grounds for expedited eviction and forfeiture of all monies paid. Guests are responsible for any cleaning charges, pest control costs, and damages caused by their unauthorized pets.

TROUT LAKE—We are right next to a private Trout Lake owned by our next-door neighbor. Because the lake is privately owned, unfortunately, our guests cannot access the lake. The lake view, however, is priceless in our humble opinion!

PARKING—We have a designated parking lot that can fit two cars back-to-back (first car pulls up close to the lower end).

GARBAGES—Please keep all your trash inside. Do not leave any food outside that may attract the wildlife. You might spot some animal activities (including black bears) in this area. For any excess trash you need to dispose of before checking out, please bring it to the dumpster at the back of Shenandoah River Outfitters.

VIDEO SURVEILLANCE--There are three exterior cameras (two flood light cameras at the front side of the cabin and one doorbell camera at the front door) monitoring and recording all exterior entries, exits, and movements at the front side of the property for security purposes. They are on 24/7, but only record video and audio when there are movements (motion detected and activated around the clock-24/7). Videos may be stored for 1-365 days for security or house-rule breach review. There is no other surveillance inside or at the back side of the cabin.

SMOKE-FREE PROPERTY--Guests are prohibited from smoking cigarettes, e-cigarettes, marijuana, or using any illicit drugs at the premises (including both inside the cabin and on the ground). Any violation will result in a $1,000 fine and immediate termination of your stay with no refund.

NO PARTY RULE--We do not allow guests to use the cabin for any type of party. Quiet time is between 9 PM and 9 AM. Noise complaints reported by neighbors are the grounds for immediate termination of your stay with no refund.

CLEANING FEE--The cleaning fee only includes the basic cleaning of the house. Please make every effort to leave the house as you found it (plus normal wear and tear). We will charge you an additional cleaning fee ($50/hr) for any of the following:
• Grill cleaning
• Stained towels, bedsheets, bed and duvet covers, walls, furniture, or other items
• Garbage pickup (garbage that is outside the trash can or trash bag)
• Liquid or food spills
• Used pots, pans, kitchenware, utensils, and kitchen supplies not loaded in the dishwasher
• Any additional cleaning or treatment that delays the normal turnover of the house

You will be staying in our Bass Reeves cabin, as shown in the listing pictures, which is our coziest cabin. This historic, pioneer style cabin features hand hewn logs dating back to the eighteen-hundreds and one-of-a-kind paintings by the original owner. The cabin was lovingly relocated from West Virginia and nestled on 16 acres in an idyllic setting along the bank of the Shenandoah River. Enjoy morning coffee on the large front porch while you watch the beauty of the mountains and river unfold. Spend the day canoeing, kayaking, tubing, or fishing and the evening catching fireflies, roasting marshmallows over a campfire, grilling, playing board games, or sipping spirits by the river. FIRM NO PETS POLICY (non-negotiable due to liability reasons; please do not ask for an exception). Animal lovers welcome, however! We do have pets on the property...dogs, cats, chickens, and a variety of forest creatures.

On site is a mile long trail that loops around the property. You have access to plenty of water equipment: tubes, kayaks, paddleboards, and canoes...enough water equipment for all guests to enjoy. We have plenty of adult life vests as well and four youth vests. You can access the river directly from our pier. There is a firepit next to the cabin and one down by the pier next to the river.

The cabin is minutes from the Shenandoah National Park and George Washington National Forest hiking trails. About a ten minute drive away are shops perfect for antiquing, the Luray Caverns, an adorable movie theater, restaurants, zip lining adventure, animal rescue zoo, distillery, golf course, brewery, vineyard, and the Luray Caverns. We are also within an easy and scenic drive to area wineries and Massanutten and Bryce ski resorts. See our Guidebook for more places to visit!

While we hope you spend most of your time outdoors, we do have a TV, DVDs, Roku, and board games. Lots of toys/games for children; perfect detox for them to unplug! Remote workers (and kids) will love our Starlink internet.

We live on the property in the barnhouse. We are available via app messaging, which is the best way to reach us. You might see us around the property during your stay. We love interacting with guests but also respect your privacy.

We are on 16 acres and surrounded by farmland and the Shenandoah River, nestled neatly between the Blue Ridge and Massanutten mountains. There are three cabins on site but plenty of privacy and room to roam and explore. Each cabin has their own fire pit and grill.

Welcome to your home away from home! Newly built with modern conveniences inside, this cabin has everything you are looking for to help you relax and enjoy your getaway. Just a short walk from river access, the serenity of the outdoors is yours to enjoy. The chef of the group will love cooking dinner in the spacious, fully equipped kitchen. Enough room on the comfy couches for your whole group to curl up and watch movies on the living room TV. If someone in the group wants to watch something else, no worries! There are TVs in each of the two bedrooms as well. A King-size master suite with an attached bathroom and a Queen-size bed in the 2nd bedroom with a hallway bathroom ensures that your group will have the space to spread out. Sit around the firepit and roast marshmallows while watching the stars!

-There is an additional bedroom in the house, but it is kept locked currently- please respect the space and don't try to enter locked spaces.

This house was built in 2008 and the living areas were remodeled in 2021.

GUEST ACCESS:
This unique setting up in the mountains is accessed by a gravel State Road and steep 1/4 mile long gravel driveway which requires a sufficient Front-Wheel Drive Vehicle (i.e. Honda CRV, Ford Explorer, Toyota Highlander, Volvo XC 60). FWD sedans generally do NOT make it up the driveway. Most FWD drive minivans do not make it all the way up the driveway due to the weight distribution. A Rear Wheel Drive Vehicle will not make it up the driveway. AWD vehicles have no issues accessing the property and are preferable to ensure complete mobility.

T-Mobile users tend to have the best results for cellular calls.

The Bear Cabin is a private studio cabin offering accommodations for four with a private kitchen and full bathroom.

The sleeping accommodations include a full size futon and twin bunk beds. Comforters and blankets are included.

Guests supply their own linens, pillows, and towels.
Linen packages are available for rent for $10 per bed which include sheets, a pillow, and a towel. Full/Queen linen packages include two pillows and towels.

Pets are welcome with a non-refundable pet fee: $50 for one pet and $25 for a second pet.

Fort Valley Ranch is an 84-acre guest ranch with three private cabins, a campground, horse pastures, a catch-and-release fishing pond, hiking trails, and a community recreation area.

Guests staying in the Bear Cabin enjoy a private studio cabin with a private kitchen and full bathroom.

All guests staying on the ranch are encouraged to enjoy all of the community amenities on the property. Some of the activities, such as horseback riding, axe throwing, and archery, are available for an additional charge.

Newly remodeled cabin nestled in the mountains of the Page Valley in Pine Grove, this cabin is the perfect retreat from the hustle & bustle of a busy life. This cabin is named after my grandmother Brownie, who always wanted a cabin near here.

Work from the cabin with high speed internet! Please note there is absolutely no cell phone reception at the cabin. You will have high-speed Wi-Fi that will allow you to make wi-fi calls.
Also to note, this is a cabin in the woods by the Shenandoah National Park! There are a lot of beautiful scenic views around the cabin, but also visible is a small family cemetery that is not on the property. This is well maintained and should not take away from your visit.

The space
The Moose Cabin is a private two room cabin offering accommodations for four to six with a private kitchen and full bathroom.

The sleeping accommodations include a queen bed, and two sets of twin bunk beds. Comforters and blankets are included.

Guests supply their own linens, pillows, and towels.
Linen packages are available for rent for $10 per bed which include sheets, a pillow, and a towel. Full/Queen linen packages include two pillows and towels.

Pets are welcome with a non-refundable pet fee: $50 for one pet and $25 for a second pet.

Fort Valley Ranch is an 84-acre guest ranch with three private cabins, a campground, horse pastures, a catch-and-release fishing pond, hiking trails, and a community recreation area.

Guests staying in the Moose Cabin enjoy a private two room cabin with a private kitchen and full bathroom.

All guests staying on the ranch are encouraged to enjoy all of the community amenities on the property. Some of the activities, such as horseback riding, axe throwing, and archery, are available for an additional charge.

Horseback riding, camping, axe throwing, archery, and other special activities can be reserved by contacting the ranch office.

The space
This beautiful home has an open first floor with a fully stocked kitchen, spacious dining room, living room, and game room with a convertible table offering several types of games, a half bathroom, and a washer/dryer. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms and a full bathroom. The second bedroom has a convertible bed so you can choose from a king bed, 2 twin beds (with trundle), or daybed setup. Comfy furniture and environmentally conscious touches such as eco friendly foam mattresses and bedding, and energy efficient light fixtures.

The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking and baking utensils/dishes, coffee for the Keurig (with reusable pods), drip coffee pot, or french press, and basic spices. Wifi is available inside the house and in the yard, and we have a TV with several streaming services available. Otherwise, depending on your wireless carrier, cell phone signal can be very limited on the property allowing you to unplug and enjoy nature!

Right outside the cabin, guests can enjoy the outdoor dining area, including a built-in firepit with cooking grates, Adirondak chairs, table and chairs, and lights. There are two decks on the front side of the house with scenic woodland views and lots of options for comfortable seating arrangements. In the yard there is an acre or so of woods, space for relaxing in hammocks, and for kids to play on, a "ninja warrior" obstacle course! We also allow dogs and can provide amenities like crates, feeding bowls, and dog beds to make packing easier for you.

There is plenty of parking available and self check-in/out with an electronic door lock.

Guests have access to the entire cabin and property with the exception of one bedroom closet (host supplies) and the basement (utilities).

Inside this air-conditioned, tiny home we have a queen-size bed and a queen-size futon for additional guests.

A small foldable dining table and chairs are inside if needed. We have a fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, filtered water, and Keurig coffee maker with complimentary coffee.

There is a half bath with a state-of-the-art composting toilet. Easy to use and a marvel for off-grid environmentally safe solutions.

This is a 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom rustic cabin with a basement. The basement has a washer and dryer for your laundry convenience. The master bedroom has a queen sized mattress with closet. The living room has a pullout couch which is a comfortable queen sized foam mattress and boasts a 50" flat screen TV with over 250 DVD's/Blu-ray and Wi-Fi internet. The Roku offers free TV programming. There is also a phone landline. Outside you will find a deck with seating and grill. There is also a firepit with firewood for your usage.

Beautiful cabin in the mountains. 1 mile from White Oak Canyon and two miles away from the back side of Old Rag. Robinson river flows through the back yard and we have made a nice pathway through the woods in our back yard. Enjoy sitting and listening to the river at the fire pit or on one of the 5 porches (one is a 3 season room). Full kitchen with a propane grill and plenty of places to sit and relax.

Important notes: Wifi is spotty at best and there is no cell service. You can not stream videos and music is just so-so. Do not try and hook up the TV to wifi-it doesn't work. Once you burn through the data on wifi for the month it is gone. We do rent out the cabin directly next door and it may or may not be occupied. We do provide sheets and towels and plenty of pillows and comforters are there. Grill is propane which we provide and there is also a smoker but you will need to provide everything you need there. We generally have firewood but people tend to burn through if quickly and sometimes we don't have time to reload so plan accordingly for the fire pit.
We have now installed 3 window AC units. It tends to do the job on super hot days/nights.
