- "Originally went for two days with a friend intending to explore the Valley. Finding the lodge was easy even at night and the directions provided were on point. Due to a check-in date mix up the owner offered an extra night to us at no extra cost. The conversation with the owner was very friendly and I really appreciate the friendliness. What made the stay (including the extra day) worth it was the coziness of the lodge, the amenities (centralized cooling a big plus), the closeness to the valley, caverns and outdoor activities. We went kayak (which was not originally in the plans) only because we saw the place while driving to the lodge. Found some really good eating spots just a few mins drive which in my opinion is a big plus."

The Drive
The one mile dirt road to get to our cabin is not state owned. It’s not steep, but it is full of potholes. Slow and steady will get you to the cabin. You do not need a truck or 4 wheel drive. HOWEVER- months where snow is in the forecast will require 4 wheel drive, as we do not know when or if someone will be able to plow. Parking is unlimited.

For the security of our guests and the safety of our home, Bluebird Hill Cabin is equipped with three security cameras. Most importantly, no cameras are placed inside the house, underscoring our strong commitment to prioritizing both your safety and privacy.

DRIVE. Lots of places to stop and picnic.
• Stargaze- The night sky comes alive at our cabin in the woods.
• Sit and Stare- The Mountain View is ever changing with the
weather and seasons. It is always a good time to sit and stare. We
do not have water access, but we have a great view of the
Shenandoah River in late fall and winter. You can hear the water
flowing from the cabin.
• Fire pit with wood provided- Nothing like a good Kumbaya at the
end of a perfect day.
• Wine- Lots of wineries within 30-40 minutes of the cabin.
• Beer- Some breweries are in the area and more are popping up
yearly.
• Hike / Bike- Skyline drive, Shenandoah State Park and Andy Guest
State Park are short drives away.
• Dinosaurs- Dinosaur Land. A silly destination for the young dino
fan.

• Bird watching- When the bears are napping, we will leave you
some bird seed. Lots of marked bird watching trails are close by.

vacation, your choice.

Whiskey Hill Cabin is based on a classic design from the 1960’s which makes it a unique place to enjoy your vacation! The cabin is a fully renovated chalet style cabin with many modern updates. Some of the updates include a new fireplace wood stove for guest use, pine and cedar ceilings, a new bathroom and honed granite countertops. All of these updates to this classic cabin help make your vacation more relaxing and enjoyable.

There are 2 bedrooms and a large loft bedroom (queen beds in each).
The cabin has a large deck that is perfect for enjoying the nature of the mountain. Since the cabin was designed in the 1960’s the interior steps were not designed with today’s standards, but we love the classic design so we decided to keep it original. We ask that you please keep in mind that the interior loft stairs are not suitable for children. We appreciate your understanding.

The cabin is in Virginia wine country. It is close to 10+ Virginia wineries including Fox Meadow Winery (3.4 mi) and Crimson Lane Vineyards (7.9 mi), Skyline drive and the Appalachian Trail (GR Thompson State Wildlife Management area is about 5 minutes away; famous for trillium flowers). Enjoy the areas many activities including: hiking, canoeing, horse back riding, wine tasting and the natural surroundings.

The cabin is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains and is set on a private wooded mountain lot with winter views of the Shenandoah Valley and mountain ranges. During your stay you will enjoy the peaceful quiet of the mountains, local wildlife, amazing sunsets and bright starry nights. Near Front Royal, VA it is an easy 1 hour drive to and from the DC metro area.

- "A little buggy in the area and house, but that’s nature, right?! Besides that, beautiful place, can’t wait to come back!" - "The house was absolutely stunning - very clean, well decorated, comfortable and cozy, with every amenity you can imagine. The views from the porch were so beautiful and we loved watching the sunset. Service was patchy near the house (in the house the wifi was perfect) so I recommend loading up the map to make sure you know where you’re going towards the end. Host was very responsive and accommodating. We tubed the river and went to Bear Chase Brewing and loved both activities! Went into Front Royal for groceries vs the close small shop (recommend this if you need full cooking groceries) but it was an easy drive and good store. We’d come back for sure!"

The cabin and its location are clearly more suited for people who are taking advantage of the outdoor activities in the vicinity rather than wine tasting, which was the downside for me--there was coffee and a coffee maker in the cabin, but no coffee (e.g., powdered) creamer, and there really weren't places nearby to buy some, much less get breakfast nor just a cup of coffee to-go. There was plenty of soap, shampoo, bubble bath, towels, etc. Bed was great. Location was quiet and peaceful. I had no issues with my GPS working, but apparently some people do have problems so Sandra makes EXTRA sure you have clear directions prior to arrival. The inside of the cabin is nicer IRL than it appears in the photos."

- "A little different with the main bedroom upstairs, the only bathroom on the lower level. But, overall. Excellent!" - "This was an older but well kept A frame cabin that was perfect for a little weekend getaway for my family of 5. The kitchen was adequately stocked for our needs, the location/ view/ deck was gorgeous, and the beds were firm but comfy. We stayed during an extremely cold weekend (single digits at night). The heating unit upstairs still kept that space very well heated, the wood stove struggled a bit to keep the main space warm (especially since we could only have that going while we were in the house, I would add that the fire is a necessity not a luxury during the colder days of winter), but the back two bedrooms were more difficult to heat. I had my kids in thermals and grabbed their sleeping bags just in case so they were fine, but it definitely gave them a little more of a camping vibe than we were expecting. Unfortunately we realized late in the afternoon that the hot tub wasn't heating, and while the response from the owner was prompt and helpful once we noticed the problem, we weren't able to use that fun amenity. We built a fire in the fire ring and made s'mores as the sun set instead- the outdoor space has a lot to offer. Overall it was just what we needed to help change up the monotony of a cold January and we had a great time!"

We were pleasantly surprised at the size of the kitchen, and we even cooked dinner together during one night of our stay. The house was a 10-15 min drive from all of the hiking trails, restaurants, and wineries we visited. The hot tub was super fun, but was a bit small for four average-to-small sized people. Overall, we would definitely stay here again next time we visit Shenandoah!"

- "I know this is a long review and this is the first time I have reviewed a rental but I was so impressed. Peaceful, surprisingly roomy, loved there are so many areas to relax in small groups. We like to gather together and there is room for that ,but sometimes it is so nice to split in groups. You could sit in the beautiful screen porch, living room, loft, awesome downstairs with plenty of seating, beautiful lighted fireplace was a hit, giant tv, for the younger set to game or watch movies, then the hot tub with a nice view. My grandaughter is in culinary school and I am quite the chef. We loved the glass trays we used for charcuterie and nice dinnerware set for meals. If I knew there was a vitamix there I would have done some planning and used it.. A vehicle is required for getting around the neighborhood and surrounding area attractions, restaurants, and other designations. Please note that while the property can be accessed via entirely paved roads, 4WD or AWD may be recommended or required during wintery weather.

Note that emotional support animals (ESAs) are designated as pets and subject to these fees and other pet policies. The property can be accessed via entirely paved roads; however the driveway has a decent incline and is gravel. Most of the year, 2WD vehicles can access the property without issue. However, during snow or icy conditions, 4WD or AWD may be recommended or required. We will notify you in advance if winter or severe weather is expected, offering guidance on safe access. Full refunds are typically only provided if the property is inaccessible for more than 24 hours by 4WD or AWD vehicles.

GUEST SAFETY & WELLNESS
Your safety and well-being are our top priority. All bedding, including sheets, quilts, and blankets, is washed between reservations. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are installed in all bedrooms, and fire extinguishers are available throughout the property.

The area is surrounded by wildlife - you will regularly see deer and may even sneak a peak at a black bear hanging out on the mountain. While the house rarely houses critters of its own, the occasional bug or tiny creature may make a visit! Just let us know if anything is out of the ordinary.

We set up our property around gathering spaces to allow you to enjoy time with friends or find a place for some deserved seclusion. When you arrive in at the cabin, you`ll immediately enter into the cozy living room with a 65` TV and gas fireplace, from there you will head on through to the kitchen set up with all the basics plus much more for baking, cooking, and entertaining. The dining area is the perfect spot to enjoy your culinary creations.

On this main level, you`ll find the primary suite with a king-sized bed and an en-suite bathroom with a luxurious shower. Upstairs, you`ll find our blue (primary), and red bedrooms, with the green bedroom downstairs; each set up with a king bed. There are three desk/chairs for when, despite your best wishes, the office calls.

All bedrooms include their own Roku TVs with the ability to log into your own apps Hulu+Live TV, Netflix, HBO Max, ESPN+, Disney+, and Prime Video. Worried about leaving your account logged in? We have the guest mode enabled through Roku, simply select your check out date when prompted and you will automatically be logged out of all applications.

Venture downstairs to the left you will find our game room to keep the kids entertained for hours, including a Air Hockey Table, Foosball Table and Poker Table, along with board games, playing cards, and poker chips. To the right, you will find our immersive Cozy Bear Cabin Movie Theater equipped with an 85` Roku TV and Surround Sound. During the colder months, this space has the option to use the propane fireplace, perfect for enjoying a happy-hour glass of wine or catching up with friends.

As you enter the Kitchen off to the left you will find an outdoor dinning area with seating for eight and a propane grill, for the summer and fall cookouts. Entering through the Kitchen to the back of the house, you`ll find a path towards our hot tub and outdoor seating area.

Nearby you will find several wineries and options for hiking and river adventures. At the top of our list we recommend Fox Meadow Winery (reservations sometimes required and a 20-minute drive). You`ll enjoy stunning views of the valley and great wine. Chester Gap Cellars also offers fantastic views of the Shenandoah Valley and highly rated options. We also recommend Aspen Dale Winery for a farm-based winery or Naked Mountain Winery for a more modern experience.

Dinner options abound on Main Street in Front Royal, a 15 minute drive away, where we recommend checking out Vibrissa Beer & Kitchen or Main Street Mill. Don`t forget dessert at C&C Treats! If you need something a bit closer, Henry`s Grocery offers grab and go options and is a great place to pickup essentials just 5 minutes away.

The Overlook sits upon 14 acres of pristine wooded land and is less than five minutes from Shenandoah National Park (the property abuts the Park) and the Appalachian Trail! With a park pass, you can walk into the park from the property.

The Overlook is less than 10 minutes' drive time from the Skyline Drive North entrance, Skyline Caverns, a public boat launch on the South Fork Shenandoah River, Skyline Outfitters (where you can rent a canoe or kayak) and downtown Front Royal with its excellent restaurants and a local brewery. Shenandoah River State Park and about a dozen wineries are within 20-30 minutes, one vineyard is only five miles away!

Enjoy spectacular views and abundant wildlife - birds, deer, foxes, even bears from theimpressive porch that overlooks the valley and three mountain ridge lines. Maybe you will be lucky enough to see Bertram the Bear, a black bear from the park who visits us periodically! The Overlook has glorious flowering fruit trees, redbuds, forsythias, and magnolias in the spring; crepe myrtles, azaleas, roses, and vibrant greens in summer; brilliant red, orange,
and yellow foliage in the fall and the quiet brown woods of winter, sometimes covered in crisp,
white snow.

Enjoy the screened-in porch in the back and the new gas grill if you choose to eat meals outside or sit at one of the comfortable seating areas on the front porch, enjoying the propane fire pit table.

High-speed storm-ready Wi-Fi is supplied throughout the house, as is Netflix on the four smart TVs, but you can connect to your own streaming services if you prefer.

The house has been completely remodeled inside and out and can sleep eight. It includes four themed bedrooms: two king and two queen. The king-size rooms have 55” smart TVs. All bedrooms have luxurious leather seating areas to enjoy the view, a book, and a cup of coffee in the morning. The two upstairs full baths feature beautiful river rock tiled walk-in showers with rain-shower heads and hand-held shower wands.

The newly renovated and stocked kitchen has almost everything you could wish for including a
gas stove, dishwasher, an air fryer, and a coffee bar with a Keurig, a drip coffee pot, and a French Press.

The Overlook has a library and private office, which will more than fulfill your needs for a dedicated workspace. A huge desk with ergonomic chair overlooksthe valley and we provide a dual monitor with attached HDMI cable, which you can attach to your computer, a printer, and a shredder. The bookcase is full of varied reading material you can cozy up and read on the buttery, leather sofa.

Enjoy the brand-new wood burning stove in the family room while having a glass of wine or watching a movie on the 65” smart TV.Please NOTE: you must use the appropriate seasoned hardwood. Unlimited hardwood is provided daily for a small fee.

Finally, the Overlook has a media/game room and a workout area in the basement. The workout area has free-weights, a yoga mat, and a SOLE Elliptical. Another full bathroom is conveniently located on this level. The elevated platform in the media/game room allows for ample viewing of the 70” smart TV. There is also a wet bar in the basement, with a mini-fridge, and a bookshelf full of gamesand puzzles, and foosball table that you can play in the game area.

This is a dog-friendly rental, with extra linens we ask you to put on all the leather furniture if you need your four-legged friend on the couch with you (not in bed, please). A non-refundable pet fee is required for your one dog (up to 35 lbs.). Your dog must be house trained with up-to-date flea and tick medication. Important, make sure to go outside with your dog when you let them out as the property is not fenced in, also to watch out for wildlife, particularly Bertram the bear.

There is absolutely no smoking of any kind, including vaping, inside or directly near the house. Smoking is not allowed on either of the porches. An outdoor ashtray is provided at the bottom of the driveway for your use. Please be mindful you are staying in a log house and near almost 200 thousand acres of national park!

The house is on a steep paved hill and driveway on the side of the mountain. Drive slowly because deer may run in front of you! There are ample parking spaces available at The Overlook at the bottom of the driveway, in front of the garage, and in the two-car garage (where there is also a beer refrigerator for your use!). Street parking is absolutely prohibited.

Please note: 4WD or AWD is required to access the property during inclement weather, specifically November to April.

Ellie's Lodge is a beautiful log cabin located at the end of a quiet gravel road on Rolling River Holidays. When entering the cabin, one is invited into the large open living room, dining area and kitchen. A spiral staircase welcomes a large second floor loft with a TV and game table. Sitting on the lovely hillside, Ellie's offers beautiful views of the Blue Ridge Mountains (and in the winter season the Shenandoah River just below). - "Ellie's Lodge was exactly as the pictures portray. Very clean, beautiful view, easy access to grocery stores, restaurants, etc. The beds were comfortable, bedrooms a nice size, and loved having the afghans. They have an outdoor fire pit with nice chairs and a great front porch with rockers to enjoy your morning coffee. The kitchen is stocked with all dishes, glassware, pots and pans you will need. It has a cozy cabin feel with modern amenities. There is a smart TV you can sign into your Netflix, Prime Video, or any other streaming app so you can watch movies...(Just don't forget to sign out!) It has 2 bedrooms with king beds, and a bedroom with 2 queens, 3 full baths and a powder room. I would highly recommend Ellie's Lodge to anyone and give it a 5/5 review. Although it does not have a working fireplace, and we knew that prior to renting it, there were nice candles in it that we lit, so that did lend an air of ambience. The host was very accommodating and responsive. Overall, I would definitely rent this quaint but roomy lodge again!"

Our cozy and adorable A-frame cabin is nestled in Shenandoah Farms with an amazing Blue Mountain valley view. We are eight minutes from the Appalachian Trail, 24 minutes from Front Royal downtown, 25 minutes from Skyline Cavern (highly recommended), seven minutes from the nearest convenient store, 20 minutes away from the famous “Apple House”, and 25 minutes from some of the best wineries in the area.

The upper-level loft has a spectacular view of the valley! What a scene to wake up to in the morning. The woodstove / fireplace in the living room to cozy up to on those cool winter evenings or for backup heat if needed. The spacious porch is the perfect place to watch the beautiful sunset while sipping your favorite drink and bird-watching.

Note: we do not have a television at the cabin, but our high-speed Internet is perfect for streaming (if you have a personal device), Zoom meetings, and browsing.

While you're here be sure to check out all the area has to offer. Take a hike on the Appalachian trail that goes from Georgia to Maine and follows the ridge line of Blue Mountain right through G.R. Thompson State wildlife preserve at the top of the mountain. There are dozens of local wineries within a short drive. Skyline drive national park is just a quick drive to the northern entrance. There's also river swimming and floating just down the mountain at one of the many Shenandoah river access points.

Full-year and seasonal lighting line the runway deck approaching the main door which leads into the cabin's open living, dining area, and kitchen. If crafting that perfect meal for your loved one is in the cards, you'll find full-sized appliances and all the accessories, cookware, and bakeware to make it a reality.

The property has two bedrooms and desk options to take care of the pesky emails that might draw your attention. Reliable high speed internet can keep you connected for video calls or streaming movies. A full-sized bathroom with washer and dryer round out the cabin's interior spaces.

Perhaps what will draw your attention the most is enjoyed behind two large sliding glass doors that overlook the valley. Step through and you'll find comfortable seating and the cabin's hot tub ready for you to relax and recharge among the starts. Note that the hot tub is best enjoyed by 2-3 people, so while we welcome groups of up to 4, the design of our deck best accommodates a smaller hot tub to provide space for seating and maximize the best views.

Property is NOT pet friendly and is unsafe for dogs or cats due to open water, high elevations, property is not secured from wild animals, there is no pet protection in or around home, and there are items that are easily damaged. Further, Host is responsible to ensure that property has been kept pet-free to keep it available and safe for guests with allergies. Discovery of a pet could result in a sizable cleaning fee and potential immediate termination of stay. If you have a pet, service animal, or ESA, please find another property that is suitable and safe for your pet.

All Host properties are treated biweekly for pest and insect control however given these properties are located besides the river, in nature, the occasional bug or spider may be unavoidable and advise guests to adjust their expectations accordingly to their environment. Starlight also provides a full kitchen and washer/dryer. Host does provide campfire wood but guests will need to walk or drive a short distance for pick up if they choose not to bring their own. Fire starter, matches/lighter, and charcoal is not provided, guests are advised to bring their own. (Pro Tip: Shore Stop, a local convenience store just two minutes away, has all your forgotten provisions just in case, including beer, snacks, and wine!)

Firewood is located by the Pride Flag on the street.

During winter weather, guests are provided shovels, salt, and assistance whenever possible for help keeping steps, deck and drive clear :)

Shenandoah Twilight is a cozy cabin nestled in the Shenandoah Valley, near Front Royal, VA. You'll find it an ideal destination by itself or the perfect launching point for nearby winery, hiking, and other outdoor adventures (we'll provide a full guide of recommendations).

The cabin itself features an open concept living room and kitchen with TV, electric fireplace, and comfy seating. The nearby kitchen features full size appliances as well as most small appliances, cook- and bakeware, and other culinary prep needs. The back of the cabin features two bedrooms (one with a king-sized bed and one with a double-sized bed) and full size bathroom with walk-in custom tiled shower. You'll love access to the nearby hot tub just steps from the back door and enjoy spectacular sunset views from the hot tub or front porch.

We love hosting your furry companions and welcome up to two dogs. Please include them in your reservation and a pet fee will automatically be included in your reservation total. Note that emotional support animals (ESAs) are designated as pets and subject to these fees and other pet policies. VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS
The property can be accessed via entirely paved roads; however the driveway has a decent incline and is gravel. Most of the year, 2WD vehicles can access the property without issue. However, during snow or icy conditions, 4WD or AWD may be recommended or required. We will notify you in advance if winter or severe weather is expected, offering guidance on safe access. Full refunds are typically only provided if the property is inaccessible for more than 24 hours by 4WD or AWD vehicles.

Your safety and well-being are our top priority. All bedding, including sheets, quilts, and blankets, is washed between reservations. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are installed in all bedrooms, and fire extinguishers are available throughout the property.

Nature’s Presence: We have regular pest control treatments in an effort to keep the creepy crawlies outside. Please keep in mind this is a cabin in the woods, and despite our best efforts, you may notice insects inside. Depending on the time of the year, the ones we see most often are ladybugs and stink bugs. If you encounter any bugs during your stay, we ask that you dispose of them as you wish.

(Pro Tip: Shore Stop, a local convenience store just two minutes away, has all your forgotten provisions just in case, including beer, snacks, and wine!)

During winter weather, guests are provided shovels, salt, and assistance whenever possible for help keeping steps, deck and drive clear :)

Welcome to the Overlook! Whether you are seeking adventure or relaxation, this luxury log home offers the best of both worlds. Elegance meets nature on this private 14-acre property with 4 smart TVs, new wood burning stove, 4 beautifully appointed bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, a full office, media room, screened-in porch and a gym. Enjoy your morning coffee or a glass of wine from the large front porch, which overlooks the Blueridge Mountains. The golden sunrises and sunsets are simply magical.

The space
The Overlook sits upon 14 acres of pristine wooded land and is less than five minutes from Shenandoah National Park (the property abuts the Park) and the Appalachian Trail! With a park pass, you can walk into the park from the property.

The Overlook is less than 10 minutes' drive time from the Skyline Drive North entrance, Skyline Caverns, a public boat launch on the South Fork Shenandoah River, Skyline Outfitters (where you can rent a canoe or kayak) and downtown Front Royal with its excellent restaurants and a local brewery. Shenandoah River State Park and about a dozen wineries are within 20-30 minutes, one vineyard is only five miles away!

Enjoy spectacular views and abundant wildlife - birds, deer, foxes, even bears from the impressive porch that overlooks the valley and three mountain ridge lines. Maybe you will be lucky enough to see Bertram the Bear, a black bear from the park who visits us periodically! The Overlook has glorious flowering fruit trees, redbuds, forsythias, and magnolias in the spring; crepe myrtles, azaleas, roses, and vibrant greens in summer; brilliant red, orange,
and yellow foliage in the fall and the quiet brown woods of winter, sometimes covered in crisp,
white snow.

Enjoy the screened-in porch in the back and the new gas grill if you choose to eat meals outside or sit at one of the comfortable seating areas on the front porch, enjoying the propane fire pit table.

High-speed storm-ready Wi-Fi is supplied throughout the house, as is Netflix on the four smart TVs, but you can connect to your own streaming services if you prefer.

The house has been completely remodeled inside and out and can sleep eight. It includes four themed bedrooms: two king and two queen. The king-size rooms have 55” smart TVs. All bedrooms have luxurious leather seating areas to enjoy the view, a book, and a cup of coffee in the morning. The two upstairs full baths feature beautiful river rock tiled walk-in showers with rain-shower heads and hand-held shower wands.

The newly renovated and stocked kitchen has almost everything you could wish for including a
gas stove, dishwasher, an air fryer, and a coffee bar with a Keurig, a drip coffee pot, and a French Press. 

The Overlook has a library and private office, which will more than fulfill your needs for a dedicated workspace. A huge desk with ergonomic chair overlooks the valley and we provide a dual monitor with attached HDMI cable, which you can attach to your computer, a printer, and a shredder. The bookcase is full of varied reading material you can cozy up and read on the buttery, leather sofa.

Enjoy the brand-new wood burning stove in the family room while having a glass of wine or watching a movie on the 65” smart TV. Please NOTE:  you must use the appropriate seasoned hardwood. Unlimited hardwood is provided daily for a small fee.
 
Finally, the Overlook has a media/game room and a workout area in the basement. The workout area has free-weights, a yoga mat, and a SOLE Elliptical. Another full bathroom is conveniently located on this level. The elevated platform in the media/game room allows for ample viewing of the 70” smart TV. There is also a wet bar in the basement, with a mini-fridge, and a bookshelf full of games and puzzles, and foosball table that you can play in the game area.

This is a dog-friendly rental, with extra linens we ask you to put on all the leather furniture if you need your four-legged friend on the couch with you (not in bed, please). A non-refundable pet fee is required for your one dog (up to 35 lbs.). Your dog must be house trained with up-to-date flea and tick medication. Important, make sure to go outside with your dog when you let them out as the property is not fenced in, also to watch out for wildlife, particularly Bertram the bear.

There is absolutely no smoking of any kind, including vaping, inside or directly near the house. Smoking is not allowed on either of the porches. An outdoor ashtray is provided at the bottom of the driveway for your use. Please be mindful you are staying in a log house and near almost 200 thousand acres of national park!

The house is on a steep paved hill and driveway on the side of the mountain. Drive slowly because deer may run in front of you! There are ample parking spaces available at The Overlook at the bottom of the driveway, in front of the garage, and in the two-car garage (where there is also a beer refrigerator for your use!). Street parking is absolutely prohibited.

Wildflower Lodge spans 4400 square feet across two floors, with three bedrooms on the main level and one bedroom located downstairs. Welcome to The Nook, a cabin nestled into the ridges surrounding Front Royal. The cozy retreat sleeps four! Enjoy evenings spent watching the sunset through the trees while on the wrap-around deck, or hang in the geodome as night closes in around you! We hope that you take the time to explore the towns, trails, vineyards, orchards, and river around you before meandering back to relax in your nook with a fire, a book, and a vinyl record playing in the background.

The space
A quick ascent up the driveway will take you to The Nook’s welcoming stairway, and one of its main features, the wrap-around deck. Here you’ll find an outdoor eating area and charcoal grill.

-The Kitchen and Dining Area-
Prepare a hearty breakfast before a day out on the trail… or a day in! The kitchen comes equipped with the appliances and utensils you’ll need to recreate family specials. We hope that you feel at home and have included many of the items you will need to turn up the heat, including:

The kitchen flows out to the dining area, a chic, round table perfectly positioned for a shared meal or card game.

-Living Area-
The living area is the heart of this comfy cabin, providing something for everyone with its Roku TV, vinyl record player, and wood stove. The space is particularly welcoming during the changing of the seasons as visitors watch the trees change around them amidst a flurry of green, red, orange, and gold.

-Bathroom-
Just off the living area you’ll find the stackable washer and dryer, and beyond them, the bathroom. The bathroom is designed with function in mind, with a curved shower rod and a shower window that invites natural light into the space while maintaining privacy for occupants. Included, you will find a hairdryer, handheld steamer for clothing, bath towel set, and makeup towels.

-Bedroom I-
The main-floor bedroom comes equipped with a Queen-sized bed, wrapped in crisp, white sheets and a duvet, perfect for cooler evenings. Read by the warm glow of the night stand’s globe before drifting off to sleep.

-Loft (Bedroom II)-
The custom ladder-staircase will take you from the living area to one of our favorite places in the cabin. At the top of the ladder you will find the loft, the area after which The Nook is named. Guests will find a comfortable, full-sized bed sitting on a short platform and lined by illuminated books to the left and the right. The loft’s low ceiling (3ft 8in clearance) makes it the more adventurous area of the cabin, it’s called a nook for a reason! That said, it’s a great place to cuddle up and select a title.

-Outdoor Space-
Enjoy The Nook’s beautiful winter sunset views from the wrap-around deck as the sun sets below the ridgeline to the west. During the summer, and the winter for those feeling adventures, take advantage of the Weber charcoal grill and to complement the meals being crafted in the kitchen.

-The Dome-
One of the newest additions to our property, and one which makes it unique, is our dome. Take in the nature around you, watch the leaves fall and the sunset from your perch on the hill above the cabin as day turns to night and the stars come out!

-Firepit-
Enjoy a nice bright fire as you relax from a day of hiking, or of eating and drinking among the surrounding vineyards. Pro tip. Bring some marshmallows!


-For your safety-
Your safety is important to us, for that reason we’ve installed one security camera at the front of the property (located above the front kitchen door) as well as several interconnected smoke detectors, and a fire extinguisher. If you should need to reach us with any safety concerns, please feel free to contact us through the Airbnb messaging app, and we will respond as quickly as possible.

Guest access
Guests have keyless access to the entire cabin and amenities and will be provided with a unique code for their stay in advance of arrival. Check-in is at 3:00pm and Check-out is at 10:00am.

Part of the path to The Nook (approx. 1/2 mile) is by gravel road. The driveway, while concrete, is on a very steep incline that can be handled by most cars and SUVs in the summer. In the winter, four-wheel drive is highly recommended and, as with many local locations, accessibility is based upon the weather. Winter reservations are exposed to the risk of seasonable weather conditions such as snowstorms, ice storms, and similar precipitation events. During the entire year inclusive of the winter, the third-party booking platform cancellation policies will remain in effect without exception. Therefore, guests book with a known risk of inclement weather.



Also, be aware that because we’re located in the woods, there is a chance that critters can get in from time to time. We regularly have pest control come by, but we ask that you do your best to keep the doors shut to help us keep the animals and insects out.

It’s also super helpful if you and your guests remember to remove your shoes when entering the cabin to protect the floors and keep the house clean and pristine. Thanks in advance. We genuinely appreciate it.

Hot Tub Heaven #4, like our other eight properties, is located on Blue Mountain in Linden, Virginia and is open year round. Surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley it offers (4) Queen-size beds and (2) Twin-size beds in a rollaway daybed and (2) full bathrooms. Please note, this cabin has a spiral staircase to reach the kitchen and bedrooms on the second level, please see pictures. The home has a fully equipped modern kitchen, a big screen tv, free internet and on the deck are a grill for cookouts & a wonderful 6-person hot tub… Plus, dogs are welcome!

The cabin was an abandoned structure for about 20 years, buried deep in the bushes of the mountains. I saw a diamond in rough! After careful planning and designing, I worked to create a serene masterpiece that would be light and inviting.

Upon entry into the kitchen, you're instantly greeted by a modern kitchen lined with beautiful brand new matte black appliances and glossy + oak cabinets. Guests will have full access to the property during their stay, with the exception of the owner's closet and the secondary storage cabin. These areas are reserved for the owner's use and are not accessible during your stay. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in respecting these restrictions.

Fire safety clause: By renting, you agree to be fully liable for any damages or losses resulting from the use of fire pits, wood stoves, or other open flames on the property. This includes, but is not limited to, damage to the rental property itself, liability for any forest fires, and damages to any surrounding properties or natural areas affected.

To enhance your comfort and safety, the cabin is equipped with an modern electric fireplace option in the TV/Movie room.

The main level wood stove is not to be used to burn wood. Candles have been provided to remain in the hearth to create a romantic ambiance for guests. Additionally, a propane firepit is provided for those who would rather not manage the risks and responsibilities of using a wood firepit. Please note that the area has been experiencing frequent county wide burn bans and windy conditions on top of the mountain frequently prohibit the use of the wood firepit during your stay. We encourage you to use the provided electric fireplace or propane firepit as safer alternatives.


Please be advised that due to open staircases, high decks, and the lack of babyproofing, this home is not recommended for children under the age of 10. For the safety and well-being of younger guests, we suggest considering alternative accommodations that are better suited for families with small children.

Please note that this property has a strict no pets policy. To ensure the comfort and safety of all guests, we cannot accommodate any animals, regardless of size or type. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in adhering to this policy.

Please be aware that, due to the cabin's natural setting in the woods, occasional encounters with bugs and wildlife are possible. While we take measures to minimize their presence, it's important to be prepared for the possibility of insects or other wildlife. Please note that we are not responsible for wildlife encounters or any related damages. We appreciate your understanding and encourage you to take the necessary precautions to ensure a comfortable stay. This includes, cleaning up all food sources outside of the cabin on porches, decks, and the yard. Please also take extra precaution to not leave any food sources in your automobiles.
Wearing bug spray while in the woods and outdoors is also recommended. Please utilize the screens on the doors when they are left open. Please close and lock the glass doors to include the basement in the evenings or are not present at the cabin.

The cabin sits in secluded woods, on top of a mountain surrounded by nature. There is a steep gravel 1 mile road that is well maintained. During the summer months, a regular vehicle with proper clearance will do. In the winter (Nov - April) it is advisable to only utilize 4wd or AWD vehicles. Snowy weather could also require chains. Please consider trip insurance to protect your vacation from winter weather events.

Tucked away in a secluded area, Cozy Bear Cabin provides a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Surrounded by lush greenery and the soothing sounds of nature, this cabin is your private sanctuary in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley.

The space
Enjoy a private oasis, with a 6-person hottub, 85" TV, gas fireplaces, 3 bedrooms, and 3 full bathrooms. Nearby attractions include Luray and Skyline Caverns, Skyline Drive, more than a dozen wineries within 10 miles, and plenty of options for hiking, dining, and exploring.

We set up our property around gathering spaces to allow you to enjoy time with friends or find a place for some deserved seclusion. When you arrive in at the cabin, you'll immediately enter into the cozy living room with a 65" TV and gas fireplace, from there you will head on through to the kitchen set up with all the basics plus much more for baking, cooking, and entertaining. The dining area is the perfect spot to enjoy your culinary creations.

On this main level, you'll find the primary suite with a king-sized bed and an en-suite bathroom with a luxurious shower. Upstairs, you'll find our blue (primary), and red bedrooms, with the green bedroom downstairs; each set up with a king bed. There are three desk/chairs for when, despite your best wishes, the office calls.

All bedrooms include their own Roku TVs with the ability to log into your own apps Hulu+Live TV, Netflix, HBO Max, ESPN+, Disney+, and Prime Video. Worried about leaving your account logged in? We have the guest mode enabled through Roku, simply select your check out date when prompted and you will automatically be logged out of all applications.

Venture downstairs to the left you will find our game room to keep the kids entertained for hours, including a Air Hockey Table, Foosball Table and Poker Table, along with board games, playing cards, and poker chips. To the right, you will find our immersive Cozy Bear Cabin Movie Theater equipped with an 85" Roku TV and Surround Sound. During the colder months, this space has the option to use the propane fireplace, perfect for enjoying a happy-hour glass of wine or catching up with friends.

As you enter the Kitchen off to the left you will find an outdoor dinning area with seating for eight and a propane grill, for the summer and fall cookouts. Entering through the Kitchen to the back of the house, you'll find a path towards our hot tub and outdoor seating area.

Nearby you will find several wineries and options for hiking and river adventures. At the top of our list we recommend Fox Meadow Winery (reservations sometimes required and a 20-minute drive). You'll enjoy stunning views of the valley and great wine. Chester Gap Cellars also offers fantastic views of the Shenandoah Valley and highly rated options. We also recommend Aspen Dale Winery for a farm-based winery or Naked Mountain Winery for a more modern experience.
