- "This property was absolutely breath taking .From the scenery to the beautiful cabin. It was so peaceful to just sit and listen to the river all day long and then opening the sliders at night and falling a sleep to the sound. They had everything and more stocked inside the cabin. My only complaint is that we weren’t able to stay longer. Hands down best location Iv ever been to. If you are looking for a peaceful relaxing stay then this place is a must! We have already made plans to return. "

Our large, family-friendly cabin is packed with amenities and fun for groups large and small. This open floor plan features two living areas, a fully stocked kitchen, large screened in porch and wraparound deck, propane grill, fire pit and can accommodate 10 comfortably.
The cabin includes:
- 3 bedrooms + a large basement sleeping area (1 Queen, 2 Doubles and 2 Twins and a bunk bed)
- A huge wrap-around deck with a propane grill and screened in porch
- Fully stocked kitchen
- Private outside hot tub that comfortably seats six
- Kitchen with a dishwasher
- Central heat and AC (it gets hot outside in WV in the summer!)
- Wood fireplace and wood pellet stove to keep you cozy at night
- Enjoy fast, reliable Frontier Fiber — perfect for streaming your favorite shows or staying connected with video calls
- Downstairs ping pong table

Outside you’ll find:
- Relax in the hot tub

Our cabin also has private access to the Cacapon River, just a quick 3 minute drive away. The river is perfect for swimming, boating, and fishing -- and is very clean and clear. We have one kayak and two paddleboards for you to use that we keep stored at the river from spring to fall.
We often take our three little kids and dog to the cabin with us, so we're very family and dog-friendly. Unfortunately we don't allow cats (we're allergic).
Please note: A maximum of 6 adults are able to stay at this property, per the regulations of our cabin's HOA. Larger groups with a mix of adults and children are able to stay here -- up to 10 guests total. So if your group is > 6 people and includes children, that's totally OK! Please let us know so we can leave enough towels. Thank you!
Our cleaning team sweeps the deck, stairs, and walkways before each arrival, but due to the natural setting, you may still notice some leaves, pollen, or similar—especially during certain seasons. We appreciate your understanding as nature tends to leave its mark, no matter how often we tidy up!
Beyond the cabin itself, we love how close to everything we are. You have all the amenities of living in the mountains, but you're also only 20 minutes from the city of Berkeley Springs. The town has been voted one of the top arts communities in the US, and the shopping, spa, and restaurant scene does not disappoint.
The Neighborhood:
Tranquil Nights is just south of the city of Berkeley Springs, and feels like a world away from everything. The cabin is nestled in the Cacapon Mountains right near the Cacapon River.
We love the river! We often go swimming, tubing and fishing; it's perfect on a hot summer day.
About a 15 min drive from our place is a small local brewery, Berkeley Springs Brewing Company. They're constantly churning out new beer (literally every week); we're big fans of their IPA and sour beers. They also have a smoker with fantastic BBQ!
Getting Around:
There's plenty of parking on site. We're about a 20 min drive from Berkeley Springs.
Interaction with Guests:
Tony can be reached via cell/text during your stay, and a property manager can be onsite for any issues that arise.

A Little Place in WV has everything you need for a quiet getaway stay. Beautifully sited on a secluded 5 acre wooded lot, the hilltop location offers a graceful view across gently rolling hills to Cacapon Mountain in the near distance. Fog often divides the peaks and valleys in the early morning. Sun, moon, and stars rise to greet you, warming your morning or silvering your night. This cabin is a great place for a romantic getaway or an intimate weekend with your family. Secluded and completely surrounded by woods the site provides privacy in an open outdoor setting. Small groups of friends will enjoy the chance to hangout and visit in a beautiful setting--quiet, secluded and peaceful. The deck and one balcony look east to Cacapon Mountain with rolling hills between. A second balcony looks straight into the trees. The two bedroom cabin sleeps six comfortably. Recently renovated, the charming mix of colors, furnishings and natural light provide a warm cozy atmosphere. A gas fireplace will take the chill off an autumn evening and add an intimate feel to the living room. There are three TVs and DVD players, half gig internet, Wifi for computer and cell phone use, and a library of DVDs to keep you entertained. The kitchen is fully equipped with stove, refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave, pots and pans, dishes and glasses. There is a washer and dryer in the basement. You can enjoy your meals inside or on the deck with views across the valley. The master bedroom suite has a queen size bed and sitting area. There are two balconies with wonderful cross breezes. The cabin has central air but you probably won't need it. The second bedroom has a double bunk bed. There is a futon in the basement den. Plenty of sheets and towels are available.
- "Great place" - "The property was nice and secluded. Didn't see or hear a sign of city life! Enjoyed sitting on the deck and looking at the mountains. Seen some baby deer and a small box turtle in the yard." - "Outstanding place to stay. Family memorial in the area. Made a great base camp. Elderly members in our group appreciated the first floor and the view. Thanks for letting us share your little slice of West Virginia heaven." - "We had a great time at this cabin! The views of Cacapon were amazing. It's a great hub to explore Hancock and the western Maryland Rail Trail, Berkeley Springs, and Paw Paw. Be careful of random animals (geese, goats, puppies) in the road on the drive in."

- "I would highly recommend renting this property for a peaceful getaway. We had some personal issues that came up during our stay but the property managers were very understanding and accommodating." - "Life crazy? Work wearing you down? Need to escape, relax, and focus on what's important? BOOK THE LAZY DAYS RETREAT RIGHT NOW! This was my first VRBO booking ever and it far exceeded expectations. Aside from the beauty of the West Virginia hills and quiet woodland surrounding the property -- reasons enough to choose this location -- the owners have provided every possible amenity and comfort you can imagine... and many you wouldn't. Feel like making a milkshake? They have a milkshake machine. Got a craving for homemade ice cream. There's an ice cream maker on the kitchen counter. Despite your pledge to not check the work e-mail and still have that itch? Yep, the WiFi works perfectly. It's obvious that the owners take great pride in their home and we were fortunate to have such a welcoming and relaxing retreat. Sparkling clean, quiet and comfortable, and more than enough space to spread out, grab a book and read in front of the fireplace, sink into the hot tub, or just sit on the deck or porch and zone out. Thank you to the Day* family for sharing their wonderful retreat with the rest of us. This is truly a "home away from home" and one we're looking forward to returning to. *The Marx Lazy Day vintage farm toys... took almost 24 hours to "get it." Great touch. :)"

Tucked into a wooded pocket of the Cacapon River Valley, River Walk is the kind of place where shoes come off at the door and stress doesn’t make it past the driveway. This private cabin, set on five beautiful acres, feels like you’ve finally stepped out of the scroll and into the moment. And with direct river access? You can go from coffee to kayak without ever getting in the car.
Stay small, live wide
River Walk was made for up to four guests who know the joy of not being overscheduled. There’s no fancy lobby here—just a cozy place to rest, reset, and listen to the water.
✅ Queen sleeper sofa in the living space—perfect for starry-eyed couples or kids who fall asleep mid-movie
✅ Wood-burning stove to warm your toes after a river dip or crisp autumn hike
✅ Mini-split A/C and heat to keep the temperature just right, whatever the season
✅ High-speed internet so you can stream, scroll, or “work” from the deck
✅ And yes, the Roku TV is there when you want it—but most folks forget it’s even on the wall.
Outside’s where it shines
Let’s be honest—you're here for the fresh air and freedom. And this place brings it in spades.
✅ Private river access just a short stroll away—bring your fishing rod, float, or picnic blanket
✅ Deck + screened porch for breezy lounging or bug-free meals
✅ Hot tub for starry-night soaking or early morning steam sessions
✅ Outdoor kitchen + propane grill for casual dinners and midnight marshmallows
✅ Campfire ring + swing set for s’mores and slow swaying
✅ Picnic table in the yard, because lunch just tastes better outside
It’s like a summer camp for grownups... but with better sheets and fewer rules.
Bring your pup, bring your people
River Walk is pet-friendly—up to two dogs welcome with a small fee ($40 per pet, per stay). With room to roam, squirrels to chase, and a river to splash in, your four-legged travel buddy’s gonna be in heaven.
Add in:
✅ Washer and dryer for muddy paw prints or post-river rinse cycles
✅ Private driveway and free parking (no street spots or parallel parking required)
✅ Fully stocked kitchen so you’re not running into town for salt or a spatula
✅ …and you’ve got everything you need for a few days off the grid (without really being off the grid).
One last thing (before you grab your bag)
This place isn’t about having every amenity under the sun. It’s about space. Quiet. That second cup of coffee because you’re not in a rush. That first river splash when the sun breaks through the trees. That feeling when the hot tub steam meets the cool night air.
River Walk invites you to unplug without losing comfort—and reconnect without losing service.
So bring your book. Or your kayak. Or nothing at all. The river’s waiting.

- "Great piece of property, cute little cabin. In a nice location." - "Our stay was very nice. This cabin is cozy and has everything you would need to enjoy your stay. The screened in porch was nice because it was buggy some of the days we were there so we hung out relaxing without getting all bit up. The private river access area was great to go fish and cool off in the water. We have no complaints with our stay, we didn’t want to leave."

Forest River Lodge is a secluded cabin nestled in the West Virginia mountains – just steps from the river – with everything you need for your getaway.
The highlights:
- Hang out in the large screened-in porch or around the fire pit
- Relax in the hot tub
- Grill on the spacious deck
- Fast WiFi
- 3 min drive (or pleasant walk) to private river access for swimming, fishing, & splashing around!
- Drive 20 mins into Berkeley Springs for amazing restaurants, shopping, & dozens of festivals
The Space:
Our family-friendly cabin is packed with amenities and fun for couples, families or small groups of friends.
The cabin includes:
- 2 bedrooms: one with a queen bed, and the other with a queen + twin bunk combo (3 beds total)
- Additional pull-out sofa in the main living room
- Fully-stocked kitchen with stove/oven and microwave
- Gas Wood stove to keep you cozy at night (plus baseboard heaters if you want to keep things easy)
- Fast fiber optic WiFi for streaming or taking video calls
- Outside fire pit with seating for the whole gang
- An outdoor yard game treasure box full of activities for kids and adults: cornhole, volleyball, soccer balls, horseshoes, and many more!
Our cabin also has private access to the Cacapon River, just a quick 15 min walk from the cabin. It’s perfect (especially on a hot day!) for swimming, fishing, or splashing around.
Our cabin is secluded, and without cell service. We love disconnecting from the world while we're there and putting away our smart phones, but please plan accordingly. That said, we have plenty of board games and outdoor games to enjoy!
Please be advised you have rented a mountainous property. AWD or 4X4 is recommended. The main and secondary roads are usually paved. However, there are many side roads that are gravel or hard-packed dirt surfaces. You may experience potholes, ruts, steep inclines, and rough terrain. Most front-wheel drive vehicles have no trouble accessing the property from these roads if you drive safely and slowly. We do not recommend low-profile vehicles such as sports cars or motorcycles. During inclement weather such as snow or ice, you may be required to have 4-wheel drive or tire chains. We also recommend Travel Insurance during the winter months. We do not give refunds for road conditions that are out of our control.
Our cleaning team sweeps the deck, stairs, and walkways before each arrival, but due to the natural setting, you may still notice some leaves, pollen, or similar—especially during certain seasons. We appreciate your understanding as nature tends to leave its mark, no matter how often we tidy up!
We often take our three little kids and dog to the cabin with us, so we're very family- and dog-friendly. Unfortunately we don't allow cats (we're allergic).
Beyond the cabin itself, we love how close to Berkeley Springs (a 20 min drive away). Berkeley Springs has been voted one of the top arts communities in the US, and has fantastic breweries, restaurants, and shops for you to enjoy!
- "Nice place to just decompress" - "Trip and host were great! No complaints, and looking forward to staying again! 4wd is recommended for the last 1/4 mile because it is steep and unpaved with several large rocks to clear or watch for as of March ‘23. Seeing the sunrise from the hot tub while listening to the woods wake up should be on your list of things to do. Berkley Springs Brewery is a nice spot with good selection. The other cabins in the community are far enough apart to have a sense of privacy while remaining visible."

- "We are repeat renters from last year. Again, we were not disappointed. House is well kept..clean and comfortable. Our teenagers had great fun fishing( catch and release). We had an added bonus of watching a family of beavers construct an " addition" to their lodge. Our host Ryan was very gracious to answer our questions about the TV system. Thanks again for a great time and endless memories 😊 Gloria and family" - "Wow! This place is pictured in the dictionary under “quiet and peaceful “. If you and your family are looking for a place to unplug, connect with each other, and decompress, this is it. The cabin is so comfortable. The furniture and beds are wonderful. The kitchen is very well equipped. We didn’t cook but the cabinets are stocked with everything you need. The screen porch is a wonderful place to spend time reading, listening to the rain, and playing games. Everything was so clean! So clean!! Outside, the fire pit was awesome! It was very well stocked, and the chairs were wonderful. We walked down to the river and it would be great for young kids to play in. It’s a bit of a walk but easy to do. And there’s a Frisbee golf area on the way. The greatest amenity is the one you can’t see or hear. It’s the QUIET. No road noise, no noisy neighbors, no airplanes. Just the birds and the leaves rustling. You don’t realize how quiet the quiet is until you hear “quiet”! So peaceful. Two things to be aware of…there is no cell service. There is a great Wi-Fi signal from the house but no calls or texts. There is a house phone I think…at least that’s what Google says it is when I took a picture of it. Also, a higher ground clearance vehicle would be best. The last bit of the driveway is gravel and a bit rough. Our Subaru did fine. The last few turns to get there would be best done in the daylight. Owner sent awesome directions!"

We often take our three little kids and dog to the cabin with us, so we're very family- and dog-friendly. Unfortunately we don't allow cats (we're allergic).
Please note: The tap water often has a yellow/light brown appearance due to high minerality levels -- specifically iron and manganese. We’ve had the pipes/well inspected and there’s nothing wrong with them; the presence of iron/manganese is normal in this area, and the water is perfectly safe to drink. We recommend bringing bottledwater.
Wi-Fi is provided, but due to the remote setting, service can sometimes be slower or spotty. We suggest downloading any essential content in advance.

Summary:
Welcome to Wildcat Retreat, hosted by Blue Maple!
A cozy cabin nestled in the West Virginia mountains, with everything you need for your getaway.
The highlights:
- Grill on our huge deck
- Hang out and roast s’mores around our fire pit
- Warm yourself by the living room stone fireplace
- Relax in our jacuzzi spa tub
- Drive 20 mins into Berkeley Springs for amazing restaurants, shopping, and festivals
The Space:
Our family-friendly cabin is packed with amenities and fun for couples, families or small groups of friends.
The cabin includes:
- One bedroom + a loft sleeping area (three beds total + daybed)
- A huge wrap-around deck with a propane grill
- Spa tub with jets in the main bathroom
- Large stone fireplace in the living room to keep you cozy at night
- Central AC and heat (so you’re always comfortable!)
- Fully-stocked kitchen with a dishwasher, stove/oven, and microwave
- Outside fire pit with seating for the whole gang
We often take our three little kids and dog to the cabin with us, so we're very family- and dog-friendly. Unfortunately we don't allow cats (we're allergic).
Please note: The tap water often has a yellow/light brown appearance due to high minerality levels -- specifically iron and manganese. We’ve had the pipes/well inspected and there’s nothing wrong with them; the presence of iron/manganese is normal in this area, and the water is perfectly safe to drink. We recommend bringing bottled water.
This cabin has a wood-burning fireplace and stove that add to its coziness. We recommend you bring your own firewood to enjoy! Also, it's common for a smoky smell to linger in the wooden-interior cabin after use.
Our cleaning team sweeps the deck, stairs, and walkways before each arrival, but due to the natural setting, you may still notice some leaves, pollen, or similar—especially during certain seasons. We appreciate your understanding as nature tends to leave its mark, no matter how often we tidy up!
Beyond the cabin itself, we love how close to everything we are -- particularly the Great Cacapon River and Berkeley Springs. The Great Cacapon is fantastic for kayaking, canoeing, and fishing throughout the year. And the town of Berkeley Springs has been voted one of the top arts communities in the US; the shopping, spa, and restaurant scene does not disappoint!
- "My girlfriend and I enjoyed the cabin as a way to unplug and getaway. It was a nice secluded location. We really enjoyed having a bonfire and a hot tub on a cold night!" - "Loved the Cabin. Fully stocked with everything you need for your stay. Great place to experience West Virginia."

Please note:
You have rented a mountainous property.
A new home is currently under construction in the neighborhood. While work is generally limited to daytime hours, you may notice some activity or noise during your stay. We appreciate your understanding as the area continues to grow and improve!
Our cleaning team sweeps the deck, stairs, and walkways before each arrival, but due to the natural setting, you may still notice some leaves, pollen, or similar—especially during certain seasons. We appreciate your understanding as nature tends to leave its mark, no matter how often we tidy up!
Beyond the cabin itself, we love how close to Berkeley Springs (a 20 min drive away). Berkeley Springs has been voted one of the top arts communities in the US, and has fantastic breweries, restaurants, and shops for you to enjoy!
- "My boyfriend and I loved our brief stay at the Green Rabbit with our small dog, Bella. The cabin is so cute and very secluded - we couldn't see any neighbors houses through the trees in any direction (in May), and that was exactly what we'd hoped for. It's nice to get away and just pretend the rest of the world doesn't exist sometimes :) and this was a perfect spot to do just that. We enjoyed the hot tub that was right on the deck under some lovely café lights at night. We also played cornhole which was so fun to have available for us. There were no issues with the WiFi connectivity for our phones or streaming TV. We were also able to take Bella with us into the tap room of the nearby Berkely Springs Brewing Co. for dinner. The BBQ food there was pretty average, but it was so nice to find a place that was dog-friendly to eat out. We loved that they have a specific dog menu too; Bella loved her bone-broth 'pupsicle'. Overall we had a wonderful experience with our stay and wish we could have been there longer. Check in and check out was very easy, and communication with Tony was on point the whole time with everything we needed to know. My only suggestion after our stay would be to consider bringing your own flatter pillow if you're a back sleeper, because all of the pillows were quite plump (which isn't a bad thing at all, just more of a side-sleeper height thing). We would love to return at some point though when we can enjoy all of the home's amenities more. Thank you again to our host for the wonderful accommodations! We will definitely recommend it to friends."

The highlights:
- Relax in the hot tub!

- 3 min drive (or pleasant walk) to private river access
- Roast s’mores around the fire pit
The Space:
Escape to our cozy cabin retreat—perfect for families, friends, or a small group looking to unwind and reconnect in nature. Whether you’re grilling out, gathering around the fire pit, or stargazing at night, this cabin offers a memorable stay surrounded by natural beauty and fresh mountain air.
The cabin includes:
- Outdoor hot tub perfect for relaxing
- 2 bedrooms, both with queen-size beds
- Fully-stocked kitchen with stove/oven and microwave
- Central AC and heat to keep you comfortable, regardless of the weather
- Enjoy fast, reliable Frontier Fiber — perfect for streaming your favorite shows or staying connected with video calls

Our cabin also has private access to the Cacapon River, just a quick 15 min walk from the cabin. It’s perfect (especially on a hot day!) for swimming, fishing, or splashing around.
Please note: Our cabin is off the beaten path and doesn’t have cell service. We love disconnecting from the world while we're there and putting away our smartphones, but please plan accordingly. That said, we have plenty of board games, outdoor activities, and a hot tub to enjoy!
Also, the gravel road up to the cabin is steep in some places. We've visited many times in only our front-wheel drive car, but during the winter or after a recent rainstorm, we recommend driving an SUV/truck or four-wheel drive car.
Our cleaning team sweeps the deck, stairs, and walkways before each arrival, but due to the natural setting, you may still notice some leaves, pollen, or similar—especially during certain seasons. We appreciate your understanding as nature tends to leave its mark, no matter how often we tidy up!

PLEASE NOTE:
*All roads to the cabin are paved except for the last half mile up, which is a very steep dirt/gravel road. Can't get the views without going up high! Cars and minivans ARE capable of making it up the road, I've done it myself many times and some of the year round residents drive the road everyday in a car, however I do HIGHLY recommend a 4WD/AWD vehicle year round to make driving up the road easier, especially in the winter. Do NOT drive a low-profile vehicle to get here such as a modified sports car. Read the reviews and please ask any questions PRIOR to booking!
COLD WEATHER BOOKINGS PLEASE READ:
*During the colder months the mountains of WV can receive ample amounts of snow and ice. 4WD/AWD truck or SUV if and WHEN snow/ice is on the roads is required to access the cabin!! Snow typically does not stick around the entire winter here, but I cannot predict the weather nor can I predict when snow will melt. No refunds or changes will be made due to weather or road conditions, travel insurance recommended.
*Parking IS available at the bottom of the dirt road (off the paved road) if you are unable to make it up the road to the cabin, this would be extremely rare outside of a major snow or ice storm or during stretches of below normal temperatures and the snow doesn't melt. This would require a half mile hike up the road to the cabin. - "Property is an extremely quiet and peaceful getaway in a beautiful area of West Virginia. The property had everything one could possibly need and had wonderful views of the surrounding mountains. Steve was an excellent host and easy to communicate with. Definitely recommend!" - "Cabin was clean, spacious, and had a great deck. We enjoyed our visit!" - "Provided written manuals with a lot of details that could be viewed online. The online pages helped me to get ready for potentially unexpected needs. Before the snow storm hit the area, the owner reached out to me and warned me about potential inaccessibility of the cabin plus additionally required equipment in order to gain better access. When the snow storm hit right before my arrival date, owner reached out to me again to tell me about the dangerous road condition with potential power outage and offered a refund. As VRBO app made an option to request refund unavailable since it was less than 24 hours before my scheduled check in time, the owner contacted the company to quickly process the refund. I was reluctant to risk getting stuck on the hill before the cabin or end up in a cabin without utilities thinking it would still be memorable until my friend decided against joining me for potentially a pre-historic trip. However, the host was extremely considerate and willing to make sure I wouldn't end up paying for a trip that may not conform to what I might have expected or wanted from the cabin. I know how hard getting a refund can be at some places once a payment is made, so I was very surprised and want to try booking here again."

Tucked into the quiet woods of the gated River Ridge community, Namba is a sweet, unfussy kind of stay. The kind where porch-sitting is a daily ritual, and the river’s always within reach. Whether you’re chasing fireflies with the kids or floating lazily down the Cacapon, this place gives you that soft pause you didn’t know you needed.
It’s not fancy. It’s freeing.
Simple setup, serious comfort
With room for up to 5 guests, Namba is the kind of space that fits without fuss. You won’t be bumping into each other or digging through drawers for a spatula.
✅ 2 bedrooms — one with a queen bed, the other with two twins (great for kids, friends, or those who like to spread out)
✅ 1 full bathroom with a tub and shower combo—easy for rinsing off sandy toes or winding down after a river day
✅ Full service kitchen—nothing over-the-top, just the real essentials to cook up what you love
✅ Roku smart TV and high-speed internet, in case you need a movie night or a moment to catch up
✅ And the screened-in porch? It’s where everyone ends up, whether it’s for a slow breakfast or a glass of something at sunset.
Fenced yard, charcoal grill, and plenty of sky
The fenced-in yard means your dog (or your kids) can safely roam, while you’re free to relax on the deck or fire up the charcoal grill. The trees provide the soundtrack—wind in the leaves, birds chatting, maybe the occasional splash from the river nearby.
✅ Private deck for stretching out in the sun
✅ Picnic table for lunch under the sky
✅ Community river access—bring your float, rod, or just your curiosity
✅ Community park within walking distance—playground energy or a peaceful bench moment, your choice
You’ll find yourself outside more than in. But that’s kind of the point.
Pet-friendly, kid-friendly, just plain friendly
Yes, your pups are welcome—up to 2 per stay, just $40 each. They’ll love the smells, the squirrels, and the fenced yard. You’ll love not worrying about them while you sip coffee in peace.
And if you're wondering about logistics?
✅ Private driveway, free parking
✅ Washer and dryer—because muddy adventures happen
✅ Private home—no shared walls or awkward encounters
You’ve got space. You’ve got privacy. You’ve got a place that feels like home, but with way better scenery.
Just one more thing...
Namba is what happens when the bare necessities come wrapped in natural beauty. It’s not trying to be extravagant. It’s not trying to impress. It just is. Easy. Clean. Peaceful.
You’ll sleep better. Laugh more. Take longer walks. And maybe—just maybe—forget where your phone is for a while.
Sound like the kind of reset you’ve been craving? Go ahead. The river’s waiting.

- "The house was absolutely perfect for our needs. Having a fenced in yard made taking the fur babies super easy. The only frustrating thing about this listing is having to get gate access key in Berkeley springs and also having to return it there. It took us about 20 minutes out of the way but it was worth it for the relaxation." - "We had a great stay at this rental over Thanksgiving. There was strong wifi and our dog loved the fence in area. Particularly loved how quiet the area was and the comfy side porch."

This beautiful and recently remodeled cabin is in a league of its own! Possibly the only cabin in the surrounding area that has its own natural sand beach! The cabin sits nestled roughly 200 feet from the beautiful Cacapon River! Go down the gravel path to your very own river beach oasis, and make sure to keep your eyes peeled for our resident nesting Eagles and their Eaglets! You will see them practicing fishing or perching on their favorite trees very close to the beach! Best of all, the depth of the water provides a safe area for kids to swim but deep enough for adults to enjoy as well!
The cabin was remodeled in 2020 with new floors, a concrete pad underneath the cabin for entertaining, a beautiful new tile shower, and a fire ring that you can sit next to while losing yourself in the sounds of nature and the view of the stars! Its open floor plan allows for the family to stay close! One full-size bed and a pull out sofa bed are all you need to enjoy the relaxation! Let's not forget the wrap-around deck where you can kick your legs up and let the sound of the river put you to sleep!
The cabin has no internet or cable, but be sure to download all of your favorite Netflix shows and bring them along! You can also bring your favorite DVDs or VHSs! For those adults that enjoy a good game of Super Mario Bros, a Super Nintendo will be sure to bring back that childhood competitive spirit!
Do not forget your fishing poles, some of the best smallmouth fishing around can be enjoyed on many close sections of the river! Hiking trails to the rear of the cabin will lead you to find something you would expect to be native to Arizona, not WV. Be sure to explore the ground on the top of the hill. Leave what you find in your review :)
Come see why our cabin has been enjoyed by our family for almost 50 years!
- "Wonderful little beach area and cozy little cabin." - "Our family had a wonderful time getting away from it all at the cabin. The beach area was perfect for our little children and our older two loved getting out on kayaks and fishing. The location is so tranquil! We also enjoyed small excursions to Berkeley Sprinds and the Paw Paw Tunnel. " - "We stayed for five days at the cabin. We took our dog. The location was amazing! It was laid-back, quiet, filled with starry nights and bonfires. Highly recommended!"

- "Can’t say enough good things about this property. It’s beautiful, private, quiet. I love it. Minus the heatwave, it was the perfect way to ring in my birthday alone with my favorite person: my dog." - "this property everything we were looking for, piece and quite with an amazing view. The house is well maintained and has a great feel to it. " - "Perfect weekend " - "Extremely clean and very nice private location cabin deep in the woods. The beds were very comfortable and the deck would be amazing for entertaining. We unfortunately were there during hurricane Debbie and had to leave early. Stephanie was very responsive and accommodating to our changing plans! The check in process was a bit problematic with the lack of cell service and the extra gate key instructions were in a separate email, by my own fault I missed and didn’t read throughly. Other reviews also noted the loud AC units in 2 of the bedrooms, they may need serviced and to also have a AC unit in the third room."

After you enter you are greeted with the most amazing cabin I've ever seen! I don't even know how they built such a place! as they would have to get all the materials up a mountain. They have thought of everything! emergency toiletries , fresh towels all over the place laid out hotel style. there is a heavenly smell that wafts through the house! "hats off to the cleaning team!" And a full game room in the basement! This is the kind of place where you don't have to leave the cabin at all to have an amazing time! The view from the hot tub and deck will change your life! - "My husband and I had a very nice and relaxing trip here. We also brought our dog, and it was very dog friendly with two lines provided outside that you could hook the dog up to. Check in and out was very easy with using a lockbox. It's a bit of a windy drive up that starts on a paved road and ends on gravel. But the drive is scenic and easy. The place is cute, cozy and clean. The beds were also comfortable. The only complaint we had was with the toilet, it works, but had issues with it flushing all the way even after holding the handle down. But we had a great time exploring Berkeley Springs and relaxing back at the house. Would definitely recommend staying here and would definitely stay again. "

- "We had a friends meet up at this cabin. We loved the waterfront access and spent a lot of time on the deck enjoying the view. Also love that it was dog friendly. The available kayaks and canoes were a nice plus. Overall it was a pretty good cabin, but the listing makes it seem much bigger than it is. The listing says it's 4000 sq ft, which it is not. We still had enough of room for 6 people and some dogs. The main floor bedroom does not have any windows (which is not apparent from the pictures). The house overall was very creaky, so if you're a light sleeper, beware. "

- "I stayed here the week bridging Christmas and New years, and had a nice stay. The house had plenty of room for me and my pup. Very private. And the park at the east entrance was a lovely surprise to let my dog run around. Loved the fireplace, but it was difficult to find wood in the area. They said that they provided it, but there was only three logs. I was there for 7 nights. My only major issue is their check in process. You have to go 30 min away to get access to the property. And they only informed me of this a couple of days before the trip. Really inconvenient if you are coming anywhere but from the north. I had to change plans around in order to drop the card back off when leaving. But otherwise i had a really great time."

The space

We are often here with our toddler, so we are SUPER kid friendly. Outlets are plugged, baby gates are up, pack & play, changing table and kid toys are available.
As you can see in the photos, we are also very dog friendly. There is a doggy door that leads to a fenced in back yard, dog bed, bowls, runners and dog toys are available.
I have a full sit/stand desk with mat available for use. I leave the 27" 4k Dell monitor with USB-C hookup & apple USB-C charger available for use. We just had gigabit fiber installed so the internet is super fast.
The cabin has AC & Heat, with each room having base-board heaters for extra heat as needed. Main fireplace can be used to heat the cabin, and it has an electric blower if needed.
I love to cook. So I've outfitted the kitchen with everything you need. 10" Chef's knife, cast iron skillet, griddle, rice cooker, cutting boards, baking sheets, gas stove, kosher salt, olive oil and more. Kitchen also has a dishwasher, twice filtered water filler & 2 ice makers on the fridge.
We've also put together a hot cocoa / oatmeal / breakfast / s'mores bar. With everything you need for that cup of cocoa on the porch, or that early morning bowl of oatmeal. We've also got 6 telescoping s'mores skewers with everything you need for s'mores over the fire-pit.
Outside we have a fire-pit with firewood ready to go. Propane stove on the back deck as well as outside lighting for those late evening porch times.
The cabin has private access to the Cacapon river just 4 minutes down the road. A Kayak will be down by the river from April to October. The water is clean, clear & not very deep.
There are 2 really great small spots for food. One is called Sheryl's (8 minutes away), they serve fresh sandwiches, vegetables, fruit and ice cream. The other is called Stoney Creek Store, they sell general goods, lunch, dinner and alcohol. (9 minutes away). There is a Food Lion in Berkeley Springs about 22 minutes away (which you should hit on the way in if you didn't pack any food)
We really hope you enjoy your relaxing time up at the cabin as much as we do.

Other things to note
Alternatively guests with cars or are not comfortable to drive up the road can park their car here and ride up to the cabin with a guest in their vehicle.
*FAST Wi-Fi through Starlink with 100% unobstructed views of the sky at all times and year round. Yes it's satellite internet but nothing like HughesNet or Viasat. Very reliable with low latency and no data caps. Speeds are variable depending on the time of day or night but average around 100-200 MB/s download. Working from home through a VPN and streaming video/video conferencing fully supported. Streaming apps via the Roku's on the TV's fully supported, bring your logins! Wi-fi signal good throughout the cabin and at the firepit with new mesh routers for optimal Wi-Fi range.
*Very limited to no cell service here and a traditional landline is not supported at this location from the phone company. Turning on Wi-Fi calling on your cell phone is required in order to place and receive calls while staying at the cabin. Or don't connect to the Wi-Fi and disconnect!
*6 guests ages 2+ is the maximum allowed to stay here. Infants do not count towards the guest count.
*All dogs must be over 6 months old and completely potty trained. Dogs are the only pets allowed, maximum of 2.
*There are stairs to get from the main level to the finished basement, there is a door on the main level to the basement. There is a ramp from the driveway to the front door for easy access to the cabin. Driveway and firepit area is flat.
*The land surrounding the cabin is steep terrain and care must be taken when walking around, the driveway and fire pit area is fairly level.
*Plentiful wildlife on the surrounding land to include deer, raccoon, eagles, falcons, coyotes, etc, and occassionaly bears and snakes. Cabin is very remote and the land is rugged, care must be taken while exploring outside, especially with young children and dogs.
*Level 1 EV Charger available for guest use free of charge. Level 1 is an outdoor 110 volt exterior outlet, bring your own extension cord.

The cabin is dog friendly- we allow one, well behaved dog per stay. We provide dog bowls by the door, and there is a long line outside on the porch. There is an additional $75 cleaning fee for the pooch.
Guest access
Everything in the house minus one upstairs closet and one cabinet in the kitchen.
Other things to note
Couple things to note:
This cabin has some quirks to it, as it is an older chalet in the woods. We currently have a wifi hotspot - great for working, less great for streaming. The TV gets several channels via antenna, including PBS Kids, but is not a smart TV. The shower faucet can be temperamental turning off, but other than that gets good pressure and gets nice and hot.
This cabin has baseboard heating, which is controlled individually in each room.
Washer • Kirkland signature shampoo • Mountain view • Bathtub • Cleaning products • River view • Hot water • Kirkland Signature conditioner • Hair dryer • Shower gel

Security Cameras:
We have security cameras at the front door, the garage facing the driveway and the patio entrance. These cameras are connected to the security alarm system and are actively monitored. Additionally, we have noise monitors which DO NOT record any audio but do measure the decibel level in the property. Finally, we utilize thermostat sensors in each room which only measure the rooms temperature to ensure a comfortable environment for our guests.
Wood Burning Stove:
Please note that the main level features a wood-burning stove, adding to the rustic ambiance of the cabin. However, it is important to mention that the stove is for decorative purposes only and should not be used for heating or cooking. Guests are advised to enjoy the warmth and charm it brings to the space without attempting to operate it.
Nature Advisory:
Given our cabin's idyllic woodland location, guests should be aware that encounters with insects and wildlife are a natural part of the experience. The property is professionally treated for pests on a regular basis to minimize any inconveniences. While we take every precaution to create a comfortable environment, it's essential to note that we cannot safeguard against pests and mother nature entirely. We encourage guests to embrace the beauty of nature while being mindful of the occasional presence of local insects and wildlife.
Winter Travel Advisory:
For guests planning to visit during winter or when snow is forecasted, we highly recommend having an AWD or 4WD vehicle. While our property is accessible year-round, winter weather conditions can vary, and having suitable transportation ensures a safe and enjoyable journey. Additionally, we recommend considering trip insurance to protect your travel plans in case of unforeseen circumstances.
