My little cabin is at the end of the resort (Black Bear), and is quiet and private, backing up to a horsefarm. It has the best view of all the resort across the Canaan Valley, Timberline Four Seasons Resort,White Grass, and on to the Dolly Sods. Close to skiing, biking, hiking, fishing, whitewater rafting, rock climbing, antiquing, and live music!

All new appliances. It was not a smart tv as advertised and, probably due to the storm, the satellite signal was in and out. Oh well, didn't come to watch tv. Blackwater Falls was amazing covered in snow and ice. Stumptown Ales has some of the best beer I've had. Really wish I could've brought some home. Most definitely a great trip and place to stay. "

When I think back to my childhood home, I can say with certainty that my favorite room was the den. It wasn’t a big space, but every inch of it contained the most interesting relics. The space:
The Davis Ridge is a spacious 1 Bed, 1 full bath home that also has a full size pull-out sofa bed. There is a full kitchen and large outdoor balcony that overlooks the ski resorts and mountains connecting them.

A cozy fireplace, with free firewood included, will provide you with the perfect ambiance throughout the day.

There are trails right from the parking lot that take you as far as you want to go. You are surrounded by the beautiful wilderness of the Canaan Valley, yet you are only five short minutes to Davis. Thomas is only a couple minute past that. It's the best of both worlds.

There are no reasons to worry about the access in the winter. The roads to and from the property and the driveway on the property are all plowed at the first sign of snow and there is no steep road or driveway to drive on.

From beginning to end Jared was on top of communication and was so helpful and quick to respond. The location was amazing, so close to the state park and the towns. We enjoyed many meals out in Davis and Thomas as well as exploring around and sightseeing. The condo had everything we needed and it was quiet and comfortable. We didn’t end up using the fireplace but there was tons of firewood which would be perfect if it was colder out. We would definitely come back here again! :)"

*Party Free Zone : 1 Pet MAX Our efficiency inn suite is equipped with a cozy fireplace (Duralog). We do not have a full kitchen. It has a mini fridge, microwave, some dishes and some glassware (coffee mugs / wine glasses & regular glasses). We provide a regular coffee pot and a Keurig. We also supply fresh white linens and towels for the bathroom and beds. There is a closet with hangers and a box fan for “white noise”. If you run out of toiletries such as toilet paper, you can call the main office during office hours 9am-4:00 pm.

The bathroom has a large tub / jacuzzi / shower combo. This is not a hot tub*

I would pack an extra roll or two of toilet paper just incase it’s not fully stocked. Bring your own shampoo, conditioner and other shower necessities. We have a large flat screen smart TV including Roku (password shown after check in) and WiFi access. Don’t forget an extra cozy blanket for the pull out couch.

Our king size bed is a super cozy memory foam hybrid, good for a great deep sleep after a long day.

Guest access
Guest can use the outdoor fire pit area up until 10 pm. The groundskeeper will be checking that all fires are put out NO LATER than the 10 pm. At that time it’s considered “quiet time” on the grounds.

This is a basement apartment in the heart of Canaan Valley. Less than 10 min drive to everything: Timeberline ski resort, Canaan Valley ski resort, incredibly fun local XC ski area Whitegrass, art galleries, amazing food options, breweries, and even distilleries! There are two state parks to hike and explore within 10 mins, and a beautiful wildlife refuge only one mile away. Whatever outdoor recreation you enjoy, Tucker Co has the best places to explore. And high speed WiFi.

The space
This space is a basement apartment with a separate entrance from the main house. It has a full kitchen with a mini fridge, a bedroom, and a sitting area. We live upstairs full time and we're happy to help you out!

Please note that we live upstairs with our 3 children, 2 dogs, and 2 cats. We do our very best to be respectful of your stay, but you'll probably hear us moving around living life upstairs.

This space is the loft area in a 40-year-old log cabin. It is a private bedroom with a private bathroom. There is one queen and two twin beds. You enter through the main house, but there is a locked door to the room. It is a shared home, and my son and I live downstairs. We have a cat named Seneca.

We are located 3 miles from Davis and 8 miles from White Grass X-Country ski area.
It is easily accessible even in the winter.

The space
Dromore is a throwback to the original Airbnb. We had a huge unused loft and created a welcoming space for guests in our home. It is, however, it is quite private, so you feel very separate from the rest of the home. This is a log cabin on 1.5 acres, and we have a long front porch and a backyard with a fire ring. Our home is in a quiet neighborhood across the street from the National Forest. The rental area consists of a single large room with three beds and a private bathroom. It is in the loft area.
My son and I use the main downstairs space. You enter through the main front door but go up the stairs to the loft. The room has a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, tea kettle, and fresh towels. I also provide utensils, bowls, and small plates.
You are welcome to enjoy the porch to drink your coffee or have an evening beverage.

The house is fairly sound-permeable, so you may hear our muffled voices. We also hear muffled sounds from upstairs. The room has access to WiFi but no television.

The entire loft area is open to guests. You do not need a key to enter the house but a key to your room will be provided on check-in.
The rest of the house is not open to guests but we are happy to accommodate requests to use our kitchen. I would love to chat with anyone while we are home. Feel free to use the porch to relax. You can leave your bike around back or put it in the shed. Skis are fine on the porch or even inside by the front door.
In the winter I like people to take their shoes off before going upstairs.

This location is secluded enough to enjoy your privacy, but convenient for accessing the towns of Thomas and Davis, Seneca Rocks, Blackwater Falls State Park, Whitegrass, Timberline and Canaan Ski Resorts.

The space
Comfy, simple, unique, with lots of outdoor space and privacy. Kitchen is outfitted for your cooking adventures. The living room is dangerously comfortable. The smart tv is armed with Roku with Spotify premium and Amazon Prime Video provided, so feel free to plug in your computer, log-in to your netflix or browse the other streaming channels. Maps are available at Blackwater Bikes (and on the wall for reference)

Our small, cozy cabin is a great place to relax and enjoy the mountains of WV!

It is the perfect size for a family with young children, or a couple, as it has a single bathroom and fully stocked kitchen.

Our cabin is located on a grass open space with other small cabins. Most of our guests don't mind the location, but please message us if you have questions or concerns prior to booking.

The cabin includes: a kitchen/dining room with all cookware and dishes; living room with fireplace (and firewood), flatscreen TV, DVD player, and HDMI access (feel free to bring your streaming device!); large bathroom with a double jacuzzi tub; washer and dryer; master bedroom with a queen bed; and a loft accessible by a spiral stair (note the spiral stair is narrow and those with mobility issues may have difficulty accessing) with two sets of bunk beds (4 twin beds), flatscreen TV and DVD player.

The community includes an outdoor stocked catch-and-release fishing pond, playground, grass volleyball court, walking trails, and fire pit.

Although summers tend to be cool in the Valley, we have a portable air conditioner that cools the living/kitchen/dining area. The loft is open to the living room below, and has a ceiling fan for comfort. Portable fans are provided for additional comfort in the bedroom and loft. Baseboard heating is used in the cooler months.

Please note that we do have an outdoor grill and picnic table on our small deck.

**The cabin has an updated loft and bedroom with fresh paint and new carpet, as well as, brand-new mattresses and updated linens and pillows.

Other things to note
1. CELL PHONE service in the valley can be spotty and some carriers have better services than others. There are areas in WV where you might not have cell phone service at all, including at our cabin.

2. CABIN WIFI is slower than most people are used to. We can typically stream video on one or two devices. Occasionally, there are internet outages. Do not plan your stay under the assumption that internet service is guaranteed.

3. We operate as an independent rental in a resort community. Understand that other guests in the community may be owners, or renters through other rental agencies. Everyone has a different standard for check-in, trash collection, etc.

Guests are to follow guidelines related to the cabin as distributed by us ONLY. Guests will follow guidelines for community spaces (fire pits, putt-putt, playground, etc) as dictated by the community regulations.

The space

The average temperature in the Canaan Valley area in July and August, is 79 during the day and 59 at night. Due to the relatively cool temperatures here in the mountains most of our homes do not come equipped with air-conditioning. A majority of our homes have ceiling fans in almost every room and there is generally a constant breeze here. However we recommend you bring portable fans if you feel the ceiling fans won’t provide enough air circulation for you.

Beautiful cabin with large deck and all the creature comforts for a relaxing mountain getaway. Watch your children in the play ground from the deck or see the amazing display in the night sky as you gaze upon the stars understanding why they call it the Milky Way. The space
Beautiful charming cozy cabin in sought after Black Bear Resort community. Lovely Mountain and Valley views in peaceful, natural setting surrounded by Wildlife Refuge. This is fully furnished with a queen sized bed in the main level bedroom and Bunk beds for three in the loft bedroom. Unit includes workspace upstairs in loft with desk and monitor that can be used with Roku or laptops as secondary monitor, kitchenette with dishwasher, stove refrigerator Wood burning fireplace, cable tv, Roku, WIFI, washer dryer, access and views of three ski resorts, two downhill one cross country within 5 miles. Outside of the historic towns of Thomas and Davis WV. The resort itself includes putt putt golf course, heated pool, pickleball, jogging/fitness trails, fire pits, fishing pond and more.

Other things to note
This is a dog friendly Cabin. If you have extreme sensitivity to dog dander this is probably not the cabin for you. We do our best to clean all traces of the previous 4-legged inhabitants, but you may occasionally find a dog hair on the couch. If this bothers you again, this might not be the cabin for you.

There is a switch inside the bedroom closet that operates the lights on the back stairs and driveway.

There is a Roku for your convenience. You will need to log into your own accounts should you wish to access streaming services. The TV is small. The cabin is small. We have no desire to put a larger TV in the cabin. If you desire a cabin with a home theatre set up, this is probably not the best choice for you.
Upstairs TV has built in VHS player that works occasionally. It is more of an antique than an amenity. The DVD player works but you need to plug it in and be sure it's connected.

Please note: The heater in the bathroom (covered by picture and bench) is part of the original construction. It has been disconnected in all Black Bear units as it was found to be a fire hazard.
There is no AC in this cabin as the temperatures in the mountains are significantly cooler. The average daytime temp in summer is 75 degrees and average low is 51 degrees. We have had fires in our fireplace in August because the temp hit below 50 degrees. There are plenty of fans and an overhead fan in the loft.

Your family will be close to everything when you stay at this centrally-located place. Located right beside the main route through Canaan Valley, but just far enough off the road to be peaceful! Right in the middle of the Ski resorts for winter activities and close to BlackwaterFalls and Dolly Sods for your Spring, Summer and Fall Activities! We have 1 queen bed and two twin beds in which linens are supplied. Window AC units are installed by June 1 and taken out around Oct 15.

The space
My townhouse is EXTREMELY spacious with a large eat in kitchen, and a comfortable living room with a stone fireplace and outdoor deck. It's only a quick 5 minute drive to the ski slopes, (which you can see from the bedroom windows).

Guest access
You'll have the entire townhouse to yourself and your guests! Upon arrival, check-in at the management office (9am - 5pm weekdays; 9am - 7pm Saturdays; and 10am - 3pm Sundays). Check-in outside of these hours can be accommodated, but arrangements must be made in advance with the management office.

Other things to note
Free WiFi is available in and around the management office and rec center. There's a $15/weekly charge paid directly to the WiFi provider to have WiFi in the unit itself.

The space
Named after the woman of this house when Jenningston was a booming timber town, the Ella Jennings, provides an atmosphere of peace and tranquility. Relax in comfort on the king-sized bed or feel free to gaze out the two large windows which give you a spectacular view of the fields surrounding the property. You have your choice of two bathrooms, one just down the hall, where you can enjoy a bath in the original clawfoot bathtub or venture downstairs to take a shower.

When you check in, you will be greeted by the B&B Manager, Marsha, who will be in the house and readily available from 9 am- 5 pm during the day and onsite as well during the night. She will be happy to help you out should you have any questions or concerns during your stay.

Kayaking, canoes, and paddle boards are welcome on the lake. Relax in nature with friends and family the entire time, or hit the slopes form some more extreme adventure!

You'll have plenty of easy access to hiking trails, skiing and fishing!

Known to locals as "Kate's Place" after the old postmaster, this home has been a village gathering place for nearly a century. Updated in 2022, this home has the quirky charm of an old mountain cabin with modern features, such as a brand new, fully stocked kitchen and Level 2 EV charger. No pet fees!

Enjoy the solitude of the woods, the mountain views, and the trickling creek out your window. Dolly Sods, Canaan Valley, Timberline, and White Grass are all within a 15 minute drive.

The space
The home has 3 bedrooms, each with a double (full or queen) bed. An inflatable queen bed is also available. There are two bathrooms, a half bath upstairs and a full bath downstairs.

The home is centrally heated and toasty warm in winter, and there is plenty of hot water in the shower. The water comes from a spring on the property and is filtered/UV treated. It is delicious and safe to drink.

There is a flat screen television with Roku in the living room. Each of the upstairs bedrooms contains a desk, perfect for telework. We are fortunate to have the best internet connection in the area, and have never had a problem taking video calls or streaming Netflix.

The kitchen comes fully stocked with dishes, cookware, and all major appliances, as well as some smaller appliances like a crockpot and rice cooker. If your plans revolve around any special kitchen devices, please bring your own, or let us know and we can provide it if we have one available.

The cabin is situated on 2 acres with woods and a firepit. We don't currently supply firewood, but you can purchase bundles at a stall in the shopping center near the Ski Barn. Help yourself to any dead and down wood on the property.

The cabin has two security cameras: a Ring doorbell in the front, and a motion-activated floodlight in the rear. These are purely for security between guests and are not actively monitored. Guests are welcome to deactivate both cameras using clearly marked switches in the house during their stay.

Guest access
You will have access to the entire house and property. There are crawlspaces in the upper level, and an outhouse-turned-garden-shed out back that we use as storage and are not available to guests.

Other things to note
This is an authentic turn-of-the-century Appalachian cabin and it has some quirks. It's a cozy, warm, safe, clean, private, and charming space in a gorgeous location, and we hope you love staying here as much as we do.

We welcome our guests to come enjoy our cabin located in the beautiful Black Bear Resort. Located near the Davis and Thomas, Timberline Ski Resort, Blackwater Falls, Canaan Valley, Whitegrass Ski Resort, Dolly Sods, plus more! Our cabin features enough beds to sleep 8 people comfortably! It includes a full functioning kitchen, a real wood burning fireplace, washer and dryer, and wifi. Our cabin's peaceful deck overlooks the Canaan Wildlife Refuge. Come enjoy, explore, relax and make memories!

The space
Inside our cabin you will find a comfortable kitchen and living area with a flat screen tv (with Roku built in), blu-ray/dvd player (with a selection of movies), cable tv, fireplace (with plenty of wood to burn already at the cabin). One queen bed is located on the main level, twin bunk beds and a double bed are located in the loft area, and a double bed in the lower level that has a door leading to the deck that views the wildlife refuge. Loft and lower level are both accessed by a spiral staircase. In the loft you will also find another flat screen tv with cable connection and an xbox 360 with games for your enjoyment. To help entertain families, kids and friends we have board games and coloring books too!

In the kitchen there is a refrigerator, oven, dishwasher, microwave, toaster oven, coffee pot, and on the deck is a gas grill for those that love to cook outdoors. For the days that you do not want to prepare your meal at the cabin you can venture to the historic towns of Davis (4.5 miles) or Thomas (7.3 miles) and try out one of their delicious restaurants or breweries.
