Besides the 7-Eleven at the entrance to the resort, which was very convenient!!! Overall great resort, highly recommend and will likely return!!! "

We offer a 1600 ft. walking trail through our woods for exercise or to get you ready for the many hiking trails in the near by National Forrest. We are located about 10 minutes off Interstate 81 and 15 to 20 minutes from JMU and EMU . Breweries and Wineries are located all around us as well as caverns and other venues. There is a 40 dollar pet fee.

- "Good times!" - "Had never heard of Massenutten prior to this trip! What a wonderful house with the great amenities of the resort! The area is beautiful! I have never stayed in a cleaner home than this one!" - "We would definitely stay here again. Here are the pros—Cleanliness: Everything was incredibly clean, I would say cleaner than many non-pet-friendly places we’ve stayed. Tubs were in great shape, we didn’t have any hesitation about utilizing jet tubs in bedrooms. Even the bbq grill was clean. Comfort: Plenty of places to sit and relax, comfy couches and chairs on both floors. Mattresses and provided pillows were supportive not too firm or too soft. We slept very well. Amenities: House had everything we needed with some small exceptions(see cons), the game room setup downstairs was a great place to hang out in the evenings. Resort amenities were wonderful. We especially loved the petting farm, highly recommend if you are traveling with little ones who like animals or is something fun to do if adults enjoy petting sheep and goats :) Here are the cons, but there aren’t many— No spices/salt/pepper: One of the great things about VRBO homes is that you can usually find salt pepper and maybe some other spices or cooking oil in the kitchen. This kitchen is very well organized and nicely stocked but it’s clear anything left behind is tossed. Accentuated by the empty salt and pepper shakers nicely arranged on dining table. Not a big deal but come prepared! Dish soap, sponge, dishwasher tabs, trash bags and paper towels are provided with enough to last a long weekend, maybe even a full week. Overall, we had a lovely stay and would love to go back in summer!"

The Washhouse is located on our small farmette in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. Since it was the original wash house it sets near our Victorian home and has been renovated into a quaint and cozy cottage. Ground level entrance and a first floor bedroom and bathroom make this a handicap friendly space.

We offer professional linen cleaning service means no stripping beds at the end of your stay and ensures the cleanest bedding and towels. All linens for bedding, towels and washcloths are provided. Washer and dryer are available.

The home has a driveway that easily accommodates 3 vehicles.

Access: The front door is equipped with an electronic keypad. You will get a unique door code a couple days before check-in, no need to meet anyone for keys.

Children: While our cabin is generally kid friendly, the loft staircases are steep. Please do not allow children to play on the stairs or railings; adults should be present with children in the upper loft area.

Pets: Up to 2 dogs are allowed, for an additional fee, with a total weight of 50 lbs. All dogs need to be registered with the Owner. Contact prior to check-in.

This home is not affiliated with Massanutten Resort. However, it is located inside the community of Massanutten and minutes from skiing, snow and grass tubing, ice skating, two golf courses, indoor/outdoor water park, mountain biking, ziplining, putt-putt, go-karts, tennis, swimming, fishing, parks and more! You'll also have access to 30 miles of hiking trails. The pool is a community pool for the private homes in Massanutten. Tennis courts are also located by the pool. Most Resort activities are available to our guests for an additional fee and should be booked online before your arrival, through Massanutten Resort's website. **Please note due to current COVID-19 decreased capacity restrictions, some activities may sell out in advance, especially on holidays and weekends. We cannot guarantee access to the amenities and amenity closure/availability is not a refundable cancellation reason.**

Visit Rock Ridge View: 1,200 private square feet includes a kitchen, office area, living room, and bathroom – but it’s unlikely you’ll spend much time indoors as the real show piece is the unobstructed views of the fabled Allegheny Mountains. The sky is uninterrupted by lights at night affording star gazing across nearly 20 miles of the Shenandoah Valley. The property sits on 17 acres with walking paths, trees, an orchard with seasonal berries and fruit trees, and a stone patio with chairs to watch the sun tuck into the hills of Western Virginia. We have a smokeless fire pit that can be prepared for you upon request to savor the stillness of sunset and watch for the abundant deer and seasonal birds that call our property home.

The space can accommodate up to 4 guests with 1 King bed and a trundle bed containing two single beds. Kids are always welcome, and we are dog-friendly with plenty of space to run. The unit can accommodate both short and long stays with a washer/dryer and ample parking. We live on the 2 upper floors, and are available to address any needs, and guests have their own private entrance on the lower floor.

House and Parking: When you arrive, you can park in the 2 designated spots in our driveway marked for guests and utilize the newly-installed natural stone walkway with 7 easy steps to the private lower level of the home. The unit has A/C and high-speed WiFi. The space sleeps up to 4 people, and can serve as a quiet getaway for individuals and couples as well. All bed linens and pillows will be provided for you. The bathroom is accessible from the hallway and the bedroom. We provide liquid bath soap, shampoo and conditioner as well as all bath linens. The living room boasts a new 55” smart TV with remote. Feel free to sign in to any of your accounts to watch what you want (NFL, NHL, HBO, MLB, iTunes, Hulu, etc) and remember to sign out when you leave.
Kitchen: The kitchen has a microwave, toaster and Keurig coffee maker for your use. There is a full-sized refrigerator, sink and dishwasher to accommodate longer stays. Though we think Harrisonburg has an exceptional range of dining options (feel free to ask for recommendations) there is a full set of dishes, glassware and utensils for staying in and cooking a cozy meal.
For Coffee & tea drinkers/lovers: There is a selection of K-cups, Sugar, Stevia and there is a pint of half & half in the fridge for you. We provide different kinds of tea bags as well if you prefer.

Outdoors: You can head out to the patio table and chairs in the morning to see the sun come up over the eastern hills. Close by to our home is the walkable community of Park View and you can drive a few miles into Harrisonburg to enjoy more than 15 city parks. To the East, we are 20 minutes to the entrance of Shenandoah National Park. Driving west, we are 10 minutes from the rolling foothills of West Virginia. If you prefer to stay in one place, you can take advantage of our acreage and explore. We live on a hill and our property has many of the large limestone rocks that give Harrisonburg it’s “Rocktown” nickname, so make sure you are able to negotiate some rocky terrain if you decide to take a stroll around our little slice of paradise. We may have sheep and goats on the property when you visit as our neighbor sometimes has them on our land to enjoy the grasses and wildflowers.

Stream-side loft/guest house in lovely forest setting and steps away from trailhead to George Washington National Forest. Peaceful and private, this new, large 720 sq ft (24 by 30) studio is a charming, comfy and secluded getaway. During the day go hiking or just relax. At night open the windows and let the babbling stream and soothing forest sounds lull you to sleep. Just 7/10th of a mile off rt 33 and 11 miles from Harrisonburg. Internet, Netflix. A meditative retreat and home base from which to explore the area.
This newly constructed, secluded, second story Loft (garage below) is about 200' from the main house. It is accessed by a flight of stairs leading to a very small deck overlooking the beautiful stream and woods. At the base of the stairs is a small patio seating area with a gas grill. The loft is equipped with 2 burner hotplate, sink, microwave, fridge, coffee maker, toaster and necessaries for making and serving basic meals. Internet connected. Netflix on smart TV. Bathroom with stall shower. Smoke-free both inside the loft and on the grounds. Sorry, no pets of any kind. The space is set up to sleep two: Individuals and couples only for overnight stays IMPORTANT: Be sure to print off the detailed directions provided further below before you come, as you may lose cell phone coverage in the area (depending on carrier) and your GPS will probably not bring you all the way to the property.
DIRECTIONS: From Harrisonburg take rt. 33 West for approximately 10 miles. Turn left on Rawley Springs rd. Follow this hard surface road for 7/10 mile. At 7/10 of a mile you will come to a small bridge on your right that crosses the stream. There will be a sign that says “Highlands of Rawley Springs” - Don’t go over the bridge! Rather, go straight onto the gravel road. The Loft is first building on right. Go past the loft and park in the TWO-CAR gravel space in front of the big house. Be sure to leave space for a second car. (You are welcome to unload in the parking area by the loft). Welcome!
The Place:
Rawley Springs is a lovely little community of houses and cabins. Our guesthouse is surrounded by forest and therefore apart from the cabins - quite secluded. In the 1800's there was a destination resort hotel here that was renowned for the "healing waters" emerging from the many springs in the area. At the foot of the Allegheny range, and adjacent to hundreds of thousands of acres of GW National Forest, the loft feels a world away from the hustle and bustle. The grounds are planted with azaleas, rhododendrons and day lilies that are spectacular in the spring. Summer is five to ten degrees cooler than Harrisonburg due to the higher elevation, the tree canopy and stream. Great for hiking. Fall foliage is magnificent and is a week ahead of lower elevations in the Shenandoah Valley. Winter is a magical time when the trees are snow covered and the air crisp and clear. The gravel road dead-ends just past the property at a trailhead for the National forest. From the trailhead one could walk for 20 miles into West Virginia and not see another structure (you may have to get your feet wet crossing if the stream is up).
Guest access
Guests are welcome to wander the grounds and garden areas and access the woods and stream for relaxing, meditating, wading, painting, writing or whatever nourishes your spirit. To get down to the stream follow the footpath at the base of the loft stairs along the hillside toward the big house and find the stairs cut into the hillside on your right. Follow the path down along the stream. The path goes back up toward the loft and then back around- perfect for a walking meditation. (Deck off of the back of the main house is reserved for owners).
Guest interaction
We send booked guests a code for accessing the loft on their own. We often do not see our guests unless they contact us in the nearby house if they wish. There are times, however, when we may be traveling ourselves - you can always text with any issues or concerns.
Neighborhood overview
ENJOYING RAWLEY SPRINGS THE PROPERTY: Feel free to wander around the property or hang out in the garden and have a picnic on the grass. In the spring everything is blooming and green, and in the fall all the ground plants are turning brown as the leaves come into full color. Please leave the large back deck off the main house for the use of the owners when they are on the property (we inform guests when we will be away). Otherwise, you are welcome to access the deck at your pleasure. THE STREAM: The stream flows directly out of George Washington National forest. To access the stream, find the path at the bottom of the loft stairs that runs along the embankment toward the big house. Just before the deck of the big house to your right by the woodpile you will find stairs cut into the hillside leading to the lower area and the stream. The stream might be a trickling brook if it’s been dry, or a raging river if there has been a big storm. Most often it is somewhere in between, but be careful – the rocks are always slippery. It’s fun to hang out on the big flat rocks in the middle of the stream directly across from the deck of the loft and have a picnic. If the steam is high enough you may wish to wade or lounge in the pools by the large rocks across from the loft. If you are a fly-fisher, the stream is home to native brook trout (about 6”max). Catch and release please. The path that runs along the stream climbs back up the bank and forms an elliptical walking circuit back along the flat section – great for walking meditation circuit. There are chairs and a bench scattered about for those who just wish to relax in the healing embrace of nature.
GW NATIONAL FOREST: If you face the gravel road and go right, you will quickly come to the end of the road and the beginning of GW National forest. Go straight past the end of the cul-de-sac and you are at the trail head. There is a beautiful little wading pool just steps down from the road, and miles and miles of trails begin just across from the stream. Just over the stream and to the left is a beautiful little picnic spot on the rocks across from a steep rock wall. A really great hang-out spot. The trail into the forest is marked on the trees by yellow squares, and pretty much follows the stream, sometimes crossing over. You can’t get lost if you remember that the stream flows towards home – it will bring you back to the cul-de-sac. The trail presents some really lovely and intimate views and goes for miles and miles. Remember to be back before dark!
JULIET'S TOWER: Also at the end of the cul-de-sac, immediately to the left of the metal bar which marks the head of the trail, will be a path that goes up the side of the steep hill. About 200’ above the road you can hunt around to find the path that runs to your right and eventually to a long, tall, granite wall and on to “Juliet’s Tower" a vertical rock spire. You have to be a good rock climber to get up on the 25' tower itself, but the path along the rock wall is pretty cool too with a nice view. Well worth the effort.
LOWER RAWLEY: If you face the gravel road and turn left you will walk out the way you drove in. It’s a nice walk into the little neighborhood of “Lower Rawley” (see drawing). (By the way - You will pass a bridge over the stream with a sign for “Highlands of Rawley Springs” that is just down from the loft. You can go to the middle of the bridge to get a view, but please don’t go all the way over the bridge and up into that neighborhood- a troll lives under that bridge. There are “residents and guests” only postings, and it’s not worth the hassle anyway to walk up that big hill). Further on down the road, there is a hard-to-see path that is on the left side of the road, just past and above the first big newer house on the left, that leads down into Lower Rawley. Go down that path into Lower Rawley. If you miss it, no worries, just keep going past the mailboxes and little stone spring house and down the hill. Take a hairpin left on Gum Run Trail which brings you into Lower Rawley from the other end. In the 1920’s locals began building cabins in Lower Rawley and you are our guest and therefore free to walk around the troll-free neighborhood and enjoy this pretty area. Gum Run Trail dead-ends at the aforementioned newer house, and the path you missed is now on your left and runs along the fenced-in yard with the chicken coop and big black dog that barks a lot but is harmless. There may be goats in that yard as well. You can pet them. Follow the path up to the paved road and turn right to get back to the loft. In the 1800’s Rawley Springs was a retreat renowned for its “healing waters.". Fires twice destroyed the main hotels that were built – as you walk around you can still see the stone foundations of the hotels above the mailboxes next the small stone springhouse.

The best of the basics was supplied for some great glamping and it is kept super clean. The location is within walking distance to GW National Forest trails for those that like to ramble."

Bridgewater is a 10-mile drive to Harrisonburg/JMU, 23 miles to Downtown Staunton, 14 miles to Massanutten Resort, and 65 miles to Charlottesville Airport. The renovated space is located in the upstairs of a completed remodeled farmhouse. The farmhouse loft space features a large bedroom with two queen beds, a living room, dining room, bathroom and large kitchen with washer/dryer (We can provide an air mattress in the living room for additional sleeping).

The bedroom space features two queen beds with luxurious mattresses and bedding. The bedroom features a large wardrobe and smart TV. The living room features a sofa and love seat, desk, and smart TV so you can enjoy your favorite show or big game! TV includes Netflix, YouTube TV, HULU, and prime TV. The beautiful loft is close to North River where you can enjoy fishing and kayaking. The space is also approx. 30 miles from Shenandoah River. Luray and Endless Caverns are less than an hour away. Massanutten resort is a 14-mile drive. Massanutten resort features skiing/tubing/and water park! The Natural Chimneys is approx. 10-minute drive.

This cabin is located in the heart of the Massanutten Resort community which boasts indoor water park, rec centers with pool and hot tub, gyms, trails, fishing, golfing, and so much more! Cedar Cabin features 1.5 bathrooms, each freshly renovated with cleanliness and modernity in mind. Transformed from the garage, the game room at Cedar Cabin is a fantastic space for entertainment and relaxation. A comfortable 2 chairs provides a cozy spot to relax, and a TV is available for those who prefer to watch their favorite shows or sports games. stocked games shelve along with some books. This room is designed as a casual hangout area where guests can unwind and enjoy some indoor fun, making it a great addition to the cabin’s amenities.

**Office Area**
For those needing to stay connected or get work done during their vacation, Cedar Cabin offers a fully equipped office area. • JMU is 3-4miles (no bus stop nearby).
• The apartment is fairly well handicap accessible except for one step.

The place is perfect for traveling nurses.

There is a ping pong table in the garage, but it may not be available to get to at times.

The bed is a bunk bed and a queenbed. Can sleep 5 people very cozily.

Guests can use the computer near kitchen, it erases everything during logout, but Please be advised that there can be a camera in the dining room by the computer for security reasons and to recharge it. That is the only indoor camera I have.

I have a Tesla 40-50 amp charger or an RV plug in with no water/Drainage hook up.


The 70” TV:
There is no cable on the TV, just Netflix, Amazon, Apple TV etc.
Checking before 3:30 let me know so that we can make sure that it is ready by then, thank you.

I probably won’t stay there most work days, but there is family living on the second floor that you may occasionally run into.

There is central heating and cooling in the house but the thermostat is upstairs, but there is a split unit outside the room that you can control by remote(located by the bedroom door). To control the temp in the room quickly you may have to open your bedroom door for little bit(because the heater/ac is outside the bedroom door.

Also, this household does not wear masks, sorry.

We are very close to I81 (3 blocks), JMU (2 blocks), and downtown Harrisonburg (1.5 miles). Several good restaurants are within walking distance from our house.

Purcell Park is 3 blocks from our home and offers walking and biking trails.

We are an active family living upstairs. Some noise transfer is inevitable. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays we watch our 2 year old granddaughter so you may hear toddler laughter and the pitter patter of little feet.

We are conscientious of our guests and follow a 10PM - 7AM quiet time. We ask that our guests do the same.

You’ll love my place because of the quiet, scenic location. Plane View's in the heart of the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. We're across the runway from Shenandoah Regional Airport and within 30 minutes of Skyline Drive. There's hiking, white water rafting & Civil War sites nearby. We're 2 hours from Washington DC and Richmond. We have 360 degree mountain views. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families (w/kids). No wifi, no pets.
