We built our forever home on one acre in the lovely town of Crozet! We met while attending the University of Virginia and we got married and lived in Charlottesville after graduating. We spend a lot of time in the nearby area of Afton along Route 151 going on hikes, visiting the local breweries and vineyards - all the things we recommend to our guests to do! We not only own the spaces that we rent out to our amazing guests but we spend time in those spaces as a family. We built and remodeled our properties and take a lot of pride in them to attract our guests to our little slice of heaven in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. We live with our children and two Irish Doodles (Blue & Ridge) adjacent to The Barn at Haden in our farmhouse.

Downtown Crozet is less than 1/2 mile (walkable with sidewalks the entire way) with many options for food and activities to choose. With a sidewalk accessed community and neighborhood around us it is easy to go out the door for a jog in the neighborhood or a stroll or bike downtown (bike lanes accessible but bikes are not provided). The Barn at Haden is located in a suburban neighborhood at the end of a dead-end street.

Guests will have access to the entire apartment that offers free high speed internet via WIFI. There is an assigned parking spot in the driveway for guests and if traveling with more than one vehicle, we do have additional off street parking areas in our driveway.

Please indicate if you do not need the 2nd bedroom set up as a bedroom. It will always be set up as a bedroom unless you inform us a week prior to your stay if you would not like the 2nd bed to be set up if you intend on using that room differently or want it open.

There is a unique code to access the front door lock. You will receive your custom code that will be good for the duration of your stay. There is no need for us to meet you to let you in and you can arrive/depart whenever you would like to. Our primary home is on the property. There is an open breezeway that connect our primary home to this space. You will see us coming and going and sometimes activity going on in the driveway. This is not a remote location. It is in a suburban neighborhood. It is located on a dead end street and vehicle traffic is very minimal.

There are two studio loft apartments on the second level of our building. The ground level is commercial space occupied by our real estate office, Stevens & Company. There are 21 fairly steep steps to the second level.

The second level was once a toy store and was renovated in 2005 into two apartments. Our studio apartment features an open living area separated into sitting area with sofa and comfy chair and sleeping area with queen-size bed. There is a wide-screen HDTV with Comcast Xfinity and local channels and wireless high-speed internet.

The full kitchen is open to the rest of the apartment and features a full-size refrigerator, stove and microwave. Stocked with dishes, glasses and cookware.

There is a full bath with stand-up shower. Towels, toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner and soap are provided.

The building is a very short distance from the train tracks that pass through Crozet.

Spacious remodeled 1906 traditional farmhouse on a fenced acre of private sanctuary located a short walk from downtown Crozet (galleries, restaurants, coffee shops, yoga). A short drive to hiking, orchards, vineyards, and breweries. 20 mins to Charlottesville (UVA Hospital, Monticello.) Max 3 pairs of people and an additional child. We offer our home to groups that can use the layout we have: a King, a Queen, and either the floor futon in the boys room or the pullout sofa double in the study, plus any pack-and-play you need for infants. - "Great communication w manager, super clean and comfortable. Our family rented 3 of the 4 units on this floor for a family wedding held nearby and we all found it very comfortable. In fact, we found the beds so comfortable we clamored to purchase the mattresses (I love mine!). Close to a breakfast restaurant (terrible service there!) and a cute coffee shop. I recommend this place wholeheartedly. I would book again if I wanted to visit for hiking in the Shenandoahs of had another reason to be in the area (looking at you UVA visitors!). The Neighborhood:
Mountain features scenic views whether you're driving up to the house or exploring by foot. See the Blue Ridge Mountains from all different angles during your ascent. The mountain also features an award wining winery, Stone Mountain Vineyards.

Getting Around:
Use your personal vehicle to get around the mountain. Parking at property can accommodate up to 4 cars.

Other Things to Note:
-We like guests to know that the drive ends with a 3 mile ascent up a gravel road. While it is a well maintained road, we require 4-wheel drive in the winter months as the weather on the mountain can be unpredictable. 2-wheel drive vehicle can work in non-winter months as long as it has reasonable road clearance. Please keep in mind that the road is windy and steep in certain areas.

-This Cabin is on top of a mountain and surrounded by a variety of wildlife as it is very close to Shenandoah National Park. During certain times of the year, the area will have lady bugs and stink bugs.

- "We had a fabulous stay. It was quiet, remote, and had stunning views. Exactly what I needed to get away and unplug!" - "We stayed for a week. Had an absolutely amazing time. The house is awesome. The views are incredible. Everything we needed was provided which is really nice. There are nice dishes and even lunch (plastic) dishes. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything we only had to buy our groceries. The host was very responsive with any questions. There are a few ways up the mountain as mentioned we enjoyed them all. We have a Audi Q5 all wheel drive did fine. My son came up in his car and took the easier route and was fine. We loved everything about this stay and house. Internet is STRONG as well which my husband loved as he did have to work a day or two and had no issues."

Quaint basement studio apt and beautiful area. Enjoyed making coffee with freshly grounded beans that were left at the small coffee station. My daughter and I shared the studio apt for a quick mom/daughter weekend. I am guessing we may of been the first or first of few to stay here. Whole area seemed re-done and new. Maybe extra blankets and pillows would be an added benefit but all the minimal extras were nice. VERY CUTE Fridge and Microwave....I'm a sucker for retro items."

Our property is designed specifically for guests. While we do not live on the property, we are available by phone, email, and iMessage. Our office is located on The Square in Crozet (a short walk) and we live in nearby Sugar Hollow.

Located on Carter Street in Crozet, our house is literally steps away from The Square in Crozet where you can find the Mudhouse, Crozet Hardware, Fardowners, Crozet Pharmacy, a library, Piedmont Place, Crozet Bicycle Shop and more. Our house is also within walking distance to Crozet Park with multiple walking trails - paved and unpaved, 2 dog parks, tennis courts, 2 playgrounds, and baseball fields. Golf at Old Trail is 2 miles or 6 minutes by car.

The Cottage at Walnut Lawn is a traditional country cottage. This fully furnished 3 bedroom/1 bathroom house is located on a Historic horse & cattle Farm in Albemarle County. The views are amazing & it is located in the middle of wine (short walk to Grace Estate Winery directly across the rd.) country, & just moments from Star Hill Brewery, & the amenities and services of the quaint town of Crozet, VA.

The Cottage at Walnut Lawn was built in the 1900’s and served as a guest house for the estate home at Walnut Lawn Farm. This up to date house complete with, in house laundry facilities, full kitchen, full bath, High Speed Internet service, (wifi) and large flat screen tv. and private deck overlooking the Historic Barn and Carriage House as well as pastures completes your private relaxing space.

Guests can enjoy the space and tranquility of one of Albemarle County’s Historic Horse farms. Walk around on the private trail network, enjoy the spring fed creek and pond, or just sit back and enjoy the peace and quiet of the private deck. We do ask that you do not feed the horses or dogs.

If you are looking for a breakfast sandwich in the morning the local spots are Wyant’s Store (a true local convenience store with yummy made to order breakfast sandwiches) or Whistle Stop (the yummy greasy spoon diner in Crozet) the best Sunday brunch is Fardowners. Smoked has the best BBQ and the Crozet Creamery has the best ice cream. Our local pizza joints are Crozet Pizza and they have a fun bar type atmosphere as well as Sals Pizza which is more family friendly (less of a bar scene) Restoration is another yummy local option. They serve up wonderful lunch and dinner.

We are surrounded by amazing wineries and breweries. There should be a few pamphlets on the kitchen island with information on the “Brew Ridge Trail” and another clever “trail for wine” that I can’t seem to think of... but a few wineries that are within 5 minutes of us are:

Another great wine and beer tasting idea is the Crozet Trolley! It’s a fun local Trolley that takes you from Winery to Winery or Brewery to brewery depending on what you choose. I hope this helps. It was also easy to get to Charlottesville and many hiking locations. It is a beautiful location!" - "Such a great little find in the heart of Crozet! Located on a horse farm on 100+ acres with three large barns, walking trails, and a large pond with a dock plus canoe or kayaks for our use. The owner Emily was very responsive, warm, and friendly! My husband and I spent a week there celebrating our anniversary - very close to wineries and breweries in Crozet, Afton, Charlottesville area. It has a wood fireplace which we used a couple of times, very charming, rustic place - a perfect stay!"

With a large dining room table, open kitchen and several sitting areas, Spring Cove House is an ideal place to entertain a large group or to relax and enjoy a peaceful family evening. The main level has a full kitchen equipped with stainless steel appliances and all the cooking supplies necessary to create delicious meals. The screened in porch opens to a deck with a pergola, fan, and festive lights for outdoor enjoyment. Just off the sitting area is a den with a sleeper sofa, which can be converted into a comfortable full bed complete with a regular full mattress. There's a half bath and laundry room right next to the den.

Upstairs, there are three large bedrooms and two bathrooms: a primary bedroom with a king bed and en suite with a garden tub, step-in shower, and a spacious walk-in closet; a second bedroom with a queen bed; and a third bedroom with a queen bed. The hallway has a full bathroom with a shower and bathtub.

The basement level has a large bedroom with a king bed, a full bathroom, and a large living area with a wet bar complete with microwave, cabinets, and an eating/craft area. There is a full size futon in the large sitting area. This room leads to an outdoor covered patio with a beautiful outdoor wood burning fireplace, ceiling fans, and a large fenced in backyard with a mountain view to enjoy any time of the year.

THIS MOUNTAIN PROPERTY IS SEVERAL MILES UP A STEEP, GRAVEL ROAD. Daylight arrival is highly recommended. 4x4 or AWD is recommended (the owners drive 2WD sedans but are experienced on the difficult road). Plenty of on-property parking (6+); however, please use caution and turn around only in the designated U-turn areas.

Our mountain community is very private but also very isolated. Please note that the nearest gas station is 20 minutes away (don't worry--the nearest winery is only 5 minutes away).
Unlike other rentals in the area, the site is truly in the wilderness and shared with wildlife. Because of the location, animals frequent the grounds, including but not limited to hawks, frogs/toads, hummingbirds, lizards, wood-peckers, field-mice, snakes (black, hognose, copperheads, rattlers, and more), buzzards, possums, deer, bats, spiders, bugs and other insects including millipedes, moths and monarch butterflies, and the occasional bear or bobcat. Please note that, sometimes, animals may make their way into the house. This is usually due to doors and screens being left open. Please keep doors and screens closed and stay on walking paths and in manicured gardens.

The space
This listing comes with two sweet tiny cottages that can accommodate up to three guests. There is a queen bed in the main bedroom suite (cottage #2) and a single futon bed in cottage 1. Children and infants are always welcome. Please let us know if your group exceeds three guests.

The first cottage is a sitting room/ office and bathroom. There is a twin futon that serves as an extra single bed. There are west facing and east facing windows so you can celebrate and enjoy both the sunset and sunrise each day. The cottage is furnished with a small library, a mini fridge, and a small antique cabinet. There are two tables and four chairs. We will bring breakfast and any other meals you order to this cottage.

There is a full bathroom in first cottage with fresh towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner and body wash.

Please note that the bathroom is connected to a septic system which contains living organisms that digest and process waste. Do not put harsh chemicals, antibacterial soaps, or grease down the drain or toilet. Do not flush paper towels, sanitary products, etc, basically anything that isn't toilet paper.

Across the driveway is the second cottage which is the main bedroom with a queen size bed. We love the large floor to ceiling picture window which reveals our meditation pond and the Blue Ridge Mountains in the distance. There is a smaller dresser and a desk set against the window with the view of the garden and first cottage.

Both cottages are light-filled with beautiful views of rolling hills, and mountains.

Please note that there is only ONE BATHROOM located in the first cottage. Any additional guests in your group will need to share the bathroom in cottage 1.

This is a working farm. We live and work on this farm. While we respect your privacy, you may see us working outside, and our animals grazing in the fields, and by the cottages. Our focus has been designing a creative, inspiring, and functional space for our guests, while maintaining a sustainable agricultural operation.

We have a zipline and a treehouse in the woods. Zipline use and tree house use are at your own risk.

There is no kitchen. There is a small fridge in the first cottage. We will provide a farm breakfast on request free of charge. We have a seasonal menu of hot soup, salad and appetizers from our kitchen for light snacks/lunch/dinner. Please arrange meal request with host prior to stay. There are two country stores/delis within a 15 minutes drive, and many excellent restaurants in Charlottesville within a 30 minutes drive. Please check out our local guidebook for more details.

Enjoy a cozy getaway at our centrally-located carriage house, in the heart of sought-after Crozet, VA. Completely renovated in 2022, the carriage house feels brand new! Our space offers 1 queen bed and 1 full-bed pull-out couch.

Blue Fox Cottage is a charming and cozy 3-bedroom house located on a 260-acre working farm in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Relax on the covered back porch and enjoy pristine views, or set off on foot to explore the natural beauty with walking access to a trail leading to the Shenandoah National Park and Doyle’s River waterfalls. Visit nearby attractions such as UVA (30 m) or Thomas Jefferson's Monticello (40 m), as well as orchards, wineries, breweries, and distilleries in this scenic area.

The space
Your cottage is located on a farm that has grazing cows from about mid April to the end of fall/early winter. There are several fields with fences and gates, so the cows have access to different areas of the farm at different times.

Guest access
The house and yard are yours to enjoy. If you choose to walk on the fields please leave the gates open that you find open and close the gates that you find closed. The cows are shy. It is ok to walk in the field they are in but they might not be approachable too close. Please respect them.
Do not enter the barn. Most importantly, be advised that:

Other things to note
Views to the Shenandoah National Park with the closest Skyline Drive Entrance about 22 miles (30 minutes) away. The Patricia Ann Byrom Forest Preserve Park is only 2.5 miles down the road and allows Mountain Biking. The closest grocery stores, restaurants, and coffee shops are located in the cute little town of Crozet (20 minutes). Charlottesville (30 minutes) is a cultural hub with a beautiful University and walkable downtown mall, theaters, concert venues, and many good restaurants.

A wooden fence separates the yard around the house from the cattle pasture. However, this is not an entirely fenced-in yard and would not keep a dog in.

Downstairs is a primary bedroom with a king-size bed and an attached bathroom with a shower, sink, toilet, and a small washer and dryer. This bedroom has its own heater by the light switch to the right when you enter the room. The shower-bathroom adjacent also has a small heater. If you use this heater, please remember to turn it off after usage of the bathroom.
The second smaller bedroom features a queen bed and is situated next to a second bathroom with a bathtub.

The lofted, wood-paneled upstairs bedroom has another king-size bed, a reading nook, and a small desk.

The kitchen is fully equipped, and a gas grill can be found outside on the covered back porch. Please turn the gas on (and off after usage) at the gas bottle.

A series of doors in the kitchen, dining room, and living room provide access to the back porch.

The living room, which features a cathedral ceiling and a picture window, is furnished with a comfortable L-shaped couch and a Roku TV.

There is no cell service in the area, but you will be able to connect your phone to the Wi-Fi.

Please be aware that this area has stink bugs. You might find the occasional stink bug on a wall or floor despite our best efforts to keep the house free of them.

The road is windy and steep in some areas, but our mountain-top views are nothing short of spectacular! Please take note that the last part of the drive to the Guesthaus ends with a 5-mile ascent up a gravel road. The road is well-maintained, but four/all-wheel drive, SUVs, or similar vehicles are recommended. When you reach your destination, you won't be disappointed!

The Guesthaus is so worth the drive with the best views on the mountain! And you can make the drive the adventure!! Take your time and take pictures along the way. Stop at the Stone Mountain Winery for snacks or lunch on your way up - more views to enjoy!

-We like guests to know that the drive ends with a 3 mile ascent up a gravel road. While it is a well maintained road, we require 4-wheel drive in the winter months as the weather on the mountain can be unpredictable. 2-wheel drive vehicle can work in non-winter months as long as it has reasonable road clearance. Please keep in mind that the road is windy and steep in certain areas.

-This Cabin is on top of a mountain and surrounded by a variety of wildlife as it is very close to Shenandoah National Park. During certain times of the year, the area will have lady bugs and stink bugs.

Welcome to Mission Home Rd. Retreat nestled in the bottom of a Blue Ridge hollow. Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. Great place for fall colors and great location! 30 minutes from CHO airport; 40 minutes to Charlottesville/Crozet; four top notch wineries within 15 minutes and plenty more within 30, check websites for food trucks; house on popular biking circuit 628/810; 10 minutes to AT hiking.

The space
The house - recently renovated 1940's farmhouse, 1550 SF, three bed, two full bathrooms, full kitchen, and separate dining room. Stand up shower on first floor and freestanding tub with valley views on the second. The primary bedroom has a TV with queen bed and book nook. The other two bedrooms have double/full sized beds.

The open concept kitchen and family room is a great place to gather with an oversized island and a "Harry Potter" understairs office/laptop desk. Spill out onto the front porch to relax in rocking chairs and wave to the cows and locals driving by (the road is close to the house but the community is super friendly, you will see volunteer workers from the nearby Mission Home for kids). There are two-way privacy blinds on every window.

The dining room currently includes a 6 person live edge table and a side chess table with two leather chairs. If nice dinners for larger groups are planned, with a few days notice we could turn it into a full dining room.

The grounds - 3 acres of mostly mowed yard that you will have full access to walk around and take in the different viewpoints of the surrounding mountains. Create some extra steps by walking up the charming gravel road along the active farm of the nearby mission. We love doing this with our pups every time we stay there. The area is rocky so please watch your step and we recommend wearing decent hiking shoes.

Biking - while we aren't bikers yet, we always see bikers and think this would be a great place for avid road bikers. There appears to be a nice loop 628/810. There is mountain biking in the area. We have a garage to park the bikes, currently does not have a door yet.

Bonus Skyline Drive and AT access - 10 minutes up the mountain there is a ranger road and on foot only entrance to the Shenandoah National Park. Check the park rules as you may need a pass on you. We will leave detailed directions in the guest book.

There are several buildings on the three acres.
Two story block house where you will be staying. Four barns/sheds that are not available to guests. One log cabin (under construction, coming soon) not available to guests. You are more than welcome to walk everywhere and cross the spring fed stream, the property boundaries are marked by fencing and road.

Other things to note
Great high speed internet/WIFI but NO CELL PHONE SERVICE in the area. The WiFi can reach into the yard or we have two walkie talkies in the house. The nearest cell phone reception is 5 minutes up flat top mountain, directions will be in check in guide.

We have recently renovated and as of July ‘24 are still trying to make it perfect. It’s a 3 acre, modest farmhouse in the flat part of a hollow. We are still working on the garage and log cabin, we will try and make these as sightly as possible. Please have patience as with us as we start this as an airbnb.

Being it’s a 1940s farmhouse in the mountains, with a spring fed pond onsite, and being across from a very charming cow farm, native bugs may be in the area depending on the season.

The outbuildings are not open to the guests. The log cabin is a construction zone currently and is not open to guests.

• The pool and hot tub are seasonal. Use is at your own risk. All adult guests (and visitors) must sign a liability waiver before using them, and follow posted safety rules (no jumping/diving, no glass, swim diapers required, etc.).

• No Events are allowed. Small gatherings with non-registered guests require prior approval and may incur additional fees. Unauthorized gatherings may result in cancellation or penalty fees (see House Rules).

• The maximum number of overnight guests is 8. A $100 per night fee applies for each additional guest with prior approval.

• The “management fee” listed at checkout is actually a $35 Accidental Damage Waiver, covering up to $350 in minor, unintentional damage (like a spill or broken dish). No stress—just let us know if anything happens during.

Welcome to the Orso Blu Guesthouse at Orso Blu Farm, a working lavender farm in the heart of Crozet and the Blue Ridge Mountains. This one-of-a-kind guesthouse's architecture and decor are modeled after Italian Alpine homes. The natural fir floors will envelop you with their warmth and the views will take your breath away. The home features a main level living room, bedroom and bath. The bedroom has a king bed and a full, en suite bath with a large shower. The upstairs loft has a queen bed. Both beds have memory foam mattresses. The washer and dryer are located in the loft. The downstairs has an optional queen sleeper sofa, dining table which accommodates 4 guest and a full bathroom with shower. The sleeper sofa is very comfortable: there is no uncomfortable middle bar.
You will park right in front of the entrance door to the lower level. Your entry code will only work on this door.
Please note the home has stairs from the lower level to the main level and from the main level to the loft.
