Directly behind the cabin is the Sleepy Creek Wildlife Management Area: nearly 23,000 acres of old growth forest that’s full of wildlife. You’ll wake up every morning to hear the birds chirping and chipmunks chattering away – and we often see deer, foxes, rabbits, turkeys, and even the occasional bear. If you’re looking to get out of the city and recharge in nature, this is the perfect place. (And the best part is you’re only 15 minutes from town!)

Beyond the cabin itself, the Hedgesville / Berkeley Springs area is great for so many reasons -- and Mountain Laurel is just a short drive to everything. The Woods is one of the top golf courses in the state, with a wonderful spa, hiking trails, and a restaurant/pub as well. And the town of Berkeley Springs has been voted one of the top arts communities in the US, with dozens of shops and restaurants, and even a brewery and winery!

This chalet overlooks the golf course through the trees. This home features a queen bedroom downstairs and a loft king bedroom upstairs. The king bedroom is open, overlooking the gorgeous floor-to-ceiling windows that span both stories. There is a bonus sunroom that receives sunlight all day long with a trundle bed featuring two twin mattresses. Off the bonus room is a screened-in porch with a ceiling fan, perfect for watching the deer and other wildlife with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine.

We highly recommend that you download the Merlin Bird Id app during your stay as these woods are rich with wildlife! While we also fully recommend disconnecting from all technology, we also offer high speed wifi as well as a smart tv for a cozy movie night in or those days that you need to work from home.

The town of Berkeley Springs has been voted one of the top arts communities in the US; the shopping, spa, and restaurant scene does not disappoint!

A quiet sanctuary, The Nest Chalet provides relaxation, privacy, the outdoors and quality time with friends and family, with a break from the day-to-day hustle and bustle.

At The Nest, guests will enjoy:

- A light-filled space with central AC/heating and a spacious Loft and Master Bedroom. Both rooms have sky lights and big windows (this means sunshine comes through in the morning).

- The Master is on the main floor. It includes a private work space and porch, making The Nest perfect to enjoy a break from the office, while working remotely for the week. We upgraded our home to include satellite internet and are delighted that guests can check email, browse the internet, stream and video conference as needed.

-The Loft is spacious and airy, featuring a Queen size bed as well as a Korean-style full bed. The loft includes a window to star gaze from and a portable crib for infants.

- A modern, fully stocked kitchen with microwave, oven, InstantPot, Ninja Blender, toaster, coffee/tea, pots and pans, olive oil, and a well stocked spice rack. We strive to provide quality dishes, knives, glasses and utensils, as well as kid-friendly plastic plates and cups.

- A large communal deck that includes a Weber Grill and Polywood outdoor dining table with umbrella to have delicious meals and take in the outdoors on a beautiful day.

- Board games, books, smart television and fast WiFi in case you want some cozy time indoors.

- Clean linens and fresh towels as well as complimentary shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and other products in case you forget yours at home.

Summer is here at The Nest! Wake up to deer curiously grazing in our yard and gorgeous birds between the trees. Our large yard is also perfect for games and to stretch your legs.

West Virginia's outdoors is incredible this time of year. For hiking, water sports, horseback riding, fishing and scenic trips in historical WV, this is the time of year to explore and enjoy all of the wonderful WV has to offer. We hope you come out to enjoy it!

****A Little About Our Location****

The Nest Chalet is located in a quiet neighborhood on a 5-acre wooded property, so people can truly enjoy privacy and the natural beauty of this place.

The drive up from Virginia (coming from Winchester) or West Virginia (coming from Martinsburg) is gorgeous in either direction, with tree-lined roads and a couple family-owned wineries on one side, and big farms and apple orchards on the other!

For planning purposes, the closest grocery store is DG Market on Apple Harvest Drive and it is an 8-minute drive from our home. The closest town with gas stations, grocery stores, and food options is Inwood and is about an 15-minute drive from our home. Neighboring Martinsburg has grocery stores, restaurants and a cute downtown area. It is about 16 miles from our home and a 25-minute drive.

****Getting Around****

You will need a car. Most times of year, any car will be just fine getting up here.

During the winter (November - February), if it is snowing, we strongly recommend 4-wheel drive (and chains for your tires).

Our neighborhood has gravel roads, so please do drive slowly.

We have plenty of space for parking on the property.

If you’re coming from DC, there is a MARC train that comes into Martinsburg once a day. Our home is a 25-minute drive from the train station.

Beyond the cabin itself, we’re a short drive away from three main destinations in West Virginia: Berkeley Springs (with great shops and restaurants), Harpers Ferry (for river rafting and Civil War history), and Winchester (the closest of the three, with tons of restaurants and breweries). And of course, there are many good hiking trails nearby too!

- "Words cannot express the experience we had at this beautiful cabin. They just would not do it justice, but I am going to try. Driving to the cabin, in the neighborhood, you feel a sense of serenity and peace. The neighborhood seems like a family place. Full of love and joy. Ample parking is provided at the cabin. The excitement amplified as we see a fire pit and what our view will be from the porch. We open the door to an absolutely clean and fresh smelling cabin. We arrived at dusk, which made our view out the large windows even more beautiful than the pictures on the site portrayed. We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed every second of our time in the cabin. We went grocery shopping at the food lion 14 min away, and just had a perfectly quiet retreat in the home. My two complaints, I couldn’t stay longer…and I couldn’t find a pen to sign the guest book. I am almost wary of writing a good review… because soon enough I won’t be able to afford to come back again. We are already planning our return trip with our kids and fur babies."

Our cabin is located in The Woods Resort, a private community with an 18-hole golf course (with low green fees), spa, a restaurant and pub, and miles of walking/hiking trails. It’s considered the best course in the area, and the pub food is pretty great too.

Beyond The Woods Resort, there’s plenty to do just a short drive away:
- Love the outdoors? Berkeley Springs State Park is home to a mineral spa that has been in use since colonial times. The park is renowned for its warm spring water, which flows at a constant temperature of 74.3 degrees. (15 min drive away)
- A little further away is Cacapon State Park a 6,000 + acre nature park great for hiking and exploring (about 25 minutes away)
- Looking for good restaurants & shopping? A short drive to Berkeley Springs Brewery, wineries, tea room, cafes, donut shop, art galleries - lots of local favorites
- In the summer, head out for a day of fishing, hiking, a round of golf or get on the water – you’ll find a little something for everyone (about 20 mins away)

This area of West Virginia has so much to offer, and Amber Woods is the perfect place – whether you want to explore the area, or just cozy up around the fire and take in the sunsets. We’d love to host you!

- "We enjoyed our stay very much. The house was clean and comfortable. The host provided everything we needed. We loved the location and getting to use the hot tub. The hot tub was also cloudy and foaming, which indicates a chemical imbalance or dirty water (I’m inclined to believe chemical imbalance in This case). I alerted the property manager, and I was told a handyman would come the following day - no one came. I spent the 2 night stay with no kitchen water- luckily it was just me so I was able to manage. Upon checkout the manager did offer a partial refund. Which I thought was appropriate. The cabin was cute and generally clean. The carpet in the living room has a dog urine smell and the house could use a more thorough cleaning because of the dog hair. It kept sticking to my clothes and ended up on everything I brought in with me.Overall, cabin is very nice and ideal for a couple. Would stay again."

- "Everything was amazing !" - "Cabin was very clean and offered many sleeping areas. It was pet friendly although a fenced backyard would be nice. The flashlight located in the hallway was most helpful when letting them out at night. I would place a sign in the shower about pulling the ring down to get the water to come out through the shower. The window unit air conditioners were adequate for a June visit but probably not July or August. I was never able to receive the manual in my email. The key boxes should have the same code. I would definitely come back. "

We often take our three little kids and dog to the cottage with us, so we're very family- and dog-friendly. Unfortunately we don't allow cats (we're allergic).

Beyond the cabin itself, we love how close to everything we are. We're nestled in the Cacapon Mountains, 15 minutes from Cacapon Resort State Park and popular overlooks. The park is free to enter, and has a ton of activities -- including a lake and beach, clay shooting, horseback riding, an 18-hole golf course, and miles of hiking trails.

Please be advised you have rented a mountainous property. AWD or 4X4 is recommended. The main and secondary roads are usually paved. However, there are many side roads that are gravel or hard-packed dirt surfaces. You may experience potholes, ruts, steep inclines, and rough terrain. Most front-wheel drive vehicles have no trouble accessing the property from these roads if you drive safely and slowly. We do not recommend low-profile vehicles such as sports cars or motorcycles. During inclement weather such as snow or ice, you may be required to have 4-wheel drive or tire chains. We also recommend Travel Insurance during the winter months. We do not give refunds for road conditions that are out of our control.

Our cleaning team sweeps the deck, stairs, and walkways before each arrival, but due to the natural setting, you may still notice some leaves, pollen, or similar—especially during certain seasons. We appreciate your understanding as nature tends to leave its mark, no matter how often we tidy up!

The space
This 5 bedroom, 5.5 bath retreat is perfect for your family, friends or small group getaway. Each bedroom has a private bath with access to a deck. Enjoy 2 living areas, 3 fireplaces and a gaming area with air hockey and foosball.

Beyond the chalet itself, we love how close to everything we are -- particularly the on-site community where you’ll have access to tennis courts, basketball court, and a rec field. There are also miles of hiking trails that run throughout the community.

Please Note: While the neighborhood community does have a pool, unfortunately, it is not available for use by Blue Maple guests. While the pool is off-limits, we’re happy to recommend nearby swimming spots, parks, or other fun local attractions if you’re looking to cool off or relax!

Great Cacapon State Park and the historic town of Berkeley Springs are both just a short drive away. The park is free to enter and has miles of hiking trails, a beach and small lake, golf course, horse stables, and a clay shooting range. The town of Berkeley Springs has been voted one of the top arts communities in the US; the shopping, spa, and restaurant scene does not disappoint!

At Dandelion Lodge, you're in a beautiful area of the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia, surrounded by scenic nature, historic attractions, and outdoor activities. Here are some great things to do nearby:

1. Coolfont Resort (distance from house - less than 1 mile): A relaxing atmosphere and opportunities for hiking and enjoying nature. The resort also has a spa and wellness center if you're in the mood for a massage or a rejuvenating day of pampering. Enjoy a night out at the Coolfont Treetop Restaurant!

2. Berkeley Springs Brewing Company (distance from house - less than 1 mile): After a day of exploring, relax at Berkeley Springs Brewing Company, where you can sample craft beer made right in the area and listen to live music. It’s a cozy spot to unwind and chat with locals and the best part is you can walk back to the chalet from there!.

3. Berkeley Springs State Park (distance from house - 10 mins): One of the most famous attractions in the area. Known for its natural warm springs, the park features historic bathhouses where you can relax in mineral-rich waters. The park also has lovely walking paths, a gazebo, and a beautiful pond.

4. Cacapon Resort State Park (distance from house - 10 mins): Hiking, picnicking, and stunning views of the Appalachian Mountains. It’s an excellent place for outdoor activities like hiking, golf, and wildlife watching. If you're looking for a peaceful retreat, the park’s Cacapon Mountain trail provides an excellent hike with panoramic views.

5. The Ice House (distance from house - 10 mins): A local arts center that features art galleries, performances, and workshops. It's a great spot to view works by local artists and see community events.

6. Historic Downtown Berkeley Springs (distance from house - 10 mins): Charming and full of unique shops, art galleries, and locally-owned restaurants. It's a great place to spend a day browsing and exploring. Be sure to check out Berkeley Springs Antique Mall for unique finds and local antiques.

Welcome to The Lookout on Snowshoe. This beautiful five bedroom, 2600 sqft home has a wide open floor plan great for entertaining and multi-family groups. With three levels atop Snowshoe Mountain, this west facing home has stunning views of the valley from its double level deck. It is beautiful all year long, and each season produces its own version of the breathtaking view! Park your car in the driveway and walk or take the free shuttle anywhere on the mountain.

The space
This house has:

- Bedroom Two: Queen size bed with Roku TV on second floor
- Bedroom Three: Queen size bed with Roku TV on second floor
- Bedroom Four: King size bed with Roku TV on bottom floor

We think the house is most comfortable with 12 people, but if you don't mind being cozy, it can sleep up to 18.

Sit on either level of the large decks with mountain views and soak in the incredible sights. There's nearly always deer, you can hear and see our little stream most of the year, and we've even seen a few black bears! Relax on the outdoor sofa by the fire pit and make s'mores, sit at the outdoor table to enjoy your morning coffee, or have a glass of wine while you take in the unbeatable sunset. If the weather keeps you indoors, we have a gas fireplace in the main floor living room that makes the space incredibly cosy to curl up in and watch Netflix, read a book, or play a game.


For indoor entertainment, we have a ton of board games - if we're missing one you love let us know! We have Catan, codenames, monopoly, scrabble, chess, jenga, sorry, clue, and obviously a standard pack of playing cards. There are five TVs with Rokus (bring your own streaming account log ins!), two in the living areas and three in bedrooms, a Sonos speaker, reading areas with books for both adults and kids, and a foosball table.
You won't want for things to do when at home, however Snowshoe has so much to offer just outside your door. The skiing and snowboarding are famous for good reason, and other winter activities include night skiing and tubing at Silver Creek. There are incredible hiking trails on over 11,000 acres - see if you can find Narnia! Take a dip at Split Rock Pools, or Shaver's Lake is just at the bottom of Ballhooter lift and has a beach, regular and standing paddleboats, canoes, kayaks, and inflatables. There are playgrounds, disc golf, lovely hiking trails and a restaurant. The area is also famous for its mountain bike trails, with lessons for beginners. There are scenic lift rides, horseback riding, fishing, yoga, a bike park and off road 4 wheelers to rent. Raven golf club is just down the road for any avid golfers. Please note the pool in the listing refers to the communal pools at Split Rock, available with a Fun Pass or $15 per person/per day.

We aim for the kitchen to be as well stocked as possible with anything you might need. We have basic spices, olive oil, coffee and creamer, as well as a Keurig, coffee pot, toaster oven and normal toaster. There is a gas grill on the upper deck for your use as well, we just ask that you clean it afterwards. We kept Thanksgiving in mind when accounting for cookware, and we have two large and three small crock pots to make your life as easy as possible - spend the day on the mountain and come home to a hot dinner for the whole group. The kitchen area seats large groups - the table seats 10, there is a high top for two, the island has stools for four, and the upper deck has a little two person table that can come inside if needed as well.

Please note that Snowshoe is in a quiet zone, so cell service is not great anywhere on the mountain. To combat this, we've ensured we have the best wifi available on the mountain - a 100 mbps package. To avoid issues with checking in, it may be beneficial to download your map before you get on the mountain (though there is good signage), and make a note of the wifi password.

We want the house to have everything you need so your stay is as relaxing and enjoyable as possible. If there's anything you think would make the house more comfortable please let us know.

The space
This beautiful home is right on the slopes, making skiing easy for families with kids. Ski from the house to the base of the new high-speed detachable lift. In the evenings, walk 200 yards to the Timberline lodge for dining, nightlife and live music.
The master bedroom suite is on the top floor by itself, with private bathroom and huge Jacuzzi. The Jacuzzi is under a canopy of windows with gorgeous mountain views. The main floor is a huge open space -- kitchen, dining and living area with 60-inch HDTV -- that can comfortably accommodate everyone. The main floor also has two bedrooms and a full bathroom. The house has a full-size crib and a high-chair. Please bring your own crib sheets. Downstairs is another full bathroom, 50-inch flatscreen, plus two bedrooms including the bunk beds.
This chalet has a little more privacy than some other slopeside lodges, because you've got trees screening both sides of the lot, although there is another large house directly across the Winterset ski run.

The TV on the main floor is a Sony Bravia smart TV with Netflix app and other apps. The TV will also "mirror" your iPhone using Airplay.

You have access to the entire house, with the exception of a small owner's closet. Garage not included in rental.

Other things to note
-- Minimum age to book is 25 years old.
-- One dog is allowed only if you request and receive permission at the time of booking. No cats or other pers allowed due to allergy concerns. Unauthorized pets will result in a $500 deduction from your deposit per pet.
-- Parking is limited to 5 cars, which must fit on the gravel portion of the driveway.
-- There isn't a fire pit, and open fires are prohibited anywhere on the property.
-- I require at least 3 positive reviews on Airbnb before I'll confirm a booking.
-- Your housekeeping fee covers laundering sheets and towels, vacuuming, wiping down surfaces and dusting. It does not cover cleaning up a disaster zone. In particular, please leave the kitchen in good shape. Load the dishwasher and run it. Clean specialty items including crock pot, waffle iron and griddle by hand and replace in cabinets.
-- No loose garbage in the trash bin; it must be tied in plastic garbage bags. Take out the kitchen trash when you depart.
-- The cabin is located on a part of the mountain that isn't particularly steep, and the roads and driveway are plowed regularly, so a four-wheel drive is nice but not necessary
-- The hot tub is great and it works 95% of the time. However, the elements are hard on outdoor hot tubs and they break down occasionally. In the unlikely event of a breakdown that can't be immediately repaired, I will rebate $50 per day that the hot tub doesn't work.
-- The chalet is our family getaway and we use it often. Please treat it as you would your own home.

One of only 10 hutches on the mountain, Hutch #2 offers panoramic views, ski -in, ski-out access to Cupp Run, and is just a short walk to the village and restaurants at the Corduroy Inn. A standalone property with a huge deck and wood-burning fireplace, the upstairs has 3 beds, 2 baths and the ground floor is 1 bed, 1 bath with a pullout. Can be rented together or separately. There are separate entrances and washer and dryer.

The space
2 separate apartments that can be rented individually or separately. Price above is for entire home.

Upstairs Apt: 3 bedrooms (two with double bed, one a loft with two twin beds), 2 baths (one is private attached to bedroom), living room area (with new leather couch - does not pullout), dining area and kitchen with wood-burning fire place. There is a laundry room and ski storage area on ground floor. This unit has access to deck with panoramic views and a fire pit. Note: Access to downstairs and loft is with a narrow spiral staircase.
