Come stay at ‘Hillside Hideaway” located in Herndon, WV. Our place is easily accessible to trucks with trailers, no hilly, winding backroads. The house is located approximately one mile from an access point to the Hatfield McCoy Trail System so you can ride to the trails directly from the house with no need to haul your ATV’s. Outlaw Trails are only a few seconds down the road and you can be on Hatfield McCoy's Pinnacle Creek and Indian Ridge trails in less than 10 minutes (Trail 36 Pinnacle Creek/Indian Ridge connector or Trail 11 Pinnacle Creek trailhead) Then travel over to Pocahontas and Warrior trails from there.
We offer a large parking area that will fit up to 5 trucks and trailers next to the house. The exterior of the home, including the parking area, has security cameras.
Our newly renovated trail house sleeps up to 13 people and has central air and heat. We have 5 bedrooms (8 beds, no bunks, twins are XL). Linens, extra blankets, and pillows are provided. The largest bedroom has its own bathroom attached and a television with a Fire TV stick. There are two full bathrooms. Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Wash, TP and Towels are provided. You will also find a large eat-in kitchen with full-size appliances, including a dishwasher, microwave, toaster, crock pot and coffee maker. Coffee creamer, sugar, trash bags, dishwashing soap/pods and paper products are provided. The cabinets are fully stocked with all the plates, glasses, pots, bowls, utensils, etc that you should need to prepare a meal for a large group. The living room has a comfy leather sofa and loveseat with a second dining area and a 65" Smart TV with over 200 free channels, or sign into your own streaming accounts! Our laundry room has 2 washing machines and 2 dryers (detergent provided). We also have two areas with plenty of hooks and shelving to hold your shoes, helmets, etc. There are two decks with chairs, a charcoal grill, and a picnic table. You will find a large carport with tables and chairs to relax after a long day of riding (perfect in case of inclement weather). There's also a firepit in the yard for those chilly nights!
About 5 miles up the road you will find Bud Ez-Stop, which is a trail permit retailer, has ready-made food, made-to-order food, groceries, fuel etc. Ziggy's powersports, Riders Paradise Restaurant and Outlaw Bar and Grill are approx. 8 miles away.
Mullens is about 12 miles away and has multiple ATV friendly restaurants and stores. ATVs are permitted on all roads for up to 20 miles. We are approximately 24 miles from Winterplace Resort for skiing and snow tubing.

Pineville is an ATV friendly town, you are welcome to ride your ATV to the town’s many businesses and to the Hatfield-McCoy Pinnacle Trailhead. Leave your trailer at the lodge and ride your ATV throughout the town. The historical town of Pineville is the county seat of Wyoming County in West Virginia. Pineville is a short 45-minute drive just south of Beckley, WV.

For those looking for things to do, don’t forget to visit our Twin Falls State Park and golf course about 15 minutes from Pineville.
The Creekside Lodge is on the banks of the “Guyandotte River” where fishing is allowed with WV permit or bring your kayak and/or raft to enjoy the river.

- "Great location and very clean! Enough room for our group of 12." - "Property is much bigger than the pictures can show and minutes from the pinnacle trail head. Owners were great, very helpful! Floors were a little dirty but we were there for ATV riding and only made them more dirty, brooms and dust mop came in very helpful! Grill on site was amazing, parking was plentiful! Beds were so so comfortable! Water pressure and showers were great! We will be visiting again! Thank you so much!"

Ride your ATV to gas station (with the best pepperoni rolls in my opinion), Hatfield (Pinnacle) connector to Warrior, Indian Ridge and Pocahontas. Seconds to Outlaw trails. Short ride to Outlaw Bar and Riders Paradise. Huge indoor game room that has pool table, ping pong, and commercial Ice machine included! Outdoor games and a fire pit. High speed internet and security cameras. If riding isn’t your thing, there is kayaking and fishing near by. If skiing or snowboarding is your thing, Winter Place is less than an hour away!

- "If you are looking for a place for your family and/or friends to stay this is it!!!! Run, don’t walk, run to checkout and book with Shelby!! The property itself is nice and you have plenty of room for activities. Also a fire pit with wood was a nice surprise bonus! Very quiet area, saw a few neighbors but no one bothered us. The house is the perfect layout for those with a large group, especially ones that will be going to bed at different times. The game room is actual separate from all the main sleeping areas except one. This was so great for my group as we would all go to sleep all throughout the night so no one in the house was bothered by the people still up. The kitchen was the best out of any places I’ve stayed- she had everything you could think of and plenty of it. Would recommend bringing your own cups if you had a pretty big group. Plenty of bathroom space as well. We had so much fun and would 100% stay again. The host, Shelby, was soooo helpful in planning our trip and very responsive. She answered quickly and throughly and felt like a friend by the end of it! The game room had everything you could think of but we did bring an extra fold out table- definitely recommend this for more games or anything involving a liquid. There wasn’t a lot of outside seating but there was some on the porch and around the fire pit so a lawn chair or two would be nice if you like hanging out outside. The views around the property were amazing and it was great drive up!"

Pipestem State Park has swimming, fishing, boat rentals, frisbee golf, horseback riding, and now a new splash pad both around 35 minutes away. Grandview National Park has beautiful trails and amazing overlooks and the Outdoor Drama. You can watch the performance under the stars, which is amazing. You can visit Escape Rooms at Glade Springs, Crossroads Mall in Prosperity and Fayetteville has several. Don't forget to visit the beautiful New River Gorge with hiking trails , cliff climbing, whitewater rafting, and family floating trips down the river. Ace Adventure Wonderland has swimming with many blow ups and much more. We now have wifi at this property on our beautiful 10 acres that has been in our family over 75 years. We have Cornhole boards and board games available for our guests enjoyment. Please don't forget your fishing poles when packing. Our pond is stocked with several different types and sizes of fish. It's beautiful here in West Virginia and our property is private but convenient. You will see wildlife, hear birds singing. We would love to have you and your group as our guests at our rustic country getaway. Our goal is for you to come as guests but leave as friends.
