The rental has a gorgeous view of a meadow. It is peaceful and serene. We were treated to sights of fireflies, a Luna moth, many wild rabbits, and deer in the time we were there. This is perfect for you if you want to be in a beautiful slice of the beautiful almost heaven that West Virginia is. There were many interesting things to see and do within a short drive. We highly recommend the bridge walk and the National Park nearby. There are also many whitewater rafting options we didn’t have time to sample. Finding the entrance to the road was easy enough but be prepared for a long and rustic road in. I wouldn’t arrive the first time after dark if I was you. We struggled a bit with the gate but our friendly host answered the call and was ready with the help we needed. The house itself is comfortable, clean, and charming. The kitchen had all the equipment we needed to cook our meals when we ate in. There were plenty of towels in the bathroom. There was laundry detergent for the washer (although we had brought some because you never know). We were very pleased with our whole experience."

- "The property is so much greater than the pictures do it justice. The outside is nice but the inside is wonderful! It is very tastefully decorated, making it feel cozy and like home. Everything looks and feels brand new. It is obvious the home has been updated amazingly well. All of the amenities were there that we could need and we stayed for a week. It appears maybe guests leave things for other guests which is so kind. We left a Keurig there but they had a regular coffee maker and a pod coffee maker just not the keurig. Our way of “paying it forward”. The beds were super comfortable, as was the living room furniture (and the bean bag chairs downstairs) and there was so much more room in the house than we imagined. The property is so close to everything, including restaurants, gas stations, grocery stores, outdoor activities, New River Gorge, etc. We felt very safe, even sitting outside every night on the patio. It really was perfect for us and we enjoyed every single day there. We even spoke to a neighbor one day who was very friendly and outgoing."

It is a great starting point for exploring all the beautiful sites and attractions that southern West Virginia and the New River Gorge have to offer or a wonderful place to enjoy a relaxing stay on the river.
To get to the home, you will go across railroad tracks, we are near the railroad tracks. It is in a small, friendly neighborhood. You can walk to Sandstone General Store and Eatery to get any necessities you may have forgotten for your trip or get a meal.
If you plan to fish, there is also a bait and tackle store. Be sure to have a WV fishing license to be able to fish, though. The Sandstone public river access is right by the house. You may see people going to the river at the public river access as well as people putting their boats in the river.
An extra that we provide our guests is access to the Sandstone Landings patio on the river, this is a shared space with our Sandstone Landings guests. It is just a short walk down river from the home. The upper level of the patio is equipped with a dining table and chairs. Lower level of patio has outdoor furniture to enjoy the river view or to sit in while you fish in the New River.

We named this house Mample's because it was my grandmothers weekend get away. She loved the New River and wanted her family and friends to have a place to get away when they could. I remember weekends playing in that
front yard, just waiting on a train to go by so the engineer would blow his horn. The adults sitting on the porch watching us kids and enjoying the view of the River. Meadow Creek use to be a quaint little railroad town that has died off, with just residents and A LOT of good fishing and nostalgia. Mample's place sits right in the very heart of it. You can sit on the big front porch and look at the river behind what use to be a very busy store and watch what few trains that still go by. Our unit is a garage apartment that has a cabin feel. The garage is detached from the house so it is very private. We are located literally seconds off of route 19 and within minutes of ACE Adventure Resort, the New River Gorge Bridge, Fayetteville, AOTG, Betchel Boy Scout Reserve and other local NRG Park favorites. The "Carriage House" has a private key pad entrance.

Fayetteville is such a cool town with a great vibe. Pies and Pints was the best pizza we’ve EVER eaten! Try it. I only wish we could safely walk to town from the house—it’s so close, but the narrow, windy road isn’t walker-friendly.
