- "Excellent’" - "This is a beautiful house and the convenience of being close to the interstate and the location that you were on at the lake is perfect. There Was no Internet access, even with the Wi-Fi password for the home and there were no televisions except for one in a shared family game room area. This worked out OK for our group. The four, 10 and 12-year-old did have access to some movies. The icemaker did not work in the refrigerator which was inconvenient since we cooked and shared cocktails on the trip. The Coffee maker was extremely slow so we ended up purchasing one for ourselves while we were there. The water access was nice but the floating dock had a large hole which was a safety concern for our little ones while we were out there. Otherwise it was an amazing place."

- "The house was just a short drive off I-81, easy to find, sparkling clean, beautifully decorated, and had great little touches like providing coffee and s'more fixings and allowing access to the kayaks and canoes. It's in a quiet area on a scenic cove with easy access to the main lake channel. We had a great time there and Dwayne was very communicative. Be aware that there are lots of steps to navigate and cellular service at the house is iffy, but that comes with the territory of vacationing on a mountain lake!"

Arguably the best view Claytor Lake has to offer, enjoy 180 degrees of wondrous nature at Abigail’s Lake View. This breathtaking view is not one that can easily be described. We can promise you, however, that you will be as blown away as we were when you take your first step onto the upper deck.

Enjoy the view from the large open upper deck or from the covered gazebo right beneath it. After you’re finished taking in Claytor Lake cliffside, walk down to the flat, private lot below. Here you can enjoy a picnic in the screened in Lake Cabana, jump off the swimming dock into deep water, or tie up your boat after a long day of lake cruisin’. Opportunities for lakeside recreation are endless at Abigail’s Lake View.

Conveniently located across the lake from Claytor Lake State Park and only a quick 20 minute drive to downtown Radford, this home is perfect for a summer week at the lake or a weekend visiting your student at Radford University (or maybe both!). Disclaimer: While the road to the lake lot is well maintained and gravel, the grade is steep. Two-wheel drive is sufficient during ideal weather conditions, however during excessive rain or snow four wheel drive may be required.

We were in town for a Hokies game and it was a close enough stay while also giving us a great house to stay at." - "The lake is perfect…..huge deck on a quiet cove. Floats available. The kitchen has all of the basics; plus a little sugar, salt, and pepper. Remember to bring your own foil and charcoal for the grill. No worries, as there is a Kroger within short driving distance. Housekeeping left the place neat, clean, and organized. The mattresses are more comfortable for younger folks, and the sofas were plenty comfortable for the parents. There’s hand soap and dishwashing liquid and detergent available. Plenty of movies and books for quiet time. Be aware that the place is in a state of change…..there are several nice updates. During our stay, a shower leak was in the process of being repaired. There was also some evidence of old water damage in part of the ceiling. We had fun, and overall found this lakehouse clean and comfortable."

Your annual lake vacation will never be the same once you go to Andrew’s Lake House on Claytor Lake. Situated in a quiet cove across the lake from Claytor Lake State Park, this three-story family house has it all! Great views of the lake from the upper open deck, swinging benches on the screened in porch on the second floor, and an easy walk to the lake from the bottom floor. Down by the lake you’ll find a great spot for kids to play in the lake with a gradual, sandy walk into the water and a floating dock for jumping and swimming. As the day winds down have a fire by the lake or light the fireplace inside while cooking dinner.

Andrews Lake House sleeps 10 with the Master Suite and a private room on the second floor, and a family room downstairs with three beds. Access to the house from parking area is on the third floor (there are no bedrooms on the entrance floor). Andrew’s Lake House has plenty of space for everyone with large wrap around porches on each floor.

Andrew’s Lake House is also next door to Abigail’s Lake View for those bigger groups getting to the lake! Conveniently located across the lake from Claytor Lake State Park and only a quick 20 minute drive to downtown Radford, this home is perfect for a summer week at the lake or a weekend visiting your student at Radford University (or maybe both!).

This cabin is located in the heart of Virginia’s New River Valley and just minutes from the Rock House Marina. The neighborhood is a small quite neighborhood located about halfway up the Peak Creek section of Claytor Lake. The cabin is right on Claytor Lake and has a dock for your own private access to the water. If you are visiting for more than just the lake, you are close to many other things as well, we are about 35 minutes to Virginia Tech, 20 minutes to Radford University, 15 minutes to the New River Trail, 20 Minutes from Draper Valley Golf Club, and located within 30 minutes of several wineries and breweries. The area is great for a summer lake vacation, a fall get-away to enjoy the beautiful fall colors, or a peaceful winter retreat.

All areas of the house, decks, and dock are open for access to guests. The dock available for use by renters and their guests for sun-bathing and swimming, there is space for renters to dock their own boat. The boat lift will be used by the property owners occasionally and the rental does not include use of the owner's boat OR boat lift.

This spacious house offers room for up to 10 guests with 2 bedrooms on the lower level and 2 open loft bedrooms. Each of the lower bedrooms contains a queen bed and a closet. The upstairs loft area off the kitchen contains 2 queen beds and the loft area above the living room contains a queen bed, couch, and chair.

You're only 10 minutes from I-81. There is a public boat launch & marina just a few miles away! Parking is available in the driveway of the house.

A great view, awesome deck and dock and the house has all of the extras that make your stay easy and comfortable. The master suite served the elder family parents well as there is an entry with no steps and a walk in shower. The 30ish adults shared the bunk room and the married couples utilized the other two rooms with queen beds. The main floor was perfect for our needs with multiple tables and seating inside and on the decks. The lake views and outdoor seating areas were fantastic for conversation. The acoustics within the house allowed for multiple conversation groups. Well planned and one of the best properties we have visited. Our suggestion would include better road signage as we arrived in the dark and it was initially difficult to determine which driveway was the appropriate one. It took us a while to discover the roll away bed in the utility room downstairs as it was out of sight when the door was initially opened. Thw elder parents believe a grab bar in the shower would improve safety. Wonderful property!! Thank you for sharing this gem with us."

The Do Better Cottage is owned by the New River Historical Society and holds a storied past intricately linked to the story of the area and it’s prominent citizens. The house is thought to have been built in 1849 which is where historical records first indicate someone living on the property. The cottage, locally known as the “Do Better Cottage” may have gotten it’s name during this time. When it was built, it was only a small two room cottage and the name may have been since the couple who built it were to live there until they could “do better” for themselves.

The front of the home will be used for archival purposes as a part of the Wildness Road Museum which is across the street from the home. Additionally, the home will be used for various events associated with the Museum.

The home is right on Claytor Lake and has a dock for your own private access to the water. If you are visiting for more than just the lake, you are close to many other things as well, we are about 40 minutes to Virginia Tech, 30 minutes to Radford University, 48 minutes to the New River Trail, 30 Minutes from Draper Valley Golf Club, and located within 30 minutes of several wineries and breweries. The area is great for a summer lake vacation, a fall get-away to enjoy the beautiful fall colors, or a peaceful winter retreat.

All areas of the house, decks, and dock are open for access to guests. The dock available for use by renters and their guests for sun-bathing and swimming, there is space for renters to dock their own boat.
The home features 2.5 levels of living space, with four comfortable bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and a range of amenities designed to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

The main level features an open-concept living and dining area, complete with comfortable seating, a flat-screen TV, and a fully equipped kitchen. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals, including a stove, oven, refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher. This level also features one full bathroom, along with a cozy bedroom with a full-sized bed across the hall. Feel free to use the laundry room on this level that is equipped with detergent and additional cleaning supplies.

The Lakeview Cabin is easily accessible by car and is conveniently located just off I-81 in Dublin, VA. If you are traveling by air, the closest airport is Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport, which is approximately 53 miles away.

Once you arrive at the property, you can park your car in the driveway, which has space for up to three cars. From there, you can easily access the main entrance of the house.

While there is no public transportation directly to the property, there are several taxi and ride-sharing services available in the area. Additionally, if you're interested in exploring the local attractions, renting a car is highly recommended.

- "The house was perfect! A group of five friends (since high school) celebrating their 60th birthday. We loved everything about this house. We appreciated that all bedrooms were masters (2 bedrooms shared a jack and jill bathroom). Beds were very comfy. House decorated beautifully, light and airy. Well stocked kitchen. Appreciated the little snack basket left for us on the counter. Enjoyed the ping pong table! The gentle walk down to the dock was nice (versus many many steps). We didn’t utilize, but kayaking in the summer will be fun. We went into Radford one evening for dinner (30 min) and the following morning visited the Draper merchantile shops and restaurant (15 min; close at 3 p.m.) Winding country roads to get there, which didn’t bother us, just FYI. Highly recommend!"
