- "This house is spectacularly beautiful. It was clean, stocked and had every amenity you could think of. Plenty of towels, cosy blankets and super comfy furniture. We barbecued and cooked dinner one night at the house. The kitchen has everything you would need and was a pleasure to cook in as it is huge and has 2 sinks, 2 fridges & high end appliances! The decor is lovely yet comfortable. It looks like an interior designer designed the entire place.The beds were AMAZING. Even the twin beds were super comfortable. We all slept great. The AC worked great and all bathrooms were beautiful as well. There are a lot of details and personal touches that really made us feel at home here. We were a large group comprised of teens, college kids, aunts and uncles and one Grandma. Our daughter goes to LSU and we came down for a football game. At first I was worried about the distance to the school which was exactly 30 minutes away, but it was a super easy drive and we really enjoyed the quiet and beauty of the False River community. There is a Walmart exact 8 minutes away. The view of the river out back is amazing, especially the sunrise. The dock off the back of the house was so nice and they also have a wonderful fire pit and really comfortable outdoor furniture right outside the back door. Our host, Brandy, couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful. She had suggestions for everything I asked about: food, activities and how to handle the game craziness. We really can’t wait to come back! This home sits on a beautiful lot on False River in Oscar, LA. The house is located on what is known as "Million Dollar Row", which hosts some of the most beautiful houses on the river. Sitting in a prime location gives guests easy access to all the amenities and attractions the area has to offer. The house is two stories and has 4 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms. The master bedroom features floor to ceiling windows with gorgeous views of the river. The master bathroom has a large stained glass window which provides a great atmosphere for soaking in the Jacuzzi Tub. There is also a walk-in shower and dressing room in this bathroom. 3 bed 2 bath home with a great view of false river. This approx. 2400 sqft home sits right across the street from the lake on a huge lot. You will be able to walk across the street to the lake and enjoy a really nice covered dock. Sit in the sun, swim, fish, relax or tie up your boat! The house has a big open kitchen with an island and tables for working or playing. Lots of concrete area for parking, cooking and even playing a basketball game on a really nice goal. We have other outdoor games to enjoy, grilling, and a ping pong table! The fishing on the lake can be really good at times both in the daylight and at night . we usually have lots of birds for viewing from the lake and in the back yard. A walk in the mile long back yard and you can see chickens, birds of all sorts and even the occasional bald eagle.

- "Our stay at the David’s lake house was just what we needed.My 75 yo mom, my teen son, and I came to the area for a bucket list wish.My mom wanted to see Jimmy Swaggart at his church in BR, enjoy a crawfish boil and try fried gator! We were able to check them all off and so much more. Yes, the home is older and has its quirks, but there is a charm about it.The home was so much bigger than we expected and offers multiple spaces to lounge, eat, WFH, and entertain as well as find respite.The beds are comfortable, there is ample closet space, and plenty of extra blankets for people like me who are always cold!The drive to New Roads for groceries or to get a tire fixed (yep happens on vacation too) is within 20 minutes.There are plenty of amazing restaurants to choose from too.The drive to BR is about 35-40 minutes and easy as well.I WFH, so I was able to set up my office with amazing lake views! There is a small desk in 2 of the bedrooms and several tables.The wifi was more than sufficient for me to work, stream a movie, and to have several devices connected at the same time.My mom has trouble getting around because of a previous injury to her ankle, and the home was easy for her to walk around in. The slope to the dock presented a little more of a challenge, so be aware, it can be difficult for older individuals.She was able to make it down and back with the help of a cane.That dock is so nice! Between the fishing tips, the fresh eggs and veggies, the David’s are great hosts!"

Little A-Frame cottage that sits right on False River. You can watch the waves from your living room or sit and relax with stunning views from the covered back deck. This cottage has the most amazing lake vibe. You walk down stairs to the dock where you can fish, swim or go boating. All in a great location. False river is a great place for water sports , fishing or relaxing. Fishing can be really good right off the dock during the day or at night !! This is cottage is an "A " frame design with the kitchen , living , bathroom and a bed room down stairs enjoying great views of the lake .the second floor has the master bed room and bath . This is an early 80's camp that is clean and well maintained , but it is camp and not a palace! However I love the place , the design and the décor and I spend a lot of time fishing and relaxing at what i think is the best darn view on the lake . good parking on private pad. There is a boat landing less than 1/4 mile down the road and your not far from New Roads where you'll find shopping and eateries . I have caught Bass, bream, crappie, catfish, gar, goo, striped bass and others off the docks. We welcome snow birds so be sure and let me know for extended winter stays!! This is an amazing winter cabin as well!! The A frame feel inside is amazingly cozy and charming. Cozy up with hot tea or coffee, read a book, fish, and look out over the lake. Doesn't get any better.

Fabulous family getaway on the island side of False River! Come fish, swing, swim, or watch the sun rise/set on the large covered pier. The pier has a lower deck that's not covered, great for sunbathing and fishing, a ladder to ease getting in/out of the water and plenty of cleats to tie up your boat/rafts! This 3 bedroom, 3 full bathroom, 1900 sq ft house is equipped with all your needs and sleeps 11 comfortably plus an added twin bed-in-a-closet option for a 12th person. Some added amenities are blackout curtains, luxury vinyl tile and ceramic tile throughout, wifi, and a fenced in yard. Enjoy the screened in patio upstairs (off the master bedroom) to keep the mosquito's away at night. This house is located right across the lake from the Sandbar! Drive you boat straight across for lunch, dinner, sand volleyball or live music on select nights.
Up the first flight of stairs you will enter the house with a keypad, code will be given before arrival. On the entry level of the house, there is the main kitchen, den, guest bathroom, laundry and 2 bedrooms, the queen room & the bunk room. Upstairs (2nd level of house) is the master suite, master bath and patio.
The kitchen is well equipped. K-cup coffee maker, microwave, blender, food processor, cutting boards, pots & pans, baking sheets, lemon/lime press, toaster, wine opener, etc. There is a spacious buffett cabinet that you can store your pantry items in. The kitchen has dishtowels, dish soap & and starter roll of paper towels.
Watch a football game or movie in the den with Sonos sound bar and subwoofer. There is also board games, tic tac toe and cards for a game night.
The Bunk room sleeps 5 comfortably. It has 1 queen, a bunk bed with 2 twins plus a twin trundle bed. There is a smart tv, closet, a small vanity with a stool and a mirror for your convenience.
The Queen room sleeps 4 comfortably. It has 2 queen beds, a smart tv and a closet.
Upstairs (2nd floor of house) in the huge master suite there is a king bed, a convertible futon sofa bed and in the large closet there is a twin bed. So it sleeps 2 comfortably in the king plus additional sleeping options. The master bath has 2 seperate vanities with sinks, an oversized bathtub and a separate shower with a handheld shower head. There is ample seating for enjoying the lake view from inside with a/c or on the peaceful screened in porch. Have a cup of coffee in the morning from the coffee bar without disturbing the downstairs guest!
Bathrooms are equipped with liquid hand soap and towels which are not allowed outside, so please bring your beach towel. Beds have clean linens and pillows. The 3rd full bathroom is located on the ground level which is convenient while grilling and swimming.
The ground level kitchenette is equipped with a full-size fridge! Ground level offers a gas bbq pit, charcoal bbq pit and a 22" tabletop gas griddle! Don't forget your charcoal & lighter fluid and if the propane bottles need refilling you can get it filled at L.A. express which is only 0.8 miles away. Enjoy a wood burning fire on a chilly night with a fire bowl and 6 Adirondack chairs. Renter supplies their own wood.
There is a boat launch across the street from LA Express. The lily pad and a kayak are for your use but please be respectful to items and return them to their original place. The boat on the property is for owners use only. Life jackets should be worn when using kayaks or swimming in the lake. State law requires children 16 years old and younger to wear lifejackets when on a watercraft.
The driveway is a little steep but offers parking for 5 vehicles. Video cameras on the outside of the house are for security purposes, there are no cameras on the interior.
False River has a water level draw down every few years, if you want to know if it is active during your stay please reach out to owner or look for the schedule on the La. wildlife & fisheries website.

- "It’s become a yearly tradition to take the kids tubing and boating at end of the summer before school starts. Now all 3 are starting college so we decided to make a weekend of it. We have a new tradition! We will definitely be staying here again! This property is not only beautiful and completely updated, but all of the functional details throughout the house are amazing. We said when we buy our own place on the river we want to hire them do decorate it because whoever designed/decorated it is so talented!! As the name implies, this is a tiny, utilitarian camp on False River. Just the essentials for a great stay on a beautiful lake. There is a lean in the living room, originally a porch. 1 queen and 1 bunk leave little room in the bedrooms and the roomiest part of the bath is inside the 3X3 shower. Its window units for AC and the surrounding camps have mixed levels of maintenance. Nice back porch for watching beautiful sunsets, small simple pier for fishing, 200 ft from Bueche's Bar and Grill.

3 bedroom 2.5 bathroom custom home with private pier! Exceptional, light-filled home with beautiful lake views and epic sunsets. 1500 sq. ft. with an additional 800 sq. ft screened porch. Complete with bunk room, ping pong table, basketball goal, canoe and floating mat, this home is perfect for families. One of the best piers on the lake! Huge pier with large covered area with lots of seating and dining space, high jump platform and sun deck.

This one story home features a main bedroom with a king bedroom and ensuite bathroom with double vanities, shower and soaking tub. Across the hall is a queen bedroom and a bunk room (with four double beds and one twin trundle). There is a full bathroom on main hall and a half bath located in the carport area.

The living room features a large seating area with two sofas (one is a sleeper sofa) and a 65" flat screen TV perfect for the big game. The dining area has a large table that seat 8 and can extend to seat 12 guests.

The screened porch is one of the many highlights of this house and comes with a dining table that seats 6 and a sitting area perfect for morning coffee in the shade.
