The cabin and pond are located on the 130 acre Guillory Farm in a small community called Beaver Creek in South Central Louisiana in Evangeline Parish. This area of Louisiana looks similar to East Texas with tall stately pine trees and dogwood and redbud trees growing into the landscape.

The appeal of the cedar boarded Colorado-styled cabin begins with a front porch with a swing, and a huge wood deck which features a swing and comfortable rocking chairs, and a spectacular view of the four acre fishing pond and natural surroundings. The cabin includes air conditioning and heating systems for the comfort of all guests. The main bedroom features two queen beds, while a smaller bedroom has a bunk bed, ideal for the younger family members (you have to walk through the main bedroom to get to the bunk room). A guest can enjoy the extra large lounge chairs while watching a variety of videos on the flat screen television. The kitchen offers a full sized stove, oven and microwave. Guests are reminded that fish frying and crawfish boiling is restricted to the outdoor area. Smoking inside the cabin is strictly prohibited.

The pond has been generously stocked with black bass, copper nose blue gill fingerlings and redear/shellcracker (referred to as chinquapin in Louisiana). The blue gills are automatically fed multiple times daily utilizing Purina Aqua Max high protein fish food, while the black bass diet consists of small blue gill, fat head minnows and crawfish. As of 2010, Hybrid Stripped Bass have been added to the pond for fishing enjoyment and are “catch and release” only. This bass do not reproduce so it is imperative that they be released back in to the pond.

There are plenty of fresh clean towels and wash cloths. The kitchen is stocked well to cook meals, including a slow cooker, a magic bullet, and even an air fryer. The coffee and hot chocolate bar was also a sweet touch and we enjoyed sitting outside for sunrise in the morning. The living room has a few cozy throw blankets, which was awesome since I’m often cold. They even have board games for family game nights. My son’s favorite part is the snack bowl on the dining room table which is always full when we check in. 6) No more than 3 total dogs are allowed on property at any given time because the city does not allow it. No pit bull breeds because the city does not allow it.
7) Please do not mention short-term rental/Airbnb to neighbors because they may complain. Instead, you can say you are renting if needed since you are renting. this is because short-term rentals have become a nuisance to many people today. The neighbors do know that it is a short-term rental, but it may make them not feel good talking about it.
8) Do not park in front of any neighbors' homes. They may complain.
9) Do not use flushable wet wipes.
10) Can use street parking or driveway.
11) Keep pets on leash at all times when not inside of the house. The neighbors may complain.
12) Wash dishes if you use them, please. This includes the coffee pot. There is a $15 charge if the cleaner has to do them.
13) If the cleaner has to wait because guests are late checking out, then there is a $30 charge from 11:01 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. $60 once reaches 12:01 p.m. up until 1:00 p.m. and so on adding $30 each time. The guest should check out prior to checkout time unless prior approval is given.
- Do not lock the front bottom door knob. If locked, then the smart lock will not work, and guests will be locked out of the house.
- Do not use any neighbor's driveway as a turnaround.
- Make sure to copy and paste these rules to anyone you have as a guest. You are reasonable for anyone you have with you.

The full kitchen includes a 4 burner range and oven with warming zones, bluetooth smart microwave and dishwasher, full sized retro Frigidaire freezer/fridge, ice maker, toaster and blender/chopper with personal smoothie attachments.

You’ll find everything you need for adventure or relaxation including a selection of insulated cups and wine tumblers to enjoy inside at the eat-in bar top or out on the patios. Our furnished porch has a great view into a tract of Kisatchie National Forest that is home to an abundance of wildlife. The cabin and online guidebook include forest guides and maps to acquaint you with access and use of the Kisatchie trails nearby and our private trails that you may also enjoy.

Your television is connected to 5G WiFi via hotspot. A Roku TV on swivel mount offers all of your favorite streaming apps or guest mode with live TV and plenty of free channels. We are amid the National Forest, so speed will not be as fast as you experience in the big city but it is generally serviceable to stream. Per our service provider, we cannot guarantee service speed. Upload speed is slow. We guarantee you won’t want to sit around and watch a screen with the heart of Kisatchie trails right outside your door.

The full bathroom is separated by a sliding barn style door and includes shower/tub and a stacked washer and dryer unit free to use. We include a starter supply of luxury detergent, hand soaps, body wash and shampoo. A luggage rack and small hanging rack for clothing or hang dry items are also on hand.

The cabin is serviced by a brand new split AC unit with integrated heater, wall thermostat and easy instructions in our guide book. Heat and ventilation are also in bathroom. Video on operating thermostat:

Bring your ATV or bikes and enjoy riding our trails across the road or elsewhere on our 400 acres. We have two RV hookups that can be added at an additional charge per night. These spots can only be added on to the cabin, so you will always have the property to yourself with your registered guests. The entire Kisatchie trail system is also just a short ride away. Horses must have current Coggins and health certificate or proof of vaccination. Please reach out for full information on equine accommodations.

This protects both parties in case of accidental damage. Your reservation is not complete until you have e-signed your guest agreement and completed the guest screening, which takes only a couple of minutes.

FREE Early Check-in during Fall/Winter. Since days are shorter, we will allow you to check in as soon as our Cleaning and Sanitization team is done with your turnover. Message ahead of time so we can confirm same-day availability and timeframe. Your door code will be time-adjusted upon confirmation. We want you to have as much daylight as possible to enjoy your stay. (Please don't show up unannounced)

There is no hold placed with the deposit; that option incurs a $10 fee. Either option protect both parties in case of accidental damage. This is similar to a Guest Service fee with an online travel agency, but the cost is far less. The Damage waiver/deposit fee are NOT charged by Kisatchie Vista. This is done through Truvi.
