You’ll love my place because of the outdoors space, the comfy queen bed, the light.. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with small kids), and small groups. There is a small loveseat sofa, which could be okay for a small child. I have 2 airbnb rentals. The other is Steve and Katie Riley Guest House), and it has 40+ 5 star reviews. Our barn loft suite is situated in the country under a several 250 year old oaks draped with Spanish moss. The room is equipped with a king size bed and a couple couches that face french doors overlooking the property. There is a small kitchenette area that has sink, small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, plates & utensils, and small table for meals. Outside of the room is a large pond for fishing, and an outdoor kitchen for grilling. All guests are allowed to fish in the private stocked fishing pond.

- "We came to Breau Bridge to attend the Crawfish Festival, our first time, and had another couple stay with us as well. The house was perfect for our stay. Though we didn't use the kitchen for cooking, it was well stocked with adequate room to accommodate preparing meals. There was a small "study" room, perfect to set up a mobile office space if needed. There is a very nice screened in porch area that we were able to enjoy as well. One of the best features, especially when traveling with another couple, is that both bathrooms are attached to the bedrooms. The hall bath can be completely closed off to the rest of the house to be accessible only to the queen bedroom. The king bedroom has an ensuite. All finishes in the home were nicely done. The home is within walking distance of the downtown area that has antique and other small shops. We were not within walking distance to the festival, but the drive was not far. The Precious Past rental is on the lower floor of a barn that is situated at the end of a private road underneath several 250 year old live oak trees. The room is equipped with a queen bed, shower, kitchenette corner (which includes small fridge, sink, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and plates & utensils. There is also a small couch and recliner in the living corner that has DirecTV. Outside the property on the 4 acres, is a private pond for fishing and an outdoor kitchen for grilling in the evenings.

Cannot hear the highway traffic while inside or outside. The pond is beautiful and offers decent fishing as well as the perfect place to just sit and appreciate life. This is a relaxing family getaway located off I-10 between Baton Rouge and Lafayette in heart of the Atchafalaya Basin. The house has an open floor plan with a beautiful view of the river. The main room opens out onto a spacious back porch, which is a great place to watch the sunrise while having your morning coffee.

There is plenty of space in the yard for adventurous kids to play and a place to build a fire near the bank of the river. The wooden walkway leads to the dock where you can fish or just watch the lazy river go by (no swimming).

The Atchafalaya Basin is known for its great fishing, and there are several public landings near by if you bring your own boat. For a little adventure, there are swamp tours available in Henderson and in the spring and fall, there are festivals scattered throughout Acadiana. One of my favorites is the Atchafalaya Basin Festival that takes place in Henderson. It’s small, but the music is top notch and locals do all the cooking.

The kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans for cooking, and there is a big dining room table for family meals. Doucet’s grocery store is just down the road and carries basic necessities but you can find larger grocery stores in Breaux Bridge. Depending on the season, help yourself to fruit from the fig, satsuma, and kumquat trees.

Steve, the owner, lives in an apartment on the ground floor and is happy to help with any recommendations. There is not a washer and dryer upstairs, but you can make arrangements to use the washer and dryer in the downstairs apartment. Because of safety concerns, the cargo elevator is not available.

We went on a swamp tour in Lake Martin, toured historical sites, fished in a few lakes and rivers, had an awesome catfish dinner with our host. Overall it was a magical stay. We would definitely stay here again."

This property is close to I-10. Right off of Reese street which is the main street you turn onto from I-10. 1 mile from the interstate and 1 mile from downtown. Private suite with separate entrance to the area includes Queen size bed and a sitting area. Another upstairs Unit is available with full/twin bunk. Must be able to share downstairs bathroom. Wall mounted TV . The bathroom has a whirlpool bath/shower. Semi-kitchen area is located in hall with a microwave, refrigerator, coffee pot, ice maker and other amenities (breakfast foods included: homemade sweet bread, toast, oat cereal, fruits and juice)

- "This place was amazing, relaxing and even better than the pictures, if that is possible. We ended up extended our stay because we felt so at home! " - "Arriving to the house that side was very kept up. There's also a carport parking and a handicap ramp to enter the house. Whether for a couple of nights or a longer stay, this 2000 square foot apartment is roomy and elegant, with dedicated office space, a dining area, and easy parking on site.

- "This was supposed to be a two bathroom situation and upon arrival one bathroom had no water in the toilet at all and the walking machine was taped closed to not be used. There was a broken lamp shade that was just hanging there, which ok no biggie but then there was a broken kitchen chair that was left that could have been potentially sat in and fallen out of. When we started getting ready for bed and making sure all exit doors were locked we found that there was a door in the front bedroom that led outside that would not close so the way so I walked outside to make sure it wouldn’t open and it did. I was able to pull open the supposedly locked door we tried our hardest to push the door from the outside to make it close securely but it would not, there were literal cracks in the door that I could see the light coming from on the outside when walking up to it so the room was freezing. I let the host know about the one bathroom not working he said thanks and he’d get his maintenance team over on the next day to check on that. Then I informed him of not being able to close and lock the door securely and that we couldn’t stay there because it wasn’t safe for five women to stay in by themselves since they area it’s in isn’t the greatest looking area. There was no response and the host tried to block me in the app… I made a formal complaint then to VRBO and was told that because we left the property before telling VRBO that they couldn’t do anything for us except contact the host."

The space

Maison Mignonne is located in a quiet rural neighborhood just outside of Breaux Bridge city limits. The air is filled with the subtle symphony of nature – crickets serenading, frogs harmonizing, and leaves rustling in a gentle nocturnal breeze. The tranquil night sky and soothing sounds create a serene ambiance, inviting contemplation and a deep connection with the natural world.

Guest access

Make yourself at home. The majority of the house is yours, including the beautiful Satsuma tree in the back of the property. Take as many as you desire if it’s producing fruit! It usually produces from September to early November.

Please note that the detached storage buildings on the property are off-limits to guests, as well as some of the closets and cabinets inside of the home.

The washer and dryer are inoperable for the time being.
