- "Upon entering my room, i was surprised to find the window wide open and the stiff wind was blowing the curtains straight out and it was quite cold in the room. I closed the window and all was good until i turned on the television and the remote did not work. I had to manually change the channel on the direct tvbox. Then in the morning i went to take a shower and was surprised to find the faucet in the bathtub completely missing. So i had to bathe in the sink. So not the best experience. However, the hotel itself was quite nice, with a pool, lounge , bar, pool tables,and an arcade. It was also very clean. I wouldn't hesitant to stay again"

The host went above and beyond with communication to make sure that we knew where everything was and how to use the pull out bed in the living room. The host has literally thought of everything and had so many extras for guest. They had shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower, extra tooth brushes and tooth paste, other toiletries, a great selection of coffees for the Keurig and even umbrella’s by the front door. If you have ever dreamed of living in a tiny house, here’s your chance! Our small cottage is located in our beautiful backyard on a quiet street within walking distance to Truman State University. Although petite, it is delightfully decorated with family antiques and has all the desired amenities for a weekend stay. Newly renovated (foundation work with dehumidifier, new flooring, and remodeled bathroom) in 2024. Because of the size, the bed is just double (an original rope bed—made in the late 1700’s has been fitted with a double mattress). The kitchen is small but sufficient for light cooking. Please note: all the linens and towels are line dried. If you visit during prime flower season a bouquet of flowers from our garden will welcome you!

TinRoofSundae Cabin is located approximately 6 miles east of Marceline, Missouri, on Hwy WW. It overlooks the newly restored Brush Creek wetland. Visitors have access to over 600+ acres of native timber and grasslands. Guests are welcome to hike the trails, rockhop Brush Creek, or enjoy an afternoon of fishing in the pond.

Construction on the cabin was completed in the fall of 2017. The exterior of the cabin provides ample sitting space (and great views), with a covered front porch and covered back deck, each expanding the full length of the cabin. The interior is rustic in design, but with modern floors, fully accommodated kitchen, washer/dryer, heating and air conditioning.

The master bedroom features a king-size bed, walk-in closet, and attached bathroom and beautiful views from the upper level of the home. The master bath contains a jacuzzi tub, double sinks, and walk-in shower. The guest room on the main floor has a queen bed and closet. The bunk room is located on the second floor and was designed with a little help from our four sons! With three full beds, topped by four (yes, four) twin beds, it is sure to be a favorite spot for the young-at-heart!

A grill, fire pit and firewood, and a pond with dock are all located just a few steps out the front door!
