Come and stay in our Historic Stables. Located at the back of Talisman Nursery in a tranquil setting amongst mature trees.

Built, in the early 1920's with locally made bricks. It was used to house draught horses and equipment, as part of the Mangahao – Haywards power reticulation scheme. The Stables were converted into a beautiful cottage during the late 1980’s with the renovation work being done by a conservation architect.

The Stables sleep up to 3 adults, but is ideal as a nice cosy retreat for a couple or a solo get away. Spend a weekend relaxing and re-energising in our self catering Stables.

Comfortable modern cottage in a sheltered garden with its own streamfront. In a quiet suburban setting, 10 minutes walk to Otaki Beach, our bach has generous outdoor living areas looking over the Waitohu Stream and onto a reserve. We chose it as our retreat because it is warm, private and sheltered from coastal winds, while still within the sound of the sea. For winter nights there's a woodburner and firewood. It's casual but tidy, fully furnished, and equipped as we would hope to find a bach we rent.
From the bach you'll be able to visit Otaki's outlet stores, explore the Tararuas, or take the rowboat for a lazy row down the stream to the beautiful, wide north end of Otaki Beach.

At the front are awesome sea views and at the rear are great views towards the Tararua hills and Otaki Forks. This property will suit a couple, or two couples, who want a relaxing beach holiday.

The property has been recently renovated and is well appointed with a new kitchen. There is a big TV with fast fibre internet and Chromecast for Netflix etc. The house is warm in winter with a firebox in the living room and lots of dry wood.

It is drenched with sunshine, with an enormous deck and flat grassy area to relax and unwind. Here you can enjoy an afternoon BBQ or cosy up beside the fire and watch the flames.

It is just a two minute walk to the nearest convenience store where you can get Fish and Chips, or two minutes to a great coffee shop. With home made food.

The Otaki township is just a few minutes drive and here you will find everything you need, including; Outlet Shops, Cafes, Restaurants, and Supermarkets.

Come and enjoy our refurbished and spacious family home. With all day sun and sea views it's the perfect place to unwind. It's warm with great indoor/outdoor living and with two newly installed heat pumps it's perfect for any season!

Otaki is the perfect escape, with its quaint shops and cute cafes and restaurants. Yet it's still only 1 hours drive from Wellington!

Our house is perfectly located, one street back from the beach and just a 5 minute drive from the main shops. At the end of our street you'll also find a convenience store. Our house is well spaced and split over two levels. Upstairs has two balconies both with sliding doors, allowing you to soak up the views over the Kapiti coast or at the rear with a BBQ looking over the wetlands.
Upstairs is the main living area with the kitchen, dining room and lounge (Tv with freeview and DVD). There's also the master queen bedroom and bathroom. Downstairs has a large games room (perfect for that odd rainy day) with a Tv (freeview and DVD) and sofa which doubles as the sofa bed. There are the two bedrooms, twin (1 single, 1 king single) and the queen, a toilet and shower and the mudroom with a washing machine. There is plenty of outdoor space at the rear with access to Waitohu stream, perfect for whitebaiting (small children must be supervised as it's not fenced). We have a kayak and life jackets, ideal for the stream or a small walk to the beach!

Our original Health camp road farm house is warm and cosy and just a short walk to Otaki beach.
The house features a fireplace, Air conditioning, 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, 2 toilets and two living areas.
The kitchen is well equipped with all your basic appliances including an electric jug/kettle, toaster, rice cooker and stick wizz. It also has a freestanding oven, a dishwasher and large fridge freezer. We also have a children's high chair available. There is a seperate laundry which you are welcome to use.

The house has 2x queen beds, a bunk bed and a cot, plus an additional portacot and fold out sofa bed in the conservatory.
Accommodating up to 6 people plus 2 infants.
Please note the bathroom in this house is small so keep this in mind when booking for a large group. However there are two toilets.

Relax in the sunny lounge / conservatory with a book, while the children enjoy our selection of games and toys. Or soak up the sun out on the lawn where we have an outdoor table and chairs ready for you to relax. The outdoor area is family and pet friendly and is fully fenced. There is also a playground a couple of hundred metres away around the corner and Otaki beach store where you can pick up some fish and chips or enjoy an ice cream on your walk home from the beach.
With our full office set up you can work from home (but at the beach). Making this the perfect work life balance getaway

Pets Policy:
The property is fully fenced.
We know how important it can be to have your pet join you on holiday. It's just not the same without them. We are happy to accept pets with prior approval. There is a pet fee of $30.
Please let us know when you book if you plan on bringing a pet or you maybe refused at check in.
There are spare dog bowls, pet towels, one medium dog bed and a bucket in the laundry for your pets use. Please do not use the kitchen crockery for your pets.

Smoking Policy:
Smoking is allowed OUTSIDE only, please dispose of your butts sensibly in the Paua shells. Please do not smoke in the house. If it is found that you have been smoking an extra cleaning fee will be added to your booking.

We are sustainability focused and offer a 4 way waste system. Including a compost bin, Recycling, soft plastics and rubbish. Plus sort your rubbish as best you can as we don't pay for wheelie bin pick up due to not always being able to put it out every fortnight. The bins are located behind the white gate beside the garage.

Walking distance to Annam Carram, the river and the beach! TV with steaming service loaded on.

No cleaning fee, but if you're uptight about these things I'm happy to get a professional cleaner in. It's a lived-in house not a holiday home so is fully stocked with things can use but happy to clear things out upon requests.

Cottage was cute, beds werent the best but they did the job. Alex was great at communication and helpful."

Otaki Motel is an 8-minute drive from Otaki Golf Club and a 30-minute drive from Otaki Forks, the entrance to Tararua Forest National Park. Since the development of the Transmission Gully Expressway the Interisland Ferry Terminal is now only 53 minutes' drive away. The air-conditioned rooms include a patio and a TV with 50 Sky cable channels. In some of the units, some of the older style mini-ovens have been replaced with an induction stovetop and a separate mini-oven, but each unit still has a microwave and toaster. If you would like to request a unit with a mini-oven, please let us know when placing your booking. The private bathrooms have all now been renovated and each includes a shower and free toiletries. Otaki Motel also offers laundry facilities. Towels and linen are provided. Each of the units has now been renovated so that they have sound-proofing, insulation and double-glazing, and noise from the Expressway has been mitigated by bunding. Some noises can still be heard from occasional passing trains, but otherwise the units are much more peaceful and quiet.

The kitchen is lovely and has lots of benchspace for preparing meals. There is a lot of outdoor area for children to play. There are alot of shade trees and it makes for a relaxing property to unwind in. The sea is about 15 mins drive away and there is a river about the same distance for swimming.
