- "We were a little unsure prior to arrival about the check in process as the messaging system on VRBO app is not used by owner. I had sent a few emails to inquire prior to arrival with no response as to door code etc. which made us a little nervous prior to arrival. Being first timers to London, not knowing the areas and having just an address, added to the apprehension and communication prior to arrival would have eased that. Other than that, the property is in a great location, was clean, the concierge was super helpful and friendly. The unit itself was clean and equipped with all we needed. The pantry on the first floor was a wonderful added bonus. Just being able to grab a few things in the morning and a quick coffee was delightful before heading out to explore. The location made it easy to find our way to bus lines and underground systems. I'd recommend this property to friends and family."

The Neighborhood:
Frankie Says that you have to stay in Borough, as it arguably one of Central London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods; a totally gorgeous and immersive 'melting pot' that is famous for its gastronomic and cultural delights.
Bordered by the Thames to the north, you are also next to the incredible Southwark Cathedral and the historic Clink Street. But importantly, you are ridiculously close to the complete foodie heaven that is Borough Market. This is the original Food Hall experience, but with worldwide punching power – you will never be hungry for boredom!
Just a few minutes away is what Frankie Says is the coolest High street in London – Bermondsey Street. Packed full of coffee, pints, food, wine, cakes and much intrigue. Old world charm meets a crisp modern England. Next door to Bermondsey Street is Maltby Street market, another haven for foodies, whilst you must promise to visit the Vinegar Market on a Sunday – its packed is unique oddities.
To the back of our funky house is the ground-breaking Borough Yards, a recent development that saw railway arches turned into a clutch of dining and shopping experiences, with even it’s own Everyman cinema!
You can see the Shard from our terrace, so take a trip up to the top, to London’s best viewing gallery, and look down up Tower Bridge, Shad Thames and The Tower of London, all that are just a quick walk away.
We know you will be star struck by this pocket of London. It’s unrivalled in our opinion, authentic and original, but modern and smooth. But just in case you want to explore elsewhere then pop down to the Jubilee line underground station, only 190m away, at London Bridge station. Or hop on an Uber boat at London Bridge Pier. But, you’re be back to Borough before you know it…Borough always drags you back.
Getting Around:
Getting around Borough and London Bridge? It’s a walk in the park! Start at London Bridge Station (Jubilee or Northern Line), where you can catch the iconic view of the Shard. Fancy food? Borough Market has enough grub to make your stomach do a happy dance. History? Visit the medieval Southwark Cathedral or cross the Thames to check out Tower Bridge. For a bit of drama, stand on London Bridge and pretend you're in a thriller as the city pulses below you. Who’s got time for dull commutes? Not you!
- "The location was amazing! A little loud at night, especially on weekends... but you cannot beat this location! It was an great spot for my large family traveling for the first time to London! I would definitely stay again!" - "This was a perfect apartment for my family. It had 4 bedrooms on 3 levels. One of the teenagers stayed in the apartment and felt so grown up having her own kitchen. It was next door to Boroughs Market so everyone could choose their own food. Public transportation was only a block away. Overall, this was a great experience."

Not you!
- "-The building is split into 3 units and we booked all 3 as we had 11 people. Frankie Says had locked us out of two of the units when we arrived.-Sent us on a wild goose chase across London for a key that didn't exist-Spoke to us like they were doing is a favor letting us stay there, rather than a group who had paid a vast amount (not good value). -Top room temps got up to 36C, even with fans. -Not suitable for families due to the endless noise from bars and rubbish trucks.-The kids feet were covered in dirt when walking on the floors. Seemed like the floors hadn't been washed for years. -Borough market itself is great, so would come back to the area.-The beds were comfortable."

This is a gorgeous one bedroom flat in the heart of London just a stones throw from the Southbank in Waterloo.
The flat is extremely well located for walking along the river to the Tate modern or Borough market or you can hop on the underground at Waterloo which is a 4min walk away to access the Jubilee, Northern and Bakerloo lines as well as the overground rail network.
The flat has everything you need from bedding and towels to cooking essentials, coffee maker and large screen wifi TV. Of course we also have central heating and AC in the bedroom for the summer months.
There is also a cute outdoor space which is private to the flat.
- "Pros: Comfortable bed, fantastic location to tube, river walk, restaurants. Apartment was clean. Property manager very responsive. Cons: Only two towels for 8day stay. No written instructions on use of washer/dryer (property manager came by to explain). Peculiar lighting system. No useable outdoor space (there is an outdoor patio area but it is dirty, full of weeds, no furniture to use). Interior hallway of building is nasty. Tiny bathroom."

And around the markets are some wonderful old pubs like The George which is London's only surviving galleried coaching inn.
- "We had an amazing time in London and the house made it all the more enjoyable! We stayed as a family of 4, with two relatively small children, and the location of this house was perfect for us to pretty much walk or get the tube everywhere! It is conveniently located to food shops, and you really can't beat a 2 minute walk to Borough Market! The accommodation was very comfortable as well, allowing all of us our own sleeping rooms, a good sized living area and family bathroom, and the outside balcony was fantastic. Everything was extremely clean and tidy. I really can't speak highly enough of this property! Definitely one of the best we've stayed in. And for those not traveling with kids, the location is also perfect for the nightlife on the river! Great pubs and restaurants all under a 5 minute walk away!"

- "Stayed with my family (wife and a 12-year-old child) and our experience was delightful. This is nicely remodeled modern property with some historical twists. Positives: - Location right by Borough Market and Borough Yards with cozy restaurants and bars, close to a tube station (we used Uber though). - Spacious balcony with patio chairs and a view to Shard tower and Borough Market. - Modern kitchen with everything possible you would need for a short stay. - Couch in the living room could fit our child even without unfolding - Extra bedding was available for our child at the master bedroom’s closet - Nice TV with Netflix (although we didn’t have time to use it) - Cool and authentic old English-style bathroom - Comfortable bed (seems like Queen size) - Table with chairs at the kitchen that I used also as a working station Needs some improvement (although these things were not a big deal for us): - Left vanity light didn’t work in the bathroom - Toilet paper holder was obviously broken - Lion door knocker was a bit detached on the right side Some things we were ok with, but I guess people need to know it in advance: - No elevator, 2 narrow stair cases - Extremely squeaky floor on the bedroom/bathroom level - Pictures show a super long balcony, it’s actually a half of it because another half is for your neighbors from the next apartment. Overall, we as a family had a great experience, explored restaurants and Tower Bridge by foot."
