- "Kristi’s getaway located right on Lake Zoar was an absolute dream. We stayed as newlyweds for a “mini moon” before our honeymoon in 2 months. It was quaint and peaceful. Kristi was incredibly communicative before and during our stay. We arrived earlier than expected so our code didn’t work initially but Kristi made sure we could get in within minutes. There was a small welcome basket with K-cups, snacks, and water, as well as neatly folded towels on the bed. There weren’t any blinds overlooking the lake when we stayed, but there are blinds on every other window. We didn’t mind because it meant waking up with sunrise and a gorgeous lakefront view, plus there aren’t any properties that can see into that window next to the bed. The shared space down by the lake wasn’t used by anyone else while we were there, so we were content having a quiet lakeside breakfast. We didn’t get to enjoy the fire pit but it’s there for use if you purchase firewood. If you are 6+ feet tall, you may have to crouch in the entrance/kitchen area but the ceiling opens up by the bed. Also, it is a little bit of a steep gravel hill to walk up and down to the apartment. We’re active folks so it wasn’t bad but it’s something to keep in mind if you stay here. Also, we didn’t have phone service so we were happy there was WiFi but if we ordered an Uber and walked up to meet them, there was a delay with updates due to spotty service. Regardless, nothing could deter us from coming back! It was wonderful and clean."

This is a nice clean seperate apartment with own amenities (except for stove) for anyone needing anywhere from a night to weeks of boarding. Only minutes from the highway; route 8, Merrit parkway and I-95. Guests can do self check-in. Lockbox on door available and amenities include, kitchenette with microwave, fridge, kettle, coffee, tea and hot choclate. Utensils available. Pleasant Valley Trails is part of Shelton's 28 mile trail system. Yet, we are only a short drive (14- 15 miles) to Bridgeport or New Haven, and close to fresh water or salt water beaches.

- "Home is located back from the road, very quiet. Lots of wildlife outside. Home was built in 1952, all hand made cabinets and lots of built ins. House was very clean. There had been a leak in the roof by the bathroom in the hallway that needs repair. Lots of space inside with a very large eat-in kitchen. Washer and dryer worked great. Easy access to Jones Family Farm and highway." - "We came to Connecticut from California to look at colleges. I found this gem and couldn't resist its beautiful charm. The house is surrounded by beautiful tree-lined roads and a very serene view out the windows from the kitchen to the living area. There is a pond in which geese , turtles , and fish live. It was very comfortable and ideal if you appreciate nature and quiet surroundings. The only thing I would recommend is curtains in the living area. It truly was a memorable stay! Groups of visitors and party-size visitors are not allowed. Please ask for approval if you have visitors, and fees for additional guests will apply.

— QUIET HOURS: 8 pm to 8 am. Keep outside noise low during this time, and please move conversations inside. The home is located in a family setting and is only suitable for families, business professionals, and quieter groups. Please be respectful of the owners and the neighbors. Loud, late-night disturbances will be fined $500 accordingly.

— Exterior security cameras monitoring in place.

— Late checkout is not allowed.
