Considering no one in our group was celebrating any special occasion, imagine our surprise when the staff presented us with a cake while serenading us with a song. Once the celebratory song was over, staff explained it was a 'welcome back' cake - which had been organised by Shiela and was greatly appreciated. The car had no brake or transmission fluids and an corroded alternator wire - Eli stayed at the mechanic while we got some food next door The mechanics also said the front tire was shot but they were closing and Eli actually swapped out the bad tire for the spare the next morning before we went to Ngorongoro crater And, after we checked out for our trip to Serengeti, lilac hideaway coordinated with their sister hotel to let us leave our car and extra luggage at that hotel and then arranged for a taxi to take us to the airport and then to pick us up on return to go back and get our bags and car All about customer service at the lilac hotels!"

Our lodge type room was lovely but we would have liked a fridge in the room. The beach was just a short walk away but the road outside the hotel that lead to the beach bar could have been better with some lighting. The breakfast was very nice but we thought the days when it was buffet style rather than a la carte was a much better idea. We had a massage during our stay which was very good and great value for money. All the staff were excellent and so helpful. We would definitely recommend Aluna. "
