- "Gorgeous hotel. Wonderful staff. We spent 2 nights here in a lovely room that opened onto an immaculate lawn and gardens. The hotel goes to great lengths to create a wonderful experience for its guests. The day we checked in, there was a star gazing party complete with telescopes and an enthusiastic astronomer. The llamas in the lobby everyday were adorable. The musician playing the Andean harp and other traditional instruments at breakfast was awesome. Pre arrival communication was good but not great. I ran out of shampoo whilst taking a shower. Rooms didnt have AC or TV that I could tell. Pool couldve used some skimming of debris. We spent several hours trying, including an early morning effort from 5 a.m. to 11 a.m., but without success. While we understand that weather can be unpredictable, more accurate information about the conditions would have helped set realistic expectations. We didn’t have hot water in our room when we arrived. While another room was offered just for showering before guests arrived, we opted not to use it, as moving in the cold and knowing other guests would be arriving made it feel inconvenient. Additionally, the bathroom window lacked proper covering, leading to an uncomfortable incident. Finally, noise was a challenge. The wooden construction allows sound to travel easily, so we could hear other guests walking, talking, and showering, which disrupted the relaxing environment we had hoped for. While Spirit of the Lodge has a lot of potential, these issues detracted from our experience. "

- "Beautiful property and wonderful staff. Breakfast was always delicious. A great place to escape the noise of the city." - "nice hot shower and staff" - "Staff was very accommodating despite that no one spoke any English. Thankfully the use of a translator app helped a great deal. The property is beautiful however we were not shown or given the opportunity to use the yoga, meditation, mud room or sauna and we were there 1 week. Breakfast was the same every morning 2 scrambled eggs, bread, fruit, fresh juice and sometime cereal. The sign outside the cafe indicates English/American breakfast & pancakes, all you can eat, that is not the case. The on-site security guard was a gem! We had booked several early morning tours and he was up with us at 4a, and waited for us at late hours of the night when we got in (the lodge is gated & locked). By far the best shower in Peru, sounds silly but the water pressure and hot water was a dream to come home to after a long day of trekking, white water rafting and other activities. The lodge is about 5-10 min from the main road, very peaceful which I really liked as we were there during elections and there were very loud rally’s in the square. I highly recommend Heroes Pub/Bar for drinks and food."

During our stay, Kuychi Rumi earned this highest rated due to the fantastic rooms, room service, and their prompt manager Johan. He went above and beyond his call of duty to make sure we felt at home. After all, how often do you get your refrigerator stocked the previous night just because you have to leave at 5 am the next morning? Most hotel staff wouldn't care. But Johan does :-) On our first morning, Johan took us on a 30-minute walk around the town and telling us so many things about the Peruvian rural life. In a country where finding English speaking people in rural areas is difficult, this proved to be a great introduction to the culture. As for the room itself, it is fabulous. Lovely gardens, butterflies, flowers blooming, a nice patio, and a fireplace in the room that Johan helps to start. Location is convenient, with a dollar and 10 minutes away from the main market. I highly recommend Kuychi Rumi. "

- "Orlando took great care of us and even provided late night taxi service. Break fast buffet was the best." - "Property was a bit out the way but the grounds were beautiful. Landacape and flowers were so pretty with the mountains in the background. 3 Alpacas/Llamas on site... wish they were more friendly but still made for great pictures. Wish there was more on site to do. We did walk out and up to the left found a Butterfly museum. It was nice to learn about Mariposas. Room was big with high celings. Wich made for a very cold night. Room did have a space heater, but needed 2 to fill the space. A bigger table to eat on would be nice as well. Bathroom set up should have a door to close off from room but toilet is seperate from sink and shower area, but nowhere to get dressed in private. No wash clothes. $20 fee if you get the towel dirty. Even though the floor was wet a d had to wipe it up with the smallest towel. Walter was very nice. Spoke good english and remembered my name the next morning! Rudy was very helpful with laundry and getting us fruit before we.left for an afternoon adventure. She even helped my son with warming up his leftover pizza. Karlo was nice at first. But when trying to coordinate a ride to the train station, itvwas very frustrating as he kept trying to push a hotel in Aguas Calientes vs helping us get to the station on time. He was charging more than uber and not caring we were going to be late.and miss the train.."

- "Beautiful spot about 7 min away from the Plaza de Armas via Tuk Tuk. Lots of plants around, comfy bed, *beautiful* breakfast, cute cat :), great hospitality. I would definitely consider staying here again when I come back to Urubamba. Also, the neighborhood is so beautiful. It was great just to walk around and have such gorgeous mountain views. There's also a couple small convenience stores nearby for water, snacks, and other necessities."
