The deck is a perfect spot to watch the boats go by. Take the boat out for a cruise down the Huron River and 6 adjoining Lakes. It's so much fun to explore the lakes, and jumping off the pontoon (or your own boat) to swim, is a great way to cool off and relax. (Pontoon included, during summer season and three kayaks.)

Children will enjoy a sandy area to play near the lake. We have life jackets, lawn games and sand toys for your use too. This is a great place for grandparents who want a special vacation homey rental to look forward to returning to year after year!

For those who enjoy cooking on vacation, we have a well equipped kitchen and a propane gas and barbecue grill for your use too. The kitchen, dinning area overlook the lake, so you won't miss the views while preparing meals.
If you want to roast some hotdogs, there's a fire pit by the lake. There are nice chairs surrounding the fire pit, for your convenience. The chairs come in handy too for watching children by the lake.
A trip to Zukey Lake Travern is a must on Wednesday nights, order one of their large speciality pizza's and get a free tee shirt.
We also have a few bikes available for making use of the Lakeland Trails, just 1/2 mile from our place.

Our bedrooms are set up to make sure you are comfortable, soft sheets and a variety of pillows are offered. Each room has an extra set of sheets and blankets in case you should need them. The main bedroom is large enough to set up a crib, the queen room also has space.
Children love the main bathroom"s large spa type shower and the large jetted tub. It's a great way to end the day for both adults and children! The twin bed room, has a floor mattress, that slides out easily for the extra child.
The middle bedroom is a queen sized mattress, that is extra soft. All bedrooms have a ceiling fan to help lure you to sleep after a full day of fun.
The fireplace room, or conversation room, is great for a quiet place to read or converse. It also serves as an extra sleeping area. We have a sofa bed, that pulls out a full sized air mattress. Also a queen sized air mattress is available, for more guests. We advertise sleeping for six, but occasionally there is a need for more beds, and we have the sofa bed and air mattress available. September is still warm, kayaking and boating is even more relaxing! October is a great time for campfires and fishing.(catch and release only) The lake is quiet Our kayaks are available and a trip down the gentle Huron River is the perfect way to see the fall foliage.

Our convenient location makes our home a great central meeting place for family to enjoy Special occasions. If you have an event, let us know and we will let you know how others have managed parking and tent set up. Our lot is large, so we provide a wagon to bring toys,life jackets, firewood and food back and forth from the house. Children love our large sandbox located close to the water. Hauling water up to the sand box, keeps children busy for hours. Our deck has a table for 8-10 and a smaller table that sits 4. Two lounge chairs complete the scene.

Our kitchen and living room are open and face the lake, giving you beautiful views. Our home is fully equipped to provide a wonderful vacation for you and your family or friends. In the early morning get up to enjoy the sun rising over the lake. It's beautiful. During the day boating on the lakes is so fun. Enjoy the pontoon boat or take the kayaks out for the day. In the evening, a campfire is a must, roast hotdogs and sing songs. After,go for late night ride to experience the starry night and the full moon, its so relaxing...

What to do, when you're not on the lake???: For your dining pleasure, you can boat to Zukey Lake Tavern. It is appropriate for the entire family, and There are many wonderful other dining experiences within a 5 mile radius, just head to M-36 and go in either direction.
For the Golfer, there are ten public courses within ten miles, My favorite places are the Links At Whitmore Lake and Whispering Pines Golf Course. The Links is very reasonable and offers an unique golfing experience.

For the shopper or movie buff, head into Ann Arbor or Brighton there are malls and resale shops everywhere!
Visit the small town of Hamburg, which features a Chinese restaurant, Hamburg pup and a Hamburg museum. Make sure you look up the museum for their days open.(It changes by season) On m36, there is a Krogers, Jets Pizza, Coney Island and a dollar store and many other stores.

Fall and Winter on the Chain: The Huron River Chain of Lakes in the fall is beautiful. The abundant wildlife is easier to see, and the flocks of birds heading north overhead is amazing. In November (late fall) the river is a popular place for duck, cranes and deer to visit. There are also many local school plays during the school year that are quite professional and craft markets abound.
Football fans travel here to attend the nearby football games at the University of Michigan, they enjoy the peace and quiet at the end of the day!

House Rules

- CHECK-IN: Check in time is 3:00 p.m. on your day of arrival. Earlier/ Late arrivals may be accommodated please coordinate arrival time directly with the owner.
- CHECK-OUT: Check out time is 10:00 a.m. on your day of departure. We will be often having guests leaving and arriving the same day this allows for only a small window of opportunity for cleaning and maintenance.
- CLEANING: Help keep our cleaning fees LOW-Leave the cottage as you found it; in broom clean condition, dishes washed put away, used towels put in the shower area. Extra cleaning time will be billed at $30 per hour if needed. PLEASE DO NOT CLEAN ANY FISH IN THE LAKEHOUSE.
- WHAT WE SUPPLY: The Lakehouse is set up as a fully furnished property that will include bedspreads, linens, blankets, 6 pillows, 8 bath towels, fully equipped kitchen and furnishings. Paper products are supplied but will not be replaced if consumed. Propane gas barbecue grill along with salt, pepper and foil are stocked by the owner. You should bring personal items such as bath soap, shampoo and toiletries. Extra beach towels are always recommended, people we are at the lake.
- SMOKING: Smoking is not allowed in the Lakehouse. If the smell of smoke is detected indoors after your visit a 200.00 cleaning fee will be assessed.
- FIRES: For insurance purposes the indoor fireplace is not to be used. Please keep outside fires inside of the fire ring, never leave a fire unattended and use a water bucket to completely extinguish any fires after use. Please turn the propane gas off on the barbecue grill after use.
- WEATHER: Owners do not assume any liability for loss, damage or injury to persons or their personal property. Neither do we accept liability for any inconveniences arising from any temporary defects or stoppage in supply of water, gas, electricity or plumbing. Nor will owners accept liability for any loss or damage caused by weather/road conditions natural disasters, acts of God or other reasons beyond our control.
- MAINTENANCE: Property owners will diligently attempt to address maintenance issues as they occur. If a maintenance issue occurs that cannot be fixed in a reasonable amount of time, and significantly affects the tenant’s stay; property owners reserve the right to refund at their discretion.
- GUESTS: No more than 4 overnight guests are permitted. Any additional day guests must be approved by the owners prior to arrival.
- PETS: No pets will be allowed
- You must also acknowledge: Must climb stairs
- Potential for noise - Fireworks during the summertime. Noise must be kept down after 10 pm; this is a neighborhood.
- Please no glass bottles near the water.

Main house has 2 bedrooms. The master bedroom has a King size bed, the second bedroom has one set of bunk beds. The lower bed is a full size, the upper is twin. There is a 'port a crib' with a mattress as well.

Also on the property is a two story guest house with a full bathroom, laundry, efficiency kitchen, dining table, & patio on the lake. Upstairs in the guest house is a loft bedroom with four twin size beds, one full size bed, and two fold up cots with mattresses, the perfect spot for your children or guests!

The property is private and has enough parking for 6 vehicles and is located just 3 minutes off of US-23.

Whitmore Lake is situated just 10 minutes north of Ann Arbor and the University of Michigan, 30 minutes from Detroit Metro Airport, and 40 minutes from Flint Airport. On the south end of the lake is a marina with bait, tackle, beer, food and ice cream. Two miles from the house is a full grocery store, post office, restaurant, and gas station.
No powerboats or jet skis are included in this rental. The Marina on the lake does rent pontoon boats by the day.

Do know that our dock is "seasonal" and is usually in from May until Oct. Sometimes, we can put the dock in the water in April. It depends on our lovely Michigan weather. Please inquire before booking if you need to know. The dock is in place for your relaxation pleasure. Please inquire if you wish to bring a boat. No rentals are available on this lake. The floating pontoon with the propane fire pit we leave up all year long for you to cozy up to.

FYI... For those not familiar with lake living, homes are within close proximity of each other. We are hoping for guests who are looking for a peaceful retreat and enjoy some quiet couple/family time. No parties, foul language, or large gatherings as we want to be respectful of our neighbors on the lake. This lot is 28ft wide. Our own home personal lake lot is directly next door, so you may see us out at our dock/beach frequently, but we will not invade your privacy or space.

A five minute drive to the Legacy Sports Center, ten minutes to downtown Brighton & 25 minutes to Ann Arbor. In addition there are many great parks, trails, restaurants, shopping centers and fun activities within a short drive.

The hosts are very friendly and easy to communicate with. This is such a great location to get to so many towns activities and sporting events, and the community has a great walking /biking trail near by that is great! Enjoy this cozy lakefront cottage on a small, private lake with great views located about two miles south of Brighton, MI. It features about 1,100 sf, an open floor plan with plenty of windows. The great room has a volume ceiling with fan and a fireplace. Dining area has a picture window to the deck and lake beyond. Full kitchen is behind the dining area and full laundry around the corner. Bedroom one has a queen bed, second has a double. Third bedroom is reserved for owner storage.

- "Great" - "The cottage was perfect for our girls' trip! The place was very clean and well appointed. We used one of the kayaks along with a large raft float we brought, and we had some marvelous time out on the lake. Unfortunately we did not have a chance to use the bikes, though we would have liked to. Having the grill and the firepit were wonderful and convenient. It did rain during our trip, but we were able to head out for some shopping in Howell and Brighton and be back when the sun came out. "

Zukey Lake's Decktop Tavern is a mile away, and there is plenty of incredible dining options in Brighton (20 minutes north) and Ann Arbor (30 minutes south). If cooking at home is more your style, there is a fully loaded kitchen at your disposal as well as a blackstone propane grill. The patio features patio furniture and a bonfire pit. Bass Lake Manor sleeps up to 9 comfortably, and the main floor is a completely open space for spending time with your family.
