The beach is 200 metres away on a pebbled beach, lovely to take the kids exploring the pools and they loved the “fishing” for shrimps and crabs with pool nets which they had in the shed. Children loved the swing and slide in the garden too. he 3 side veranda is excellent. We did not use the pool table; young kids. For the adults, restaurants are not far (approx.. 5km) and the town is small with bustle but void of loud noise. The market for fruits and vegetables and meat is fantastic. My son and his wife loved the cycling and walking…. Things to do is plentiful. We have stayed in executive housing in Florida, USA and found Nicholas and Celine place had a perfect guest guide book. It even had easy instruction leaflets on all the electric and mechanical devices. The place compares in the same league as luxury housing and lovely spots of France. We spend a lot of time in great places in Mauritius, Naples, Nice, Crete and Cyprus. This is another great hideaway since The property is mostly good for wheelchair users too! ENJOY. The Paradis family was waiting for us at arrival. They guided us through the house and surroundings. They stay a couple of days in a caravan near the house. But it is seperated enough. This is not disturbing. On they other hand it can be usefull to have a someone arround that knows the place and the language. We will definitly come to this place if we visit the vendee again. "

- "Lovely location, nice and quiet, cottage looking a little tired inside inside and garden a little overgrown. Had a lovely relaxing holiday." - "This is a small, maritime themed cottage, which could easily achieve a personal higher star rating. It is generally well equipped and the mezzanine bedroom (that we used) had very comfortable beds. The small downstairs bedroom would be useful if you didn’t fancy the quirky stairs to the mezzanine floor, but we much preferred the open plan aspect of being upstairs. The provision of towels etc. was a plus as too was the private paved garden, also it was only a 2 minute stroll to one of the best beaches, an ideal location. The shower is very compact and the base a little tired, but a great hot water supply. There were a few things that stopped us from rating this higher. The oven in the kitchen does not work, a microwave is there, but micro-waved Croissants don’t taste as good! The plugs in the two sinks are faulty and look like they have been for a while, so the water just runs through. Recently somebody has stayed there with a dog and the upstairs especially smells very ‘doggy’ by the bed and we found quite a few dog hairs on the floor and under things. The Hoover too smelt the same. The Internet is under ‘General’ and we presumed there was Internet in the house. This isn’t the case, although it seems you can visit the Marie to use the account, but there is little point in doing that since the harbour has a good free wifi service. The pedal bin lid in the kitchen rusted through and snapped off whilst we were there, and although we were told it would be replaced (presumably after we left) the condition of it meant that it was apparent it should have been replaced much earlier. The paintwork too is badly damaged in quite a few places. Everything needs to be refreshed, repainted and replaced if old and worn, not to wait for it to finally break, although we have no idea of how long it is since the oven worked. This isn’t a cheap rental cottage and we feel that it should include a proper clean at the end of each rental instead of the occupants cleaning it themselves or paying an extra fee to have it done. Of course it should be regularly kept clean as you would do your own home, but it was apparent that the final ‘departure clean’ is often rushed because the occupants are wanting to start their journey home. Not-withstanding the paragraph above we really enjoyed our stay at Number 4. It is beautifully quiet, comfortable, near the beach and the forest. A 15 minute walk to the harbour and its restaurants – it could be the perfect rental!!"

The house is 150 m2 and is divided into two wings connected by a winter garden. The "night" wing consists of 3 bedrooms, each with two single beds (80cm) that can be joined together to form a bed of 160cm, and a bathroom. The day wing consists of a spacious fitted kitchen, a dining room and a living room with a large TV and a wood-burning stove and a large bedroom on the first floor with a shower room (the "master suite").

All of these rooms open to the outside via large glass doors and the rooms are always bathed in light. The house is cool and there are fans available if needed.

This is primarily our holiday home, which we are renting for the first time this year. You will find all the necessary equipment (microwave, oven, gas hob, wifi, dishwasher, kettle, coffee machine, barbecue, fans, etc.) simple but functional. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.

Cleaning is included in the price.

Bedding & Linen: You will be provided with disposable bed sheets. Sheets are not provided but you can contact our concierge to rent some and even, for 10 € per bed, prepare them for you before your arrival. However, we cannot provide you with towels or tea towels as we cannot wash them systematically between two rentals.

Jard-sur-Mer is a family seaside resort and the environment of the villa is very preserved.

Everything is accessible by bike via numerous cycle paths (the port, the town centre, the Super U, the salt marshes, the oyster beds, the beaches...) but the property offers plenty of parking space.
