Bus stops for the station (no. 2-5) and airport (Alibus) were round the corner. It was a 20 minute walk to the old part of town down wide main streets. Many restaurants are in the vicinity. Our 3-day visit enabled us to explore Catania, Syracusa and Taormina. It's a good base for a city break which feels like it offers a more real life experience than just a tourist spot. A wide range of shopping experience possible from many quality individual shops to market stalls. People were friendly and we weren't hustled more than in any other city. We didn't try any bars or clubs. "
