Never felt so mistreated and advert misleading. When I did ring the office number they give you, I never got reply. I rang a mobile number I had for them and the man answered, "this is above my pay grade, ring the office". They have refused to communicate with me. "

- "I needed immediate help when the sat sav dumped me nearby & my host talked me all the way to the front door which was a huge relief. The accommodation is dated but I knew that from the photos it was very clean though & i was surprised to find all the essentials had ben left. I wasn’t expecting that so had brought it all with me. The bed was very comfortable, the shower was lovely & the washing machine was handy. The area was very noisy though as it is right in town above a bar & I was there at the weekend. Every amenity you could need is on your doorstep, shops, bars, places to eat & a gym on your doorstep. Parking is a downside as its only from 4.30pm-8.30am on this occasion it wasn’t a problem as I had a course all 3 days so had to go somewhere else anyway. I did have a problem with the heating on the last night & it was freezing but my host did drive over very late to fix it as it was a bitter cold night. "

If you used this as a bed it would be in your open plan living room/dining room/kitchen with no cupboards/drawers/wardrobe in this room. It would also require you to move the dining table or partially block access to the living room. That aside, the main thing for me is that it is clean, which this apartment definitely is. It feels like it is regularly cleaned. The only downside I would say is that it smells like a regular smoker lived there. This is partially masked by the air freshners plugged in but it still smells a bit off. The bedroom is fine with space for luggage and a comfy bed. The open plan area is fine, with a well stocked kitchen and a lovely outdoor patio area. The sofa isn't very comfortable and is positioned strangely in relation to the TV. The bathroom is clean and tidy. The shower pressure is OK. The host did not email me with details of how to get into the house. I had to send 2 emails before they provided me with the details. Overall a nice enough stay but should not be advertised as a 2-bed apartment."

With the train station and sea front both within walking distance it is a great location to explore East Kent. My place is a beautiful, light, one-bedroom maisonette right next to Dane Park.
It is situated 5 minutes taxi ride from the train station, and is about the same time to the beach (20 minutes walk).
The apartment is newly renovated with modern fixtures, including a brand new kitchen diner with an open space living room. Upstairs boasts a large victorian bathroom with a huge freestanding bath, jack and jill twin basins and stunning 200 year old floorboards. Not one to miss!

The space
One of it's most redeeming features is the unique wooden cladding on the walls and a barn door which leads into the open kitchen area. The bedroom has a kingsize bed and a small library of books to peruse.

Hire bikes and explore the town, and the surrounding areas such as the Viking trail, Botany Bay, Broadstairs and Ramsgate. These beaches are sandy and are accompanied by great white cliffs, which make for scenic rides and stunning picnic settings.

Margate is currently the UK's most up-and-coming and talked about seaside town with attractions such as; Margate's large sandy beach, Dreamland, Shell Grotto (6 mins walk), cafes (Cliffs cafe and Fort's are favourites) boutique shops in the old town, old pubs, a museum, and much more all within walking/cycling distance of the flat! GB Pizza Co. on the beach at sunset is a must!

**Please note there is no shower it is a bath only- guests are advised to leave plenty of time for bathing. Any excuse to share a bath with a glass of wine of an evening!

Please note: my apartment not central but you can see on the map it is very close to the sea and town. You can walk or get taxis for around £3 into the centre. You can get around very easily by car. Please do not book if you are looking for the old town.

The Hodges is a bright and airy second floor flat overlooking Margate's historic Trinity Square and is within a couple of minutes walking distance of the Old Town, seafront, Winter Gardens and Turner Contemporary art gallery. Ideal for enjoying seaside fun and adventuring to nearby beaches such as Botany Bay and Kingsgate. The comfortable large double bed complete with Egyptian cotton linens makes for restful sleeping.

The space
The flat comprises a large bedroom/living area, a separate kitchen complete with oven/hob, fridge, microwave and tea and coffee making facilities and a separate bathroom with loo, shower and sink. Towels and toiletries including shampoo, shower gel and conditioner are included as well as coffee, tea and various condiments. Smart TV and wifi are also included as well as a free Netflix account.

The flat is on the third floor, with its own entrance, bedroom, lounge, shower room and fully equipped kitchen - please help yourself to teas and coffees. The bedroom offers a comfortable bed for a good night's sleep, and has wireless phone chargers available. You can also find a multi charger in the lounge, as well as a map of Margate and the local surrounding area, perfect for those interested in some coastal hiking.

The front room benefits from some absolutely stunning afternoon light and is perfect for watching the sunset.

Some supplies are provided, including an assortment of teas, ground coffee and capsules for the coffee machine, and some toiletries. There is a Morrisons and Aldi supermarket about a 5-10 minute walk away from the flat.

The flat is located a 10 minute walk from Margate station, which connects you to London St Pancras International in about 90 minutes, as well as London Victoria, Canterbury, and Ramsgate. Taxis are available at the station and will cost approximately £4-5.

Please note that the flat is on the top floor up 2 relatively steep but short flights of steps and there is no lift in the building.
