- "My boyfriend and I had an overnight stay at Little Dane Court a couple of weeks ago after a dining experience on The Kent and East Sussex Railway. This hotel is a converted grade 2 listed building with several rooms. We stayed in the Courtyard room which had brilliant underfloor heating (in fact it was a little too hot during the evening), lots of cute oriental artefacts and a large amount of space. The kimono style robes and slippers are a lovely editions, as well as the little chocolate eggs alongside the tea and coffee. Rod was a lovely host; he saw us in and recommended a bar in the evening (which we took him up on and enjoyed!) He told us we were the only people staying at the hotel and whilst friendly, he was not overbearing which some hosts can be when there are not many people staying in the accommodation. He made us a cooked breakfast the following day and quickly responded to emails. In addition, the room was prepared for 12pm (even though the check in time is 4pm) so we had plenty of time to wind down and get ready; enjoying the room. This did not come at an extra charge and was extremely helpful. The hotel is at the end of the 'high street' so the perfect location in Tenterden too. Thank you Rod for your hospitality!"

- "This hotel is housed in a beautiful, centuries old building with remarkable charm; you'll feel transported to medieval England in a very good way. However, the age of the building does come with some negatives; the stairs to my room (2) were quite steep, and the room itself was just big enough to house the king size bed within it. Additionally, the walls are quite thin, so you'll hear activity from the restaurant below until about 11pm, and potentially later from adjacent rooms (I could clearly hear my neighbour snoring!). None of this was an issue for me, as I sleep late and heavy, but I imagine it could be serious for some. What made the trip worth it however was the food; oh the food! I travel for work and pleasure easily 50+ times a year, and I can honestly say that it's difficult to remember a time I've had better food than this. The chef(s) offer a perfect combination of rustic Britishness with European refinement, and powerful flavours to bring it all home. Honestly, even if the rest of my stay had been a 3 star experience, I would've returned again just 5o experience their culinary delights once more. To briefly summarise; I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough to food lovers, but advise caution for light sleepers (though they do provide complimentary earplugs)."

If you're visiting this area I would recommend staying here, I don't think you'd be disappointed. The only thing to consider is that it is a townhouse with lots of stairs, so if mobility issues that is your only drawback. Otherwise, get booking! "

Your room is the Peacock Room and the house is 10 minutes walk from the historic and vibrant City of Canterbury. This little grade2 listed Georgian house is filled with character and a perfect getaway. Very conveniently situated. The rooms are within this Grade 2 listed building in the heart of Dover. The building lies within the Dover Castle conservation area which was formed in 1970. The property is in a good central location close to Dover Town Centre, Dover Castle and Ferry Port, it is also a 2 minute walk to St James Retail & Leisure Park that offers fantastic retail and leisure facilities in the heart of Dover and South Kent. Dover Castle is an 8 minute walk away and other fascinating historical places are within close walking distance including the famous White Cliffs of Dover. Some of the rooms in this property have a spectacular view of Dover Castle which looks amazing illuminated at night.

There is also a smaller kitchenette located on the second floor in the property for additional convenience.

We have a large 5 bed family home, we are a quiet family, only one of our 5 children still live at home. It's a tranquil place to be and is our little piece of heaven by the sea.

Please note there are no cooking facilities, however we will happily allow you to store things in our fridge and order food in.

We have 2 very friendly dogs, whom would lick you to death if allowed and 2 very timid cats, I would be surprised if you see them during your stay. Our pets are not allowed in the guest rooms.

Our large detached house stands in 5 acres of grounds surrounded by open farmland in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the North Kent Downs. Within half hour drive of Eurotunnel, Canterbury, Dover, Folkestone and High Speed Rail to London takes under an hour.

The space
If you like space around you and animals, you'll like it here! We have a very friendly dog who lives with us in the house, two ponies who live in our adjoining paddock, chickens which roam our grounds and provide us with amazing eggs and bees which of course provide us with delicious honey. We also have a very friendly cat who lives at our stables.
We have one double room with en-suite bathroom, plus two other single rooms with standard sized 3' single with a shared private bathroom, so we can comfortably accommodate a family. Please note that this listing is for one single room - if you want to book multiple rooms or the double room please see the separate listings or let me know your requirements in your enquiry and I'll make you a special offer.
Breakfast is included in the price and you can try our lovely free range eggs from our hens, along with cereals, toast, yoghurt, fresh fruit in season/dried fruit, our own honey and homemade jams. I’m also happy to cater for other dietary requirements as long as I’m given advance information.

When you arrive, please come to the patio doors to the right of the house. There is a bell to the left of the doors.
Guests are welcome to use our garden - in the summer we have hammocks under the silver birch trees and a barbecue.

We love meeting new people and hearing about their lives, but of course respect guests' wishes if they just want peace and quiet! We are always present at the property as this is our permanent home and are happy to help in any way we can.
