The property itself is in a quiet courtyard and provides a parking space for the occupant. Unfortunately there was quite a bit of trash around the courtyard and it wasn’t well-kept, with discarded clothing, cans/bottles, and even unopened mail lying about. The overall condition was adequate; there are tiles missing around the tub, the mattresses are thin but not uncomfortable, the furniture is basic but serviceable and there are plenty of kitchen utensils. The key must be collected some distance away, about a five-minute drive, and then returned presumably to the same spot. The instructions in the flat are somewhat out-of-date, reminding the occupant to return the key to the numbered lock box and offering the WiFi password even though WiFi isn’t offered in the flat. (It’s listed as included but when we inquired we learned that the listings haven’t been updated, and WiFi is not indeed not available.) As someone else mentioned, it’s perfectly adequate accommodation but not really the feel of a holiday home. "

- "Stowaway Cottage is in a great location, only 30 seconds to walk to the beach, and 5 minutes to the main village street. It's a quirky layout, which caused my wife to remark, "It's like a Hobbit house!" -- the bathroom is down a narrow passage, and the bedrooms are up two flights of narrow, steep stairs. The upstairs ceilings and doorways are low, so duck your head if you're tall. (I'm six feet tall and I had to walk like a hunchback upstairs.) Having sad that, the bedrooms are both quite spacious and the beds are comfortable. There's a sink with hot and cold water in each bedroom, but the toilet is in the bathroom downstairs, which makes nighttime pee runs quite a trek. The kitchen is well-equipped with a microwave, stove, oven, fridge, dishwasher, toaster, and washing machine. I was able to cook meals for us with no problems. There's also a living room with a small TV set and seating for 5 people. Despite the quirks of Stowaway Cottage, it was a great place for us to stay -- it was close to everything and comfortable enough for eating and sleeping."

Quiet former maid's room at the top of a Victorian family house, now refurbished with en suite toilet and separate shower on private landing with its own privacy curtain. TV, hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities, microwave, small fridge, wifi. £8.50 'full English' breakfast charge p/person/£6.50 continental breakfast between 08.00 and 10.00 h only. Ours is a family home where we have lived happily since 1979.

The space
This period attic room is cosy, separate and private, self-contained but sharing our front door. Please note that the staircase up to the attic is fairly narrow, so not suitable for the elderly, infirm, or those with heavy luggage. The futon bed is fairly low, but with a thick 'memory foam' mattress-topper to make it more comfortable. Most guests report a good night's sleep. There is a zed-bed for additional accommodation (e.g. for a child) if needed, also a travel cot.

Guest access
There is free on-street parking, but we usually park on one side of the road only, to allow freer traffic circulation.
Guests will have access to the dining room for breakfast, which is charged extra : a 'Continental' breakfast (£6 pp) includes home made bread, choice of cereals, fruit and yoghurt. Also 'full English' (£8 pp) on request between 08.00 and 10.00 h. only: 2 eggs (done how you like) + bacon, mushrooms, grilled tomatoes, baked beans and Hash Browns (or equivalent) plus all the ingredients of a 'Continental' breakfast. Most of the spreads are home made. If guests need to use an iron (i.e. before a wedding), they are welcome to use mine - even the washing machine! I am also happy to keep your food in my fridge.

During your stay
We would like to advise and help guests as much as possible regarding places to eat in the town, where to go and what to do. Also internet access. However, we do like to respect the privacy of guests and expect them to respect ours too.

Other things to note
Between us, we speak French, Spanish and German (as well as English) so would be very happy to host people who speak these languages. We have travelled widely and are comfortable with people of all nationalities and creeds.

Access to home via coded secure key box in front porch. All of the 3rd floor is for our guests, access to the bedrooms and bathroom are via the staircase.

The property is a functioning family home of two teachers. Our avalibilty is dependent on our weekday work commitments, but we are avalible for any questions via text or emails.

Our private rooms in Ipswich are very homely, comfortable and cosy. The shared spaces such as living room, garden and bathroom are very spacious, kept very clean and welcoming for our guests. Few minutes from town centre.

A lovely double sized room in a detached house in the Suffolk countryside. Ample parking, super fast Wi-Fi, beautiful setting and only a ~ 5 minute drive to Ipswich Town centre.
