Located in the Waveney Valley on the border of Suffolk and Norfolk. We are tucked away on our 10 acre smallholding. We are situated only 20 miles from Norwich and also 20 miles from the coast and destinations like Southwold and Aldeburgh.
The accommodation consists of a large double room with en-suite bathroom. Breakfast items will be available for you in the dining area in the morning at a time to suit you.
Your room is clean, spacious and comfortable with an en-suite bathroom with power shower. You are welcome to use the gardens and land to wander around as you please and also have use of our decking area outside.
The lounge is also yours to use if you wish at any time during your stay (a small warning that our 2 small dogs love this area in the evenings!)

If you are interested in animals we are more than happy to give you a tour of our livestock, including Pigs, Sheep, Chickens, our Billy Goat, and Geese. Dependant on the time of year we also have very cute baby animals. Please ask for more info when you book!

Feeding time of the livestock is always an experience and we'd be happy to have you along.

Relax in the garden whilst watching the multitude of birds that visit our feeders and bird bath!

If you're after peace and quiet The Farmhouse encompasses 10 acres of land, so a long walk around the fields, where you might spot rabbits in the grass or buzzards circling the sky, is sure to give you a sense of calm. The Farmhouse sits on a very quiet road with only the postman a regular visitor.

A continental style breakfast will be available for you in the dining area in the morning at a time to suit you. Tea and Coffee is provided in your room with our welcome pack.

We are lucky to have some fabulous local restaurants within easy traveling distance so you will always be able to find somewhere to enjoy an evening meal. We have a small selection of takeaways who also deliver to The Farmhouse. We'd be happy to recommend for you.

Hostel style (budget) accommodation situated on Aldeburgh High Street. 16 self contained rooms, with communal areas within walking distance to the beach.

The space
The accommodation is basic but homely, in an ideal location just a short walk from the main shops and across the road from the beach. It comprises 16 self-contained rooms (each has its own toilet, wash basin and kitchenette (fridge/microwave/toaster). 12 rooms are twin bedded rooms and 4 are family rooms (double bed plus single bed with own shower). Some rooms have sea views. There is a shared kitchen, 5 shower rooms, lounge and a garden. There is flexibility to book from 1 - 16 rooms depending on availability.

Each bedroom is self contained and has a small kitchenette, toilet and basin. In addition to this, guests can use the communal kitchen (with its cooking equipment), garden, lounge, shower rooms and laundry room.

We have two b&b rooms available in our home. Rooms are large and comfortable with tea and coffee. Shower room is on same floor and is shared between two bedrooms. Continental breakfast is provided in our reception lounge with filter coffee and selection of teas, muffins or croissants and toast each morning. The house is near all amenities and short walk to restaurants and seafront. Short Walk to train station. Please note we have 2 small dogs at the property And a private barbershop on site!

The space
We believe that the house was built just before 1900. When we arrived it needed a full revamp which we have done over the years - so we did it up completely. Now it is a very comfortable cosy space for guests to stay.

Access is through our home and up to the attic floor flatlet - a key will be provided to you for the duration of the stay. We do not have restrictions on times that guests can come and go while they are here (other than check-in 4-7pm and check-out 11am).

We are happy to interact with guests, but naturally respect their privacy! If you are staying for a few days we will politely say hello and see how things are going - we're happy to offer suggestions as to places to eat or to visit should you want them...

Parking is on the street where there is an available space. There are no permits or charges for parking - but please note that as a Victorian street, the spaces might be a short walk from the house and at especially busy times on another nearby street.

North Manor Farmhouse is a magnificent 15th century traditional Suffolk Farmhouse dating from 1402. From here you can explore both the coast and the countryside. Nearby on the coast is the RSPB's Minsmere Reserve adjacent to National Trust clifftop land. For beach lovers the seaside town of Southwold is well worth a visit. Other coastal towns and villages include Walberswick, Dunwich, and Aldeburgh.
The nearest train station is a couple of miles away, at Halesworth. English Breakfast included.

The space
The Farmhouse is located in a small village in the middle of the Suffolk countryside. It still preserves exposed oak beams and wooden panelling in the breakfast/sitting room.
Expect a nice English breakfast using mostly produce from the local area. The jams are homemade by Crystal.
The sitting room has a fireplace that is always lit during the winter months. A nice area for you to relax reading a book or just have a chat with the other guests.
Guests are welcome to use the front garden and use the bench and loungers that are available during the summer months.

The nearest shops and pub are half a mile away.
Aldeburgh High street and the beach are just under a mile. Roughly a 20 minute walk depending on how you walk...

Other things to note
Aldeburgh was the home of British composer Benjamin Britten and remains a centre for the arts and literature with the Aldeburgh Music Festival, the Proms, an annual poetry festival, literary festival, documentary film festival, exhibitions and galleries, food festivals and many other cultural events. Fresh locally caught fish can be bought daily (weather permitting) from the fishermen’s huts along the beach.
The Aldeburgh festival itself is usually in mid August. The day ends with a procession to the beach and grand finale of Fireworks from the beach.
Usually a week later there is the Thorpness Regatta just two miles down the coast.

Kayaking and paddle boarding are avaible on the River Alde at Iken or, with temporary membership, at Slaughden sailing club. This needs to be booked in advance.
If anyone is a keen sailor, temporary membership and dinghy hire can be arranged at Slaughden Sailing club in Aldeburgh.
