It felt home from home and very relaxed." - "I Stayed in a lovely shepherds hut called bluebell which was lovely and quaint inside. Plates, glasses, cutlery, cups and kettle are provided. There is a small general kitchen area with kettle, toaster, microwave and hotplate. You will need to bring your own pans and there is a fire area provided on which you can cook food too. In the hut a small single camping gas cooker is available and all linen and towels are provided also. My breakfast hamper included fresh eggs from their own hens (which are super friendly) and a small microwavable bowl to cook them. The toilets and shower areas were clean well maintained and restocked with hand towels, toilet paper and handwash. Hot water was always available when i stayed in mid May. That's the practical stuff. For me personally i loved being so close to nature, you open the door and are on the edge of huge meadow that is frequented by birds, hares and butterflies. I went to relax and that's just what i did. The beach is only a few hundred feet from you as are great walks. The only downside for me if i was forced to make one is the bed is a firm mattress on a hard base. Great for some but i'm softie lover, so i folded my quilt a few times, i didn't need it because it was warm and i'm sure had i asked Nigel or Carol would have provided more. Lovely hosts. "

The space
Fascinating 18th century Norfolk Farmhouse, not on an active farm any more and only 20 minutes from Norwich, the UEA and Norfolk & Norwich Teaching Hospital. It contains most of the original features, including oak beams and windows and an inglenook fireplace. It is filled with arts and curios from around the world.

There are two delightful bedrooms with south-facing views over the garden. One room has a double bed and the other twins or a super-king.. BOTH OF THESE ROOMS SHARE A PRIVATE BATHROOM SO WE ONLY LET THEM TOGETHER FOR FAMILIES OR CLOSE FRIENDS. FOR THOSE WANTING ONE ROOM ONLY THE BATHROOM IS FOR YOUR EXCLUSIVE USE. There is a wash-hand-basin in each bed room. Tea and coffee-making facilities are provided in your room.

The sitting room for guests’ use is large but very cosy with wood-burning stove set in an inglenook fireplace. An HD widescreen television is provided.. WiFi is available and access to a pc will be given if you do not have a laptop or tablet with you. A wide range of books and magazines is available combined with a variety of games and puzzles. A study area is available with those with work to do!

Breakfast is a delight with a choice of full English or specialities such as scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. Continental breakfast consists of fresh fruit, yogurts, toast, croissants etc served with home made preserves including Mulberry Jam [from our own tree in the garden] A vegetarian option is always available. We source all ingredients locally as much as possible as Norfolk is renowned for its agricultural produce. Studio One is a brand new apartment that adjoins the main house, situated in a rural village location but just 5 miles from the centre of the beautiful city of Norwich. On the edge of a pretty village with great amenities Including farm shop, two well stocked village shops, chemist, pub and two takeaway options which are all a short walk away. There is a regular bus service from the village to the centre of Norwich. The beautiful Norfolk coast and Norfolk Broads are all conveniently located

The Annexe is a bright & spacious self-contained flat with a private entrance, & free on-site parking. From the bedroom you access the south facing garden & private patio. Drayton is to the northwest of Norwich with pubs, a petrol station with cash point, a pharmacy, doctor's surgery & a supermarket all within walking distance. The city centre with its cathedrals, Plantation Garden, & other sights are easily accessed. The Norfolk Broads, the coast & even the airport are just a short drive away.

The space
Through the hallway you enter the living cum dining room with its workspace, & the adjacent double bedroom. Another door leads to a very wide hallway with a large storage cupboard. The bathroom & fully equipped kitchen are both accessed from this hallway. The overall 'feel' is exceptionally roomy as the flat is larger than average.

Guest access
Guests have full use of the annexe which is accessed from the side of the property with its own front door. They can also access the back annexe patio & the back garden. There is an additional private seating area to the side, near the front door.

A spacious vaulted bedroom with en suite bathroom in a 200 year old red brick barn, with gorgeous views over its own paddocks. Surrounded by peaceful, idyllic farmland and woods, 18 minutes from Thursford, very close to Houghton Hall, 25 minutes from Sandringham, Holkham and the coast. Two miles from Sculthorpe Moor Nature Reserve, and an easy drive to Titchwell, Holme, Snettisham and Cley bird reserves.

The space
The barn faces East and West, with a large south facing conservatory.
There is a wood burner in the sitting room for cosy breakfasts in the winter. In the summer there are several places to sit in the garden to take in the birdsong and bask in the sun. Please note the en suite bathroom has a bath and we have lots of hot water. There is a shower attachment but it’s pathetic - ok for rinsing hair but not much else. There is a shower you are welcome to use if you prefer showers, but it’s on the floor above.

If you are looking to escape to the country for a relaxing break, Sunset Barn is the place for you. Sunset Barn is tucked away at the bottom of a very quiet lane with countryside views all around. We are approx20 mins walk from The Grain Brewery & 30 min walk to The Dove or The Wortwell Bell Pub where you will also find some great food. We are located inbetween the market towns of Bungay and Harleston, Beccles is also easily accessible along with the beautiful Southwold coastline.

The space
Sunset Barn has a double bedroom with a Jack and Jill bathroom. The kitchen/living space is open plan with French door overlooking the garden. Parking is available right outside the barn.

The sound of church bells calling people to worship and marking each hour adds to the experience. The bell ringers practice on Friday evenings.
Overlooking the garden and church yard the ground floor double bedroom is light and bright with an en suite shower room. The bedroom includes wardrobe, bedside tables, tea and fresh coffee making facilities, bath robes, usb charging points and smart TV. There is space in the room for you to sit and read. Free WiFi is provided. We welcome walkers and cyclists, and are able to store your boots and bikes inside the house.
Help yourself to breakfast in the dining room until 11am. Breakfast served in our kitchen/diner includes freshly baked croissants, locally made preserves, fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereals, toast, cheese and meat, tea and fresh coffee. The Lion is situated in the quiet and picturesque village of West Somerton, Easily reached along the Norfolk coast road between Winterton on Sea and Horsey which is a lovely scenic walk away or a 7 minute drive if you want to see the famous horsey seals. We have a bus stop situated outside the B&B with links to Hemsby, Caister, Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft and Nowich.
