I booked in to the local travel lodge at a cost of £77 and that was lowered because of another decent person I met that night but they had more stories of people that could not check into this hotel what more can I say than the hotel owner is a con merchiant."

ELECTRIC CARS:
Due to insurance purposes, guests must never charge their car using a standard outdoor plug or an extension cable linking to a domestic plug. This is not permitted because of fire regulations regarding wiring, earthing rods and voltage restrictions; it poses a serious fire risk to standard 13 amp sockets and there is a real danger that the body of the vehicle could become live. There is no EV Charging point at the property and if you have an EV, you will need to charge it elsewhere. Use of electricity to charge cars is not included in the rental price.

- "This is our second stay at River Retreat and we have had another lovely week. Since last year the property has been renovated and it has been done out really nicely with a new kitchen, large TV and furniture throughout. The location is great and it is so relaxing sitting by the river watching the wildlife and boats go by. We have our own boat moored in Brundall so it has been nice being able to have it at the property throughout the week we were there. We will definitely be back. The property is well equipped and very comfortable. Good parking at the lodge. Good for fishing. Brundall centre is not far away and there are two Co-ops with all the essentials you may need, an Indian restaurant (which we can recommend), a Chinese take away, Pizza takeaway, the Ram Inn pub in the village and The White Heron pub and East Hills Deli cafe which is close to the property. The train station is in walking distance for access in to Norwich or Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft. Communication with Norfolk Holiday Lodges was very good. Make sure you take some duck and swan food so you can feed all the feathery visitors on the river! (you can buy some in the hardware shop in the village)."

Tucked away in a private and tranquil spot in our large garden, it overlooks fields. The cabin has its own raised patio area and a secure fenced private part of the garden accessed via a gate for sitting, reading or sunbathing. Patio table with chairs provided.
The rest of the garden is in 1/2 an acre of well tended gardens and large lawn. With open countryside views all around. It’s marvellous for viewing the abundance of wildlife we are privileged to see here.
The cosy log cabin is well insulated and heated for all year round use. It is open plan, but the bedroom can be sectioned off with the curtain if required. There is a well equipped kitchen area with counter top oven/ hob, kettle, toaster and fridge.
The contemporary bathroom has a shower cabin, electric heated towel radiator, vanity unit with basin and toilet.
There is a futon in the living area. A breakfast bar with stools which looks out over fields. Lots of wildlife to be observed from here as well as through the French doors.

Our Holiday Pods are a truly fantastic experience for a perfect holiday or break within easy reach of The George and Dragon for a drink and superb food. We have five Pods available to rent.

Our Five Pods offer a range of sleeping arrangement to suite everyone. Pods 1 – 3 can sleep four people, Pod 4 sleeps up to 2 and Pod 5 sleeps up to 6. Whilst Pod 5 is a 6 birth pod, you can request pod 4, our joining pod for larger families/parties!

Pods 1,2,3 and 5 are single storey, open plan holiday pods and have a living area with Freeview TV, double sofa bed and French doors leading to a garden and decking area complete with hot tub. They all have a lovely Kitchen and Dining area with breakfast bar, hob, microwave and fridge. They also all have a separate bedroom with double bed and a shower room with shower cubicle, toilet and heated towel rail. Pod 4 is still great but has a few less facilities. Pod 4 now has a Hot Tub!

Electric central heating, gas, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included together with a great welcome pack. The pods have a lawned garden with enclosed decking and garden furniture together with 2-acre landscaped grounds (shared with other properties on-site). Private parking is available for one car.
These pretty and unique holiday pods are situated in a meadow neighbouring the A146 Loddon to Norwich Road, and just a short stroll away from the pub.

- "We needed a break in the beautiful countryside with our chocolate labrador, we couldn't have picked a better location. Our hosts were really lovely and they welcomed us on arrival. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and tidy, and is nicely equipped. The rain on the roof was really therapeutic in the night. The fields close by had donkeys, sheep and horses. Our dog was very interested in them all. There were plenty of walks locally, even a fenced paddock. The forests are close by, sadly we didn't meet any bears!! I can fully recommend a stay here and would return as soon as I can get away from work. Huge thank you to Lydia and her lovely family for our stay."

Our Holiday Pods are a truly fantastic experience for a perfect holiday or break within easy reach of The George and Dragon for a drink and superb food. We have five Pods available to rent.

Our Five Pods offer a range of sleeping arrangement to suite everyone. Pods 1 – 3 can sleep four people, Pod 4 sleeps up to 2 and Pod 5 sleeps up to 6. Whilst Pod 5 is a 6 birth pod, you can request pod 4, our joining pod for larger families/parties!

Pods 1,2,3 and 5 are single storey, open plan holiday pods and have a living area with Freeview TV, double sofa bed and French doors leading to a garden and decking area complete with hot tub. They all have a lovely Kitchen and Dining area with breakfast bar, hob, microwave and fridge. They also all have a separate bedroom with double bed and a shower room with shower cubicle, toilet and heated towel rail. Pod 4 is still great but has a few less facilities. Pod 4 now has a Hot Tub!

Electric central heating, gas, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included together with a great welcome pack. The pods have a lawned garden with enclosed decking and garden furniture together with 2-acre landscaped grounds (shared with other properties on-site). Private parking is available for one car.
These pretty and unique holiday pods are situated in a meadow neighbouring the A146 Loddon to Norwich Road, and just a short stroll away from the pub.

Alberta Lodge is a lodge situated on the quiet chalet park of Cedar Springs in the popular seaside village of Heacham. Cedar Springs is a family owned and run chalet park located just a few minutes walk from Heacham Beach and 3 miles from the popular seaside town of Hunstanton.

- "This was our first time in Alberta Lodge, although we've stayed in Heacham before. Alberta Lodge is located in a holiday park, Cedar Springs, and is so quiet all we could hear were the birds singing. The Lodge itself was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and really well-equipped for a self-catering break. My daughter appreciated the board games and the DVD player was perfect for movie nights. Having WiFi was a bonus too. We had all the information we needed from the owner well before our stay. The beach is 5 minutes' walk away, or Hunstanton is a 40 minute walk along the promenade. We had a lovely relaxing break at Alberta Lodge and would definitely stay there again."

Relax in our cottage situated on 2 acres - close to both Diss and Harleston, 35 mins to Norwich. Think comfortable, rather than luxurious. On a nice day enjoy the outdoor green space; children will love the climbing frame. We are dog friendly. The cabin sits across from the family home (see in the photos), so it isn't uninterrupted country-side views, but it is private, accessible, and a good base to see the local area. A larger group may also want to book the other room I have listed.

Note, we aren't connected to the regular tv channels, but you can sign-in to any personal accounts on the smart TV. Do check with me about this if it is important to you.
There are various wild birds around the property, mostly pheasants and partridge. A local peacock has made himself home here and roams the yard. He minds his own business, but you may hear him making his bird call at certain times of the year which some people may find irritating (in the spring/summer) We like him. UPDATE: We now have a family of peacocks here.
We have chickens, friendly, and they are at times free ranging around the yard. They don't bother anyone and are a good source of fresh eggs for us when the weather is warmer. We also have 2 guinea fowl, 3 turkeys, and 2 geese.
We have a dog (medium sized), she is friendly and doesn't run about freely without us but you may see her on her daily walks, or running around on a sunny day so be mindful of that if you're not into dogs.

The Garden Lodge has a fully equipped kitchen with oven, fridge, freezer, microwave, table & chairs. The utility/boot room has a washing machine & dishwasher. The dining area seats 6-8, there is a second TV is this room. The cosy lounge has a Smart TV and plenty of comfortable seating . There are 3 bedrooms - a king, single & bunk room. Two shower rooms each with a wash basin & toilet.
We have an outside decking area and large garden with a trampoline, BBQ & garden seating.

The space
The Garden Lodge is tucked away at the back of our property giving guests complete privacy and beautiful undisturbed countryside views.
We do have an unfenced pond behind the lodge which fills according to the rainfall.

You're welcome to explore all of our garden. We ask guests not to allow dogs into the back field off a lead as there are sometimes cattle grazing in the adjacent field.

Our 2 bedroom River Rest is in a perfect setting at the front of our Marina, a good spot for fishing from the garden and seeing the boats pass by on their way to and from the River Yare. This quiet and tranquil location is perfect to get into the quieter waters with your own boat, kayak or paddle board. Local boat & canoe hire is possible. Explore the Norfolk Broads and moor right outside of your cosy lodge!

*****Road maintenance on Riverside Estate will be taking place on Monday 19th May 2025 this may take up to two days to complete. The roadway between numbers 42 and 52 is the area work will be concentrated on apart from filling in potholes on other parts of the road. There will be disruption but Anglia Roadways will do their best to accommodate those entering and exiting this part of Riverside as best they can.*****
