At The Pheasantry we have everything you need to indulge yourself and get away from it all. A unique and exclusive retreat, The Pheasantry is a cocoon in which to do as much or as little as you wish; with three smart TVs and a secluded outdoor space, you are free to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the Norfolk countryside. The Broads national park, the stunning Norfolk and Suffolk coastlines and the vibrant, historic city of Norwich are all easily accessible by car or train.
Amenity limitations — As The Pheasantry is set in the eaves, please be aware that there is limited headroom for tall guests on the far side of the bed due to the loft style character of the room (please see photo).
As The Pheasantry is situated on the first floor, there is a flight of stairs to access the property.
About the neighbourhood
Surrounded by farmland in the beautiful village of Wicklewood, we are close to the historic market town of Wymondham with its beautiful Abbey, supermarkets and direct rail links to Norwich and Cambridge. The village has its own local pub, while also being spoilt for choice with great places to eat and drink in surrounding towns and villages. You are guaranteed peace and quiet on your stay, with the only neighbours being the sheep grazing on a nearby field, or a herd of visiting deer, while the medieval city of Norwich, with its vibrant food scene and charming independent shops, is only a 20 minute drive away. We have been breeding the rare Golden Pheasant here since 2014, and The Pheasantry is named in their honour. You may get to meet Boris, our friendliest boy and model for The Pheasantry logo, during your stay, as he pecks around the grounds in search of titbits.

The space
The cosy cottage has its own front door and a 1940's theme, you'll find everything you need for light self catering (microwave and mini-oven, dual hob and fridge) and a peaceful retreat in a rural setting.

You get the exclusive use of the annex and can share the garden with our family and other guests.
Our wood-fired hot tub is available between 10am and 9pm to book for just £30 an hour for private sessions with full cleans in between.

The double sofa bed in the living room/kitchen pulls out, and doesn't leave much space to get around.
We use natural bedding and cushions, and are unable to provide alternatives - you are welcome to bring your own if required.
The outside areas are shared with our family and other guests, there are lots of spaces you can use, but depending on the season and weather conditions some may not be available - please ask if you would like to make use of anything and we will always do our best to accommodate.
We are a working smallholding and busy family home, we try very hard to keep everything looking at it's best, but ask for your patience if we fall short - just let us know and we will make every effort to fix it for you.
We welcome well behaved dogs that are not allowed onto furniture. If your dog leaves excess hair you can use our vacuum cleaner. We have chickens, cats and children as well as other dogs belonging to friends and guests so it is important that your dog can cope with this.
Dogs must be kept on lead in the garden and field areas.
The bridge crossing to the hot tub and field has no railings and a steep drop into water, great care should taken when crossing and children should be carefully supervised. The field should be considered a working farm area; working tractors and livestock maybe present - it is essential that all animals and children are closely supervised.
