Bedrooms are at the back which is quiet with just an access lane. Bed linen was clean and beds comfortable. Plenty of storage. Sofas comfy and a good sized tv with all the usual channels. Kitchen well equipped. Another reviewer mentioned about having to take their rubbish with them, this isn’t correct, there’s a black bin with the flat number on at the back which is accessed by a small pathway on the right as you leave the apartment. We stayed 5 nights and only dropped rubbish in the black bin twice (once on leaving) as the bin liners are big. "

So you don't have to go far to have everything you need but just a 15-minute walk along the seafront will take you into Whitstable town centre with its quaint working harbour, craft huts, galleries, seafood restaurants, specialising in Whitstable Oysters and many independent shops.

A bus stop is located nearby for travel to Whitstable, the historic town of Canterbury and Herne Bay. Whitstable train station, with regular trains into London (just over an hour's journey), is a 5-minute drive or 15 minutes walk away.

Tankerton is well-placed to be near to Whitstable, yet away from the hustle and bustle of the town. Tankerton Slopes is the site of many local festivals such as the annual classic car show, Oyster Festival food fair and the weekly Park Run.

Please note that Windjammer Cottage is an 'upside-down' house. The kitchen and living room are upstairs and open plan, maximising the lovely light that floods into the property. Although not suitable for people who can't manage the stairs, the house has a large hall downstairs with 2 armchairs that may be used as a second living area if required.

Please note that if you have small children, the house has 2 balconies and stairs.

Bay Cottage is a spacious 3 bedroom fisherman’s cottage in the heart of Whitstable’s picturesque conservation area. The property has been renovated to a high standard, comfortably sleeps up to 5 people, and is on the doorstep to Harbour Street with it’s boutique shops, restaurants, and the seafront.

The cottage has a large & spacious living area with an open fire place. There is a separate kitchen/dining area with access to the garden & shed for bike storage. Upstairs there are three good sized bedrooms & a bathroom: all bed linen & towels supplied. There are some beach towels in the wardrobe in the front bedroom with the king size bed.

There should be already supplied in the cottage the following items: cooking oil, salt & pepper, tea, coffee & sugar, milk, tin foil, cling film, kitchen towel, dish washer tablets, washing powder, washing up liquid, liquid hand soap, & some toilet paper.

As well as the other facilities, you can play music in the cottage via the Sonos speaker in the living room. You just need to download the Sonos app which is available for Apple or Android phones/tablets. Then you will be able to play music from your phone, radio stations or music streaming services such as Spotify.

The open fireplace in the living room is available (October - March) for use. There should be a supply of newspaper, kindling & a few logs to get you started. Please make sure that the fire guard is always placed in front of the fire when in use.

Lilly Cottage is a 2 bed fisherman’s cottage that is bright and cheerful with a great garden and outdoor decking area. The house is full of artwork, vintage lamps and original vintage furniture pieces. It’s Located in the Conservation Area only 30 meters from the High Street and a 5 min walk to the beach. It’s also conveniently located 10 min walk from the train station with direct trains to London.

The ground floor with it original floorboards has a large living room with an original ornate fireplace and large bay windows. With 2 large sofas and an armchair you can relax in style while watching the Satellite TV or great selection of classic DVD’s at the house. In the colourful green dining room there’s a large dining table with 4 chairs and an extra chair in the large storage cupboard where you can stash all your belongings. There’s a well-equipped galley kitchen with a fridge, dishwasher, hob, washing machine and full size fridge so you can cook to your hearts content. Through the kitchen is a large wet room bathroom.

Head out to the garden and there’s a large decking area with 2 deckchairs, a dining table and coffee table. When it get’s dark the garden lights up with all the solar lighting to create a chill place to hang out. There are extra chairs for the garden in the storage cupboard if needed. There’s also a bike bar to lock up bikes in the garden for if you bring or hire bikes.

The upstairs consists of 2 bright large bedrooms each with a double bed. Both have a set of drawers and clothes rails, while ones have a desk for any work you may need to do if needed. The second very large bathroom is an ensuite bathroom and has an original roll top steel bath shower. The location of the cottage means everything is right on your doorstep so you can easily enjoy all the great stuff Whitstable has to offer.

Please note the staircase to upstairs is fairly steep if anyone has mobility issues or young children.

We have lived here for over 10 years now making the move from London. Views from Tankerton slopes have never disappointed all weathers and seasons its a very special arena to see so far out to the sea and sky. This is a seafront without crowds, often you can spend the whole day with what seems like your own private piece of beach in-between the groynes which go out to sea at regular intervals. Prior to moving I worked in Museums, my partner and are have both studied at Art school, I think we have an eye for detail and was very clear that we wanted the space to be uncluttered, comfortable whist keeping luxury and style, with a double height ceiling, the texture of brickwork and oak flooring we are very happy with the results. I take hosting very seriously I spend a lot of time making sure everything is at its best. I am fastidious about the cleanliness and really enjoy putting in little extras. I take pride that you have chosen to spend your precious holiday time at Passenger and I want to make sure all is perfect. We are only next door if you needed anything but often only greet and say farewell to guests as it's easy just to get straight into having a holiday once you've arrived
We are located on one of the beautiful wide roads in Tankerton that leads directly down to the seafront, as you come out of the house you can see the slopes and sea beyond. Parking is not a problem it is not a busy road with parking along one side. Whitstable train station is 10 minuets walk away, if you are arriving by train please ask it may be possible for me to pick you up so you can get your holiday started quicker.Tankerton is a hidden gem, open and spacious with easy parking and a large green expanse, 'The slopes', where you get the greatest views of the seafront unlike the centre of Whitstable This is a sea front without crowds often you can spend the day with what seems like your own private piece of beach in-between the groynes that go out to sea at regular intervals. Jojo's an award winning tapas restaurant is located on the slopes with sea views, a great place for lunch or dinner. Whitstable centre is a 15 minute walk along the front where the crowds await. Whitstable is packed with amazing restaurants and independent boutiques. You can catch the bus if you prefer which is at the end of the road also Tesco's, many take aways, a micro brewery pub The Tankerton Arms.

The space
This is a Unique contemporary apartment in the Telephone Exchange building of Tankerton. There are two bedrooms both with ensuite shower room & toilets . There is also a utility room that has a separate toilet. Each bedroom also has a TV. The master bedroom can be changed to a twin option if required.
The fully equipped kitchen opens up onto the dining area leading into the lounge so you can still interact with your companions when busy cooking in the kitchen! Thats if you are not eating at one of the wonderful Whitstable restaurants!!

There is a remote controlled gated car park with an individual parking space for guests to use. Access is via a communal door at the REAR of the building with either stairs or lift access to the appartment.

Sea Breeze is an attractive white weatherboarded three-storey town house in the stylish Salt Yard area of Whitstable. Its location is ideal being just a short stroll to the beach in one direction and the vibrant town centre in the other and opposite the house is a large green and play park so perfect for children and dogs alike. The icing on the cake is that Sea Breeze also has an allocated parking space in the undercover car park. The interior of Sea Breeze is light and airy, stylish and contemporary. On the ground floor is a fully equipped kitchen, utility room, cloakroom and outside storage room perfect for storing bikes, pushchairs and suitcases. Whitstable is a vibrant and buzzing seaside town, full of history and charm with a working harbour and fish market. It has a thriving art scene with lots of galleries showing the work of local artists, a great live music scene in the local pubs and some great cafes and restaurants serving contemporary dishes including of course oysters which made Whitstable famous. There is plenty to entertain both adults and children including a water sports centre for kayak and paddle board enthusiasts as well as sailing opportunities from the Whitstable Yacht Club. Boat trips also depart regularly from the harbour during the summer months.

- "We have visited Whitstable several times and this is the best house we have stayed in. It feels light and spacious inside and has all the benefits of a new property including a lovely shower, comfy bed, plenty of seating and the real plus of an underground parking space ( a decent size space but next to a pillar so a little tight for unloading). There is also a public car park next to the house which is useful but obviously a little noisy at times if you have windows open. The location is fantastic; tucked behind high street, next to a green with a small play area and only a few minutes walk to the beach. As this is a town house a stay does require a fair amount of going up and down stairs but was not a deal breaker for us and we would definitely choose this property again."

Extensive renovations are now complete (July 2015) and this lovely period home by the sea, Heron House, is ready for holiday bookings. Our place offers guests a great central location in the heart of Whitstable's Conservation Area - just a hop and a skip to the beach and the high street. There's plenty of space (2 reception rooms, large kitchen/diner, 4 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms), cosy corners, a small garden with patio and a garden room to enjoy.

Heron House is perfect for guests of all ages and we welcome pets. From couples to extended family groups, we offer a comfortable, classic period home-from-home with the benefits of WiFi, wood burner, extended kitchen/diner and private parking for one car.

The house itself is detached and offers a peaceful oasis between the bustling weekend crowds on the waterfront and high street. The interiors are full of Victorian character, all fully refreshed following recent full renovation, but with a modern twist. There is a newly extended kitchen/diner with breakfast bar and two sets of French doors leading out to the patio - a great space for entertaining with seating for up to 8 guests plus high chair. There are 2 double bedrooms and 2 with twin beds that can also be made up a double rooms, all with king sized beds. There are also 2 bathrooms, both with rolltop baths and shower facilities. In the evenings you can choose between two cosy lounges: the snug is open plan to the kitchen and offers seating for 4, an AGA woodburner and TV/DVD. Next door is the front lounge with seating for 5, a feature fireplace and larger TV/DVD.

Outside there is the all-important parking space for 1 car, a small secure garden with small lawn, patio dining area and access to the garden room. There is seating for 8 guests, tables and parasol, Weber BBQ and deckchair. The garden room offers further space to relax with a daybed and large beanbag.

We are just opening the doors to guests for the first time this summer (July 2015) and are offering fully inclusive rental rates that cover all the basics:

- "Very much enjoyed our stay at the number four apartment in whitstable. The apartment was spacious, comfortable, had everything we needed, and included a dedicated parking space. The neighborhood was very nice and only a 5-minute walk from the beach. Also a short walk to a nice convenience store and a great fish and chips place. After a driving tour of Southern England we were in the area to see the Canterbury Cathedral. The number 4 apartment is a short 15 to 20 minute drive from Canterbury, an easy Drive. It was nice to have both a washer and dryer in the apartment, as this stay came almost exactly in the middle of our two week trip, allowing us to refresh our clothes. If we were to come back to this area again, we would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend."

- "We had a short break here with our two little dogs. Despite being pet friendly the caravan is spotless with all amenities and lots of extras. The bed was superb, soft white towels, loads of kitchen equipment for a full holiday fry up. Lots of info on local area, park is small and friendly and local pub literally over the road dished up superb meals. The hosts are responsive, courteous and very helpful. Nearby beach dog friendly. Whitstable, Herne bay and Tankerton all are quintessential British seasides. This is one to go to! Thoroughly recommend."

On parties and noise: the house is situated on a quiet residential street with houses either side and the neighbours are very sensitive to noise. If you’re planning to have a party, then this isn’t the house for you. There are plenty of brilliant pubs and restaurants a short walk away.

Ground floor:
There is a cosy front sitting room with a large sofa and comfy armchairs. There are books along with guides to the local area so you can plan your visit. The TV is also here, and the room leads through an open plan space to the bright and glass-ended kitchen.

The living room features a hi spec TV with Netflix, board games and a record turntable.

The kitchen has been fully stocked for those who love to cook, providing everything you need to enjoy entertaining in the large, light space. There is a Dualit toaster, a washing machine, a large fridge freezer and cutlery for the kids if you need it. There is a fan oven, a gas range and a microwave. The large oak dining table comfortably sits eight plus the kids.

There is WiFi, central heating and, for younger guests, a high chair and books and games for when you've had enough of the beach.

The ground floor bathroom, a traditional feature of Whitstable's cottages, features a large claw bath with a shower along with a wash basin and WC.

First floor:
The large front bedroom is bright and airy, with a king size bed, a large wardrobe, two bedside cabinets and a chest of drawers.

Second floor:
Eider cottage is flooded with light thanks to its most remarkable feature – a large atrium space that extends between the upper two floors of the building, exposing the Victorian brickwork of the chimney shaft.

From the top landing, which has a shelf full of books and magazines, upper bedroom one enjoys views over the rooftops of Whitstable and has a comfortable double bed along with bedside tables and a chest of drawers.

The twin room has two full size single beds, plus a bedside table and a chest of drawers for clothes. This room is perfect for children – it has baskets full of toys and a great collection of kids' books.

Other things to note
Dogs are welcome! We do ask that you please keep them off the furniture and ensure they don’t defecate in the garden. The beach is a very short walk away and offers unrestricted access to dogs year-round.

This includes one set per your stay, should you require additional towelling or linen please request this or if you have opened a fresh pack even if you use only a few items there will be a charge of £30 per pack - each pack contains fresh linen, large and small towels.

Any sort of parties, gatherings or events are strictly not permitted, the property is for accommodation purposes only for the guests staying.This property is located in a residential area and guests are asked to refrain from excessive noise or any activity that would disturb theneighbours. If it's beenreported thatthere are any parties or events or noise disturbance then you may be required to leave the property immediately without the remaining nights being refunded. There is a charge of £500 if any evidence of a party, gathering or event at the property havebeen found exclusive of any charges relating to damages or additional cleaning costs to get the property in good order again. You are required to keep the place reasonably clean and tidy - no dirty dishes leftover or excessive rubbish to be disposed of as this is not included in the cleaning charge. The space
We have a large 5 bed family home, we are a quiet family, only one of our 5 children still live at home. It's a tranquil place to be and is our little piece of heaven by the sea.

Please note there are no cooking facilities, however we will happily allow you to store things in our fridge and order food in.

We have 2 very friendly dogs, whom would lick you to death if allowed and 2 very timid cats, I would be surprised if you see them during your stay. Our pets are not allowed in the guest rooms.

We prefer to be home upon your arrival, Check in is between 4-8pm, please tell us in advance what time you plan to arrive so we can arrange to be here to welcome you.

We are happy to chat and give you recommendations for places to eat and visit, however we also understand you may wish to have your privacy and are completely happy with this too.

The front door can be a bit tricky if you don't know how to unlock it, we will give instructions when you arrive. Check in details will be sent out a day or two before your arrival.

Really comfortable light airy room in a 3 bedroom family home with full access to kitchen and 2 bathrooms. There is a choice of 2 bedrooms, middle and rear, both are pictured. The house is usually occupied by myself, please note there is no lock on the bedroom door. The house is right in the centre of Whitstable close to a car park and all the high street amenities. There is a bus into Canterbury from round the corner. Sorry but no animals please!

The space
The bedroom is next to the upstairs bathroom- you will have exclusive use of this although the shower is not very powerful so you can use the shower downstairs if you wish. Tea, coffee and kettle are provided in the room and muesli, milk and bread for toast are available in the kitchen for breakfast.

There is free on street parking and you will usually find a space within 5 minutes walk of the house. A pay car park is in the next street

A light double room with brand new comfortable double bed, matching side tables and lamps. There is a wonderful view overlooking the garden out onto the estuary, where you can see the sail boats in the morning and The Isle of Sheppey in the distance.
Avoid paying for town parking,
park your car on our drive and hop on a bus into Whitstable or Canterbury. Enjoy the delights of our seaside town & historic Canterbury. Ideal for the Oyster festival or break away from city life.

The space
I live here with my daughter and her partner. It is a lovely semi-detached home just on the outskirts of Whitstable. My daughter has a handsome cross-bred white Tibetan Terrior.

Guest access
Guests have private use of the bedroom and use of the shared bathroom. The modern bathroom contains a shower over the bath, sink & toilet.
During the summer months guests can enjoy relaxing in the garden, if they wish and admire the view.
There is full access to wifi.

During your stay
I will be around to meet & greet guests.

A continental breakfast is offered, with a choice of cereals, breads, croissants, juice, jams, choice of teas & coffee. Gluten & lactose free options available.

Please leave used towels in the bath.

This stunning original elephant themed 'Thai Retreat' situated in a picturesque garden that is well lit at night and creates a wonderful ambience. A perfect spot for relaxing and alfresco dining. An ideal place for individuals, couples or a small family. There is a Victoran double bed and a single Victorian day bed with a single mattress - ideal also for three adults, families, small children.

The Thai Retreat is as private as can be and I try to ensure the garden is private for your sole use - however there are some occasions (summer months) when the main house may have guests and on this occasion guests may use the garden - The Thai retreat however does have its own private area of garden and its own varandah exclusive for Thai Retreat Guests. To get to the Thai retreat you enter through a private gate and walk along the garden where you will see the Thai experience nestled sweetly under a Eucalyptus tree and surrounded by lush bamboo. As you enter the retreat you pass the toilet area on your left. This is in a separate building!

There is an excellent self-check in method and I am happy to meet and greet you too.

We live on the grounds but the Thai hut is located in its own private area. We will be available as much or as little as is required. We are very flexible with check-in and out. If the cabin is ready and prepped the day before arrival you can arrange to arrive earlier than 4pm and if not being used the day of your departure you can arrange to stay later than 10am.

Parking is either on the drive in a gated entrance or on the road in front of the drive. There is also parking at the local car park 2 seconds away from the house at a daily charge of £3 ( as of May 2022)

Inside you will find a quaint elephant themed room with kitchenware, bedlinen etc. Underthe bed is a coffee table which you can wheel out and eat and drink from. There is a microwave, mini fridge with fresh milk, jam and butter as well as a fresh coffee machine, kettle and toaster. There is one double bed and one single bed. A spare mattress for an additional 4th guest. There is a single mattress which is kept on the single bed and can be used as an additional bed but it is on the floor. Not ideal as it takes up too much floorspace but it is an option if you don' t mind really cosying up for the night .....!

If you want to cook - there is a two ringed electric portable hob enclosed in the KItchenette area of the garde, cupboards, crockery, pots, pans etc and a two ringed electric hob! (Sole use) so many possibilities for alfresco cooking.

The Thai themed garden is a wonderful spot to recoup, with many seating areas and a hammock, soak up the summer sun before heading out on a seven minute stroll to Whitstable trendy bustling harbour and the infamous Harbour street where all Whitstable's incredible restaurants and independent shops are of abundance.

The Harbour and beach front are just a stroll away from as well as Whitstable's infamous sunsets and Oyster Bars. Champagne, Oysters, fish and chips are all on your doorstep! With fantastic coastal walks along the breathtaking beaches with some great pubs too.

The large gas Weber BBQ is ready to use in the garden at anytime if required. If using this it must be cleaned after use or a small fee is charge for additional cleaning.

Guest access is through a gated well lit entrance. The beauty of this stay is that are only 2 minutes from the train station so if coming by train its ideal as you don't have to search for your accommodation with luggage too far from embarking off the train. Stroll off stroll in - you are there!! And only a 7 minute walk to the high street, the beach and the Harbour and Harbour Street..........FANTASTIC!

When arriving by train you can leave your luggage with me prior to check -in or leave with me before you head home.

Pets are also welcome. If I am available I am happy to mind any pet for a small fee.

The outside toilet facilities are in a separate building, 'The Thai Pei' - you walk 20 steps along a gravel path to the toilet which is well lit with lighting set amongst an established Eucalyptus tree amidst bamboo and other evergrees at the bottom of our private garden, with its own private varandah, ideal for eating breakfast outside, garden seating with comfortable cushions and a fire pit/BBQ.

Of an evening you can sit out under the stars listening to the foxes and tawny owls calling to each other. Then by day watch the grey squirrels, wood pigeons and numerous species of birds.

The Thai Retreat just a moderate walk from the beach, boutiques restaurants, bustling harbour with fishermam huts & eateries.'

Flip flops and dressing gowns are provided for your comfort and guests use these to walk along to the W.C and through to shower room which you reach via the varandah.

Fancy a cosy evening in - watch your favourite films with Sky TV, Movie channel and Netflix ! If you require any outside food deliveries/hampers these come delivered to your door.....separate pricing of course!

We are so close to the station that you may hear the hum of the trains as they approach the station. They go past very slowly as we are so close to where passengers alight.

ROSE COTTAGE is quietly located just a five minute walk to the beach (400 meters) and about ten minutes to both Whitstable town centre and Tankerton.

Come and stay in a pretty, large, ground floor bedroom with king sized bed and private bath/shower room. TV, WiFi, tea/coffee/light refreshments. There are lots of great cafes nearby serving Continental and full English breakfasts.

If you would like to stay somewhere quiet, with free, on site, parking, ROSE COTTAGE is the place for you.

Guests have full use of a large ground floor double bedroom with TV, WiFi, private en-suite shower/bathroom. Free off street parking for one car is available in my driveway. Ideal for women on their own. Guests are welcome to enjoy my large, peaceful town garden. Unfortunately, my accommodation is not suitable for infants or children.

During your stay
I am happy to help with local information. Guests have a front door key so can come and go as they please. Rose Cottage is ideal for a weekend break, attending celebrations, visiting friends or exploring Whitstable. I am a retired photography lecturer turned potter. My house is full of art, photographs and pots!

Other things to note
ROSE COTTAGE is about a five minute walk to the beach and the Hotel Continental - a great place to go for Continental breakfast, a drink, meal or to watch the sun set. It's a ten minute walk into Whitstable via our working Harbour (lots to do and see) and along the seafront. Tankerton is nearby with the fabulous Slopes down to the beach and a vibrant high street. Whitstable is famous for its oysters, seafood and independent shops. Plus Rose Cottage is only ten minutes from the train station.

BRUNCH IS A LOCAL PASS-TIME!
There are lots of lovely cafes nearby serving breakfast and brunch. The Beach Cafe is nearby and Seaview Cafe on Tankerton slopes - both serve cooked breakfasts.
For dinner, I suggest you book a table at a restaurant of your choice. Whitstable restaurants are very popular and get oversubscribed. Here are a some of my favourites, but there are many more. PLEASE ENSURE YOU BOOK YOUR TABLE FOR DINNER AT LEAST ONE WEEK IN ADVANCE.
