- "This was a complete mess. To start, they forgot about our reservation and had to put us in a temporary room for two days. During this time, there was a blackout that no one thought to update us on. Honestly, that temporary room was the best part of the stay. Our official room had a roach infestation and, when I told the host, he had a fumigation company come and spray while our bags were in there (of course, this ended up with roaches running into one of our bags). After spending a full night killing roaches, I demanded to be put in another room no matter what and he moved us to the room next door… where there were also roaches. I would have left earlier if possible but flights to Diani are not that frequent but I’m so relieved to be going home after this nightmare stay."

I got bitten well over 30 times as I slept by two different insects even though we were under the mosquito net and I also sprayed many times. I've been to Africa before and this was by far the worst. 3. The stove only had one working burner. 4. They didn't have any supplies so we needed to buy things like salt, etc. 5. They didn't have soap or shampoo in the bathrooms and only would supply one roll of toilet paper per bathroom for the entire stay. 6. The towels and sheets and whole apartment smelled musty and moldy. 7. They wanted me to pay the electric bill but after they turned the electricity off, the owner eventually decided that he should pay the bill. 8. The apartment was not very clean. 9. There were some repairs that were needed. Overall I think the apartment needs to be re-modeled and upgraded before they rent it again."
