Their eye for simplicity and style made returning to our room and waking up a pleasure! Our stay ticked all of the boxes: It was on the festival pathway (any noise from passersby stopped by around 10pm), comfortable mattresses, white absorbent large bath towels, modern amenities and a marvelous heated floor in the bathroom. Our room, #2 was very spacious with a small balcony on the street side. We explored upwards and found a communal sun room as well as a rooftop patio that were the "icing on the cake". Our breakfast each morning was served on time and with great care and generosity and in the most beautiful dining/lounge area. Activities in and around the Jalón Valley
Villa Foia Vella is near the town of Benigembla in the Jalón Valley, about 100 kilometres from both Valencia and Alicante. In this special valley, you will find plenty of vineyards, charming villages and cosy restaurants. A wide variety of beaches can be found on the Costa Blanca, a 30-45 minute drive away.

Head out into the mountains, visit a vineyard, wander the antique market of Jalón; whatever you do, enjoy!

Located a two-minute walk from the El Riu restaurant and the museum of old motorcycles, 7 kilometers from Callosa d'en Sarriá where you can visit Las Fuentes del Algar and Dino Park, and 10 kilometers from the Castell de Guadalest where you can see the reservoir, the miniature museums, and the Orduña House Museum with direct access to the castle, it's a nice tourist tour. 15 kilometers from the tourist town of Benidorm

ROUTES AND PLACES

Walking routes without taking the car.

Going down the road from the house, immediately on the left you'll see a kind of vacant lot and right next to it is the descent to the river. If you turn left following the river path you can reach the Guadalest reservoir. It's a good walk. In the opposite direction to the right, also following the river path, you can reach Altea.

And going down from the house, a 2-minute walk away, you have the El Riu restaurant. You can eat very good grilled specialties and (also, it's from the same owner) you can visit the Museum of Historic Vehicles and Old Motorcycles, which is very interesting

By car:

Going down from the house, turn left and follow the road for 10 km. You'll reach the village of Guadalest, which is very nice to visit. There you'll find the miniature museums, the Orduña house museum with direct access to the castle, and from above the Plaza del Ayuntamiento (City Hall Square) all the views of the Guadalest reservoir, apart from the many tourist shops in the village.
Shortly before arriving in Guadalest on the road to the right, there is a detour that says 'Pantano' (reservoir) and municipal swimming pool. Following that road you reach a parking lot right next to the bridge over the dam on the left. There is a green fence at the end with a small pedestrian access that allows you direct access to the banks of the reservoir.

Going down from the house to the right at 7 km you have the village of Callosa de Ensarriá following the road towards Bolulla at 1.5 kilometers just between the cemetery and the main ceramics you have the descent to the right to the Fuentes del Algar, a natural aquatic place that although you have to pay an entrance fee of 5 € you have access to the main waterfall, small waterfalls, lakes and a lot of aquatic area where you can swim, there are all the restaurants where you want to eat and they make very good rice either restaurant el valle, restaurant Don Joan, casa Marcos or restaurant El Algar within the same fountains. And following the road a little higher 800 m you can visit Dinopark....

Put Peñón de Ifach in the GPS, which belongs to Calpe. It will take you to the foot of the mountain where you can park, and the path starts. It is a good route ascending the mountain at first, and then you pass a stone tunnel of about 50 meters and the ascent to the mountain begins, which is also marked the route but it is through the mountain,....


Put Cala del Moraig in the GPS. It belongs to the town of Benitachell. It takes you to a parking lot and although it is less of a hike, it takes you to a beautiful cove where there is a cave that the sea water enters.


Put the GPS Cova Tallada, which belongs to Denia. It takes you to an area where you can park and from there begins a mountain walk and part of the descent also takes you to a larger beautiful cave where the beautiful water also enters.

Put the lighthouse of Albir in the GPS. That is in the Albir, which is the beach part of the town of Alfaz del Pi. It is relatively close and also takes you to a parking lot. It is an ascending route also to the lighthouse, much less than the Peñón de Ifach. There is also an area that takes you down to a cove before reaching the lighthouse.
