Andy, Rebecca and Gregor welcome you to our home in the Cairngorms National Park. We offer you a room in our Lodge (5* hostel). The area is well-known and respected by all outdoor enthusiasts as we are centrally located for climbing and walking in the Highlands.
We have several rooms here but have chosen to list one of our standard twin rooms with shared bathroom facilities. There are other rooms with en suite shower facilities but these are not listed on Air B&B.
We also run guided tours.
The space
We've travelled a wee bit ourselves and have used our photos and memorabilia to decorate the lounge and walls in the rooms. We've also chosen to make our space TV free. Both the lounge and the dining room are communal spaces which we hope will encourage conversation, despite the fact that we've had to give in to popular demand and make sure that wifi is available throughout the house.
We provide a light breakfast of a variety of cereals or porridge, home made bread toasted, a variety of teas and fresh made coffee, home made preserves, yoghurt and fresh fruit or fruit compote, - depending on the season.
We can also offer cooked breakfasts but we have chosen to do so on demand for a supplement as many of our European guests find the full cooked option more than they want in the morning.
Guest access
At Fraoch Lodge you'll have full access to all the public areas: we have a lounge with open fire, a dining room with solid fuel stove, a guest kitchen where you can cater for yourself if you're watching the pennies and a purpose built drying room you can use if you get caught out in a shower while hiking.
We have a mostly edible back garden where you are welcome to relax and enjoy browsing round.
Other things to note
Andy is a fully qualified hiking guide and is happy to talk hiking, whisky and tours round Scotland. Many a convivial hour has been spent in the lounge exchanging (URL HIDDEN) and travel stories.

Family/Twin Bedroom with ensuite bathroom, which can sleep up to 5 people, all single beds, this room is located on the ground floor, ideal for people who aren't so good with stairs.
