Situated on the beautiful Island of Lismore, in a superbly peaceful and breath-taking location, our gorgeous green-roofed bunkhouse is light, warm with underfloor heating powered by solar thermal and PV. We have a spacious 3 bunkbed dorm and 2 other private rooms with comfortable beds; all rooms have ensuite, one is a family room with a bunk and a double bed, the other private room has a double bed. The space
Our purpose-built bunkhouse was designed with warmth and comfort and light in mind , it has underfloor heating with triple-glazed full-length windows, doors onto the front and rear decking that goes around the outside of the bunkhouse so the space is bright as well as warm and cosy. You can eat breakfast on the deck and view Ben Nevis as you sip your morning tea!

We have three bedrooms all with a private en suite toilet & shower (two of which are accessible for wheelchair use)

You can swim in the natural wild clay lined swimming pool if you're brave enough and pick your own veg and fruit (seasonally available). We have organic free range eggs from our rescue hens.
We have a dry room to hang wet clothes and shoes. We can also provide washing and dryer facilities.
The bunkhouse is built on the 43 acres of land with a traditional 19th century croft house and is home to 20 rescued hens, sheep as well as lots of wildflowers and planted trees and our own newly planted tea plantation.

You will share the open plan kitchen and communal dining/living area with other guests potentially. If you would like to book the entire bunkhouse please let us know and we can discuss a special price.
You will also have access to the croft land, including the natural wild swimming pool. The croft land and pool access is entirely at your own risk.

Other things to note
The place is designed to be low impact; it's our wish that we leave as little trace as possible on the planet so we are quite 'green conscious'. We source our water from a borehole and have a 10,000 litre tank which supplies the water. We ask our guests to be mindful of water usage and make use of our recycling facilities. We are happy to provide breakfast, lunch and evening meal if desired.

This lovely build has air source underfloor heating, triple glazing and green roof. The views from the property are stunning over looking Ben Nevis all the way around to Ben Cruachan and a 1 minute walk onto the ridge reveals a breathtaking vista of the majestic Loch Linhe, the Morvern Mountains and The Island of Mull. You can self cater or book bed and breakfast. You will be close to local amenities 5 minutes walk to the Shop & Post Office, 15 minutes from the Heritage Museum and Cafe.

The space
The house is incredibly warm and light with full length glass sliding doors that are south facing and the non slip decking that surrounds the bunkhouse allows you to sit out and eat with a spectacular view of the surrounding countryside. As Spring/Summer approaches you will see a profusion of flowers emerging on Lismore (which in Gaelic means the ' Great Garden.') This room can be booked at a reduced price for a couple who just want the double bed with a private ensuite. This room is small but fine for a family with young offspring. For four fully grown adults it will feel very tight for space but doable and has an adjoining bathroom accessible from the bedroom itself. The beds are very comfortable and you will be sure of a very relaxing sleep in a sound proofed room to ensure peace and quiet. you can also book another room if you are between one and two households. The main kitchen and sitting area may be shared with other guests.

You will be able to access the kitchen with double oven large fridge freezer and induction hob. and living area,which may be shared with other guests . The outside decking allows you to sit and soak up the views and if you are brave enough, you can swim in the outdoor natural claylined swimming pool.

Other things to note
There are two ferries , one passenger ferry from the north end at Point from Port Appin which takes 10 minutes and runs on the hour except at 1pm. The car ferry from Oban to Achnacroish which takes 50 minutes runs four times a day. We encourage you to leave your car on the mainland which will cost you a lot less -we will collect you if necessary because the road on Lismore is single track with passing places and Lismore is best discovered on foot or by bicycle We hire bicycles at extremely good rates. It is best to look at the Cal Mac Ferries website to check sailing times as they differ at weekends and the winter and summer timetables alter slightly. Our friends run tours on the island by Landrover through Explore Lismore. We are happy to arrange this for you. You cannot drive onto the island , you must use the ferries and we advise you to book just in case.It is usually okay but we cannot guarantee a drive on without booking.
The Heritage Cafe is open everyday 11am-4pm .here is a well stocked shop and Post Office about 5 minutes from the Bunkhouse. We offer breakfast and evening meal and lunch packs if you prefer to travel light. Please enquire at bookign and we will also collect you from ferry.

The Byre is a very comfortable and relaxing B&B in Connel by Oban. Set in a peaceful, rural location in an area of outstanding natural beauty with breath taking scenery. (Check my profile to see both rooms)
Our two beautifully presented, well proportioned ensuite bedrooms are in a self-contained annexe with a private entrance and outdoor space.
A short walk down the lane brings you to the heart of the village where you'll find local pubs and a well stocked Village store.

The space
The Byre is perfect as a romantic hideaway, retreat space or base for outdoor sports and sightseeing. We offer an en-suite double room in a self-contained annexe, with a luxurious Oak bed, a chest of drawers and hanging space for your convenience. The room has tea and coffee making facilities, smart TV with Netflix and Wifi. Guests have access to the garden and seating areas to enjoy the wonderful views.
Lovely, comfortable accommodation with 100% Egyptian cotton sheets and fluffy white towels! A perfect place to relax when you return from a day of exploring the local area!

There are two bus stops in Connel with regular services into Oban and the surrounding areas. Connel Ferry train station is also a short walk from the Byre and runs services to Oban and Glasgow.

We are currently offering a breakfast hamper with a choice of cereal, fruit pots, yoghurt, fruit juice, smoothies and pastries. These will delivered to your door in the morning at a time you request.

Our property is on the edge of the town centre, all on the flat for easy walking, minutes from the shops and restaurants. Atlantis Leisure is a couple of minutes walk. Linked with Cameron guest house.
