Located in the heart of the Loch Lomond National Park in the village of Arrochar, Lochside Guest House offers a traditional Scottish or continental breakfast as well as beautifully decorated bedrooms with free Wi-Fi. The space
Our property is on Loch Long in the Loch Lomond & Trossachs Natl Park. We’re surrounded by the Arrochar Alp mountains, and our village offers a convenience store for groceries, 3 restaurants, 2 pubs, a Scottish church and friendly people. There’s many hiking trails like the Tri-Lochs Way and there’s a train station a 1/2 mile from the house.

You have access to iur dining, family sitting room, kitchen, gift shop, and all outdoor areas on property, plus we have workout equipment and an arts supply area for creating.

During your stay
Other guests will be coming and going and you have a chance to interact with them if you wish at breakfast. Other than that, the BNB is quiet in the daytime as everyone is out exploring. At night it’s still a quiet place as people tend to go out for meals and then come home a retire to their rooms.

This is a beautiful tranquil place with gardens overlooking Loch and the famous Cobbler mountain. This particular room is near the garden stream and is very private, on ground floor away from all other rooms. There’s village restaurants and pubs in 2-3 min walking distance, plenty of hiking trails, and natural beauty every way you look!

The space
Built in 1825 by a doctor, Fascadail Country Guest House was later owned by his son Barclay Henry (a famous Scottish painter), and during war time it was owned by the British Admiralty. At the end of WWII, it became a bed and breakfast guest house and remains that to this day. The rooms are Scottish wildlife themed with stags, deer, foxes, sheep, wolves and coos. From the windows, you see the mountains, gardens and the Loch. Fascadail is cosy, warm and bright, even on stormy days, and even better when the owners light the family room fire!

Your room is en-suite, plus there’s a breakfast/dining room, a family room and a gift shop which are all accessible. Feel free to relax, watch Netflix or a game and enjoy the peace. We’ll even light the fire if you’d enjoy it.

This room is so cozy and pretty! It’s to the back of the house and is very quiet. It has a side garden view…you can see our greenhouse. The en-suite has a shower and the sofa pulls out to make a double bed. The decor is teal with stags and soft in nature.

We have two drawing rooms for dining and lounging. There’s a breakfast buffet room set up by 0800 every morning with lots of options.

We have two public drawing rooms - one with a tv that has Netflix and the other is for dining, enjoying a nice pot of tea in the afternoon, bringing back take-outs in the evening, or just playing a game of cards

During your stay
I have quarters to the rear on ground floor and I set up the buffet breakfast each morning by 0800. If you need my help, I’m usually around. There’s a bell you can ring and I’ll be right out to assist. If I’m away from the property, you can always text or phone me if you need help

This Loch and mountain view room watches over Loch Long, Ben Arthur (the Cobbler), Ben Narnain and Ben Im. You can also enjoy our lush gardens where the stags roam at night. For this reason, the room decor is a stag theme, with deep reds, brown and forest green. There’s a bath/shower combo, plenty big for a nice soak after your day.

There’s plenty of places to sit and reflect in the gardens, a deck to lay out on or even dine on, and a family room with large tv to watch your favorite game on, plus a tv in your room. A small gift shop is filled with handmade items from Scotland and around the world.

This self contained modern Annex is situated in the picturesque village of Arrochar, on the banks of Loch Long, with stunning views of the "Cobbler" amidst the Arrochar Alps. It is an ideal base for walkers, cyclists, swimmers, kayakers & those wishing to experience the Scottish Highlands, within easy reach of Glasgow & Stirling.

The mature gardens have extensive bird life, with red squirrels and deer visitors. The village has good train and bus connections and a few lovely old local pubs.

The space
A cosy guest house comprising of one bedroom (King size bed), a shower-room/ toilet and a living room and kitchen area (sofa bed, dining table, flat screen TV, coffee machine, kettle and toaster). The Annex is ideal for 2 people, but the double sofa bed can be used for an additional adult (or child).

A travel cot and baby bath are available on request.

Outdoor seating area to enjoy the stunning views over the loch and Arrochar alps. Chiminea and logs are also available.

We are on the banks of Loch Long with easy access to the water for boats, kayaks and paddle-boards. The recently installed jetty/pontoon is located in front of the property and is accessible via a ramp or steps. Fishing is allowed for a small fee. We are also just 1.5 miles from the freshwater Loch Lomond.

There is strong Wi-Fi and a desk. An ergonomic work chair can be provided on request.

Onsite parking for 2 cars.

Access to washing machine, drier and iron on request.

The Annex is attached to our main residence. Please check with hosts regarding which areas of the garden are available for guests.

The cleaning fee covers the cost of a cleaning company deep cleaning the Annex (1.5 hours at £20 per hour; plus laundering & ironing the bedding and towels (£25): laundering of the sofa bed bedding an extra £15.

Rising energy prices have caused our cleaning company to increase prices. Apologies.

We have successfully applied to Argyll & Bute Council for a short-term rental license - this has been approved.

This two-room suite is romantic yet versatile with a super king bed in one room and the comfy sitting area with a huge shower and separate en-suite. For a couple, this suite is private, quiet and romantic, and for a group of three, we can set up an extra bed in the sitting room if needed.

We have two drawing rooms for private dining during breakfast hours and just for reading and sitting pleasure throughout the day and evening. The nearly two acre garden overlooks the Loch, so there’s plenty to keep yourself busy indoors and outdoors.

A luxury suite, perfect for a couple or up to three friends or family. We can fit another adult, or two small children in the sitting room with travel beds. The suite is large and decorated in cream colours and tartan. And you literally only have to look out one of the two windows to relax and enjoy a gorgeous view of Loch Long, The Cobbler mountain and lush gardens - truly breathtaking!

The bedroom with a super king or twins, take your choice. There’s also a sitting room, and both rooms have TVs. There’s a lovely en-suite with shower. Two windows overlook Loch Long, Ben Arthur (the Cobbler) and our two acres of lush gardens.
